Had fillet steak with prawns topping, on special for $19.90. I could cut the steak with my fork.
We ordered a standard king room. The decor was... Underwhelming in a word. There wasn't a place to sit with a mirror to style my hair and it was very standard hotel vibes. HOWEVER: the bed and pillows were super comfy if you don't mind a firm mattress with a soft overlay. Shower was hot, it was generally clean and tidy. Water pressure left a little to be desired but was still fine, our bathroom light switch was old and a bit broken but still functioning. If you can manage to get a free breaky go for it, otherwise I would suggest saving the $40pp and going elsewhere.
Stayed mid-week on a package deal & at check-in was upsikd to a better, higher level room, with access to Lounge & incl breakfast - great decision ending up on level 20 looking to ocean. Room was very nice - spacious, modern, comfy & quiet. The lounge on the top floor was great - open pm with free drinks & canapes 5-7. Staff super friendly & amazing views. Enjoyed a swim - very quiet on an overcast pm. Towels at pool & even a lifeguard. Large area with lots of space. Ate at Harvest which was good. Plenty of undercover parking with it included in our booking.
When you roll up as a walk-in you need to deal with someone who wants to help you out. We didn't get that. We had to find our room on booking.com before reception found it and matched it. But we did deal with Arthur when checking out and he was superb
I show them my Ukrainian passport and they said it’s not working I said I can show Australian driver license but security guy said that I’m rude and I can’t go in because of that when I didn’t said anything bad also he said to another security guy that I’m toxic and he shouldn’t let me in, when I ask for reason they said that they not gonna said me the reason because they don’t want to talk with me because I was being rude, I said that you can call the police and check the camera and see that I was didn’t been rude but they said that they don’t have time for this because it’s too long and I was being toxic
One hour and a half for do check in and block in level 6 without exit. Waiting 20m for one person open me ... The worst customer experience that I have been in my life
Great place to stay has an abundance of amenities. It is always my go to place to stay on the coast. They need to give the bar staff some training on cocktails around the pool area.
Not a bad spot, not so good for food. Not much to choose from.
Amazing experience.
I stayed here courtesy of a car dealership in South Brisbane. This casino was originally called Jupiter's prior to its revamping. I was driven in a limo from Nundah to this location. Upon my arrival, the staff said 'welcome' and approvingly took my suitcases up the escalator. I confronted the reception staff. They questioned who made the reservation. I curtly responded, 'Michael he's from the UK and works for a car park in Logan.' They concurred. I was ushered into a rather opulent room. There was a bottle of Moet champagne set over on the fridge accompanied by an exorbitant collection of sweet treats from Mike and Ikes and Nestlé. Admittedly, I don't have a sweet tooth and I don't typically drink Moet champagne. However, Michael insisted he wouldn't be arriving until 8pm and it was only 4pm. Hence, I decided to indulge in the 'complimentary bar.' To my delight, there was also a hot tub in the bathroom, otherwise known as a jacuzzi. I owned a hot tub in North Delta. However, this was a private hot tub in the backyard of an enclosed deck, not a hotel. Hence, I'm familiar with hot tub protocol and how to control the jets. Contrarily, some apartment complexes on the Northside, habitually bust the hot tub jets. The hot tub overflows perpetually with bubbles which is rather unsightly and disturbing in a common area, viewed by rows of balconies. Fortunately, this specific hot tub was contained in the hotel room and NOT for the general public. Evidently, the latter is a blatant health and safety hazard. Finally, this gregarious Englishman arrives from his car park shift. He insists we roam around various lounges in Broadbeach. We were in walking distance, so I obliged. I adore shopping in Broadbeach. There is a diverse selection of apparel, shoes and jewellery available at these boutiques. However, I never shop Intoxicated. We visited two lounges. Unfortunately, at 10pm this Englishman began vociferously and obstructively abusing the staff. This escalated in the bouncers tossing him on the footpath because he refused to exit the premises after 16 drinks. He persistently hollered obscenities, which only incurred further deleteriously consequences. Unfortunately, I had to return to Jupiter's with him. It was a rather sleepless night. There were stains on the rugs and furniture. Apparently, uncontrolled nausea wreaks havoc on damage deposits. By 7am, I ordered him to exit the premises. Finally, I was able to sleep. I recovered my composure on the beach, which was in walking distance. I called this insalubrious character and questioned how I would be returning to Nundah from Broadbeach. He incoherently responded that he couldn't organize transpiration because he was preoccupied with 'working at a used car park for Mazda.' This is located in Logan. Hence, I ordered a cab to 139 Ryans Road Nundah and charged it to his NAB Mastercard. I have never visited Jupiter's Casino since it's transformation into a Star venue. Apparently, the Star Casino in Brisbane had their license delayed by 15 months, which renders the company rather dubious. Moreover, numerous international investors withdrew funding in 2023, this further erodes its reputation nationwide. When I do visit this upgraded establishment, it won't be with a belligerent, malicious, abusive British man named Michael. I also won't be joining him with his daily shifts at the used car park, though I have no personal bias against Logan. Apparently, Michael revels in the local 'entertainment.' I've never visited this unique car dealership. However, I look forward to its weekly rancorous updates. They're hiring daily, particularly Aussies, Brits, Asians and Italians.
