Took a group of 25 ladies to the Firehouse Hotel for lunch today. Damien and his team did a wonderful job at providing delicious meals quite quickly with the minimum of fuss. We wanted to make a small presentation and a member of staff was able to quieten the music in our area for the short time necessary. Lots of very impressed women! Thank you to all the staff!
Just left the place with our friend who is a woman and was going through menopause and had only 2 expresso Martinis and 2 cokes after that, she started feeling nausia and went to rest on the couch. We warned one of the staff member that's what's happening but later the white middle age security guy with white hair came through and questioned it. We said she's going through menopause but my friend vomited at that moment . The white security guy with attitude put his hand on his mouth pretending to vomit as body language that someone's about to vomit. We offer to clean up and he stipulated that 'are you?' and he also stipulated that there's camera around cause we've stipulated there's no compation when someone is sick. We are both head of a business and strictly won't recommend this place for any corporate events due to the non human treatments. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this place cause it's their business that's priority rather than your health. Special warning to middle age corporate women.
Met there for a business lunch/ meeting and the food was way above expectations and most enjoyable. I would say the chef has had high level background/ experience.
I am a tourist from Japan. I came here on my graduation trip from university. I stopped by because of the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. The steaks and drinks were delicious and we had the best memories. The owner played men at work down under for us, the security staff spoke politely to us who were not good at English, and there are many kind people. We will never forget the time we spent here. We will come back to Sydney again one day, until then, take care.
Chicken soba noodles sans chicken, was perfect. Fresh, and beautiful presentation for a Sunday lunch. Great staff, polite, fast and knowledgeable. Others in my group had a wonderful Deconstructed pie and a perfect Sirloin (medium rare).
Come here for a holiday for my partner birthday they staff are so welcoming the manger Gary is fantastic.the staff helped us with great ideas and how to get to the popular placed with ease the bar is so modern and the drinks are so cheap my partner loved this place and was excited to come every night of the week while we where here on holiday food looked amazing and cheap this place is better then my local back home come visit you will not regret it
Had a delicious dinner and beer at Firehouse Hotel tonight.
The vegan roasted vege salad was great but portion size was woeful. Make larger please.
Great atmosphere, fantastic food and very friendly service. We were with you recently for our staff party and we will be back! Thank you for looking after us.
Good food, relatively quiet which makes it a good place for hangs
Staff were not friendly and service was mediocre
Decent pub, took family for lunch and it was ok. Managed my sons allergies well
Lamb was cooked beautifully, lots of lovely flavours in the salad. Quick service even though they were very busy.
Downstairs bar was ok but upstairs is where it's at great spot for a quiet meal or if your entertaining bigger groups, perfect.
Thanks Garry for your amazing hospitality and great professionalism displayed. We are looking forward to come back to Fire House Hotel. The food and drink were spectacular. You're The Best Venue Manager we've ever met. Thank again!
Wonderful ambiance. Food portions are massive, and typical pub food with a lot of options. Once in a while is ok. Can be a bit expensive as compared to options in the surroundings.
Good place for a few drinks. I had a roasted vegetable salad, more rocket, hardly any vegetables. Very average and expensive, wouldn’t recommend for food.
Please return deconstructed pie, lamb salad and famous bangers & mash. Update. The pie & salad are back:) Best bar in North Sydney and respect to the team that read reviews.
Always liked the firehouse but they could do with a hour hour in my opinion.
Food was great, atmosphere is good. Most staff were good, some were unfriendly bordering on rude which overshadowed a nice lunch and catch up.
Visited on a quiet Sunday night when limited dining options were available in North Sydney. Opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala ($27), other menu options are typical pub-style meals. While the presentation was nice, the taste was average; the rice and poppadoms seemed like they might have been microwaved. We also ordered two schooners of beer, each priced at $13—a bit on the high side. Overall, the atmosphere was okay, but nothing exceptional. Overall, it was an average experience. In my view, other options nearby were preferred.
Food is fine but the service is nearly always surly
Good food and drinks!
Great spot for work lunches, the outdoor area is nice, as are the booths.
I had the Thai chicken burger
Were here few weeks back for our post work drinks, the food were amazing, so were the drinks! Loved the ambience and the staff were very accomodating too.
Modest traditional pub that preserves its Victorian/Federation era interiors in the Plasma room while blending with the contemporary furnishings in the main bar. Gary was more than happy to book us the entire Plasma Room while spilling over to the adjacent bar. Major highlight of the Firehouse is the wide range of booths reminiscent of those 1950s milk bars.
