Bloody awful had to be put outside like a dog onto the outside tables meal came wife didn’t like the fish that was served also the chips we had with our meals were burnt overall a bad experience

The Camden is always a good feed and decent size meals but it's always so noisy. My cocktail was not served in the appropriate glass and that's a surprise considering they have 2 bars. Overall good.

Had dinner here, the food was really bad. The Thai beef salad was with roast beef that seemed re-heated and added on top and it all took ages to come out. The place does look nice though but it's so expensive and the quality is so bad, would not eat here!

We purchased the cook at home Christmas hamper and it was absolutely amazing! The food was so fresh, tasty & top notch. The quantities were very generous, we are still finishing it off on Boxing Day. Will definitely buy it again next Christmas. Thanks so much!

The food and service are mostly fine however both can be a bit hit & miss especially on a busy night. On a recent visit the Seafood Aglio Olio had to be sent back to the kitchen due to the notable absence of seafood and the chilli was so overpowering it was inedible. The poke bowl and the burger were both good!

Three of us had a lovely meal at the Camden Town Hotel. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and new fit out looks great!

I’ve been driving past and wanting to come try here and it was worth the wait! Food was unreal, the seafood pasta 10/10, really cold beers on tap and beautiful inside! Will be back

I have had to edit my review following a very bad experience for my mum's birthday. The service was slow and confused, with multiple errors made in our order. Following the booking, I received the generic email from the Hotel asking for any negative feedback to be shared via email, rather than on Google, so that's exactly what I did. I received no response. It's been almost 6 months. We have been here multiple times before that, hence the decision to book the party of 8 for her birthday, but we won't be rushing back. If the owners only care about positive reviews being made public, that's fine, there are plenty of other amazing places in the area to go.

FIrst time here , can't speak highly enough of this hotel especially chef Con who went over and beyond to assist with my mum's special diet. We were a party of 16 and everybody was very happy with their meals. Thanks for your special care. Much appreciated

Great place to have a meal with friends and family. The team took great care of us and didn’t hesitate to replace a meal we weren’t satisfied with.

Week before Christmas, and they were still plenty of spaces on tables. I’m not quite sure why our waitress when I said I hadn’t decided, had to hover whilst I decided. I didn’t really get a chance to fully look at the menu because of her hovering and it was unnecessary when it really wasn’t fully busy. There was no one in the bar area and there was a whole line of tables that hadn’t been filled yet. I do find it quite noisy when there’s a lot of people in there which I don’t like as much. And again because of the waitress hovering and not going away and giving me a couple of minutes I didn’t really enjoy the barramundi was lovely battered but there was just way too much of it.

Service and atmosphere was good. However, the food was very average for the price. I had a very expensive lamb backstrap dish that looked and tasted like it had been reheated. Tough as nails. It was supposed to have potato’s and had one tiny potatoes sliced. Miserable meal for the $42 I paid for it. I won’t be going back sorry.

We went on a Saturday night. The restaurant was quite busy. The waitress who initially served us had a bit of attitude and wasn’t particularly friendly. However the other waitresses were very nice and service was fast. The food was excellent. We had the lamb backstraps & the crab & prawn spaghetti which was a special. Both were delicious as was the Greek salad. I must say we’re not young (late 50s) but felt the youngest there by at least 15 years. 😊. There was a group of younger people outside celebrating something. But otherwise it’s a much older crowd. Go for the food. It’s lovely.

Apart from the great food, professional yet friendly staff and the easy parking, I appreciate the fact the gaming room is unseen and unheard in the very pleasant dining room!

It's the first time we visited this pub since my friend told me kid meals will be free on Sunday. Chicken Parmi was just average, Thai salad was small and soggy with more sauce than salad itself. Staff didn't inform us about how the kid meal deal works until we wanted to pay, one of the waitresses was quite rude when we asked about it. Overall, not really impressive!

Food was delicious except 3 of our meals were missing some of the ingredients listed on the menu. we had to request them to be brought to us which they brought in a separate bowl. We sat to enjoy our get together (group of 20) however the staff Kept on rushing us and reminding us that we only had a 2 hour booking which was not mentioned when we made our reservation. We had 20 minutes left in our booking and the girls spent more time asking whether we'd be able to finish our drinks. Had we known this time limit on such a big group we would have gone elsewhere. Management recognized their mistake which was good.

