Fried rice was cold, the staff didn’t give pager, I was waiting for 20 minutes, wasted time, cold food, will not eat again

The food at Charlie Chans is always authentic and delicious, unfortunately the staff were very snippy and rude.

Cocktails are amazing! Especially during happy hour. Food service could be better but the food was delicious!

Please update your opening times as we arrived at 4 and were severely dispplinted at the close sign. Change from closing 6am, to 12am. LIARS !!!!!

Terrible customer service at the bar by Stamp. He can't speak English well and have attitude problem. Don't speak Thai when you are working in Sydney while serving Aussie customers. It looks unprofessional. He has a very unfriendly demeanor and unpleasant look towards the customers

The food is very cheap and the food is not too bad. It was good but a bit too salty and sweet for me.

Went during lunchtime and the food was really good. Friends had cocktails and enjoyed them. Nice interior at the bar.

The food did taste good. I had the tender beef noodles and they were flavourful and tender. However I must mention the portions were disappointingly small! They gave enough beef but I wouldn't call it generous and the bowl comprised mostly of soup with a few noodles and stuff and was just sound half full. The rice bowls are larger, we got the squid bowl and it tasted quite nice but spicy. For the price we weren't expecting actual fresh squid, just the calamari ring stuff and that's what we got. The place is a bit dark though quieter than many stores nearby because it's tucked away on a side street. It was clean enough though some seats were a bit icky near some gas cupboard things... Wouldn't rush to come here again and I reckon there are better places with larger servings, nicer atmosphere, equally nice tasting food for a similar price. Wouldn't be too sad coming here though. I'd recommend the 1919 Lanzhou handmade noodle place in Market City shopping centre.

I’d give 0 stars if I could, staff here has no manners at all . I found hair in the food and I told staff they said they couldn’t see the hair then she called her friend to have a look they both said they couldn’t find it, so I pulled it out . What they did is just gave me a new one but I knew it was other but they switched I don’t know if other got mine one. The point is they don’t even say sorry to me and just make face like … I was overreacting. I know that they have been working here for long time but I don’t feel that they well trained enough ! Too rude for me. I’ll never go back again.

Walked 20 minutes to get here for a drink because the shop said it was open. It wasn’t. I’m sending photos of hours to google and requesting a change of your hours, you’re welcome.

I order “Boat noodle soup” but the soup tasted like yesterdays dish washing water. I asked for the meal to be replace with another dish, they said that’s how the soup tasted like dish washing water. The meat tasted off and rotten. I do not come here. You have been warned for your own heath. Having to go to the toilet now.

The food was averagely good, similar to other Thai restaurants in this Thai town area. But I would not recommend coming here even for a quick lunch if you don’t have cash. You will be forced to spend more than $20 with card payments. Also, if you want a takeaway container it will cost you $1 instead of 10 cent. This is unacceptable. I will not come back and will contact ACCC to see if this is even legal.

I was drinking here with my friends, and one of my friends was drunk and he didn't do anything but just lay there and the security guards kicked him out violently, which was really infuriating

When ever visiting Sydney popping into Charlie Chans for thier signature Flaming Charlie is a must do for my friends and I. Always quick & friendly service and a great spot for drink when in the China town area.

Very Racist! The security guy who was bold kicked my family out because of our appearance. If that was a problem, they shouldn’t have allowed us at first place. I heard him saying that my uncles blue jacket and white shoe wasn’t looking decent.

Says open to 6am for bottle shop on google. Traveled all the way there and is not, just the pokies is.

I’ve been here about 5 times and I always order the same dish. Crispy Thai Basil Pork on rice. It’s delish! It’s quick, cheap and tasty. Seating is awkward and limited at the back, but if it’s just a casual quick feed it’s does the job. Papaya salad with the crab is also delish!!

Highly recommended! The food is cheap, delicious and freshly cooked while you wait. Definitely the best Thai food in Sydney!

Don’t come here for cocktails. Even though they have a full bar of any spirit, liqueur or ingredient you need, they will only make cocktails from their list of roughly ten original creations. Wouldn’t even make a martini.

Decent Thai food. I LOVE their happy hour, spirits are only $6.

Mrs. Chan's Kitchen (Sussex Street Entrance) 14 years ago, a Thai friend from high school brought me here to try Thai Boat Noodle Soup. Since then, I've brought more than 10 people over the years to try the same dish, and I've been back personally more than 20 times for that same heartwarming soup. It is truly one of a kind, and the best version of boat noodle soup I have ever had. I would highly recommend this dish. The consistency of quality and flavor has never changed.