One of the best places for a beer in North Sydney
Thoroughly enjoyed lunch with friends there. Quality food being steaks and salmon, all delicious. Atmosphere good and fine for chatting with no excess noise.
Chicken Schnitzel and chips was above average.
Great atmosphere.
Great staff, nice selection of beers and good value food.
Enjoyed a rare catch-up with past colleagues and found this pub a great venue for Saturday lunch with loads of conversation and hospitality.
Chicken schnitty, chips and salad, a pub classic but executed really well. Super crispy panko coating, great chips, fast service and nice, modern but inviting interior design. Happy customer.
Food is Quite good. Comparing to other pubs
Beers are a bit pricey, but cool pokies room 😁
Came in after completing the marathon, feeling quite hungry and looking forward to a meal. We waited 2 hours for sweet potato chips, while my friends had ordered schnitzels and a burger. We asked about our food twice but never received it, so we ended up requesting a refund. Won’t be going back.
Nothing special. No atmosphere. Staff were friendly and service was great. Food ok.
Lovely food and service 👌
Food good atmosphere good noise though, but that just shows people enjoying themselves.
Great pub, really nice inside and decent selection of beers
Nice chill place for a few drinks after work. Nice building redo (old fire station).
A great modern and sleek pub in the heart of North Sydney. Very popular choice amongst office workers for lunch but also a great place for catch ups.Plenty of seating amongst the two levels. Great food and very efficient service.
Great casual venue for drinks and a nice meal. A short walk to the train station. Nicely renovated and has clean facilities. Good for groups. They screen various sports as well. Bar snacks are reasonable. They have an upstairs area as well.
Excellent Sydney steaks and beers. Coopers, for refreshment, plus steak, mash and jus. Cheers Mick!
This is a nice bar, the food is decent but expensive ($13 for a small bowl of chips) and the drinks are overpriced ($15 for a tap beer).
Such a disappointing experience. 1. Meal advertised with salad - really…. sorry, a salad should comprise more than just lettuce. Luckily the chips were ok. 2. Ravioli dish bland and tasteless. 3. One meal (in our group of four) was incorrectly entered by the staff member. No apology for the error & no offer to provide the preferred meal. 4. Burgers overpriced for what they are. A lovely ambience, but not worth it, for the mediocre food it offers. 😕 Many better places to eat. Don’t waste your time eating here.
Pretty good pub.
Wandered past and then decided to wander in - a great looking bar downstairs, and after buying a couple of beers, we wandered upstairs. Well laid out, great decor and an outdoor area - (a little chilly today for that). We had steak and a parmy - steak was well cooked, with just the right amount of salad and chips. Parmy was excellent, not over flavoured and juicy. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Will be back
A modern gastro pub 5 minutes walk up Walker Street from the station in North Sydney. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was great pub grub. I had the delicious g.f lamb salad as a substantial main while watching others enjoy the barramundi fish and chips. Heaps of beers on tap and a great drinking TwoBays pale ale g.f in a can for me.
Called in on a Sunday afternoon by chance which was a good decision. Food we had for lunch was terrific. Reasonable prices nice atmosphere and good service. Well worth a visit
Well worth a visit food was fantastic nice selection of beers on tap in nice surroundings Will definitely be going back there.
Easily the best burgers in North Sydney! Juicy, tasty and decent portion 🍔. Also great atmosphere and super friendly staff 👌
Fun and vibrant atmosphere to enjoy a drink and meal after a long day at the office. We ordered the steak and chicken parmigiana which were cooked to perfection.
So… the salads are surprisingly delicious
Great place for a quiet drink and good food. Been going here for years on and off and have always found the staff very friendly and the food is great. It's never seemed to have been super busy so have always been able to get a table
Came here for a quick dinner. Nice ambience, decent decor and friendly staff so I thought I couldn’t go wrong with ordering a Margherita pizza as it’s usually a safe bet It dead set came out five minutes later and it was that bad I could have eaten a better pizza if I went to the frozen food section of Aldi. The pizza was not befitting of a pub in a premium area of Sydney. I can’t speak for what else is on the menu but it was truly poor. A toddler could have made a better pizza.
Nice friendly pub. Open 7 days which is really handy in Nth Sydney as many places don't open weekends. Food is also really good.
Nice place with friendly staff and great pub food. Better place to eat than the Greenwood Hotel
Great pub, next door to our hotel. Friendly service, excellent bar staff. Food good. Busy atmosphere
Lovely venue in the middle of North Sydney. Great atmosphere and staff.Always enjoy catching up with friends here.
A great place to catch up with friends and work colleagues for drinks and dinner. The chicken parmy didn't disappoint and the beer selection was amazing.
