Stayed in apartment style room (room 18) and had the following issues: -Musty smell and had no air-conditioning despite online saying it did. -No screen doors and the latch on the sliding door was not very secure at all -No window screens, even in the upstairs kids room where windows opened wide onto the roof -Shower was old and had mould, bad drainage and ended up standing in a pool of water -Toilet seet poorly installed so could barely sit on it -Very small and uncomfortable beds -Banister on stairs was not safe On the positive, staff were happy to not charge for the 3 nights I had to cancel when we found somewhere else to stay, but offered no discount for the night that we did. Apparently they're renovating (there was a sign on the counter stating this AFTER I complained and requested an air conditioned room).
BED BUGS!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Wish I had read reviews before booking this place. Most people complaining of cleanliness issues. I got a stained towel, which was replaced upon request. But the worst thing is bed bugs! I got bitten all over. Hotel management disregarded this saying it's mosquito bites. Place should be closed down! Absolutely disgusting!
We only stayed 1 of our 2 night stay. Bathroom was disgusting, dirty. No bedside tables. Pillowcases looked dirty. Curtains missing rings and gaping.
Nothing like the pictures! We were very disappointed
Great stay
If I could leave this place a zero star review I would. Having stayed at this hotel 12 years prior, I didn't think to check reviews before booking a night for myself and small children, and boy do I wish I had! The room was, to put it bluntly, disgusting. Dirt on the walls, food spills that had been left running down the walls, hair and dust on the floors and questionable marks on the bed bases were just the start. We couldn't use the fridge because it smelt like someone had left meat in there for weeks, every time it was opened the entire place stunk of bad meat. The heater in the bedroom was zip tied to the broken wall brackets. The inside of the microwave looked and smelled as if someone had burnt something and it hadn't been cleaned since. The paper packet the cutlery was inside had clearly been scrunched, unscrunched and reused. We didn't use any of the cutlery or crockery provided as they looked unclean, opting instead to go get paper plates from Coles. The icing on the filth cake however, was the shower. It was so filthy I point blank refused to use it. We instead had to go to Bunnings to purchase a large tub to bath our toddlers in. There were many other smaller issues also. No spare towels, no face washers at all, no spare pillows and no bin in the toilet. Everything was grimy, outdated and broken. You can tell there's been no upkeep for many years. Considering we paid over $200 for one nights stay, I am disgusted and disappointed. I do NOT recommend anyone stay here, unless your looking to catch a foot fungus from the showers. We didn't even bother to use the pool, it looked as bad as the rooms, and the playground is as old as the place. EDIT: Owners say they are doing reno's, but looking at the comments these issues have been going for ages, and the reno line used as a reply for at least the last 6 months. We saw no evidence of renos... and even if they were, that doesn't excuse the utter filth.
Booked for 3 weeks but checked out one week early with 72 hours notice with absolutely legitimate reasons. More than a month later am still waiting on a refund with nothing but excuse after excuse after excuse. Bed and pillows are stained and very poor, the room and bathroom smells mouldy. I would never recommend. The restaurant is permanently closed and the kids room requires coins for everything.
(Room 9) Although it was very quiet, I stayed here with some family not that long ago and the beds were extremely uncomfortable and solid, and the rooms couldn’t possibly fit more then 3 people. however don’t even get me started on the lights that were flickering and not working well, and the TVs poor quality I got to say was strongly disappointing. as I walked into the room the first time I saw dead insects right beside the bed which was absolutely disgusting. Only 1 thin pillow on each bed and unpleasant looking stains on the walls and bed sheets and blankets, the blankets were also extremely thin, my experience with the bathroom wasn’t so pleasant either. The bathroom has no space and makes an extremely annoying and uncomfortable sound when light is turned on, and looks extremely outdated and old looking. The little fridge/freezer that is put in the room is extremely small and not even that cold. Also the freezer was over frozen and had no room to fit anything in it. The floors were also extremely filthy and felt very dirty and sandy…and on the second night me and the family I came with woke up feeling extremely sore and feeling unwell with swollen faces and puffy and red eyes.
The servise at the reception desk was lovely but thats all thats good about this place. Reception was so dusty and smelt stale.. Beds were old and had it, mirrors filthy rubbish around the entrance, linnen was actually clean, thank god bathroom smelt moldy, timber was rotting, fan was like a jet plan, hot water was just on the first night and none the second, husband had to clean two big hair balls out of the pool before he'd let our daughter in gardens are untidy and rubbish around the place place has great potential but needs to be shut and revamped and cleaners that take pride in the place. Definitely do no go by Web site photos nothing like it apart from the linen covers. Price is good but still to high for a nasty vibe.