Waited 10 mins to get my food and then when the food came out I found out that it wasn’t what I ordered so had to wait another 10 mins to get what I originally ordered, waste of time

loud people, employee doesn’t know how to redeem discounts. edit: please learn to write out all your t&c’s instead of making them up on the spot. your employee had to call 3 different people to magically come up with the t&c’s. mountbatten hotel does not have this issue, and does not require you to spend money in order to get your complimentary free drinks from the app. your employee did not in fact handle it well and was unable to answer our questions regarding the t&c’s. we went to mountbatten hotel right after and they were able to accomodate us no questions asked. either there’s a fault with your tech or your employees are not well trained. thanks

I like this place and go pretty often. Good prices for food and drinks and good happy hour in CBD. Although there is one thing that is unacceptable. When you order chips they give you (or you believe so) the sour cream with sweet chilli sauce to dip. The thing is that is not what you think. Instead of sour cream, they serve the sweet chilli sauce with mayonnaise. And that’s disgusting. Everything else is good

When I crave Thai basil chili minced pork, this place always comes to mind. I absolutely love the authentic flavors and spices they use. In my opinion, it's the best chili basil dish in the area. Their wide selection of Thai chili basil options makes it even more appealing.

You can order thai food from Mrs Chan restaurant which is at the back of the bar if you're coming in from george Street and sit in the bar. There's only 3 sofa booth in the middle of the area which most of the time always occupied. But it's a nice place just to sit and hang out while enjoying food and drinks.

Restaurant at the back and bar in front. Serves authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. Good happy hour deal for drinks at well. Restaurant side only accepts eftpos for transaction above $20.

Taste so good. Bear in mind that they only accept eftpos if transaction is above $20. Applogise didnt take photo before finishing the food. But hell i finish the whole bowl. Thankyou for the service!

Can’t beat the back lane for a cheap jug

We have been coming at the restaurant ever since opened and it’s our weekend main menu. Food is fantastic and safety. Services is suites the environmental. Staffs are friendly and best understanding their role. Overall it is 4.5 stars.

There's happy hour which is great. Food is a bit of a hassle where you have to purchase from a different section at the back of the bar then walk around with buzzers to collect. It's also cash only if under $20 spend. Taste is OK. Seating on high stools is not the most comfortable, and the music is too loud to have a conversation. Feels more like a club than a bar.

Ordered chicken wing, but no wing?!

Wir waren zur Happy Hour dort und hatten den Hauswein und Bier. Service an der Theke schnell und freundlich, es gibt einige Biere zur Auswahl und der Hauswein ist auch in Ordnung.

Good to try this place, but compared to other Thai restaurants around Haymarket, this place is not very outstanding.

Good food with reasonable price. Service level however depends on which staff you will be talking to, from my experience. Ordered beef stir fry yesterday and it was terribly tough. Avoid beef and go for crispy pork.

술사러갔었음. 종류는와인이랑맥주나쁘지 않았음. 그런데 숙소에서 마시다가 술이 부족해서다시갔는데점원이바껴있었음. 갑자기점원이신분증을요구했음. 당황해서몇시간전까지만해도검사안했다고하니호주의법이라고하면서안된다고함...ㅋ 호주세번째여행인데단한번도여권요구한적없어서넘당황스러웠음^^ 결국숙소다시다녀와서여권보여주고술샀습니다ㅋㅋ 그점원말로는우리가다시오면자기가기억을해서여권을확인안했을거라고함ㅋㅋ 가시는분들은꼬옥여권챙겨가시길바랍니다^_^

This place has the worst atm machine of all time - it’s ALWAYS MALFUNCTIONING!!!! OR STEALING YOUR MONEY!!!! Get a new one for god sake - you make enough money from the patrons… it’s just appalling!!! And spend some money investing in a better security guard. Whoever's the fill dude you’ve got covering the holidays SUCKS!!! He is the most annoying security guard I’ve ever come across- Find someone else…. anyone else. This place use to be really good Now it’s just really bad!!!

Love this place ,good atmosphere ,happy hour 5 till 8pm. The seating arrangements could be a lot better.Its a small bar and having sofas and easy chairs means less seating, so it's sometimes hard to get a seat.

Poor management

Had a tap beer (White Rabbit dark ale) and a cocktail (sweet G sour). All good. Will return next time.
