Well what can I say? The service was great, the meals were pub meals at affordable prices exactly what they should be, and it’s in a great location. I definitely recommend this hotel for drinks, dining and sports. Thanks for they great service and great dining areas to choose from.

Lovely old 'pub', pub. Has a lovely beer garden and outdoor dining area. The meals are very reasonable in price. The accommodation, although fairly basic are clean and comfortable..and above all safe. Check out the incredibly brilliant painting of the pub displayed in the bar area !

Single bed room. Comfortable with all I needed for a quick stop over. Separate private bath clean and tidy. Need to supply Comfortable pillows way too skinny to be able to sleep Stayed on a Thursday has pub special dinner steak n wine $20.. was so good. Various areas to eat, big beer garden. No gambling, which was refreshing. Not too far from hospital and had few parks spots at the back. Friendly helpful staff, felt safe

I stayed overnight at the hotel on two separate nights in two different rooms (at the start and end of a trip). The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Good, clean private bathroom down the hall. The old sash windows were a bit stiff but other than that my stay was fab; great value.

It's ok, the beer selection is a bit one paced and the food was tired and uninspired. The atmosphere in the bar was pretty good as it was really busy for a Thursday night but it lacked any real warmth or welcoming feel. You certainly wouldn't make it your first choice in Launceston.

Very friendly barman. Meals look great, but only had time for a round of St George before a funeral.

Great stay and the porterhouse was simply superb! Accomodation was comfy and cosy, you’re staying above a pub so bring some earplugs. The service from the moment I walked in was spot on both friendly and welcoming. I’d come back to stay on my next work trip.

Pub food not the best, not the best selection of wines. Room for watching sport is small. Staff are friendly.

I must say that the Staff here are pretty good, especially one, Mel. I have lunch here every Wednesday and she is friendly and very accommodating. If there were more staff at all venues like Mel the Publican would be always smiling. Food is very consistent and the chips are lovely and hot, which is a particular 'bent' of mine. In close proximity to the race track and the RSL.

Very nice hotel in old building with a bar at 1st floor. Everything is safe and sound, old but clean, good locations with lots of restaurants nearby. And price is super affordable for a room with private bathroom. Staffs are very friendly and supportive, helped me with the luggage storing for 2 days when I went to Cradle mt. The only thing that you need to be mindful is bad sound-proofing so if you want to stay here, make sure you can sleep with the noise. As hotel is located at the crossroad so there’re always people driving in late at night or early morning. Weekend is a bit tricky as the bar downstair would operate until late (probably after 11pm). However food and drink at the bar is tasty and affordable ;)

We were enjoying our Friday night out having some beers and watching the footy, up until the worker with the large sideburns informed us they were closing before the last quarter began (around 9:30pm). After asking if we could stay for the last 20 minutes and watch, he rudely said “I don’t care, I want to go home” and walked away. Very inhospitable for a bloke working in hospitality, even weirder was a sports bar kicking patrons out while watching the first game back of the AFL season and telling us to go to another sports bar up the road to watch it. If you’re going out to enjoy sports and a drink with mates, don’t go here.

Restaurant: The Bistro Beer Garden was clean , pleasant and basic. Dress code was Launceston Chić to smart casual. Stools or chairs at a high or low table, respectively. Bar service for drinks and Table service for food and get your own cutlery. $20 pot and Porterhouse: Quality meal for the price. Came with chips, salad and a choice of gravy. The rare steak came out medium but hey, it's a $20 steak. Cut of meat was good and the meal was delicious. Fine feed for the price

Female staff talk badly about patrons behind their back, in an offensive manner.

Great Bar and Restaurant, on the outskirts of the city, on Charles St. But in the heart of a small eat street style area. Very close to Hospital and a stones throw to the city. Excellent meals and great bar selection & prices. Quiet a few TV's with the sports to suit you. A variety of rooms and outdoor beer garden to choose from;- the front street, the restaurant area, the(public) bar, the deck and outside! Quiet small carpark, so choose streetside parking, if you can find it!

As the Parmi connoisseur I am, Monday night Parmi & Pint night at Sporties Hotel caught my attention. For $20 you get exactly what you’d expect! I had the Meatlovers Parmi, thick slab of chicken with all the meaty toppings. Not over or under cooked. The beer batted chips were also delightful. Sadly they had ran out of both beverages I had asked for on the option menu. 7.5 / 10 on the Parmi. Great value

Wir waren aus Australienrundreise und eine Nacht im Sporties in Launceston. Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Möbel aber etwas abgewohnt. Für den Preis aber vollkommen in Ordnung. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Essen ist lecker. Wir Katzen Glück und es war ein Steakabend. Ein Rindersteak mit Chips, Salat, Sauce und einem Bier kostete nur 20 Dollar.

Good standard room, good place to stay the bar is good the staff is very friendly the meals are nice. I really like the place.

Food was inexpensive but the best I've had for some time

Geoff made us feel very welcome and even put the Matildas game on for us at the time. Food was excellent and good value for money. Highly recommend calling in for a meal and a drink.

