How It Started
Our story begins with Paul, the founder of Time Gone Amusements. Paul’s first encounter with arcade games was in the 1960s when he owned a takeaway sandwich shop in Bondi. Located next to Bondi Beach Public School on Campbell Parade, the shop became the perfect spot for a couple of pinball machines brought in on a 50/50 profit-sharing basis. This was Paul’s first taste of the arcade world.
In 1972, Paul purchased his first machine, Depth Charge, a joystick game that became a hit at Frenches Tavern, where he worked from 1972 to 1991. The machine charged 20 cents per game, and it wasn’t long before Paul expanded his collection with pinball machines, which were incredibly popular in taverns at the time.
Expansion
Paul’s passion for arcade games led him to place machines in various locations, including shops, milk bars, and sporting complexes, all on a profit-sharing basis. In the 1980s, he opened his first arcade in Cabramatta, which quickly grew to include additional locations in Blacktown, Parramatta, Fairfield, and Mount Druitt. At its peak, Paul owned arcades in Cabramatta, Fairfield, Mount Druitt, and Blacktown, with machines also placed in other arcades owned by different operators.
Over time, as the arcade industry evolved, Paul gradually closed his arcades, with the Cabramatta location being the last to close in 2014.
Today’s Time Gone Amusements
Since closing his arcades, Paul has focused solely on hiring and selling arcade machines. Today, Time Gone Amusements is a full-time operation dedicated to providing high-quality amusement and arcade game hire services. From soccer tables and tennis games to air hockey, pool tables, basketball hoops, jukeboxes, and more, we offer a wide range of entertainment options to suit any event.

Amazing customer service, with great machines. Paul was a pleasure to deal with from booking to pick up. We booked the foosball table, stand up arcade, coffee table arcade and the point blank machine, all worked great with no issues. They were perfectly on time for drop off and pick up. Everything was seamless and smooth on the day. Thank you so much.
Such an amazing experience from my initial enquiry to the event day! I hired a pool table for a wedding celebration. The service was amazing and hassle free while the pool table itself was perfect. They worked with the venue for a seemless setup on the night. Cannot recommend them enough and very appreciative of their help!
We hired a pinball machine and a standing arcade machine for our wedding. They were such a fun addition to the night. Both worked perfectly and looked amazing. Delivery went off without a hitch and the price was unbeatable! Highly recommended.
