The hosts Rhonda and Peter were awesome. Rhonda made sure we we were welcome there with open arms. The food was touch down awesome. Quantity was so good and filling.

Such a good place! Food was great. The carbonara was excellent as was my Hangover Parma. Our only regret was not having a big enough appetite to fit in the crab curry. Staff were warm and friendly, including to our 3 young kids.

My husband and I have been customers of Cunningham for 10+ years. Gale always looked after us and the food was great. Since the new owners have taken over service is slow & poor. 45+ mins for a salad to come out. Entrees served at the same time as main meals. Kids meals came out after everyones main meals. Meals have increased in price but decreased in size. If you read the other reviews there is a common theme with the male owner and maybe he needs to take note! We'd gone for my mum's birthday. I had rung& booked an inside table for 4. When we got there the man (owner and Rhonda's husband) started arguing with me straight away saying I'd booked outside. I said I hadn't as it was hot & my 75yr old mum isn't good in the heat. He continued to argue the point & on seeing the place was empty, I repeated we want to sit inside. He called a young kid over to show us to the table & then very belittlingly told this kid off for something else in front of us. I finally figured out that my sister had rung to add 2 more people to the table as a surprise & the 'lady on the phone suggested outside' & changed the booking. My mum ordered a drink at the start of dinner & I didn't realise till the end of dinner that it never came (she didn't say anything because she doesn't like to cause a fuss). She ordered a Parma with gravy & the gravy didn't come out till we reminded them. My sister ordered a Caesar salad with anchovies telling them she was a vegetarian so no meat (she's pescatarian but most people don't realise what that is so she always reiterates no meat). I ordered the Caesar with chicken & no egg as it makes me sick. My Caesar came out with an egg on top. We pointed this out to Rhonda who rung her hands until my sister said she'd just take my egg & put it on hers. It wasn't until she had a couple of bites that she started to feel ill & realised hers had bacon. Looking at her meal properly she then noticed a big black hair in it. We called Rhonda over again who completely ignored the hair & instead pointed out my sister said no chicken but didn't say no bacon. We pointed out she said no meat as she's a vegetarian & we're told we weren't clear enough because she asked for anchovies. Rhonda then asked what we wanted her to do (this is where she should have apologised, taken the meal away and brought the correct meal back, with no hair) and waited till my sister said she'll just have some chips with gravy. When everyone else had finished dinner my sisters chips came out without the gravy. After 5 mins we reminded them. The young kid brought out my mum's cake with candles lit & a knife & plates, etc to serve. He was very polite & trying his best. When we finally went to go pay I noticed the bill was more than I expected. The male owner argued with me that it was correct. That my other sister had paid for hers & her two children & this was the remaining amount. I could see the bill & said that the Caesar with anchovies was returned as it had a hair. He argued that had been taken off the bill. He wouldn't listen & kept arguing until I got flustered, thought I must've been wrong & paid. When I went out my niece said he was wrong as it cost 90 for 2 meals and a bowl of chips. I decided to go back in and ask for the receipt. The male owner continued to argue, was belittling & condescending. I eventually turned to speak to Rhonda as she was the one who took the meal away & explained the issue. He continued to exclaim 'listen here'& 'come back here' & clearly didn't like that I'd gone to his wife for help. Rhonda then sent me back to him saying 'he would sort it out'. He finally printed out the receipt& got the table bill & marked off each item until he realised he'd made a mistake. He made no apologies & just said ' so I owe you $26' & handed over the cash. Then he made a flippant comment that us having a split bill made it confusing (10 years of split bills with Gail and she never had an issue). Rhonda then asked if all was happily resolved as we walked out!!

We came for lunch on a warm summers day and sat outside under the fans. There are 15 different types of parmas and the ones we had were incredible (standard, Mexican, nacho and hot chili). I’m quite obsessive with parmas and this is in my top 5 best ever. Will definitely be returning 🤤

Had a delicious lunch here, a mixed grill and pistachio crusted lamb backstrap. Plenty of food, i couldn't finish it, lamb was tasty and tender. Hubby's mixed grill was huge. Great service by the lovely Rhonda!! Will be back again!

