Exceptional meal with local ingredients. Great portion size.

We had a disappointing meal here on Valentine's Day. For the expense, I found the food to be underwhelming. Service was a bit slow (the restaurant was very busy however).

Dined at Kwan Ho with 3 friends. Food and service were amazing. HUGE shout out to Feny, she’s was so lovely and gave a great suggestions on what to do in Hobart. Management should be congratulated on employing Feny, she is a star!

Amazing quality food; the pepper steak and Singapore noodles were absolutely incredible. There are plenty of gluten-free options available. The service was excellent as well.

Food is not authentic at all. Good view though.

Awesome standard for food and service, many fresh seafood choices. A must try. Lift is available for persons needing it, open spaced restaurant with room for wheelchairs not cramped at all.

Air conditioning was cold. Food was acceptable but frozen peas, corn and carrots in the fried rice was reminiscent of a tired RSL Buffet. Service was good. Tables and chairs need replacing. Paid for premium banquet. Not value for money. Could not recommend to others based on this experience.

All dishes cooked to perfection. The most attentive staff of any restaurant we have been to, all with a great view. Highly recommended 👌

Very nice authentic Chinese restaurant besides the casino entrance. Brought our own Lobster and they prepared it wonderfully, along with many other dishes. Would definitely recommend.

Food was good but not authentic. Attentive service. We were sat near a sloping column.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner, all of which included a great view, lovely service and delicious food. We ordered squid , fried rice and chilli chicken. We couldn't fault anything and we will definitely be enjoying future dinners here so we can try more of the menu.

It’s the second time we have been to this restaurant, if you are looking for an outstanding dining experience then do yourself a favor and give them a try. The food is delicious and the service is industry leading. Well, done Kwan Ho team!

Wow 10/10 for location just stunning, from there though.... Maybe I'm compltely spoilt being from Melbourne BUT the food was mediocre and WAY overpriced. We ordered their special Oysters which came out in the shells but had been battered and deep fried with a very bland tomato based sauce??? Erm ok strange... Our rice was super bland also and dry. Cocktails were nice enough i suppose and staff seemed super polite and eager to please but not entirely happy to be there. Kinda wished we went to the Smokehouse instead, also the decor needs a serious upgrade, its dated and it was quite cold where we were sitting. Wrest Point has had a nice facelift, seems like they left these guys behind a little bit.

I want to start off by saying the view was amazing! The staff and service was excellent as well. My partner and I felt very looked after. What let this place down in my opinion was the food. While nothing was bad at all, the flavour just was very bland/subtle. We had the classic banquet and wanted to try a lot of different dishes and flavours but the flavour just wasn't there in anything except the calamari. Another thing to note is that the air con was quite cold for a mild 18 degree evening. Again, the staff were lovely and we're very apologetic that they couldn't change the heating as it is centrally controlled. Apparently there have been a few complaints about this issue before us.

Friendly, courteous staff. Great service. Great views of tasman bridge and surrounds. Extensive menu catering for vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. Modest prices for tastelicious dishes. High end prices for very posh dishes like lobster and crayfish dishes. Took Mum for lunch to kwan ho for her 80th birthday. She liked her lunch, service and view. Opulent Chinese entrance and interior. Free parking in Wrest point carpark.

The food here is very good and the view outside is lovely. It is a very nicely situated restaurant. The vegetarian spring rolls were excellent and different to normal as stuffed with mushrooms and the sauce also was different and very yummy. We had for the main pink ling fish steamed with tomato and something else. I think this was the best dish the fish was beautifully cooked with a lovely flavour. We also had eye fillet wok tossed with black bean and tomato paste and vegetable fried rice. All the food was excellent and for a special night out eating Chinese this is a good restaurant. The only thing that was negative was that the staff did not smile or seem happy. Their service was good but not happy. So I have given four stars not five. Cost $$-$$$

點了炒飯，炒麵，牛仔骨，鮮蝦煲。最最失望的是炒飯，炒飯是微波的，沒鍋氣，炒麵油！牛仔骨就7-8小片肉，配一根完全不匹配的大骨頭？！服務生倒茶整壺倒出來，前台男生態度非常差！

I was brought here for dinner. My friend talked about the banquet and was very excited about it. When I saw him him it was like 8 pm I said we should double check what time they stop doing them. Well we arrived at like 9 pm They had already stopped. So we ordered a few things off the menus we hard crab an pork Xiao long bao. We also had the steamed scallops, they both where fantastic. For the main dishes we shared sat and pepper squid, it was nice it was a little spicy but not over powering. We also had the kind prawns with ginger and chilli. Was super tasty. Then we had the pork and sausage friend ride. Really recommend this restaurant

We ordered takeaway off the vast menu. Fantastic food, with a menu that is different to most Chinese restaurants. We had the prawn dumplings, pork dumplings and veggie spring rolls. I had the eggplant stuffed with pork mince. Wow. The braised Lamb was great as well and a large steamed rice. The serves are very large. The whole meal was under $100. If you want something different Kwan Ho is the place to go.

Service was good. food not worth the money. Views over Derwent river is what your paying for. Otherwise would not recommend.

