Weds & Thurs Parma night are a treat

The team tries to make everyone feel welcome, but the lighting and decor are too open to create a cosy atmosphere. As a result, there is a really empty vibe about the restaurant.

I rarely write reviews, but my visit to Bridges was so appalling that I feel compelled to share my experience. It was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was pretty average, tending towards poor. But what really sets this restaurant apart—in the worst possible way—was the customer service. The staff were unbelievably rude and unhelpful, to a degree I’ve never seen before. Just one example: I asked a younger waitress (in her twenties) if my 13 year old son could get some sauce to go with his chips. Her response? She said he would have to wait until she had finished serving food for everyone else at the function (about 120 people). This meant my son would have to wait about 30 minutes to start his meal. Not only was this response completely unacceptable, but it was delivered in the most rude and dismissive manner imaginable. The overall attitude of the staff was abysmal—they clearly make no effort to help customers, no matter how trivial the request. Complaining to management is pointless because the owner (an older lady) is just as rude and dismissive as the staff (I wonder who taught them that this behaviour was acceptable). There is no way this twenty something girl could get a job in a proper restaurant, she wouldn't last 5 minutes. The fact that this behaviour and approach to life is engrained at such a young age is very sad. If you ever find yourself forced to go to this restaurant for a function, the only way to salvage the experience might be to have a little fun. Try making a few completely reasonable requests in quick succession and see how poorly the staff handles them (watch their heads explode). Compete with your friends to see who gets the most absurd response and make sure you share your experiences here - if enough people write honest reviews about their experiences they might be forced to not treat customers like garbage. I cannot recommend Bridges to anyone. The poor food quality, coupled with the unbelievably bad customer service, makes it a place to avoid at all costs. It’s clear the staff and management have no interest in improving or even meeting basic standards of hospitality. Save your time, money, and patience for a restaurant that values its customers.

This venue is trash. They promised they would be able to cater for the dietary requirements for a function and when asked to provide the nutrition facts for food provided they refused. Someone names ‘Hakeem’ who called himself the manager then preceded to verbally abused and berate us for asking to speak to the kitchen staff about the food served. When asked to get the person who has organise the function he refused. This pathetic place will promise you gourmet and then serve you prepackaged frozen food.

A relaxing place with a cozy atmosphere. Just be warned the kitchen closes in the middle of the day til the dinner service. Try ringing ahead if you're not sure.

Excellent venue for memorial service.

Horrible food, horrible customer service and a lack of care for the people.

Good food, went there on the steak night and got a decent sized porterhouse wish veggies and chips. Really well cooked and nice cut of meat! Chips are amazing. Service and staff is polite and quick, even the meals came out relatively quickly. Happy with the joint would recommend it. The only disappointment was the lemon lime bitters that seemed out of a bottle not made at the bar and it was fairly noisy even though it was full.

The food and atmosphere were good, but the staff's communication was poor.

We came to a beautiful wedding here and when I’d told someone what the venue was they mentioned they’d been here for lunch so I was excited to eat! The space itself is quite stunning with a real bush setting of gorgeous scenery- perfect for an event or a relaxing meal with the natural backdrop (you can literally smell the eucalyptus). The entrees were pumpkin and feta risotto and Thai beef salad and the mains salmon with mango risotto or lamb rack with red wine jus. I had the beef and the lamb and the lamb was definitely my favourite dish. It was well presented and the sauce was a lovely accompaniment. A really lovely atmosphere and super friendly and accommodating staff

WARNING We mistakenly trusted Bridges for a very special high tea. The original quite was 55 dollars per head which rose to an inexplicable 91.00 per head on the day. Food was basic and looked nothing like the normal high tea at other restaurants The service was deplorable as we constantly had to chase staff all afternoon When we contacted them with our complaints we were flicked A very disappointing experience

Booked a function towards end of last year paid the room hire fee for 5 hours, phoned last week (2 weeks prior to function) to confirm numbers and food package to be told by function manager that there function packages have now changed and now we had to finish function at 10 rather than midnight and if wanted to stay longer extra $ as well as other hidden costs. We understand food has increased in price but from $ 24 to $ 40 really ???? when asked why they hadn't notified us of all these changes seeing booked last year, they had no reply at all except they were doing us a favour" by not charging $ 2000 room hire for the 21st !!!!!!. We have had many functions there over the years when Nick was the owner and never had these problems. Needless to say trying to find a venue for 90 people in 2 week period was hard but we had done it and the other venues we had spoken to where disgusted in how our booking was handled by Bridges. Management need to learn about customer service and glad we are not going there. On a positive note we got a deposit refunded!!!!!!"

Still a great restaurant, need to come more often

Have come for dinner a few times, mainly on Parma night. Great parkas at a great price, and the staff are very helpful and friendly

The nursery / restaurant are just wonderful places for visit - such a beautiful environment - peaceful and dog friendly in the external areas. Great coffee but the bisuits we had were a bit soggy" - surely that was an exception! Loved the very pleasant staff"

Food was great, proportions where great and pricing was good. We had the steak, pulled burger and the wings with a bottle of wine. Britt our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again

Have eaten here 2 recently food was good However on both occasions it was extremely cold sitting there 🥶 Heating is not adequate for size of venue There are lovely open fore places however not sure why management do not use these to make the experience more comfortable

Had a parma and the steak both were delicious and steak cooked perfectly

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had scotch steak for lunch which was cooked to my liking and was very enjoyable. To finish lunch we shared a churros and they were the best churros I've had. Overall I was very impressed and will go back for more.