We visited cunninhams today for lunch on our way to the river. Service and food was amazing. Beautiful outdoor dining area with fans kept us cool on this hot day! We will definitely be back. They have an awesome range of parmas & the lamb salad was tender and beautiful. The oysters were lovely.

The pub is run by a couple. The lady owner seems nice, but her husband, who also calls himself an owner, is unreasonably rude and lacks any sense of customer service. People like him should not be in the hospitality industry. I had an incident while visiting with my disabled client. Most pubs allow seniors to order a reduced-price meal, so I asked the lady owner if we could get a senior meal for my client. She confirmed that we could. My client had his meal, and I ordered an entrée since I wasn't that hungry. When I went to the counter to settle the bill, the man—who claims to be the owner—ignored me at first in a rude manner. Eventually, he told me the total. I mentioned that my client would pay separately. He then asked who the senior was between us. I explained that my client always orders a senior meal with his concession card due to his disability. The man displayed a big ego and an unpleasant attitude. Please consider reporting or avoiding places like this that do not understand or accommodate special needs.

Peter the owner behind the bar is rude and has a bad attitude, and it’s unnecessary. Treating his customers as if they are stupid and undermining their decisions as if they don't know what they’re doing, for asking questions about the menu that has black marker all over it, isn’t very clear, then telling them to go on line and figure out what you want. The other staff are great and very helpful it’s a shame that he lets it down for everyone else. However when we have sit down service it’s quite pleasant because we don’t have to deal with Peter, he shouldn’t be serving people.

Price increases and meal size reductions. So disappointing 😢 Have been a regular for 20 years and won’t be back

Rude elderly man that took our order Tuesday night. He was rude to my adult children when they told him there was a hair on top of their meals. No apology, and no attempting to rectify the situation. Just rude and very unprofessional. He should not be in customer service. The lady was friendly and lovely, though we won’t be back.

The male owner was horribly disrespectful to me and my sister and degraded us by calling us “girl” and told us “listen here” when we brought our meal back after finding a hair expecting a new meal as i only had one bite. He said it was an “eyelash” which it wasn’t it was a long hair and said don’t even worry about it and threw his hands around. i felt very uncomfortable being spoken to like this from a elderly man as a young girl. Very disappointed.

I used to come to this place weekly until the older male behind the bar was absolutely horrible to me and my sister. I will not come back again… really upsetting to cop such abuse from the owner. The female wait staff are so lovely and I cannot fault them. However this one male has ruined it for the rest of them. Definitely won’t be back….

This was our second visit because it was deliciously magnificent the first time we were here on holiday & they did not dissapoint again !!! Huge portions and just delicious. We had a steak the first time , my husband had the fish . The cheezy garlic bread was fantastic . This time we went for Takeaway & ordered the seafood parma & Cheezy garlic bread 🤤 OM Goodness!!!! What a great menu for gluten free people! Waitress was knowledgeable and the owner was an absolute hoot! They always stopped what they were doing to chat to clients. The food, OMG! Best GF meal I’ve had in ages. Yum yum yum!!!

We had our wedding close to the pub and wanted to organise a relaxed after party. They organised a room for us and our guests, kept the kitchen open and served us some delicious chips and nachos that went down a treat with our guests. Excellent communication and lovely service

Visited all of the local pubs in the area and Cunninghams is the best by a country mile! Peter, Damien and RowdyRockingRunAroundRhonda all made us feel so welcome! True publicans who made their pub feel like home. The steak sandwich was the best we’d ever had and we will certainly be back again to visit this terrific pub!

Dropped in for a late dinner on our way home last night. The place was jumping with lots of locals & laughter. Dinner ( Lamb Backstrap & Eye Fillet) were cooked to perfection, delicious & tender .

After a great hike around the Ada tree area, we ended up at the Cunningham's Hotel. The people who worked at the hotel were so welcoming. There was a blues band playing, it was cute inside, and the food was fantastic.

It’s not the most fancy place, and I was scared of the Parma…but damn they make a good Parma. Not overly expensive either. $26 for Parma $19 for Pint of beer.. front garden is great for some lunch in the sun on these cooler winter days, people next to me were raving about the chips which I agree, are delicious.

