Great local venue. Always a fun event on or space to hang with friends. Good drink selection!

Interesting place. Clearly running on a budget because they have no pokies

Great friendly and authentic venue (no nonsense). Good beer selection and relaxed atmosphere. S&P calamari not as good as it used to be but I can let that slide :)

Lovely little spot in a suburban street. Great outdoor area to play bowls or let the kids run around. Excellent rotating beer selection, reasonably priced too

Very cool retro vibe and easy going community. Went to the monthly poetry night which was fun.

I’m sorry to write this but since the kitchen changed a couple of months ago, the food is terrible. They’re slow, get orders wrong, and the food is mediocre. I’ve been with multiple groups of friends and we’ve had chicken schnitzel, Parma, pizza and it was all just meh and the orders were frequently wrong or missing ingredients (Parma without the ham…even though it says ham on the menu). The flags for the “specials” have been up for a month and don’t even list the current specials. One time we wanted to order food but we were told it would be an hour’s wait (there was barely anyone there) so we didn’t order anything, and went to the White Cockatoo instead. You can tell we are not the only ones with a grim opinion of the food because there are far fewer punters here than previously. This place used to be packed. Sorry, guys but you need to lift your game and we’ll be going to the White Cockatoo when we want somewhere local.

Good is brilliant. And not a pokie in sight!

It's a very run down old bowling club. A lot of kids. Bowls is cheap. Ordered 2 meals and out of both, not cheap either.

Amazing spot to come for a drink. Kid and dog friendly with an awesome rotating tap lift. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often

Timeless and friendly Great pizzas and beers

Damn delicious! Can't believe I hadn't been here before. 10/10 warm friendly atmosphere, the staff are ALL outstanding, food is so good and great pricing. Looks like original decor but that just adds to the great vibe here. Love it. A round of bowls due next visit!

Had a Christmas event here, food provided was good, bar staff quick, bowls wee fun

Very trendy, cool beers and chill atmosphere

The food was actually terrible - very disappointing

Food was very disappointing

Love this place. Really good range of local beers on tap. Relaxed bowling vibe, good food and lovely community atmosphere.

Great little bowlo, full of real locals, awesome place to hear local bands and local poets!

Great local venue

No pokies No worries

Today’s Medieval Fair was an absolutely incredible experience. Well done to your events manager and team on such an amazing day and all of their dedication and hard work to pull that off. The inclusivity, community spirit and just fun vibes were so great and I love that this is just around the corner from where we live. Good on you all for giving back to you community!!! I cant wait for next event. Also proud to be new members. Thank you.

We couldn’t even go there as there is no disabled access at all. We wanted to attend the Medieval fair they’re holding there but not only can you not enter the building you also can’t access the outdoor area where the event is being held. Very disappointing.

Fantastic place to spend on a sunny day. Issue is the food. The menu could be better. Pizzas are ok but nothing special. Best pizza was the prosciutto and the least favorite was the pumpkin. Too much fried food (mainly chicken) and not much of a variety. Drinks are good and have a great price. Lots of kids playing around.

I'm a local and love this venue. It has something for everyone

Fun laid-back location for some barefoot bowls. The green isn't in the best condition, however it's more chilled than other places as you can drink on the green. They also don't go through how to play like they go at other locations. Good selection of drinks also!

Great idea, but missed the mark on many, many fronts. Planned my 50th here so the kids could enjoy some outdoor fun. Booked months in advance. However on the day, the bowling had been booked at 12pm not 2pm and it was claimed the lanes were full. We sat there watching empty lanes for the whole time we were there... so my son took the initiative and asked if the kids could play pool. Unfortunately not as that would take up too much space.... ignoring that the hall was full of chairs that had been put out but were not being used. The final straw was the calamari... part of the compulsory food package. $50 for a small basket of calamari. When i asked about it, they smiled a knowing smile and said, nothing we can do about it. What a scam.

The bowling club itself and the bar is quite nice. Friendly bar staff, except for one passive aggressive older waitress who was very dry and came across as quite rude. The food was very tasty, however pizzas were small for the $18 prize tag- I’m talking very small ( my 5 year old son could eat an entire one to himself). Overall an enjoyable experience

A space for every experience

Besides the good open area for my child and other families, I don't like it. Everything is old and not well looked after =/

In the eclectic realm of Petersham Bowling Club, where tradition tangles with a rebellious spirit, a particularly swipey cat reigns supreme. This devious feline turns lawn bowling from a leisurely pastime into a high-stakes adventure. Amidst the bohemian ambiance, with live music serenading the air and art adorning the walls, the club thrives as a cultural oasis. Eco-friendly initiatives whisper of a green future, but it's the cat, with its playful menace, that truly captivates

Hoped the beam n did the madest secur run fam an swa god full awear interview

Great evening of music from Andy Irvine.