Je conseil vivement ce restaurant ! Nous nous sommes régalé ! Nous avons pris un apéritif chaud à partagé qui était excellent et un plat de nouilles chacun. Le service est génial et la vue sur Sandy bay et Hobart est géniale. Le prix est très convenable au vu de la quantité et de la qualité du repas.

Food was delicious till I asked about the abalone at $25 dollars for one hindered grams as stated on the menu Thinking that I would be charged as per hundred grams , no that is not the case you need to but minimum 1kg at a cost of $250 dollars that is false advertising at its best , if you want to be honest with people you should just put in your menu it will cost $250 for abalone I actually didn’t even get to main meals , Iam not one to ever complain about paying for a good meal but to be lead to believe I could try abalone for $25 one hundred grams , never again

Honestly the service and atmosphere in this restaurant is awesome, but the food is disappointed. The food is not good, tasteless, and over price. I won’t come again, sorry..

Great tasting and authentic Chinese cuisine on the finer end. The portions were perfectly sized and very tasty. There was a wide selection of dishes to choose from. The staff were very friendly and provided very good service. Would 100% recommend to visit.

The fried rice was good, enough serving which is good for 3 pax. Garlic pork ribs was tasteful as well. We ate as soon as they opened around 5:30 PM so maybe that’s why the vibe was still lousy. Service was ok. 8/10. Would recommend.

Lovely pork bao buns and chui mei followed by asparagus prawns. Then the katsu ice cream which was a mistake, it contained coconut which was not listed on the menu. As I'm allergic a big mistake. I was able to remove the biscuit but it altered the taste of the dish.

We went to Kwan Ho as I wanted to take my mum to a place with nice view. We started with nice Hot and Sour Soup, delicious chilli herbs chicken. The Crab & Truffle fried rice was okay but not great, and we needed more dishes. We then ordered Mushroom & Chicken Soup and Mapo Tofu that way too salty even to eat with fried rice. Not sure how it went downhill, but I wasn't expecting that at all for the price tag. The waitress wasn't rude, but she is not a hospitable person for sure.

Wonderful food

Absolutely amazing food. I had the chilli broth eye fillet and it was to die for. Service very good also, lovely selection of wines too. Will be back when in Hobart again

Simply delicious! Authentic Chinese food . Were staying at Wrest Point Hotel and decided to try it after walking passed it twice. We didn’t have any ideas what to expect and thought maybe it’s just another Chinese Restaurant. Boy we were wrong! The 3 dishes that we randomly ordered were scrumptious ! One of the best restaurants that we’ve been to. The chefs have done a good job. Keep it up! Will definitely be back again when we’re here for our next holiday.

I can only echo everyone else. The banquet is just perfect. The service is friendly, genuine and great. The atmosphere is great. Its just the best place....

WOW, we had planned for my partner birthday to go to a place in town, sadly closed Tuesday. Drove around didn't see anything that caught our eye. Came back to the casino and ate here. We were delighted that we made this choice. Our hostess Karen was amazing, exceptional service and if we still had our hotel complex we would hire her in a heartbeat. The food was sensational, a starter of Moreton Bay Bugs was perfect followed by Sweet Sour Chicken and XiXiang Pork (nice and spicy) which were beautifully salubrious. It's a three hour drive from home to get here and we'll be back for sure.

We dined here on 03/01/23. We thoroughly enjoyed a classic banquet for two at a cost of $65 per head. There was plenty of enjoyable well presented food with a great view to enjoy whilst dining.

The starter which was a pork bun was good Unfortunately everything else was really bad. Pork with chilli was very dry. Also sweet sour chicken was soggy. Very loud music with heavy bass coming from the downstairs bar on Friday evening around 8 pm drowned out any conversation. Very poor

This was my second visit to Kwan Ho restaurant and just as the first time it was amazing. My wife and I chose the classic banquet option and literally every dish was delicious. The service in this place is so good, the staff are friendly and attentive. If I am ever in Hobart again I will be definitely be back.

Walked in at 9:40pm and no one was at the reception. Waited over 15 mins and had to walk in and find a table where the staff was seated to ask whether the restaurant was open. Received only one word back “No”. Stay away, would not visit again.

Had a brilliant meal here. Authentic Chinese food. The 2 of us went with the banquet for 2. Fabulous. Missing from photos is the sweet and sour pork. 😢 Will certainly be back.

Very dissapointed in our 2022 banquet last night. There were 6 of us and we are all well traveled foodys. One of the dishes was inedible. 2 others looked and tasted like a food cafeteria . Made a booking 1 week prior for the 26th of Dec with no issues. Turns out venue is closed today on the 26th even though online it says they’re open. No courtesy call to inform us, just let us book anyway.

Very very good food but some of them are really salty. We ordered the sweet and sour pork but it was so salty I had to get up during the middle of the night to get a drink of water. The staff was also not very friendly. We went there and we stood at the front desk for a solid 10 minute before someone came. We also waited for extra long before someone finally came to us to take our order. The view inside the restaurant was good. You need to book online tho.

Took an 1 hour 15 to get the first dish of a banquet (booked well in advance). The food was very ordinary, lacking flavour. No dietary options.

OMG food is amazing, staff are fabulous, atmosphere is unbelievable It’s worth a visit or two. I know my husband and I will return for sure wild horses couldn’t keep us away.
