Top tier service. I suffered from food poisoning there . I had constant check ups to see if I was ok. Tomas was brilliant and made sure that a Medic came into my room to check on me. Definitely will stay here again. Any request was considered to a high regard.

Travelling from Canada and booked a 7 nights stay at the Darling— I have another 2 nights left for my stay but I thought let me just share my experience. The service at the Darling is truly immaculate. There were some hiccups along the way but the Darling went above and beyond to make things right . I usually stay at the Sofitel but given the great reviews for the Darling online—I decide to give them a try and how glad I am that I did. If you are travelling to Sydney, Australia then I recommend staying at this awesome hotel. The hotel is extremely clean and close to all the tourist attractions which is definitely a bonus.

For the price this place is amazing, the pillows, the king bed, room service, the shower, parking, 2 TV's with all the channels, breakfast and cleanliness all Spot on. I removed 1 star because my room was so called city view" but all I could see was from a corner few tips of skyscrapers."

I appreciate that this casino is committed to protecting the environment by not washing bed sheets every day to conserve natural resources. However, their sustainability efforts seem inconsistent, as there is no monitoring of towel use by the pool. Many guests take excessive towels without regulation, leading to unnecessary waste. A better approach would be to allocate a set number of towels per room to ensure fair use and support their environmental commitment. Additionally, there should be more large bins around the pool area. Last night, there was a significant amount of rubbish left around, which takes away from the overall experience. Improving waste management would enhance both cleanliness and sustainability efforts.

Stayed at the darling for our anniversary over the Australia Day long weekend. From the minute you walk in it smells fresh, they greet you with cold water & the staff are very friendly. The room was clean & felt luxurious with electric lighting/charging & curtains. The housekeeping do a amazing job putting new sheets/towels, shampoo, toothbrushes etc… Everything is within walking distance & the room Service was great. They also made our anniversary extra special by giving us dessert & late checkout at 12pm.

Great hotel and we got a fantastic rate online the night before. Gorgeous rooms. The water views are only from the many suites. Good restaurants in the property but we loved The Quick Brown Fox which was just across the street from the hotel. Awesome breakfasts!!

Very luxurious and nice hotel the staff are very professional and treat you like royalty if you like old fashioned customer service this is the place for you.

We had a beautiful stay and when finding out it was my birthday when checking in we got upgrade! The jewl suite was amazibg and perfect for a couple. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Special thank you to Andrew who answered all our questions and made sure the stay was special. Minor negative, the mini bar does not have any prices advartised and the door says it charges based on sensors - which means you cant really take something out to see what it is. Ended up drinking a non alcoholic margarita for 40 dollars. Other than that everything was perfect.

Great place to stay especially during week days. Great pricing and very warm service! Special thanks to Cristin from reception and the rest of the team made my day of giving some very nice surprises for my birthday.

Lovely stay, many many new faces, Cameron looked after us perfectly and will be returning in March. Only downside was sad to hear two of our favs have left, Kevin and Michael have moved on and after looking after us numerous times it's sad to not be seeing them again.

Very satisfied with my stay. The location is not the best (not much public transport options, usually walking is faster than light rail), but you can walk to CBD in 20min via a bridge.

Jewel Suite was amazing. All staff were very helpful and friendly. ||Provided all necessary information about the star. Gave advice on best food options and ensured we were as comfortable as possible.||Tristan at the front desk was 10/10||Can’t fault a single thing.

Everything is good except the hotel is trying to deceive customers by promoting $50 dining credit per room per day to spend at their selected restaurants but when we dine using two vouchers for 2 rooms at once - the restaurant rejected only allowed to use one voucher a day. Reception checking area say one thing and restaurant say one thing ! At first reception told us the wrong restaurant and so when dined we paid with the voucher they say we are not accepting this voucher. The next day a different restaurant took our voucher but only 1 voucher not 2 !! But we booked two rooms !!! Bloody annoying!!!

The service was impeccable, the location with the light rail so close was fantastic & our room had everything we needed. We loved our stay & look forward to returning as a family

The Darling was darling !!! Amazing 2 night staycation in a Jewel City Spa Suite. From check in to check out all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was stunning. Would love to stay again. Highly recommend.

I've traveled the world and stayed in all sorts of five-star hotels, but this one is by far the best I've ever stayed at.

A real disappointment is the only way I can describe this experience. My wife and I have stayed at The Darling a number of years ago and had a great experience, this was the complete opposite. We decided to stay here for my wifes 40th Birthday and the room was extremely disappointing and not as we remembered. The headboard was full of dust, leaves dying on the plant on the room, shower grout full of scum, baby cot rusty and scratched and the lounge stained. This is suppoaed to be a 5-star triple-diamond property and it is as far from that as it could be. The staff did their best to try and rectify and offered us a suite upgrade but at that point we were just over it and had a bad taste in our mouth. We forfeited what we paid in full and left without staying. As someone who works in hospitality I have to say that The Star really needs to take a step back and have a long hard look at itself. A property that once was a true 5-star destination is far from it now which is a real shame.