Havent been there since it changed from London Tavern. But easy to park, geat food and fabulous staff - nothing was too much trouble. I will visit again.

Steak night on Thursday is a really great event with good value eating and a drink included. Unfortunately, for older people particularly, the noise level is quite high. Will still return though.

Not enough seafood for $30 meal My wife wS very disappointed

Last night I had the Monday night special stuffed chicken breast with broccolini and mash. After ordering our meal we waited 45 minutes to receive it. Not many ppl there at this stage. Food was fabulous. Generous and tasty. Lovely young new waitress.

Lovely spot, great environment, the food is first class and the service was brilliant. Everyone very helpful and friendly. The only downside is that it's quite noisy when there are a few in. Wouldn't stop us going back again though.

Thursday nights are the goat here, great steak deals for 38 dollar with a house of wine! Can't go wrong! The staff are amazing and props to AJ and absolute legend.

Beautiful steak, perfect medium and $38 for a 500g t-bone on Thursdays, can't complain. MJ is super nice, helpful and professional. Couldn't recommend enough!

Had dinner in the bistro last night and whilst it was quite busy, the service was great! We had a very lovely, bubbly waitress attend our table! Everyone enjoyed their meal, we ordered schnitzel, chicken Parma, Atlantic salmon and broccolini. Finished off with hot drinks and some desserts. Beautiful and stylish art deco like interior, definitely recommend this place!

Taylah provided a very enjoyable experience to our party. Her recommendations were impeccable & made for a memorable arvo!

Here's a tip: kids eat free on Sundays ..... so bribe your kids with $5 each to select from the kids' menu, be sure to have the equal number of adults eating, and you've got one fantastic family outing at such great value. I loved my parmagiana, my partner loved her poke bowl (with tofu and Nigella seeds) and the kids loved their spag bol and fish and chips...... oh, and the dogs loved being with us in the courtyard. BTW, the wine was great too.

We’ve been here a few time recently. Only comment I’d have is that the service last night was too much. We had three waitresses ask if we are ready to order within a few minutes, same with dessert. We had actually ordered when a waitress came up and asked if we were having dessert. May I suggest allocating serving staff to certain tables, areas.

The manager was very rude and bad service, will not visit here again.

Forget about going here. Really rude manager and bad service, and food. Very noisy atmosphere and if you have any membership cancel it as it is useless. This will be my last time as I had a very very bad experience.

Wonderful little gem of a place very modern great food and very kid friendly. Kids eat free on Sunday and they love the pasta. Highly recommend. Service is 5 stars.

Food very good but service poor compared to our last visit and we did not appreciate being told at 8.20 pm if we wanted anything else such as desert we needed to order before 8.30 pm.

We’ve eaten many times at the Camden but last night, the food was absolutely terrible. My pork belly had almost no meat, the fat content was disgusting and gelatinous and I honestly felt sick after eating it. The skin wasn’t crispy, it was wet and couldn’t even cut properly. My wife’s butter chicken was completely bland and tasted like it didn’t have anything added to the dish apart from plain chicken and rice. My child’s fish and chips order was also unacceptable. His fish portion was completely dry. We honestly couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Best food and service we've had in a long time. Been dining at various locations in Caulfield lately and the Camden Hotel definitely comes in ahead of the others. Staff friendly and helpful, food arrived hot , beautifully cooked and within a reasonable timeafter ordering even though the dining room was very busy.. Will definitely come back.

Great steak night special!

Camden is a good family restaurant. It is good value with an extensive menu with reasonable prices and a good kid’s menu. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual night out.

This is intended to be a constructive criticism. I ate-out at the Camden hotel on number of occasions around 10 years ago and the food was always of a very high standard. I went out to lunch with a friend the other day and we ordered a medium rare porterhouse steak each. Based on my experience of eating out - pubs and RSL clubs, as a general rule, cook steak very well. Seared on the outside to perfection to trap-in the juices with the familiar criss/cross pattern and in the case of a medium rare steak - the meat should be brown graduating to red in the centre. Porterhouse steak has a firmer consistency than fillet steak but should not be tough. I was very disappointed in my meal. When our steak arrived, it had not been seared properly and our steaks were as tough as boots. My steak tasted as though it had gone-off. I don't normally send meals back but on this occasion - I had no choice as my meal was inedible. The staff were very obliging and offered us a replacement meal with good grace.