Definitely won't be back here again. The rooms were filthy, the bathroom was a disgrace aswell, floors not even vacuumed. The Google pictures do not show the real state of the place. The pool stank of chlorine and the spa water was almost grey. Glad it was for only 1 night
We stayed at the Village family motor inn only for one night thankfully. I had to get my pillowcases changed immediately as they were dirty. When sitting on the toilet all I could smell was urine, the vanity sink had not been cleaned, bits of hair everywhere. The shower was filthy, curtains hanging off their tracking. Overall I would say room number 7 needed a real “Deep clean”
Ok where do I start… Rooms were filthy ,hair in shower drain, dust everywhere, plates dirty, cutlery dirty and reusing paper bag cutlery was in , holes in curtains, stain on walls above bed head, stain on bed cover, dental floss left on dispenser 🤮,spa and pool disgusting, would never stay again absolutely terrible.Stay away.
Good to stay with family
Absolutely everything was wonderful, especially the service. The rooms were fresh and clean, well equipped and had air conditioning, the pool was clean, there was a barbecue area and arcade, laundry facilities. Could not fault a single thing... Except the mattresses. If you're the sort of person who can sleep anywhere then this won't be a problem but if an uncomfortable bed keeps you awake then this will be an issue for you.
It was nice but the pool needs different steps hard on the feet but not to bad
The bed was terrible. You could see that the mattress had hollows in it where it was worn out by just looking at it. The pilliows were worse. They were no more than 4 inches high but flattened down to no more than 1 inch high, so you felt like you were sleeping with your head below you body. You couldn't fall out of the bed because the hollows kept you safely in the bed. Found supermarket receipts on the floor near the bed, so cleaning of the room was a bit suspect as well. Yes there are positives - the shower pressure was great. The other positive was that we had to leave early the next morning. I could not recommend this motel. Yes it was cheap to stay in, but you get what you pay for.
The worst accommodation I've ever been to, looks great in the photos online, presents itself as a family friendly place to stay, including indoor pool( so dirty and run down I would let my dog in the water) the spa was cold bubbling water with a sign that said only operating before 11 am in the morning on certain days, the sauna🤦🏼♀️a kids games room that was locked, now we move on to the room that was straight out of the 80's and I have no doubt that's how old the bed linen was and all the towels they were off white and stained, the microwave was rusty and dirty, I wouldn't dare use the kettle.... shower and almost every wall we're just dirty, upon having this chat with management they see no issue but all of these reviews cannot be wrong... it's a dirty rundown poorly run motel that felt like a scene off family vacation.... they should sack the groundsmen and get the cleaners eyes checked ... they say please excuse the renovations🤭... I don't think the place has seen any renos in the last 20years Edit* in response to the accusation that we were trying to get a free night's accommodation 🤦🏼♀️ we happily paid on arrival.. had we of veiwed the facilities first we definitely wouldn't of paid a cent on departure .... and I don't troll, I contacted management privately prior to leaving this review to try and get a refund or partial as we couldn't use facilities they claim to provide and definitely DO NOT MATCH UP TO THE PHOTOS ONLINE WHEN BOOKING🤔
If I had a choice, I would give zero stars. We happened to book this place looking at 3rd party reviews which I assume are fake. This place has cockroches, zero safety as there are no doors that have any locks neither the washroom nor the front door which is soo unsafe. I feel soo disappointed and looking at reviews on Google I felt soo disappointed. I was travellinv with a friend and we felt so uneasy and had no choice but find another place to stay as this place is soo filthy. I would say please refrain from booking this place. Just to clarify, the booking was under my friends name for the 5th December 2024, for room number 36, does that ring a bell? Having door locks is one things not having a system to lock from inside is another. Why do your bathrooms not have a lock, how would I have picture of your room If I didn't end up coming to the place?
This motel had everything we needed for a single night's stay, and was handy for the airport. The staff were friendly, and the price was good.