Spent the weekend here for our anniversary and were treated like gold. From the room upgrade at check in with complimentary champagne, to the general friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at every encounter. The room was amazing as was the breakfast at Sokyo. Can’t wait to go back.

Had such an amazing experience at The Darling. The staff were so amazing, rooms looked very nice, almost on par with Crown Towers Sydney. Plenty of great dining options too and easy access to the casino. Would definitely stay again!

AMAZING SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE - 5 STARS!|Unlike other luxury hotels in Australia where service and initiative can be quite lacking, I found The Darling hotel and staff to be at an international level. ||Ali, the supervisor who organised my booking was extremely caring, welcoming, and did everything in his power to make my stay special. ||The attention to detail and communication between the departments was impeccable. I felt right at home. The Jewel Spa suite is simply stunning and very comfortable. Room service meals were delicious, and pool area was relaxing with a lovely bar. ||From the valet, to the reception staff, to restaurant and in-room dining, everyone was really caring, helpful, polite, and accomodating. No request felt like too much.||I highly recommend this hotel, and plan to stay there again regularly! xx

Our stay at The Darling was marvellous. The reception staff were very welcoming and upgraded our room to a beautiful suite. The suite size was generous for Sydney, felt very new and the service was spot on. The hotel was walking distance to Sydney Convention Centre which made it the perfect choice for us.

Absolutely loved this hotel. My husband and I visited and stayed at the Darling as a short getaway in Winter. From check-in to check-out, we were welcomed throughout and felt like celebrities. The rooms are clean and big and the location is good with many restaurants and entertainment venues located downstairs. We definitely look forward to another staycation real soon again.

Standard rooms getting a little dated now but still pretty nice. Great location and friendly team.

Stay was very average and underwhelming. Very forgettable experience. Staff weren’t that friendly. The room was nice. It’s a luxury hotel but it didn’t feel like great value. Nothing else to say apart from I won’t be rushing back.

Everything electronically controlled including the curtains! But the TV didn't work and staff could have cared less..

Nothing to fault, everything to praise. As someone who has worked in hotels before, The Darling is the best hotel I have ever experienced and... the only pricey hotel I would even entertain as they work their backsides off to bring the value of your room rate back to you. Well done team. I won't stay anywhere else in Sydney unless I am strapped for cash.

A great one night stay saw us upgraded to a suite. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Located within the Star Casino complex you're spoiled for choice when it comes to good and beverage options. Room was exceptional and large, clean with a great bathroom and a super comfortable bed. No complaints from me. Many thanks too to the wonderful concierge/doormen. Lovely people.

Probably one of the most important events for my wife. Both our 10 year anniversary and her 50th. We planned a surprise party and a night stay at The Darling … Brad and the staff and team were amazing .. from upgrading our room on finding out the importance of this weekend, to a late check that gave us time to enjoy the amazing suit.. and facilities… being greeted at every turn by all staff from the cleaners to the valet .. being offered water at all checkpoints in the hotel.. staff were on point to accomodate and give us the most pleasant experience possible. Thank you to all the staff this weekend that solidified probably one of my wife’s most memorable moments and part of two huge milestones … Thank you for spoiling us and making us feel very special

Where do I start …. Check in at 3pm, our room was not ready till 3:45pm. Booked a harbour view room, unfortunately the harbour view was overshadowed by the star casino hotel rooms looking directly into our room so we could not leave the curtains open. But, the curtains did not close! Luckily we had a coat hanger in our room with clips to keep the curtains shut. There was Zero water pressure in the room. One and a half hours to fill the bath tub. Calling room service was just as fun - 3 calls later and finally our items arrived. When we brought this up with reception, we were told - oh well, it’s at full capacity, so basically get over it. There are so many wonderful hotels in Sydney. When you pay $1000 a night, you can do so much better than The Darling

Enjoyed our stay, managed to check in 2 hrs earlier, however no upgrade was offered for the special occasion we were celebrating. We received a happy birthday cake though, but I did request this on the booking, so wasn't anything special given, I had requested this anyway. The room was nice, view was of city buildings. Bed outdated, probably needs to be changed. Room was clean, functional and practical. Light/curtain switches weren't highlighted so didn't know what buttons you were pressing this would of be been a great feature. Breakfast was average, nothing fancy, would prefer a buffet option. Staff lovely, location great. Would stay here again but in a different room, however not anytime soon.