Best service, great pints, perfect location, gorgeous venue,

First of all, it's cheap, so dont expect too much. The staff were lovely. Very helpful. The room was adequate, although unfortunately there was a street light outside my window and the cheap blind did nothing to black the light out. A better blind would have helped. The big downside for me was the shower. The water pressure was so low that it was impossible to use, and I had to sponge bath. Not my first time, but would have preferred a shower. Overall, it was an ok stay if your flight is cancelled and you want a cheap option.

Food was delish. Lots of outdoor space. Accommodation was loud, as expected above a bar.

The Hallomi and sweet potato salad was fantastic. The service was spot on. Love the experience.

Caught up with friends for a quiet drink enjoyed a game of pool and a beer in the sun. Nice working man feel.

Stayed here for 2 nights while I had surgery at the LGH great food fantastic service nice room very comfortable bed overall I would definitely stay here again we will definitely come back and stay .

Exceptional place to stay. Your own room, own bathroom even if it isn't an ensuite room. Clean comfortable beds and respectable service. Shout out to the cleaners for they do a great job. Unlike many other places in Launceston. Only drawbacks are a little cold sometimes, perhaps best to have softer warmer blanket options or heaters and some doors are sticky and hard to shut easily. Fantastic location and great cosy street views. Highly recommended for accommodation in Launceston. Will be returning often for my business and personal trips. It's a great place for both. Even has down stairs bar and restaurant options.

Love this place the atmosphere and staff

호텔이 오래되어 지저분함. 낡은게 아니고 자세히보면 먼지가 있음. 그러나 냄새가 나는건 아님. 방에 화장실이 딸려있는 구조가 아니라 방 밖에 개인용 화장실이 나뉘어있는 구조라.. 여자들은 밤에 좀 귀찮을 수 있음. 아무래도 밤에 나가는게 위험할 수 있기때문. 그러나 또 다행인 것은 방이 방음이 거의 안됨. 옆방사람 코고는 소리, 전화하는 소리, 티비보는 소리 다 들릴 정도임. 나는 축구를 안좋아해서 모르지만.. 첫날에 축구하는날이었나 보던데 1층 스포츠바에서 늦게까지 소리질러댐. 예민한 사람은 잠 못잘듯? 그러나 나는 오히려 내가 소리지르면 다 들릴게 뻔해서 안전하다고 느꼈음. 그리고 나는 겨울이라 해가 빨리져서 저녁에 어디 나가기가 좀 그랬는데 1층에 비스트로 겸 바가 있어서 밥먹기 좋았음. 아이리쉬 펍 메뉴가 주로 있음(슈니첼, 피쉬앤칩스, 튀긴오징어 등). 게다가 요일마다 무슨 이벤트를 함. 예를 들어,내가 있던 월요일은 파라미스와 생맥파인트를 20달러에 줌. 그래서 나름 재미있음. 다음에 오면 또 묵을지는 모르겠음. 왜냐하면.. 역시 화장실이 방 밖에 있는데다가 겨울에 라디에이터 하나로 버티기엔 좀 추웠고...... 먼지가 좀 눈에 보여서 찜찜했기 때문. 그러나 그런거 신경 안쓰는 사람은 좋을듯

I stayed at this place with my wife for a weekend trip. Due to budget and time constraints, this was the only place available.|The staff were friendly enough and the room was both comfortable & sparse. The meals available downstairs were good and having various shops in walking distance was welcome. I was surprised to find that the bathroom was separate, requiring the key to get in. But being above a bar, and on a weekend, I found the place to be very noisy and had trouble trying to get some sleep.|Still it is a budget location and it does its job

Great value meal

Had a great stay here on a trip with friends. Fantastic atmosphere in the bar and excellent service. Staff were fantastic in helping me relocate some lost airpods in the rooms.

Efficient & friendly bar staff & good lunch !

Food OK - just - but overpriced - schnitzel $4 more than at other venues in Launceston - for instance. But it's the service that is spectacular - in a bad way. Not sure if we copped the same girl mentioned in a horrific review just below but the experience sounds so very familiar. We are a polite bunch and she treated us with contempt. Such an inconvenience we clearly were to her. Asked for something politely and had to chase it up - not an apology - nothing - just contempt. Avoid. Plenty of other places in town that offer decent pub food with a smile and at a better price.

Great meals and fast service.

While the food was at a standard expected of the venue the service was extraordinary rude. The person at the bar was: (a) Disgruntled by the fact he was asked to print off the bill. (b) at 3pm when seated at our table in the veranda area came out, started crashing tables & chairs around & said at the top of his voice “can’t you just start painting the walls?” I would’ve thought if he needed to set up for evening service he might have just asked us to move to the Sports Bar. Rude person. Disgraceful service. Will never be returning & will tell all our friends especially those coming to Tasmania from Interstate!

Very nice, cheap room. Surprisingly quiet. The layout is good, rooms are old fashioned and small, buy nice. Bed a little stiff. But overall, a nice place in town to stay, with excellent service