Great place to visit. Staff are super friendly.
We loved King suite Corner room. The bed was super comfy! The room was nice & clean. Great blockout blinds! We would definitely stay here again. We dined in the Italian restaurant twice during our stay loved it on both visits.
A good day out for valentines day
Nice to play and enjoy
Clean and nice, the staff are kind and give stuff quickly. Only complaint was air con was loud and kept blowing on and off even if i turned it off.
Confortable room, all the tech, great reception, helpful team, everything you need within the complex and more. Great pool areas, bars, casino, restaurants at various price ranges. The black out blinds didn’t quite keep all the light out and the smart tv was a little tricky. A couple of bugs in the tech. Fantastic views from some of the rooms. Overall a great place to get away on the GC.
Great hotel, lovely rooms & great location.
I have stayed here before and room was very nice & cosy, comfortable bed. Food can be nice depending what you ordered, I’m a simple person and enjoy their pumpkin soup & roll. What I don’t like is the pokies in the gaming room, total rip off! I played many machines and could not get a good return on them, I lost close to 1200 last night, all my pay and quite a lot the other weeks - approx 2-3 thousand which is pathetic as It’s no fun when they continually take and take. I’m done with this casino, never stepping foot back in. Save your money and don’t go there!
Great place
Great place to visit and spend many hours playing the pokies, listening to music eating really nice food and just relaxing in a nice atmosphere, really great place don't miss out in visiting the star, cheers jack
Visited only did not stay in accommodation. Staff are like robots, and no one smiles. Drinks expensive like any other casino. Facilities were clean.
Great hotel. Service counter had only 3 staff which i think bit less. Other than that service is great
Went there today for lunch and the food was absolutely awesome..
Awesome casino
Before the vacation, I was high expectations for this hotel. Unfortunately , this was a bad experienced here, . no complimentary basic item at room, NO bottle water, none of toiletries, no slipper etc. This was the worst facility what i experienced at 5 star hotel level. Anyway, paid extra for its if you needed. For breakfast buffet, I think is “can try” but the people traffic was horrible during 8-9 at morning. This is not a good vacation hotel I recommended , just a casino purpose for.
I was fascinated at how you can run a casino into bankruptcy, but going here, it's pretty obvious. Service is abysmal, staff are rude, the food we had was awful. Just a 0/10 experience all around. Good bye and good riddance.
Great location to watch a show. Just stay away from the pokies....😆
I think this is the worst hotel on the Gold Coast.
Great place to visit 😀 The food was delicious and very well priced 👍
6$ schooner 😂🤯
Very luxurious highly recommend, comfort bed and beautiful
A pretty ordinary place, Pay for a room, meals, drinks and see a show then have the privilege of paying for parking,as a Gold Coast local I doubt I'll ever be back.
So refreshing to be able to get served at the bar by bar staff who know what they are doing. Excellent! Queues … but sufficiently staffed to manage the volume of patrons. Food was a bit average however we went for a quick cheap feed so got a fair return. Floor staff are great at clearing away glasses etc A pleasant experience compared to the much more overrated, new Brisbane Star
My wife and I (28 and 32) had a really fun time here. Super relaxing but lots to do, we loved drinking mimosas and splashing around in the pool and we loved the buffet!!!!! Amazing service from Alina who checked us in and Kelly in the executive lounge. And all the staff in every part of the bars/hotel/casino were amazing!!! Super impressed and would come again
Visited the Casino for some relaxing me time. Offering a variety.of pokies, gaming table and restaurants. A nice place to spend time in.