The apartment floors must not have been swept or cleaned as it was covered it dirt and sand. We had booked for three although was only supplied with enough cookery for two so we requested more and was told it would be brought to us but nothing was ever brought to us whilst staying there. The beds were dented as well. The only good thing about this place was the spa and heated pool…
Cheap but clean and respectable-ish.. blue collar respectable anyway.. it's a bit weird.. walk into reception n noone is there.. just a tv screen with a woman who checks you in prints out your receipt n room code etc.. a woman who is actually in the Philippines running her motel via facetime basically... I don't think that's right.. but like I said the rooms are cheap.. $$88 a night if u book online.. $98 if you make the receptionist in the Philippines enter your details manually... lol.. the cleaner there is an awesome lovely n friendly and extra helpful Aussie lady.. she is awesome n made me feel welcome and valued as a customer making sure I was comfortable and stocked with fresh towels n soap n coffee everyday.. if you end up staying here say G'day to her for me!! Haa Safe travels
If I could rate this place in negative stars, I would! Staying here was one of the worst decisions we made on our trip. From the moment we entered our room, it was clear that cleanliness is not a priority here. The room was filthy, and it felt like no effort had gone into even basic housekeeping.||The fridge was completely broken when we arrived. We mentioned it to the motel attendant who came by shortly after check-in, but he simply acknowledged it and vanished—we never saw him again, nor did we see any effort to address the issue.||I’m not sure what standards motels are required to meet, but whatever they are, this place doesn’t even come close. The owners should honestly be ashamed and held accountable for the appalling state of their property. It was so bad that we seriously considered sleeping in our car, as it seemed like a far cleaner and more comfortable option.||Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other options in the area that won’t leave you feeling disgusted and regretful. Don’t make the mistake we did—find somewhere else to stay.
Very old Motor Inn
We recently visited Launceston and had a great experience staying at this motel with friends and family. The location was great, close to the road yet reasonably quiet, and only five minutes to the city. The customer service manager, Mr Khan, was exceptional, friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. He went above and beyond to accommodate us, even arranging a lovely space for our group of three families to gather for dinner. This thoughtful gesture made our experience even more memorable.||We rented three apartments, all of which were spacious and well-equipped with essentials like beds, couches, a fridge, and a TV. The only downside were the stairs to the first-floor of the apartments, which could pose risk for young children. I would recommend that families with little ones consider this when booking. While the cleaning and furnishings of the motel could be improved, the manager informed us that they are actively working on upgrades over time. Despite this, we felt that the accommodation provided good value for what we paid.||Last but not least, we also appreciated the flexibility of a late check-out, which the staff happily accommodated. Overall, a great stay! I would definitely recommend this place to others, particularly families.
First room offered was not acceptable. Second room outdated, holes in curtains, only one flat pillow per person, unclean, skirting boards hadn’t been dusted for months, housekeeping staff knocked on door at 9:15 to only empty bin, cutlery appeared unclean and in a used paper bag, crockery didn’t match, bed unstable and creaked, front door not secure, heater inefficient, noise from neighbours (shower, flushing toilet and conversations) - definitely would not recommend to anyone.
I recently stayed at Village family motor inn and it was an incredible experience !From the moment I stepped in,the staff made me feel right at home with their warm hospitality and attentiveness. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful gateway.I can’t wait to return!
We had a fantastic stay at village family motor inn and would highly recommend it ! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated.Overall, it was an excellent stay and I'd happily return.
The rooms are a bit out dated but it is a very family friendly place to stay. I stay here quite regularly and never have an issue with any of the staff or any of the facilities. The spa, pool & Sauna are all in good working order and very enjoyable for your family and yourself. The staff are always lovely and greeted with respect, overall the place has a lot of potential once renovations are finished. Great cheap place to stay if you need somewhere for a couple of nights, each to their own you can’t expect a 5 star hotel for the price, but it is very reasonable pricing. Always a great stay.
Don't think about booking. Rooms are filthy, my 3yo didn't even want to enter the accommodation, she is normally excited to check them out.
The room was not nice at all was dirty and unclean. The microwave was rusted on inside. The pool had dirt and fluff all in it. The beds was hard. Needs a good update nothing like it used to be. Definitely not going back
Friendly staff, beautiful view. Great value for money. We'll definitely be back! There is a pool that was clean and really warm, bbq area with a great view and a laundry cheaper than most of the laundry mats.
Village Motor Inn should NOT be operating. Room ordour was horrible of smoke, vape, and musty. Filthy floors, ripped furniture, holes in curtains. Dirty used sheets left on floor of room we checked into and BED BUGS visibly seen on used sheets. Broken furniture hanging over balconies, used tires in balcony. Not a good look to have long term customers living at venue. Paid $210 per night for 2 nights and regret booking, stating and paying. Will NOT stay again, nor recommend venue. Terrible value for money. Would be surprised if venue passed health and safety check!
