Pleasant surroundings,good food and very good service overall positive experience

Not a fan of the food at all. Had roast beef vegetables undercooked and roast wasn't nice at all. Won't be back for food possibly for a drink as nice atmosphere and friendly staff food was a let down

On Saturday night after 8pm on the 15th of feb there was a server with Brown hair in a high plait and earrings and an Apple Watch she kept giving my children and I disrespect looks when we were ordering our food and I will not have this I’m not coming back

I saw some young ones eating the seniors apple pie, I thought it was exclusive for us old ducks.

Meal took 45 minutes to come to us. Had to go back to check if it was gluten free, didn't see it again for 20 minutes. One main meal came separately, by the time the other 3 meals come the first person had finished their meal. Pavlova was swimming in bottle cream and topping, managed to find pavlova. Hard and tasteless. Un eatable. This desert should never have been dished up to anyone.

Had a bunch of us blokes go there last Friday night with the oldest fella being 94! The staff were fantastic and so was the service. The manager ended up putting us in the private dining room and we all had a great night. The place has certainly changed from when I was a young bloke and definitely for the better! Highly recommended.

Speakers in the bistro when watching the Superbowl were terrible sounding, rusted pendulum speakers that only sound like distorted midrange, get some decent speakers for the game!

Had my sons 1st birthday party here and the experience from start to finish couldn’t have been better. Great staff, very friendly, great food and super cold drinks for our guests. Highly recommended.

We love to dine at The Coach restaurant in the dining room. It was a lovely meal and catch up with friends. The food was great, very tasty, well presented and generous servings, no complaints from anyone in our group. Peaceful atmosphere. Would certainly recommend to family and friends.

Disappointing service. Everyone's food came out at different times. Had a long wait just for coffee and cake. Not very friendly staff.

Had a terrible experience with this place, rocked up in a skirt and a singlet, was told I was dressed inappropriately. For a 26 year old on a day that’s 28 degrees? This isn’t primary school and I should be allowed the have my shoulders out. Poor form from the security that just couldn’t be bothered.

Extremely disappointed with wait time. Took nearly 1 hour 40 minutes to have 2 simple meals served. The meals were 1 x hamburger and 1 x lamb kofta with salad. Although the food was nice the wait time was RIDICULOUS for 2 simple meals. I actually feel sorry for the waitstaff. We work in customer service so were polite however I can imagine customers becoming rude to the staff when it is clearly the kitchen letting them down.

used the private dining room for a 92 year old birthday accommodates 22 people. order at the bar but delivered to the tables food service was quick and good quality overall a good experience with attentive staff

Food not as good these days. My salmon was overcooked and my Husband's which I asked to be medium rare was also overcooked. Very disappointing

As a large group we have been recently twice for dinner. The food and service is very reasonable. The only serious issue l have is that they serve cold cappuccinos, lattes and hot chocolate should be called cold chocolate. And last night we told them make sure they are hot!

Busy evening, we had booked 3 tables and had dinner with 3 generations of the family. Easy and relaxing with playground the younger kids.

First time to this club. Lovely atmosphere when i walked in at 6 - was greeted by a guy at the entrance who courteously showed me where to go. Then, the place became very noisy after 7pm. I thought our table being away from the main tables would give us some respite but , no. I could barely hear my companion next to me let alone those who sat across from me. Food was reasonably good. My salmon was yum with the pureed pumpkin. Parma was huge but my friend seemed to enjoy it. Nasi goreng was a little too salty (said my other friend). The last one ate just half her steak and could not go further because it was a very tendonous porterhouse. I went to get my drink and waited quite a while, tho i was waiting at the counter. Maybe i was too short to be seen because the guy looked at and past me to people behind me before asking who was next. Hmmm … then i asked for the cocktail menu, which he pointed to and then he just walked off. Left me standing there. So i waited another 5-10 mins before 2 other guys and a lady who were serving 1 guy, finally took notice of me (is it because I am Asian looking?) and came to ask me what i wanted. After i asked for my Hawaiian kiss, 😘, he seemed flustered, asked the 1 lady server at the bar, and i thought ahh he’s about to disappear too. Did they not have competent people working the bar?? Anyway 20 minutes later i managed to return to my table with assurance my cocktail will be brought to me. Definitely not going back there because no other club in Melb so far has made me feel like this. I pay my taxes too, dears. Just saying … 🙃😌

Dishonest at POS, ring up cost, scan card and then up pops a bullshit surcharge which large venues should not be putting up with. Tell the bank to shove it. No port at the bar, are you a pub?

This is a pub, a family pub, a great place for friends and kiddies. With solid pub food and a good range of drinks, including 0% wine. It's been a while for me as it was a touch boring. On a revisit I will add it to my, yes I will make an effort list.