Very poor services and staff is not at all guest friendly. The room doesnt have basic amenities like dental kits, water bottles, slippers, etc. Not a hotel to stay in. The hotel manager says if staying for 2 or more days then dont expect room cleaning till 6 PM on the second day because the staff is busy in checkins and checkouts till 3 PM
Love that The Star Gold Coast accomodates drink requests at Cherry compared to The Star Brisbane, who would not and made it a massive problem.
The stand out at the restaurant is the variety. Seafood! The staff are super friendly. The chefs come out of the kitchen and mingle witht eh guests. If you go on busy nights like weekends, the lines to the buffet are ridiculous, but the staff do their best to move people along
Maintenance crew are 👌
The Star Casino was great, staff very friendly, plenty of new machines.
No customer service and no park space
走着走着就走了进去,又在里面走着走着不小心赢了点钱
Great location.
Lifeguards were horrible, making nasty, snide comments about kids 🤮
Great place to stay. Very good restaurants with a large variety to choose from. Great location close to the Convention Centre. GC Airport Transfers
Prices disappointing charge $695 one night then next $199 per night so total rip off just because busy week doesn’t mean guests have to be ripped off
Been coming here for years. Very comprehensive many different attractions. 4 stars though as they have slapped 2 hotels in and now the parking is charged at a rate higher than getting an uber. On the good side there is a variety of food here a couple of nice bars that will go until after the clubs closed, I watch a lot of Sport at the sport bar.
Great spot, lovely comfortable rooms. Great service from hospitality staff 👏
Was an excellent stay! My friend and I had an amazing time. Sue on check in was very friendly and nice! I believe Andrew from concierge was very friendly, the other concierge didn’t say much but never had to wait long for the car. In room dining arrived very fast both times we ordered, one order arrived in less than 15 minutes! Executive lounge was nice and an added bonus! Beds comfy and aircon cold. Rooms slightly dated but well appointed !
Stayed at the Gold Coast star after new year, usually have never had an issue tho people be aware when using complimentary nights , make sure it is one comp night per night stay as when booked via the star app it wasn’t anywhere that it was more as we ended up getting hit with 3 comp nights for one night in total all 12 comp nights were gone , we had words with the reservation desk to no avail, words were exchanged and emails back and forth, after much drama to no solution as if we wanted to get back ex amount of comp nights we had to pay the difference per night we stayed which was ridiculous after being told when we originally asked to put us in another room ( standard) considering on the app it showed $0:00 due to comp nights , be aware of when booking your nights if it’s complimentary as they may take more of your complimentary nights as per night , this is the worst stay we have ever encountered very disappointing… they had done taken points and so forth from other patrons we spoke with … this was the grand hotel part of The Star Gold Coast P.s even bottles of water in the rooms are not complimentary any more
One of the premier destinations on the Gold Coast. The overall venue has so many amazing options for entertainment whether a big night out or a family affair, there are plenty of restaurants and bars to cater to all tastes. The casino floor is impressive and makes for a great night out
Upon arrival found black mould in bathroom sink, the sink we use when brushing teeth, rinsing face, etc. Raised issue with reception and manager had us change rooms following day. Now following day we spent from 11am to 530pm changing rooms (others having mould also) to finally being settled at 530pm. Management of $200 and dinner that night to apologise. Now after I made an error in ordering dinner that night we were charged additional amount days after checkout. I called to try sort out but The Star staff didn't want to hear it and made it like I should be grateful they offered what they did in an apology. What a joke for customer service. Hardly a 5-star hotel, terrible experience, over priced dining. I would not recommend staying there.
We checked in and found mould in our rooms (I’m allergic to certain moulds and didn’t want to risk have a reaction) we had two interconnected rooms and both had mould in the bathrooms and also the roof outside the room. We where moved into three different rooms all had mould and one didn’t have enough beds although the housekeeping staff where amazing the manager and service people just dismissed us and only when we mentioned we had spent our whole second day waiting and moving rooms did the manager offer a dinner on the house but then we had to pay $50 of that as well because we did two transactions I spent the 9 days taking telfast and getting rashes they just didn’t care so not recommended hav wadded two photos but have more if needed
the only complaints i have are small. the first was that the soap dispenser was broken, and the other (it's probably just me) was rhat the coffee maker was confusing. Some instructions would be handy. overall everything else was great.
Years ago, I use to be excited to come and stay here. Now it’s $20 just to park for one night when it use to be free sometimes. Rooms aren’t cheap but they’ll charge you $17 for movies that are already available on streaming services that are much cheaper. The toilet paper is as thin as public toilet paper. There’s literally nothing special about this place anymore that’s all about charging you for everything.