This place is divine. Surrounded by Mother earth's beautiful self. Classy and the space is unlimited. Kids space and dining inside and out. I personally didn't eat but the food looked fantastic. Check it out I recommend 👌

Amazing food. We went Thursday night when it was Chicken Parma and a beer or wine for $20.00. There were several choices of Parma, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was busy, and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Great place for a meal. The Mexican parmigiana is lovely. Very large venue which would be ideal for weddings etc. Nursery is worth inspecting too. Plenty of parking space. Even better in fine weather for outdoor dining.

Apparently new owners and has unfortunately gone WAY down hill! Attended a function. Entree ‘bruschetta’ was 90% onion and not nice at all, weird fried cauliflower likewise. No plates provided for entree, had to ask for some and server just bought them out and dumped them in a pile on table. Bought out two meals and 40 mins later rest of the table still hadn’t received any. Eventually bought out rest of table’s meals which were all the same not alternate as advertised. Asked for the alternative to be bought out which after another 45 mins still hadn’t happened. Two people on our table didn’t receive a main meal as they apparently forgot to bring it. Asked what was happening and they finally offered to defrost some chicken but by that time function was over. Those who did receive a meal reported the fish as jelly like and undercooked and the chicken was dry. Kids meals very small and bland. Kids ice cream icy and topping tasted strange so kids wouldn’t eat it. Asked for refund for the meals not received and management was very indifferent and suggested we chase it up with the event organiser who had already paid the restaurant in full. Organiser of event should not have to chase up this refund for restaurant’s inadequate service. It should have been given on the spot along with an apology, neither of which were offered. Do not recommend anyone booking an event here, not sure if these people have never run a restaurant before or what is going wrong there but it is certainly not good! Have attended many events here in the past and always used to be great, not any more! *Update: received call from manager this afternoon who was lovely and apologetic, saying they will try and do better with their training. Doesn’t alter the experience but I have upgraded the service rating to 2 star as at least she seemed to know how things should have been and has agreed to process refund.

Great stop on the way to Yarra Glen! Really yummy food. Ordered the meat lovers pizza, paella, king salmon dish and beef burger. Did not disappoint!

Lovely service by a smiling young lady, food was very good but the noise from the guitar entertainment for a Sunday afternoon was awful, so loud we couldn't talk to each other or hear each other across a table???? Was such a shame for what was a rare family gathering..never again!

Recently had lunch there and the food was very very ordinary. Everything was overcooked and dry. Nobody enjoyed their meal. Very disappointed for we were looking forward to a nice lunch. Need to get their act together quickly

From the amazing food and the table decor, to the beautiful rustic ambience of the open fires and fairy lights, we couldn’t be happier with Bridges as a venue for our wedding. Liz was there to guide us through and assist us with all our questions on planning our day. She was very accommodating to all our needs and helped us out so much. We had such a beautiful winter wedding there and couldn’t be happier.

Went here for a funeral where I had some video streaming responsibilities also. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the food afterwards was great. We had my son's primary school graduation there 8 years ago, and the venue is great for many occasions. Highly recommended!

This is the second time we have dined here in the last 3 months and both visits have been great. Lovely lady serving us tonight, very helpful and quick service. My husband devoured his steak meal and my noodle dish was tasty.

Stopped for a lunch on a sunny winter afternoon. Had the best food and service by lovely staff Lauren. Beautiful smile and great service and so proud to be part of the organization.

Was there for a presentation and dinner. Asked to swap a meal and was advised that once the plate hit the table food could not be swapped. Did not try to accommodate and the lady was very, very rude. Really not caring for her customers. I wouldn't waste my money there again.

Wednesday night meal was a delight... inexpensive and with a glass of wine.. always with great ambience ..but lovely new hosts..and is a culinary a bargain... I'll make it a weekly thing now!!!!

Locals but our first time here. Food was great, enough choice on the menu (even for our fussy 8 yo) and the service was excellent. We had the specials - very nice! Beautiful to sit outside and enjoy the warmth, thanks guys, we will be back!

Went here with the family for Saturday lunch. Enjoyed a cocktail and my husband had a wine , lunch was delicious. The chicken focaccia was huge and delicious, price was worth the food quantity. Atmosphere is great , best thing kids have a place to play while me and husband relaxed. Staff was super friendly and lovely.

It is an okay place. Great customer service and a beautiful setting though. My assumption was to see variety of plants in large quantities. There was variety but not for a mass planting. All plants were not happy.

We came 3 months ago and had great service/ food. Today we waited 1 1/2 hours for a toasted jaffle and big brekkie. I had to ask if it was on way and was assured it was 1 minute from serving. 15 mins later big breakfast arrived which was small and cold. I again asked about toastie, it arrived 5 min later as toasted bread with cold beans and a slice of unmelted cheese. On leaving we were given the jaffle for free! My advice: explain to customers before sitting you are struggling with wIth service times, communicate throughout about what is happening. Not once were we approached, offered explanation or given choice to go elsewhere . The 5 wait staff were standing around perhaps they could have been in kitchen assisting with basics?

Had a pizza, dreadful to say the least! It appeared to be from a packet and cost $18 and was small! I'd pay no more than $6

Really disappointing and dissatisfied with the multiple food issues. A recent function wasn’t at all the bridges I knew before covid unfortunately. The 2 stars go to the waiters who tried their best and aren’t at fault.
