I lost my wallet near Waxy last night and Beatriz went out of her way to contact me to let me know it got handed in, and then take it to the police station for me to collect. Really appreciate it!

Great Irish pub, great food, fantastic service from a young lady called Samiah, always smiling and very helpful. Made the experience great.

This is a pub which is quite different from the typical restaurants. You take a seat on your own because nobody is going to usher you, order foods at the inner counter, and order drinks at the bar. After ordering the food, the cashier will give you a number sign that the server can deliver the food to your seat. Besides, there are also soft drinks available such as Coke, Sprite, Ginger Beer ($6.5), and soda water etc. Sichuan Pepper Calamari ($18): They are cut into slices instead of rings but I still enjoyed its succulent and crispy texture. It tastes superb, sour, and piquant with Sichuan pepper sauce. Curly Fries ($12): In my opinion, the texture is so much better than the regular chips. They are also very crunchy, salty, and at great portions. Both ketchup and aioli sauce the fries pretty well. In conclusion, the interior design is quite delicate, classic, wide, and there are a lot of seats, TV playing sports, and even pool tables near the front door. Fast delivery speed, great service attitude, approachable prices, large portions, and the music played represents the style of the pub. Overall, it’s definitely a 10 out of 10!

We had a great time at Waxy's last Sunday. Kilkenny and their Sunday rump special went down a treat. The pub has a great vibe, the staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our night.

The atmosphere is phenomenal! I couldn’t be happier with the experience they’ve provided, the food was top notch and just the people on a Saturday night were soo nice to be around, singing songs, playing games, sharing stories and laughs! It was sooo good

Had bangers and mash on “special” my wife picked this as well. We got 1 sausage and some mashed potato. We complained and the Indian manager and the Indian chefs did not want to know about it. We asked who the owner was and they still would not tell us. Best to go to the pub on the next corner with the bells and get meal . I certainly do not recommend this for a meal

You can't go wrong with an $8 steak

Dry schnitzel, bland pizza and got Mayo and tomato with my sweet potato fries instead of sour cream and chili jam. Waste of money.

In the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise, we came across Waxy's Irish Pub. We had a great meal here, and when we come north again, we will come back.

We recently hosted our “End of Year Celebration” for MCCGC (Multicultural Communities Gold Coast) at the Skyline Rooftop Bar, and it was an incredible evening! A special thank you to Hope Shine, the Marketing & Functions Manager, who supported us from our first inquiry and created a stunning ambiance that our staff thoroughly enjoyed. We also extend our gratitude to Alastair Reade, the General Manager, and his amazing team, who were attentive and accommodating throughout the night. The event was a huge success, with fantastic feedback from everyone who attended. 10 years later, another visit to Waxys and it didn't disappoint. My favourite bar in Surfers with the best staff.

Nice Guinness. But get ready for the bite. $8 steaks and $8 schnitzel’s are actually minimum 1 side for $5. Chips is one side. Salad is another side. Sauce is $3 per sauce. So your starting point is $13. 2 x schnitzel with chips on one. And chips and salad is actually $37. Then get ready for the manager to rip into you about complaining it’s predatory pricing. “I’ll refund you if you don’t come back” then get ready for them to say you’re ‘aggressive’ when complaining. Can’t believe it has a 4.1 rating. Went to Fin McCools and asked “Does anyone complain about Waxys. I got a polite “I’ve heard they improved”. The politest response I could imagine.

Great food

Was on holiday (13/11) with my daughter and mother and had told them about this place as every year I go with my husband and we always have a meal here. Turned up and within 2 minutes fell down hard on the wooden floors landing on both knees. A table full of customers all had a great laugh while staff were either side stepping or walking over top of me, meanwhile I was on the verge or tears. Absolutely not one staff member came to see if I was ok or anything. Used to love the vibe here but have been out off majorly. Didn’t want to leave a review but after 3 weeks and a message sent to them on instagram with no reply it’s pissed me off not to mentioned ruined the rest of our holiday because I was too sore to walk anywhere. A simple apology or offer of ice would of been nice

Bouncer has not let me in multiple times from a previous night incident purely because I am of colour, racist pub, terrible prices genuine eye gouge, terrible food, horrible service, couldn’t recommend a pub less, go literally anywhere else you will find better service trust me 🙏, Go to 7/11 you could find better service their. Or anywhere else for that matter. I would give it a 0 if I could however 1 is the lowest I could go

Terrible place, the bouncer was racist because I was aboriginal and would give 0 stars if I could! My friend had one drink and wouldn’t let us in because we were a different race! Also the pub was a terrible atmosphere and drinks were so over priced!! They barely poured a shot of vodka into my drink and the pokis were a scam!! Don’t go there !!

Terrible service and overpriced

Middle of the day was quiet but still a nice atmosphere. Our starter came at the same time as the mains which was annoying. We did say it was a starter but obviously not acted on. Food was as expected.