After scouting the area for suitable venues, I organised a surprise birthday lunch here recently for 18 people on a Wednesday and was impressed! Staff were helpful and attentive at every stage of the booking process. When I was unsure of the numbers, they reassured me that they'd set up a table for the maximum number, but a few 'no shows' wouldn't matter to the pub. They were also happy for me to run a tab, as I was paying, and their system worked well. They also suggested book for 12:30, rather than midday, so the kitchen would have a chance to process the first rush of meals, before our table ordered. This was great advice. When we ordered, all meals arrived during an eight minute window. Every meal was correct (no stuff ups). On the day, I couldn't fault the quality, diversity or value of the food (remember, this is a pub, not a Michelin restaurant). Likewise the wine list, which was not overly elaborate, but well priced. We lingered until late into the afternoon. There was no pressure to move. Staff quietly cleaned around us and that was also appreciated. I wanted to leave a reasonable tip when we left, but the barman said they couldn't accept it. Overall, a great experience and I'd recommend The Coach.

Very let down a disappointed ,in service and food ,we had a table of 13 and out of that 6 meals were terrible and the other very ordinary, and as for the staff on floor and serving behind the counter RUDE UNFRIENDLY,,I had my own business and yes we all can have a bad day but I never showed that to my customers,....TO THE STAFF at coach if you don't like your job get out let someone do it that want or need a job ,I certainly could have done a much better service today..... it cost nothing to have manners or give a smile or be friendly

Can be a little loud, but has great food, and the young kids are entertained in the playground. Although the table water tastes horrible (like drinking pool water).

My nieces birthday dinner was great but very noisy and crowded.

The good was absolutely wonderful my only small complaint is that the wait time to receive our meals was far too long ……children spent a fortune trying to win toys in play ground but to no avail

Nice venue but the Oktoberfest schnitzel was awful. So tough and hard, I could barely cut it and the sides that came with it were mediocre at best. Ridiculously long time to get our meals and the wait staff were surly. Drinks were reasonably priced and the bar staff were helpful, although lots of taps were not working on the night and the Oktoberfest beer was only available in a large size and not small for some reason. Fish in the fish and chips was undercooked but the steak sandwiches were good. Also siiting near the children's play area was a nightmare with lots of older children screaming and shouting - staff and parents should have stepped in. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Food was dry we ordered salmon and fish n chips fish was dry too. Play area was good tho but don’t pay for those pay machines they are useless. Staff couldn’t be bothered just a job

Gone downhill really fast... over an hour for food on a Thursday, very very substandard food, legitimately believe the food was microwaved it was that bad tonight. We are regulars and have accepted the slow decline but tonight was well and truly a new low for food standard. Service still good but wow please lift your game coach 🙏

Food arrived promptly and it was top quality and very tasty. Unfortunately there was a minor issue with my dish but I was compensated accordingly without having to ask, which was very nice. The service from Rebecca and Sandra was exceptional. Would recommend. 👍

Coach and horses has improved for the better,I do enjoy going there, price of beer more expensive than other local pubs.

Recently had a function here for family and family and friends. Bridget the function manager was very pleasant to deal with throughout the whole process and accomodated our needs. Food was great with generous sized portions and everyone had a great time. Thanks Bridget and team at the coach.

Had a birthday function for a family member. Nice venue, well catered. First time I had been there in many years since before the renovations.

Ok it's a pub bistro style, nothing flash but clean and a few distinct areas so it is not barn like. Order and pay at the bar, they deliver to table. Food ok, large group and no complaints. A couple of $ more expensive than others but the food is good. Some errors in the menu, eg soup is only on seniors' menu and roast is not (but is available). Should take patron names when ordering to avoid mixing up on larger tables. They just call out the dish and someone puts the hand up so can get sequence of orders for couples mixed up.

From when we got there to be seated I knew we made a mistake coming here and when we got the food it was average at best , four people and all meals not very good , was a lot better about a year ago

Had a wonderful evening with friendly staff and good food. It was very quick to be seated even though they were fairly busy and we didn't have a reservation. We were also given a quick introduction to how ordering works which was amazing since it's been a while since my last visit! Loved seeing the history of the place throughout the years too.

What a great meal and helpful, friendly staff. I ordered the chimichurri cauliflower and it was DELICIOUS!!! It’s such a shame that it was only offered for Christmas In July. Big serves, vegan friendly but not great options. I don’t want to remove the cheese etc. Just create proper vegan options that aren’t a cop out like risotto. Such a shame that our second visit for the week was disappointing with the kitchen not even offering to try and come up with something that wasn’t fried. Otherwise the menu seems to suits most dietary needs and it’s a really nice pub! I wish there was vegan dessert options like churros or fritters. My friends ordered from the diverse Parma menu and were very happy too. Something for everyone!
