They have a cosy area at the back with aircon and a concreted part at the front if you want to bring your dog. The aburi sushi bento was amazing as well as their katsu curry 😍 Someone nearby ordered the pancakes which looked so delicious but I just didn't have space to fit them in

Stopped by here on the way to our new home in Coomera and what a find!! we had no idea how nice it would be inside, it’s like an art shop and restaurant. The food is delish and so fresh and the menu is perfect. Will definitely be back loads

Ordered from uber eats got the karaage don meat was undercooked, and food was mis presented through picture, the picture had tons of mayo on it and had lettuce, when we got it there was barely any mayo and had cabbage instead of lettuce.

It was an amazing experience! The Karaage Don was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with the sauce on it, made the perfect balance of flavor. I also tried the iced mochi, which was a delightful treat to end the meal; the texture and sweetness were just right. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxing ! I'll definitely be coming back for more! Highly recommended!

We love the decor, the value of the food+drinks and the service. I always get an iced matcha latte here. I liked the avo on toast.

Great Cafe - service was great Food was very good and atmosphere. We were stopping by on the way to The Gold Coast Car museum. Coffee was perfect Latte The meals were nice we had different things between us bacon pancakes sushi and bento box. Parking at rear and it doesn't look like much at the front of the cafe but hey give them a chance. Warm hospitality and food great my kids aged 20,19,17,13,11 loved it ! They like the mix of hot food like chips with sushi and drinks like thickshakes. We will be back !

Tried to order a platter that we have ordered before and told that it now required 24hrs notice. No alternative was offered. Not what I expected for trying to support local.

Nice place with paintings and pictures on the wall + aircon. Service was nice, the food was yummy and surprisingly filled me up with the amount. Perfect amount of source on my Sushi. Only complaint is that it felt like it toke awhile for the food to come out 20+ mins, and there were a few flies bothering us. Overall 8.5/10, enjoyed it.

I had a wonderful experience at this sushi&coffee shop! 🥳 The service was incredibly friendly, and the food was fantastic. Easy to find a parking as well. They have adorable and interesting Japanese murals, which is bring us cozy and inviting atmosphere!

Lovely experience, the atmosphere was cozy & welcoming. Great variety of sushi, karaage and nigiri. All wonderfully presented and served promptly. Tasted fantastic. Would most defintley return to try more of the menu. Edit: I have already returned 2 days later to try the coffee and the genki special. Both were wonderful and I loved the coffee. I had a Mocha and it was perfectly strong espresso with a wonderful amount of choclate flavoring.

Wasted my time travelling out here. Place was completely closed, no tables or chairs in sight. Here's a tip, don't say you're open from certain times when you're not.

Food is always amazing, vibes are nice too. Staff are lovely. Such a great spot for brekkie, lunch and dinner.

I've never understood why this place isn't busier. Great food and service.

Pressed the buzzer on the table a few times with no response, then only be told it's not working when went to the counter. Asked for wasabi, but never came. Food taste ok, but the portion was relatively smaller than Brisbane/ Gold Coast. The table next to us was used but never came to clean up during our entire time.

Disappointed today. Overcooked rice & inflexibility to swap an item from a Bento box (as allowed for the last 6 months). Please allow swapping our favourite pieces, and we locals, our families, and friends will be back!!! 🙏

I was in heaven. Pulled up my motorcycle. The merlo coffee I’ve had for 30+ years and is the best I’ve had. The sushi was outstanding. The carrot cake was outstanding too.

Got a coffee this morning and a small chicken avo sushi it was super fresh a d very delicious infant it was soo good I ordered dinner there also Karaage poker bowl Sashimi Bento box Sashimi 12 pieces The freshest sashimi i have experienced in a while especially around this area. Totally recommend this place and reasonably priced for quality. Also parking is available there in the rear however tight squeeze on the left hand side of the shed and then swing right there is 8 parks available and 4 or so on the main road. Very clean establishment.. will return

I had fresh salmon don takeaway, I was disappointed to find it was missing half of what was on the photo. It was missing avacado, fish eggs and whatever the green was.