***** UPDATE***** To their credit, Waxy’s lovely restaurant manager Beatrice made a point of actively seeking me out in the crowd and personally apologising once again for the terrible dining experience. She felt terrible that I hadn’t eaten because after two returned meals I’d lost my appetite, and offered me a gift card to come back and dine at a later time once again apologising for the substandard service. That right there is customer service. Realising and acknowledging that there is a problem and actively taking steps to make amends. I wish more venues would be brave enough to own up to their shortcomings in such a way. Well done Waxy’s - Beatrice is a gold star credit to you. A large booking for over 60 people was made many months ago, and so therefore plenty of opportunity to staff your kitchen accordingly for the evening. I ordered a chicken parmigiana and it came out scorched black underneath with the ham and cheese covering to top burned section. I returned it and you apologised agreeing to replace it. The replacement was just as burnt! It was inedible. I had to ask for my money back and the lovely young lady was very agreeable and apologetic. The chef saw me again also and said he would cook It again but - REALLY? A schnitzel? You can’t cook a simple schnitzel? At least 3 others we saw come out were also black. Beyond disappointed.

A bit hit and miss. Security is confusing, sometimes they scan your ID, sometimes they don't, seems to be a QLD thing. Live music but the quality varies, one night it was great the next night not so great.

I had the schnitzel and it was the smallest schnitzel I have ever seen. It looked like a chicken tender. Not good.

During my stay in gold coast, Waxys became our default place to visit for drinks.

The steak was delicious, so juicy... just the way I like it. Molly made me feel so welcome and went above and beyond with customer service. Thank you.

Was not let when being 18 years old. Had people who were 18 lose their IDs. Security are losing business and potential customers. Go anywhere else.

Friday fish and chips was very disappointing, fish was smaller than a crab stick.

I haven't eaten here. The beers are cold and cocktails are good. The live music was awesome.

A trip from SA, this was a little hidden gem with $8 rumps on a Wednesday we discovered! By far the best meal we’ve had since holidaying here in surfers. Mushroom sauce is incredible, and the fact I got to add $$ vegetables and salad to my meal without having chips was a winner! The vegetables were cooked to perfection with that crunch! The salad had a delicious dressing that was not over powering and everything tasted fresh! Great serving sizes for the special deals!

Yeah the security guard no. 292. threw a bottle at my head after something didn’t even do? Someone else was jokingly fiddling with something and he threw a bottle which directly clocked me in the head. i mean either way if someone was doing something wrong, what gives them the right to throw a bottle? Yeah and the other security there tried to back him like i was in the wrong. Not good service

Security guard 292 should NOT be allowed to continue as a security Gaurd. At 8:15pm on Saturday, security guard 292 threw a water bottle at my mates head, upon entry (I’d love if they provide a the video footage to prove this misconduct). I went to talk to the security guard mentioning that he should NOT be doing that in such circumstances. Under Australian regulations and industry standards, security guards are expected to maintain professional conduct and handle situations with restraint and respect. According to the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL) and state-specific guidelines, security personnel must avoid any form of physical aggression or unprofessional behavior. The actions of security guard 292 directly contravene these standards. He should be removed from his position as it is not acceptable or safe for people who choose to enter the venue.

Myself, partner and daughter had lunch (Mondays schnitzel meal) and it was absolutely insane. Everything was cooked to perfection and not a single thing wrong. We were all so full and left very happy indeed. Would 100% recommend to anyone. Hats off to the chef and thankyou to the lovely wait staff

Live music, large outdoor area, pokies(slot machines) in the rear. One shot of rum was $14.00. They have specials. It's average price for the area.

Great place for a quiet drink

Quality and economy in one hit. A wee pearl - randomly discovered and had the most fabulous feed - couldn’t fault the $8 steak special. super tasty meal. Shared a plate of the calamari, melt in your mouth. Would be back in a heartbeat.

We walked up to the bar and they just said no… no harm done or anything, just profiling to it’s finest. Was just trying to celebrate my good friends marriage and when we walked anywhere near the front they just said no.

A great place for a cool drink on a hot day.

Went in for pre-dinner drink. Charged $20 for house gin and tonic. I queried the price but the male indian staff member said it's correct. Ridiculously high drinks pricing. No drink menu which is frustrating as I couldn't check price after overcharge. The man ordering next to me also questioned his expensive drink order. Nice venue.

The best Irish pub in town. Pool tables up the front and sport screens. Large outdoor area and great live music. Some of the cheapest food deals getting around for the best feed. Large pokies room out the back and always good for a Guiness!

I just got served the smallest thinnest chicken schnitty I've ever had. The photo's say it all. Will NOT be coming back

2024年7月訪問。 曜日毎にスペシャルメニューがある。訪問した日はチキンのシュニッツェルだったので注文してみたが、写真の通りビジュアルも今一つ、ボリュームも今ひとつでちょっと期待外れだった。また、ビールは料理とは別にバーカウンターで注文する必要があるが、飲み物のメニューがなくどのビールがいくらなのかがわからないため、一つ一つこれはいくらか？と店員に聞かなくてはならず困った。