Very old seemingly 70’s or 80’s motel rooms. The outside looks better then the inside.
Pretty good spot to stay, we didn’t receive a book of what’s about or park facilities on arrival so had to work out ourself :) pretty clean and tidy room :) second night we had a stampede of elephants walking across the floor above us :/ and spa is only operational Thurs Fri and Sat until 11am? Strange :/ But-overall it was a good stay :)
Stayed 3 nights at $170 a night. Room was dirty, bathroom had paint peeling off the walls and mould. Water temperature was through the roof or freezing cold, no in between due to taps being in desperate need of servicing and clearly having no tempering valve in place to stop people being burnt. Drains either blocked somewhere or not vented properly resulting in gurgling from the sink any time someone in any room used a tap. Crackhead selling drugs out of room 26, another one breeding dogs out of room 23. Doors are poor quality hollow core doors with deadlocks that are literally falling off, absolutely no security at all. Bathroom door jams stuck resulting in being stuck in there till it releases. Games room was locked the entire time we were there and based on the room experience we didn't even bother with the pool. Place shouldn't be operating until renovations are complete Dogs are definitely being bred in the room, the occupant actually told us she had 9 puppies inside that were going to the pound because no one wanted them and the we saw the mother walking around, skinny as a rake with ribs sticking out severely and clearly still feeding pups.
Very good with price and equipment
A simple and local motel that is clean and well priced.
We had booked for 2 nights and could only stay for 1, we decided to book at grindelwald for the second night. The freezer was frozen over, tiles fallen off the walls the shower fan had a bird's nest in it. The blankets had hair on them, the heating barely worked. The bathroom had mould all around it with missing and broken tiles. We only had 1 coffee mug. The curtains were filthy. No resturant open. Decided against the pool with the kids as everything else turned us off going in there. The receptionist was Lovely and refunded us the second night.
VERY outdated to the point we actually felt uncomfortable. Smelt musty and like paint. Everything felt dirty and old. Thankfully we were only staying 1 night as we had an early flight from the airport (about the only positive was the location to get to the airport). The shower looked horrible and there was no way we were getting in there! Yes it is reasonably cheap but not worth it, pay a little bit more for something better. We won't be staying there again that's for sure.
Reception smelt Shower smelt. Half the lights didn't work, lounge furniture was like sitting on a concrete slab and felt like it was going to break. Outside of location no redeeming features worth mentioning.
Very disappointed, booked from photos as we were coming to Launceston to participate in a camp quality adventure. Upon arrival to the room it was a big mistake. The furniture was at least 30 years old. The floor was dirty, the rubbish bin was filthy. That was only downstairs, upon going upstairs we had the delight of pillow cases covered in yellow stains and pubic hair. Then some stain that looked like semen on the bedding. At this point we had been there for 10 minutes, we packed everything back in the car and proceeded to reception. Gave keys back and informed the staff we would not be staying in the units and do not want to be charged. I wouldn’t stay there for free!!!! Thankfully we found a lovely air bnb unit that is 5 star for $150 less than this establishment was charging. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!
great value
冇食物供應....非常失望
I just checked out of Room 17 yesterday 1/7/24, and it was an absolute disaster from the moment we arrived. The room was filthy with dirt everywhere, and the curtains were visibly dirty. The furniture was stained and several items were broken curtains also had white stains and everything very outdated we pay $300+ for two nights for a family of four . Upon arrival, we were informed that the apartment was being inspected, and we had to wait for a good 15-20 minutes. However, the room we were given was far from acceptable. There was a teddy bear under the double bunks upstairs covered in two inches of dust, and cotton bugs were found behind another bed. To make matters worse, the pillows were stained with yellow marks and there was even blood on them. Despite the delay for inspection, it seemed like no effort was made to clean or prepare the room properly. The dirt was pervasive, and even the heater was hanging off the wall and not functioning. awesome cage with a swimming pool and spa, but I would never step foot in the water or in the room considering there was nothing but mold. Overall, the stay was nothing but terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone if your looking for a clean and comfortable stay.
Extremely run down, dirty and smelly. Traffic noise all night. 2 broken heaters in room, place feels like a fire trap.