Food was delicious and fast. The smoothies are fresh and taste great. Atmosphere is by far one of the coolest places I’ve been to. Think Australian rustic barn combined with Japanese style. The Ghibli murals are also really cute. Plenty of little props to browse while you wait, and is fully air conditioned. Staff are friendly as well. Definitely worth the drive ☺️

Absolutely a little gem . Service exceptional and the food delicious and fresh. It is our go to place. So much so that when we call to pre order they recognise our number and use our names. The weekend girls have excellent customer service for young girls. It’s a pleasure to see their smiling faces. We don’t go anywhere else

Fast, yummy, large portions, well priced. Takoyaki cooked perfect. 8 piece Aki filled me up and it takes a lot to fill me. Fresh distinct flavours between each. 1 scoop of black sesame ice cream was large, it was the size of 2 scoops elsewhere. The ice cream flavours were unique, even their vanilla was good and not just an off the shelf vanilla, it had its own style, but if you are into the black sesame then this version is the go.

Adorably quaint, with prompt friendly service, and yummy food :) Quickly becoming our local!

this place is a hidden gem. me and my mum loved the Gigi’s Salad with teriyaki chicken absolutely bomb, for only $14 healthy and filling, take my money. awesome coffee and a chill atmosphere

**5 Stars** I recently dined at Genki Sushi on Tamborine-Oxenford Road and had an exceptional experience! We were there on a Sunday evening, and the service was outstanding. Amelia, our server, was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. She ensured our dinner was served promptly, which we really appreciated. I ordered the Japanese curry, and it was absolutely delicious—flavourful and perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself was spotless, contributing to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommend this place for a great meal and fantastic service!

Genki cafe impresses us more everyday. The customer service is phenomenal, they are kind and always making sure they remember our order which is something that makes us feel special. Our experience here is always great and would recommend them!

Very friendly and professional staff who are willing to help with any needs. After only a few shorts visits and they remember you. Very good at making you feel welcome in their zen calming environment.

Wow, how lucky are we to have two great and authentic Japanese restaurants on (Leaf) and near (Genki) Tamborine Mt? Both feel like modern Japanese Cafe restaurants in Tokyo or anywhere in Japan, both with excellent, informative (and surprising) Sake lists. Leaf does better fried food (the accompanying sauce at Genki a touch too sweet), but Genki better Sushi (as good as you can get). Ambience at Leaf better (moodier and you can see the chefs-kitchen), Genki a bit too bright/souless with irrelevant hairdresser music. Service at both was friendly, informed and welcoming - though the open kitchen at Leaf is definitely preferred. Leaf has Sake options by the glass, which makes sense - argon gas can keep open bottle freshness for weeks if required. Value for money is better at Genki but both offer outstanding quality. Takeaway mid-week, Genki definitely the better option for Sushi - the bento boxes at both look promising. Ambience at Leaf more adult, Genki family friendly. Genki should dim the lights a bit at night, and/or get some Japanese-inspired table lights, and have some Japanese relevant music - or no music. Even if Friday-Saturday, more couple, dining experience friendly. Both will be regulars.

This place has everything you'd want, great food, authentic Japanese and cafe style food, privacy, ease of transaction, great tunes and atmosphere, efficient and friendly staff. Cold water jug on arrival, no need to ask for it. Park out back, enter rear cafe door, order on QR code, nobody else around as they're all out the front section. Nice quiet brekky, could wear my PJs if I wanted, in fact I may just do that next time I go! Well done Genki Cafe, love your work 🙌

I came here this morning just for a coffee. The lady taking orders was lovely and helpful but it took more than 20 minutes to get a coffee and when I got it it was horrible and very burnt and I threw it out

Fantastic cafe and sushi in convenient location in Upper Coomera. Merlo coffee, brewed perfectly at a great price. It’s my go to on a daily basis for coffee just how I like it. What’s even better it’s delivered with a smile from the staff who are just awesome. Highly recommend.
