Attended an afternoon swing band. Great space, no food available to buy except from the vending machine .

Seniors beef lasagna was cooked to perfection! No lumps in the meat unlike other places. Meal was served piping hot and a good portion. Person taking the orders, Satish, was very courteous and patient with the seniors. Will definitely recommend this bistro to everyone.

Visited on Sunday evening. We had the Chicken Kiev and chicken and beetroot salad. Both meals were delicious. Kiev was cooked to perfection and the sliced chicken on the salad, was moist and tender. Newly renovated bistro with the booths looks great! Recommend that you give it a try sometime.

Good service however their timing with courses could improve a little

A group of us have been coming here every week for the past 12mths and enjoyed the food quality and service. As of this week, a big change. We were all given half serves at higher prices than normal. The explanation from staff was that we were given seniors meals. But the seniors meals were more expensive than normal meals and half the size. Management must think people are simple? If things don't return to normal we will be taking our business elsewhere. Just doesnt make sense when you have a room full of pokies, you have to stiff the punters in the dining room as well? Pathetic and Un-Australian. Not up to standard for an RSL.

Went for lunch with a friend today. Wouldn't bother again. I asked for grilled fish but they only had fried. My friend wanted spaghetti bolognese but they don't serve that on a Wednesday. All they had for Wednesday was parmigiana and some salads and seniors meals. We ended up just having a bowl of chips. We couldn't go somewhere else because we had just bought a drink! Very disappointing. No wonder it was half empty.

Reasonable food and decent service

A gem of a place! Great service, and amazing food! The size of the parmas was incredible and if my 16yo found it hard to finish, you know that's a big piece of chicken!! We will be back again..thankyou all

I had a great experience at this hotel on Friday. The young gentleman at the reception was incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding us through the check-in process and even recommending a great dinner spot. The staff was friendly, the meal was delicious,

Over priced reheated meals. All the seafood and the chicken Kiev and schnitzels and parm's are all reconstituted meat and frozen. Had no quality to the meals. The lamb shanks were over cooked and dry. The ice cream was stale and icey. Very disappointed and the wait staff were not very attentive and disinterested. Would expect better value for money and quantity of the food and service.

Horses for courses - for $15 on a Friday, you get great value main feed - a generous serve. I was pleasantly surprised! I have spent more than double at Bistro restaurants & got a lot less in flavour & qty...Alcohol drinks are also very reasonably priced & my usual prosecco order for lunch De Bortoli small bottle was %6.50! Seniors meal is $18 with choice of 2, main with entree or dessert. I had seafood mix plate - tasty with crisp coating. Panacotta was 👍🏼 too. Hopefully - quality remains consistent if I choose to visit again with friends. Plenty of free parking onsite.

Just had lunch at the Clayton RSL.Dont bother eating there . I had a stomoach upset and my husband kept running to the toilet . Food was unappealing , tasteless and terrible . They need to take a note from Springvale RSL where the food is amazing .The toilets are disgraceful , broken toilet seats, rusty. Emailed the manager re . The above . No reply .

I had the Wednesday night special Parma WOW what a Hugh meal great flavour, fantastic value, 10 out of 10 I’ll be back next Wednesday

Food good 1 day but not the next

Had a sumptuous dinner last Thursday at the RSL! The cheesy garlic bread was a perfect start, followed by a delicious steak paired with their house CabSav. I was so full that I forgot about the crème brûlée dessert I ordered and just left! Prices were surprisingly cheap, and the overall experience was fantastic. Left with a satisfied belly to play the pokies. Highly recommend!

Specials on every day at food venue are good value for money. The dining room has been updated. The Victorian Jazz Club has live Jazz every second week on a Saturday night, check their Web Site for details.

Bloody Tasty Braised Lamb shank, mash and baked vegies. I could not eat the Chicken Bolognase Parma Gianna, chips and salad. I could only eat half. These parmas are from Ostriches. Overall, 5 out of 5. Great staff, Great Ambiance, Mild Music, Not Noisy. Definitely comi g here once a week. The menu variety is huge. Pasta, lamb, rice, beef, seafood, fish et., etc. Spoilt for choice.

Ordered lamb curry. Not enough meat. I received a quarter of it as fat. Very disappointed. This was served to me on 22nd of December.

Hubby and I had lunch yesterday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The meals that we ordered---Surf and Turf and Surf and Turf burger were so delicious!! 5 stars for the meals and service. Also thank you to Anne for the surprise box of flowers. Had a lovely day.Thanks.

Ordered steak sandwich for my bday waited. Over 30mins which never waited that long before to find mustard on my burger yuk never had mustard on burger before the chips are normally nicer but they weren't.

Staff are not so friendly

Sitting at our table before getting our meals 3 girls behind counter 1 girl brings back a plate from a table 2 girls followed. I'm sure there was things to do. Orded chicken,mushroom and bacon risotto. Was very salty and no bacon...had shredded ham. Sorry if it's supposed to be bacon then serve it with bacon not ham.

Arrived early and was able to order lunch at 11.30. Seniors 2 course meal $18. Excellent food choices. Very friendly staff, efficient and clean surroundings. Both our meals were delicious and plentiful ,more like a general main. Salmon was outstanding. Def will return.

Went to the RSl with friends and had a meal very disappointed as we had the senior meals where you get a choice of soup main meal or a main meal and desserts so we ordered soup but was sold out and when we tried to Oder main we were told they run out of vegetable so we had chips and salad How can they run out of these things One ordered ice but they run out of topping We weee very different in the kitchen in the end No kitchen should run out of soup or vegetable I gave it 0 rating for this

Cheap beers and good cheap meals

Past dining at the Clayton RSL was at least 4 stars.. not today.. Love the warm bread normally served before the meal.. it didn’t come.. asked for it and it was served to another table ( looked like on purpose)the patrons on that table were waiting for dessert… The bread actually came after our meals were served.. Food was average versus the past which was tasty.. Waited 15 minutes after our meal for dessert.. it didn’t come… Asked for it at the counter and was handed the dessert over the counter.. Dessert was substandard too… Really like the Clayton RSL which we frequent as much as we can but felt let down today…