Love this hotel was very good price I always have a good time staying here lots of family games to do and beautiful view of the town
Great staff great location and no complaints from me rooms were tidy
We visited during winter. The room itself is not temperature insulated. Thus, even with the heater on and set at 30 degree Celsius, the room was still freezing cold. Also, the cutlery were not cleaned properly, with food stain from the last customer. No shampoo and body wash provided.
Won't be staying here again. So very dated. I don't think it's been renovated ever. Could use a reno. Maybe bring it into the 21st century! Our room didn't get serviced ever. We got clean towels and the rubbish emptied. That was it in the 10 nights we stayed. The restaurant was never open. Didn't bother checking out the pool. Seemed to be on skeleton staff. Only saw 2/3 staff members the whole time. Our room had cockroaches and spiders. Needs work to the plumbing, heating, and the flooring in the bathroom was water damaged and coming up in the corner.
Sadly l would not recommend this Motel, Meals advertised being available Dinner Pizza - Not available Paid for breakfast- Not available Room had bad musty smell Holes in carpet Room was not ready when we were given a specific time to book in. Can not give a positive rating on a very dirty, misleading advertisement of Motor Inn. Definitely NOT RECOMMEND
You certainly get what you pay for. Was quite disappointed with my stay. Bed and pillows were hard, not much sleep here. Very outdated. The bedrooms are upstairs but toilet downstairs. I would not recommend this place and I won't stay here again.
Pleasantly surprised on the quality of the place for the price. Had a newly renovated room, looks like they are in the process of doing them all. Me and the family had a great stay.
As others have said, this motel is very tired and in need of refurbishment. However, the price reflects that and there is a functional, indoor, pool. In our room the washbasin, mirror, etc were located outside the bathroom that only contained a shower and toilet. The doonas were also very thin and the heatbank only just adequate. We also could not find any wi-fi password inside our room and there was no guest information compendium. So perhaps we might have given this facility just a one or two star rating, but it deserves better because of outstanding customer service from the reception staff member on duty. Our booking was botched (not the fault of Village), but the very helpful staff member assisted to obtain a refund from the booking engine and then also found us a room after much ringing around as it was a fully booked date. Great credit for such helpful and patient service. Well done.
My stay at The Village family motor in was awful. I paid $130 for a room that was a disaster. There were dirty dishes, random clothes, rubbish under the beds, and half eaten garlic bread, left from the person before us. And the walls were disgusting too! It's like they didn't even bother cleaning before we got there just remade the beds. When I complained, they only gave me $20 and a cheap bottle of wine worth $12. Totally unacceptable. Definitely not worth the money. Better off finding a different place to stay. It's beyond me how any hotel could be so unprofessional as to leave a room in such a state. It's not just disappointing. it's downright disgusting. I can't believe how they're still in business with rooms like this. It's utterly ridiculous and unacceptable. Guests should be able to expect a certain level of cleanliness and professionalism when they're paying good money for a room. This experience has left me questioning the standards of this hotel and seriously reconsidering whether I'll ever stay there again. Frankly, I can confidently say I'll never be booking a room there in the future.
Totally disappointed. Beds uncomfortably, only small cups for coffee, milk frozen in fridge, says meals at night, NO Meals, says paid breakfast, NO breakfast. Very smelly outside the door form either cats or possums. Plumbing from makes very loud noise. NOT HAPPY JAN. NOT Recommend.
It was good value for money
Very good place. Kids loves it. Place was big, we love it. We just wish the heater can heat the whole place, but unfortunately, it can only heat (warm) upstairs when its really cold. Also, there’s a strong smell when you open the door, between kitchen and toilet/shower room. Can’t describe the smell, but very strong. Also, if you will need to cook, you must bring your own pan/sauce pan as those ones inside the kitchen cupboard was rusty/old. We don’t mind it for 1 day stay though. We’ll definetely book again, one day 👍 #Room17
I nearly turned around and walked away as I opened the door , the carpet had a hole in it ,was fraying , and putrid stains ,it smelt stale, mouldy ,the beds were hard as a rock , old .The updates in shower was cheap ,nasty , very sloppy . And the pool, what can I say , I couldnt see the bottom, or sides , nothing when I was under water, the water was very cloudy , id hate to see what a water quality test showed ! Needless to say I only went in once ! Its really a bloody shambles, old is old , cant do much ,but dirty is just plain lazy , u need to lift your game !
not too bad! everything was very good!
