I have been to the Hawthorn RSL multiple times and have had great experiences in the past, great members and a supporting environment. My most recent attendance at the Hawthorn RSL was quite a shocking one, the complete opposite to the statement above. Myself and others were subjected to a Hostile and intimidating entry upon arrival for reasons unknown and made to feel exiled and uncomfortable to the remainder of our visit. Why members of the veteran community and the non veteran community who support the RSL are treated to such manner is Very Un-Australian and does not support the morals and values we hold so dearly as a community and as a nation. I hope to return to the Hawthron RSL again in the future with an experience for a more positive and support environment which I have experienced in the past.

A great RSL, a pity the current exec are NOT into supporting veterans as they should be. The current Vice President who is a serving police officer, uses his position as a police officer to harass veterans. He evens calls police on veterans for his own advantage. DISGUSTING. The HRSL is supposed to be a safe place for veterans.
