Caught up with some friends for Sunday lunch. We’re greeted by Jack who showed us to our table. What a lovely lad, very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the pork belly. OMG it was delicious. I am usually a Schnitty person but so glad I tried something new. Again, Jack was a breath of fresh air. Customer service 10/10

Staff were average but not bad. Drinks were dear but was able to get cheaper from next bar. Pokie bar Champagne $12 next bar $9. Christies Pokies bar $9.

Good service plenty of staff working but tried to order a meal and it wasn't available on the night (chicken mignon) Also shame they don't accept Seniors card at all.

Meet up with friend for a meal and a drink. Great venue. Wasn't really busy in the bistro was a Monday night. My friend who were not familiar with the hotel commented on how well signed it was

Great food been coming here for years

The hotel offers good value for money. Priced at $150 per room, it was conveniently located near our private event. While modernized, the accommodations are relatively basic. The pub’s renovations are appealing, and the function room is well-designed. Excellent customer service throughout the hotel was greatly appreciated.

Just had your fabulous pie, which we were thrilled with last month. The beef pie was just as good as the chicken and mushroom. Service friendly, efficient, swift and most appreciated. 5 stars.

Food was great with very friendly service

Come here again and again. The food before was delicious. Now it is just OK. Just needs a little attention to detail to be excellent. Like a little more time cooking the roast lamb. Change the sauce on the steak sandwich. A little less time on the deep fried prawns. Staff are always cheerful and friendly 😄

Fodd was a bit expensive for a front bar meal but was good quality

Just went for the steak and a bottle of wine, I have stayed here before, and it's a great little place. If you could do a pub stay would be great even if I had to prove I was from interstate.

The best Garlic prawns, loads of sauce, rice but ask for extra garlic bread sticks for sauce dipping, yum yum

Thought seat covers in garden could have been clean ,they were filthy with stains on them

Haven't been here in years. Thought we would come here for a catch up with a mate and don't regret it. Food and service was amazing. Love the reno's.

My family (a group of 19 plus 2 high chairs) dined at your hotel last Thursday evening to celebrate my githday. Service provided by Jack was outstanding. He was so friendly and helpful and was great with the young children. We sat in the atrium which is great for a group like we had. Plenty of room for everyone to move around. Earlier this month sixteen residents of a local Retirement Village had lunch at your venue. All were very happy with our meal. Our drinks were different. One man went to the dining room bar and ordered a glass of house wine and paid with a debit card. A couple of days later his wife noticed on her statement that they had been charged $22. Thinking surely this was an error she phoned and the response she received was maybe he had a double drink poured. I can assure you this was not the case, and even so surely $11 for a glass of house white wine is not correct. We dine out as a group around every six weeks, and around our area, but because of this the residents don't wish to return to your venue at a future date.

Wow, usual rudeness from manager.. ordered squid and received shoe leather, second plate of squid cooked, leather again.. Daughters meal was inedible grilled chicken that was dry on the outside and had uniform fake grill marks pressed into it.. vegetable bowl was full of slime covered broccoli 🥦 obviously few days old had taken shape of bowl .. really disappointing and so so dam funny interacting with the spineless dweeb MANAGER 😂😂😂bah hahaha Oh well, clearly corners cut since the odd renovation.. he clearly doesn’t read reviews or listen to what people are saying in the south… I had to ask for a serrated knife to cut through the squid lol I asked if chef could have a quick taste, the dweeb said to me.. “oh is that what I have to do” in the most sarcastic hysterical tone… we were first customers and our meals took over half an hour to cook lol… The Bird in Hand was wonderful 🥂

The staff is very friendly, the meals beautiful the prices allow even a family and low inkome earners to get a superp meal. What also impressed us: Dining times where other Kitchens would were closed after Lunch!!!