設備齊,水龍頭要很用力才可打開。
Dirty and squeeky room, little for expensive price, noisy ratchet partying neighbours
The Village Family Motor Inn is a budget offering in Launceston. The reception staff were efficient if not particularly friendly. I stayed one night on my way back to QLD , due to price point and its proximity to the airport. As others have mentioned, the motel is dated and the rooms and facilities are old . However, my room was perfectly adequate, clean, comfortable bed, good roomy shower , and quite a nice view. Note that it is on a quite busy road so there is some traffic noise. I slept well however. The restaurant and bar is closed ( permanently? ) and no breakfast available. There are no food outlets nearby, so need to drive a bit to get dinner. Other than this, I was satisfied with my accommodation. It’s not fancy, but for $100 a night ( solo) I thought it good value. Location is about 5-8 mins drive south of the CBD.
Very pleasant stay lovely hosts
I will never forget the pungent odour upon opening the door. It's a combination of mould, stale cigarette, and vape smoke. Dilapidated, run down, it's 2am, and we can't wait to get out of the smell! Im actually surprised the health authorities have not closed the place down. The smell of the room, will be with me for a while, musty, mouldy kind of smell. We were backed into a corner, Launceston was fully booked!!! No Restaurant either.
Great family getaway...pool sauna spa kids gaming room, pool table and more ... Very comfortable beds ...enjoyed the 2 nights we stayed and great budget accommodation couldn't get more if you wantwd
Poor standard of accommodation. Very tired property that needs to close down. Poorly maintained. Do not recommend.
Overall room size was decent. The tiny balcony was a nice touch sadly the hand rail isnt safe for children. The negatives are: no flyscreen to allow fresh air coming in, bed uncomfortable, pillows horrible, bathroom well very tiny very outdated, tea and coffee area behind the main door also opposite the bathroom health hazard, Room finishes are outdated, floor uneven, had to request towels received 2 for 3 people. The cons: childrens playground was good sadly some attention to detail is needed, a saftey issue at the bottom of a slide, gamea arcade was nice. Mixed view's : the signs stated the pool is heated in reality its freezing cold, the area needs updating, the spa only works on certain days this isn't mentioned anywhere, the hand rails aren't up to saftey standards, the restaurant not even opened such a shame place Ridiculously noisy over night between the highway near by and the frieght planes over night hardly any sleep
The staff were lovely, the rooms were simple but just fine for our family, and the kids loved the pool. We will happily stay again next time we are in Launceston
I have nothing good to say about this motel. It’s old and very outdated. The beds are hard and should be changed, the seating in the lounge was dirty and rock hard. The repairs carried out over the years seem to be very amateurish. Cigarette Smoke from the deck wafted through to our room, no fly screens so windows cannot be left open and no aircon made it uncomfortable to sleep in the hot weather. To top it all off cockroaches got into the food. Would not recommend this motel to anyone.
Looks like it was built in the 70s and nothing has been done since. OK location wise but at $200 a night, expect much more. More like $80
No soap, no shampoo or shower gel, spider, no wifi n no response from reception.
First review I have ever written, EVER, for anything. DO NOT waste your time & money, this place is dreadful. Just stayed for 3 nights for urgent work requirement, only place with vacancy in town. It's very very noisy being on a hill between the main highway into the city & a busy suburban uphill road & under the airport flight path - flights leaving at 3am are no fun as they fly overhead, the rooms are really grubby, torn/stained/gritty carpets - house keepers don't even do half a reasonable job not even topping up conditioner etc - tea & sugar & milk. No air con, the bed kinda made in the morning. The wall cladding in the shower was falling from the wall, and the shower/toilet room smelled really stale and mouldy. The kicker for me? (or should I say scratcher) are small bites in my armpits. Never, ever again. I'd rather sleep sitting in the work vehicle somewhere.
We stayed herefor four nights on a family holiday consisting of four adults. The only thing that was ok was the showerr and clean towels. As for everything else it is about 30 years out of date .strip lights all over the place, torn furniture and curtains which were not even a pair. I took the toaster out of the cupboard on the first morning and crumbs fell all over the floor, they stayed there for four days the apartment was never cleaned.|Also the bar was supposed to be open Monday to Saturday, I went and asked Saturday night if the bar was open and the reply was o no we don't open it ""
We visited Launceston for three days for whilst travelling around sightseeing. We had a double room with a queen bed. Room was clean and everything worked. Shower had good pressure and heat. The staff were friendly and the location was great for what we wanted.