Came to Petersham Bowlo for the first time today. $10/head bowls as expected, made a booking over the phone. Played bowls and had drinks. Could only play bowls from one end due to the main side being complete dirt. The green was poorly maintained. Drinks took a considerable amount of time, reaching for the line being outside the door at 5pm. Music inside was a deafening ambient bass. Drinks were made promptly, nicely priced and delicious. While I don’t see a quick return to PBC, if the club is quiet this is quite a nice venue to attend.

We had our Work Christmas Party at PBC, and it was a delight. The food was delicious, everything was smooth, and it's a great space to get in a friendly mood. Thanks PBC!

Still the best bowlo got it all bar wise

Very old and decrepit. Only one green so hardly can be called a bowlo. Aircon not working on an extremely hot arvo. Give it a miss.

What a dive! The food was average and for some reason everything has chilli even if not listed as having chilli on the menu. If you have a physical disability/limited mobility don't go! The ground is so uneven and the chairs are flimsy and brittle plastic. Not sure what the inside is like as I couldn't even get in the door.

Saw some friends play in their bands.Small area downstairs and only once month.Bands were excellent.I particularly recommend seeing the Lang Langs.

Nice beer and food selection. Family friendly with reasonable expectations. Maybe don't take your kids up to the bar? You will see them constantly telling parents not to. They shouldn't have to do that.

Great selection of independent beers. Food is great. Lots of seating outdoors. Good idea to book a table. Plenty of space for the kids to run around. Take a ball.

The food was reasonably priced for the portion sizes you receive. Food was prepared quickly and was tasty! I loved the atmosphere outside too. Greatly for a family or group dinner

Lovely place for a bevvie on a chill spring arvo. Great selection of interesting beers on tap.

Went line dancing, had a great time

You don't really come to this place as a bowling green. They've let the green go, but the atmosphere and the pub is great

Don't support this place. Full of feral people who disrespect Australia as a country. Plenty of flags for the minority groups but nothing for the flag that fought for their very existence

This place is what we need more of. I have only visited twice but on both occasions I was impressed with the staff, vibe, values, music and range of beer. Queues can be annoying but only if you're impatient.

The staff at the bowls could not be nicer, more friendly, chilled out. The brussel sprouts and hummus plate was mouth watering perfection

Hi David, can you please reply to this review with your contact details. I would like to talk to you about one of your bartender's actions and behaviour tonight. Quick preface- is a bartender's dislike for a person based on an assumption of intent of what I said a week ago a reason for them to refuse service although it was well established that I wasn't intoxicated? Looking forward to it.

A place for the local community. Showing it’s age, but the local accept it. Beers aren’t the best

Old fashoined bowlo with bistro & bar

Wow just wow

Nice venue, 80’s decor, great 24 tap selection. Only criticism is that the bartenders need a tutorial on pouring beers to the top.

Decided to have my birthday at Petersham Bowls Club. Location is great but there was a major issue with our booking. Booked 3 lanes with a $50 deposit on each one, booking was confirmed and had over 25 people coming. When we arrived, told there was only 2 lanes booked and nothing that could be done about it. Staff were friendly and couldn’t do too much about it and comped us for any guests not included in the $150 deposit. Whilst this was appreciated, it would have been great if the booking was properly reserved

Great wholesome energies. Good bowls, reasonably priced beers, great live music on a Sunday.

Went to a wedding dinne held as a private function. As most bowling clubs the place looks old but excellent food and drinks.

The chicken tenders here are amazing, possibly my favourite dish to eat all year

What a great venue, especially for the lucky locals who live within walking distance. No pokies or other glitzy garbage - greenery and comfortable homely surroundings. Excellent selection of beers on tap.

Petersham Bowling Club is everything that it needs to be! This classic bowlo embraces the past and I love it. Their selection of beer is tops and the staff is super knowledgeable as well as being friendly. They may not have the flashiest pitches, but they cater to all. Everything needs a Petersham Bowlo in their life!

Went for a company event, great food and vibe

Nice little club. Great selection of beers. Good atmosphere.

Was there for a party, nice little club with cheap drinks but a bit of a limited food menu

Great family entertainment space that had the courage and insight to get rid of pokies and build a community. Respect.

The team went out of the way today to keep us out of the sun and in the shade! Thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Clearly the Petersham Bowlo is loved by the locals. The interior is original, which is a cool blast back to the 1950s - but it is incredibly run down. Broken furniture, dirty chairs and cobwebs on windows. The bar looks amazing though and the drinks are cheap with friendly bar staff. If you live inside a 5km radius you are forced to become a member which is a confusing process that requires you to join via a QR code and then annoyingly pay $3 annual membership dues via credit/debit card. Limited food menu. Service took a long time despite being only people ordering food at the time. $26 for a chicken parmy. Bone in piece of chicken was unusual. Pieces of pizza ham used for topping. Chips were perfect. Found a dead bug in the small salad garnish and my guest had a small black hair in their chips. Wanted to love this place more but there are better old fashioned bowlos in Inner West to patronage.

Hosted psyched as for Millsy. Respect 🫡