Had a chicken schnitzel on Sunday, haven’t been since before the renovations, used to love their chicken schnitzels and mushroom gravy, used to come every couple of weeks at one point. Until It was too hard with the kids, honestly can’t say there anywhere near as good anymore, my Partner enjoyed the pork belly, chips also could use a little bit more cooking,

Great place to catch up or stay

Went out for tea last night 7th July, the food was excellent and plenty of it. The Staff could not be faulted they were courteous and obliging and the meals came out really quickly after we had all ordered. Thank you for the service it was my 82nd Birthday and two of my Grand Children's birthday, so very special. Myself and Family will most definately recommend the The Lonny for a good night out. Further to this review, I have recommended friends who agree with me. On September the 8th, my Family and I came again for my Grand Daughters birthday. There was 20 of us Again great food, excellent service courteous staff. Thank you once again from all of us. You are definitely our favourite watering hole, and my other friends agree . . ... Worst management ever in all of its history. Unprofessional and poor ethics. Racist comments and mistreatment of customers will not return. Even his comments on here show his Unprofessional conduct.

I decided to attend the Lonsdale hotel around 6:30pm, ordered a chicken schnitzel with salad. But I was joined by an unexpected guest, (see picture below) quite disappointed to be honest. I informed staff and they were apologetic, but I was expecting a refund that was not given.

One of the waitresses we had was quite rude. even went as far as rolling her eyes when we requested something simple.

Refurbished doesn't cover the rebuilding of the Bistro area. Meals are reasonable value, with schnitzels a bargain. Even busy, staff are everywhere!

I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, however the accommodation is right near the smoking area of the gaming section. Despite a sign saying patrons should limit their time to 15 minutes in this area, this is not monitored by staff and it meant for at least two hours between around 2-4am, I was kept awake by loud group of men. The bistro was good, but I would not recommend staying here.

First visit to this southern district hotel for lunch last Saturday. We were seated in the pavilion room which was much quieter than the main dining area even with a birthday party nearby. The meals were served promptly and were served by friendly staff. Meal size was large for the price and well cooked and presented. Compliments to the chef!

First time in the place, never again. They barely have vegan options. I had to get the mushroom salad thinking I would get a decent meal. Never have I been so disappointed in terms of food. It was 3 mushrooms topped with pumpkin puree and the salad was green beans, brocolini and rocket. Overall, it was pricey ($28) and absolutely bland. Sweet potato chips were good but it was not enough to be considered a dinner. It made the dinner experience really unsatisfying. People dining with me had brisket and they also were not very pleased with their meals. Huge portions, but the pieces were mostly fat and not enough meat for the $42 paid for it. The bartender and front of the house were friendly and helpful, though.

**Edit 2024. This place has tried to be more posh. Not a single vegan option now expect for a salad. It's 2024 chuck an eggplant parmy on or something. Also bit of vegan cheese easy. Poor form. Update: got the mushroom salad, $30 for an unseasoned mushroom on a bed of unseasoned green beans. The meat eaters are happy with the size of their ribs though, so reckon that's where the budgets gone to. ---Previous Review--- Best vegan meal for a non vegan restaurant ever. The curry was the bomb and the chef did a great job. 👍

The bed was comfortable and the room clean but the join between the wall and the roof has cracks in numerous places, its in need of improviement. I was awoken at 3 am by a rackett cased by patrons milling outside the gaming area for some time, after waiting for it to qieten down I had to resort to calling management twice to have security resolve the noise problem.

Food was pricey for what it was but have never paid so much for a drink. $10 for a light beer. Is definitely not affordable. Paid $7 at another hotel Saturday

Always a good feed . Extention looks great

This was a big disappointment - very bland flavour and just incredibly oily. This was the first time in a long time we actually couldn't eat it, and when the wait staff asked how it was, there didn't seem to be much interest that we found it inedible. There is also almost nothing for vegetarians - just a mushroom salad, a halloumi salad, or a margherita cheese pizza. I would not want to go here again. However, the recent renovations are nice and I like the fireplace in the middle. I'd consider going again only if there was a complete do-over of the menu with attention to quality ingredients.

We came for dinner this evening, we had mixed grill. It was really nice, service was excellent, staff were really professional. Especially Jack who had an excellent phone manner when we booked. He was extremely helpful and friendly.🙂

located at sherrifs road, we had a chicken parmi and chicken burger both were delicious and filling, would recommend to make reservations for dinner and for lunch if its a big table. there is outdoor seating as well. service was quick staff were helpful and accommodating.
