This place is epic felt like the whole building was a clock! Filmed the entry in case I got lost!

If you like Steak, BBQ and Beer this is your place. Enjoyed every single bit of my plate. Staff looks overworked and stressed. But I guess this is the nature of work in hospitality.

I ate here with my girlfriend. We ordered rump steak with chips (medium). It was horrible, really bad, no salt no flavour at all. Plates dirty, forks and knifes dirty and yeah it’s cheap, but still is really expensive about what is. Never coming back.

It was our 2nd visit and lunch there. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. Thank you to the chef and staff for a well presented and enjoyable lunch.

As an international tourist, I was really looking forward to experiencing some great food in Gold Coast. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I made a few attempts, politely explaining my situation and hoping for a bit of empathy, but none of them were willing to accommodate, even for a quick bite. It felt like they just wanted to go home rather than offer any service. Sadly, I missed the chance to try what could have been a good experience here. I won’t be coming back again.

Had pan fried salmon and the chef was very accomadating and remade me the dish as I did not realise that usually this dish is served medium rare, my bad, but he politely explained and remade the meal which was great, do yourself a favour don't buy fast food, the wait time was not long and it was nice to sit in a good atmosphere and enjoy a well prepared meal, thankyou for the well done salmon fillet

The lady behind the bar who took my order was super sweet and gave me tips about their menu. As it turns out, she should have simply told me to go the McDonalds. The Schnitty was terrible. I don’t know how you can goof a schnitzel so badly, but you’ve done it spectacularly. It was greasy. Bread shouldn’t glisten. The chips were cold and we all know when chips are cold, they’re inedible. Absolutely loved the bells chiming whilst I waited for my “food”. The view was lovely. Such a shame my lunch was inedible. I’m sure on a hot summers day, this place is a vibe, but sadly, I don’t recommend it for a weekday pub feed.

We were upstairs for drinks, didn’t eat but checked out everyone else’s food, smelt & looked amazing, then we went downstairs, group of lads playing the pokies that had mouths wharfies would have been proud of, top of their lungs …. LOUD & PROUD they were until someone called them out, two sentences later they were back, got to the point where they were the only ones left in the pokie room, didn’t appear they were playing too much so cost the publican money

Food was excellent and priced right. Blonde behind the bar needs help with customer service asked for a glass of water, the answer was I can give you one out of the tap also needs to smile. The other staff were great (I’m a manager of a pub) But besides that I would recommend this place for food and cold beer 🍻

Booked a table for our family of 7 (5 kids 7-17yrs) where we were seated adjacent the bar directly in front of opened l, double front doors. We were also directly in front of the table water dispenser and glasses. Patrons either had to squeeze behind us or reach over the corner of the bar to get their water. I ordered 2 Black Russians at the bar and neither of the bar staff had any idea what I was talking about. I explained 1 shot Kahlua, 1 shot vodka in a glass of coke, I was met with a disgusted look as if I was joking and I said “if you’re not sure or don’t believe me you can look it up if you like.” After I reassured her that’s what I wanted, The bar girl then said “you’re gonna have to pay for all those shots”. I politely smiled and said that the cost wasn’t a problem. Meals were ordered at the bar and collected at the pass over by us when the buzzer sounded. All the food was served in small portions. Dry chicken and almost zero Caesar dressing on the Caesar salads. Small chicken schnitzel on a small handful of chips with briny salad. Burgers also served with only a small handful of chips. Kids nuggets and chips were 5 Dino nuggets and a few chips in a small bowl. No sooner had we finished eating, one of the staff zoomed in to clear our table into a basket lined with a plastic bag, to whom we passed our plates. Disappointed with both the service and portions here.

Amazing service by the Māori guy, great food

The schnitzel was average and I didn't finish it. Dissatisfied with that however my wife's steak was good.

Went here for the ribs “deal” still had to pay an extra 8 bucks just for slaw and chips. Chips were advertised as being “thick cut” but came as your standard frozen fries. The ribs were dry and thin (unlike your mother)- most definitely tasted frozen. Ontop of this poor quality of food I had to order my meal at the bar and then collect my meal and cutlery from the kitchen serving station - front of house were happy to issue a refund is the only positive I have for this place.

It's a good spot for a mid week meal in Surfers. Hubby said the ribs were decent. It's no hurricanes, but it's easier on the wallet here for sure! The atmosphere was good and our food came out nice and hot and fresh.

Well most think of steak when people mention Clock Hotel however nestled down below is a gaming room with some of the newest pokies on offer along side a TAB of yesteryear. Very personal touch with awesome staff that look after their locals. Hats off to the Clock Hotel.

Close to home and good food

Salmon was cooked well but half my sides were left off the plate.No dairy free sauce option. Very expensive for a piece of salmon with a bit of green leaf and lemon. Disappointing

Lovely meals, not too busy, central location.

Eaten there on two consecutive nights. The meals on the first night had us coming back the following night. The Roast Port, Ribs and Schnitzel were all cooked to perfection as well a good serving of nuggets and chips for the kid. It's rare that I decide to give a google review and normally only when I've had a negative experience, but we both thought the food and atmosphere was terrific.

Takes the gong for the worst meal of the year I guess we were unlucky to order the roast beef. The meat was hard and grey from overcooking, the potatoes tasted like leftovers that had been reheated and the pumpkin was charred to blackness. In fairness we politely told the manager of our disappointment but he shrugged his shoulders and promised to do better next time.

Excellent meal ( Parma & flathead fillets 😋) & we really enjoyed sitting in the outdoor area. Very friendly staff.

Felt a bit like stepping into an old tragic movie whete dreams came and died but still linger in the corners. Magic just out of reach outside... If you're into that stepping back in time vibe. It's certainly an iconically sad and also brillant sensation. I loved it.

Atmosphere 1/10 for boring, staff just have there arms crossed and look like they hate work.

That was a good place!! From 2pm to 5pm, the burger is only $9. However, you also need to order one drink($4).

We recently had a couple of meals at the Clock Hotel and our experiences were quite mixed. For dinner, we were delighted by the perfectly cooked steaks at our entire table. They were prepared just as ordered—medium rare and bursting with flavor. This meal was fantastic and left us looking forward to our next visit. However, when we returned just two days later for lunch, our experience took a downturn. All of our steaks were overcooked to a significant degree, despite ordering medium rare each time. The inconsistency was disappointing, especially given how great the food had been previously. Despite the variability in food quality, the Clock hotel remains worth a visit if you're in the area. Just be aware of the potential inconsistency in the meals. Overall, it's still an okay spot to grab a meal.

Fast service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and fairly priced. 2 long islands, 2 mains, and an appetiser for $96 which all tasted really good.