Called in for lunch with a friend (usual weekend motorbike ride). Chose this pub because reviews were really positive. Now I’ve been I can only say … it was awesome. Had the chicken burger on Turkish bread. Was a real, fresh chicken fillet (not deep fried), super tender and very generous serving size. Very reasonable prices: the pub is really quant with lots of interesting stuff on display. Was a highlight to meet the lovely owners Rhonda and Peter. Before they even introduced themselves and on arrival they and the rest of the staff were really friendly. Highly recommended - I’ll be going back (apparently the steak sandwich is awesome too - so that’s my next order!)

Went for a ride on the motorcycle - Melbourne to Dandenongs then onto Yarra Junction.. Dropped into the pub for a bite to eat and a beer with my mate.. Had the chicken caesar burger.. It was outstanding! a 9/10! Carlton Draught off the tap was spot on as well - clearly these guys look after their beer reticulation. Owners very hospitable, will definitely drop in again..

stopped in for a meal and it did not disappoint. from the moment we were greeted the owner, Ronda, was so accomodating and lovely. we instantly felt welcome and at ease. the atmosphere was lovely, we were seated near the fireplace. the food came out promptly and the meals were delicious and generously portioned for a reasonable price. the pesto parma was such an amazing idea executed so well. the italian sausage on the pizza was also a highlight. would highly recommend to anybody in the area. top notch service and lovely hearty meals ✨

Be very careful when ordering here. We got asked if we wanted sauce with our kids meal, which of course we said yes. Little did we know, on the bill we discovered that a little dollop of tomato sauce was $3 extra. That's the first time I've seen a charge like this for a kids meal, and couldn't believe it. A very tiny serving of side gravy is also $4.50. I felt scammed, because these little hidden charges aren't mentioned anywhere on the menu.

Started writing this while I was waiting for my stake indulging the aromas of the kitchen and experiencing the amazing great old school hospitality of this place!. Just a beautiful experience and I'm sure rest of it would be even better!.

We had a family celebration dinner over the weekend. This is a casual and super friendly pub. We had such a lovely meal. The food was great. It was fresh and tasty. Staff were wonderful and made us feel special and very welcome. It was delicious and I would definitely eat there again

Greeted and assisted by lovely, friendly staff that did their best to accommodate us with our child in a wheelchair. Meals were yummy, typical pub fare - just what we were after! Thanks so much guys, we look forward to returning in the future.

I came here for a late lunch after an 18 km hike in Warburton. I ordered the traditional parmigiana as recommended by a friend. The pub offers different kinds of parmigiana. The chicken parmigiana and fries were crispy. It shows that they were freshly made. I also loved the side salad which was very fresh.

A relaxing lunch in the garden at Cunningham hotel, Yarra junction . The eggplant parmigiana was the best I’ve ever had. Including the crispy hot chips! Yum Yum! (Unfortunately, I had already eaten some of it when I thought to take a photo. ) The other lunches looked really good as well. A good band playing on the porch. TLDR: the gluten free meals come with glutenous sides. Staff were lovely, meals were gorgeous and very family friendly. It is not allergen friendly though. Their website advertises catering for gluten free but it's only when ordering that they have the cross contamination disclaimer. If you decide to take that risk which at this point there are a lot of social pressures to take the risk especially when eating in a group, you can't just order a gf meal. You have to check the sides that are served with the meal. In addition to that you have to pay extra to swap for a side that is gluten free despite the meal being labelled as gluten free. There is an ambiguous little box stating this surcharge for swapping on the menu but if you had no intention to swap until talking to a server then that's a nasty little surprise at the end of a lovely night as its not disclosed at any other point. Overall this is a lovely family friendly option for those who do not require dietary catering. For those with coeliac disease, don't waste your time, money and gastrointestinal health. P.s. there's no change table

We had an absolute blast at the Cunningham Pub! Rhonda and Peter are welcoming hosts and Kori makes a wicked Expresso Martini. Really friendly authentic county pub atmosphere that’s definitely worth stopping in for a beer and a meal.

Had a lovely lunch on Easter Friday. Staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered the hangover parma, lamb pizza and kids carbonara. Servings were massive and we enjoyed our meal very much.