Absolutely discusting!! The bathrooms were just discusting, stinky and mouldy, paint peeling. Looked like a junkie had been living there fo 10 years!. Nothing was clean, the fresh towel had black eye make up all over it. Beds and pillows rock hard. No airconditioning and rooms were stinking hot, fan didnt work. The pool are was discusting too. No way was it worth $150 a night. I wouldnt even stay for free again. They need to close this hotel down, if the health inspecter ever came he wouuld never pass it.
Old dated and dirty lounge chairs stained and looks like someone has wet themselves. Television about 20 years old, should purchase smart TV. In-house phones don't work. Crap coffee in room (international roast) and all this for $170 per night. Advertise breakfast included but not available, all in all probably the worst place lve stayed at in the last 20 years
Big nope. In summery the place is old and falling apart. Everywhere you look something is broken or falling apart. Beds are old, broken, uncomfortable and stained. Linen and pillows are not nice. Questionable cleaning, zero maintenance and safety concerns. Lots of road noise. No bar/restaurant, long closed down. Not enough linen/ towels. The place needs to be shut down and fully renovated or completely knocked down. You definitely could do better.
'Family run' is a bit of a stretch. Seemed like a skeleton crew to us as Reception was stationed by one person who leaves at 8. It's also confusing to find the restaurant/bar not running despite it not being 'off season'. The rooms are dated and almost adequate but could use several upgrades, namely the mattresses and flooding shower. Also no in-room phone for some reason and the television wouldn't even turn on. Pool/spa is very basic and there's no seating but did seem relatively clean. Kids games room only has expensive arcade games, and playground is extremely old school and could probably use an upgrade to keep the kiddos safe. Our particular night was a sleepless one because of the rowdy neighbours. I mean, these blokes were breaking things, fighting, cursing and vomiting all night surrounded by sleepless families. Frankly it was scary and we knew nobody was at reception to help. Pretty sure our stay was on a Saturday night so maybe don't book around the weekends, if at all.
Based on our experience, I could not recommend this hotel under any circumstances. It was completely inappropriate for a family stay. Apartment was dark, dirty and in generally poor repair. Smelt of cigarette smoke and stale food. Very limited hot water in shower and taps dripped continuously. Beds were rock hard. Smoke alarms didn’t appear sufficient. Windows in children’s rooms opened freely enough to pose a falls / entrapment risk. Nil barriers on bunk beds to stop children falling or getting trapped. Pool complex was in reasonable condition apart from the apparently used toilet paper in the corner of the spa.
The place over all was extremely dirty. We accidentally spilt water on the carpet and mopped it up and was disgusted to find it was that dirty it turned the white towel dark yellow like urine. The bathroom sink and bench still had sticky toothpaste from previous guests and the taps and plumbing pipes leaked, the shower was dirty and not cleaned properly, the furniture is broken and the TV didn't work, the clothes dryer doesn't work, the wellness centre that they advertise would do you better to stay well away, the games room is expensive, the pool is dirty and not heated like it's advertised and the bar and bistro doesn't exist even though it's advertised on signs at the front when you drive in and advertised in their guest book in their rooms and they let animals in their rooms when they say animals are not allowed.
Absolute disgusting.. mould on the carpets, gum on the bunk beds, and a foul smell. The bunk beds are wobbly and bound to break any day now and no ladder so you have to manoeuvre your way up and down. I won't even start with the kitchen, absolutely feral and rusted. The restaurant is just non existent and reading some reviews it apparently hasn't been operating for over 2 months. The roads are very noisy and you won't get a single second of silence. Won't be recommending or coming back.
Overall an okay stay if you want to be close to things and have something for the kids to do. Overall cleanliness of the place is well below average
Very good non expensive stay, need extra pillows in rooms, pool and spa was great, we enjoyed it

Hands down the worst room I stayed in while visiting Tasmania, No A/C in the room, basin taps leaking, taps very hard to turn, shower leaking, room smelling of bleach when first arrived, had to air room to be habitable. TV way to small and not HD so only has 3 channels, kids game room had lots of machines to play but all switched off, pool says open till 9pm but closed and locked early, now dealing with disappointed children. Room booked for 4 people only had cutlery for 3. Good location, average price, great view from our room, quiet,
Very old fashion motel, going back in the 90s. It’s run down and very neglected. No shampoo, no conditioner, no hair dryer.. these are every day essentials and all we had were empty bottles, not happy Jan!!! Would not be staying next time round.
