We quite randomly stopped and went for dinner. What a delight. Service was great and there was a great deal of theatre by the chefs. Fireballs, chopping and food flicking is on the menu too. We had a great evening. We will definitely be back.
Meal sizes are small and the cost is high.
Took my partner for his birthday lunch, $130 later... No show, no rice throwing, no fire and very expensive for what there lunch menu used to be. It was a shame, as he had never been! The vegetables were not cooked enough, the steak chewy. The seafood was nice. I did speak to one of the staff, asking why no show etc... he spoke to the cook and he made a small effort. I found it to be fake, and a just because the boss told him to do it. Customer next to me, said the same thing! It was kind of one of the staff, to bring out a little cupcake with sparkles on it to wish him a happy birthday! The asahi was delicious on tap. In future, definitely bring back the $25.00 teppanyaki lunches, and no mater what time of the day...your a teppanyaki bar so a show should be provided!
The food was absolutely outstanding, with every dish bursting with flavour and high-quality ingredients. The teppanyaki chef was truly exceptional, not only showcasing impressive culinary skills but also providing an entertaining and engaging performance that made the dining experience even more special. The lively and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Highly recommend you visit :)
What a wonderful experience. We went for my daughter's birthday and the chef, Barry, made her feel so special, the staff were wonderful and even brought out a cupcake for her 16th birthday. Beautiful food and the Teppanyaki grill experience was awesome! Thank you 💜
Best food and best service! sisters 16th birthday, she had a great time! served by the best teppanyaki chef… Barry! thanks for the amazing experience :)
Definitely not Japanese. We went here for a Sunday lunch expecting Japanese as that is what they call themselves, but we’re very disappointed when we got served Chinese cuisine instead of Japanese food. We ordered the wagyu donburi and the tuna sashimi, the wagyu was thin sliced boiled meat in an oily soup, the sashimi was thick cut and very uneven. Would have been happy to go out for a Chinese meal, but we felt like Japanese….
Amazing food! Highly recommend. Restaurant is very busy and loud but worth it!
Fabulous food and great service every visit.
Great food great vibe. Highly recommended!
Excellent service. Fun and friendly environment. Freshest seafood prepared and cooked right in front of you
We ordered a couple of things but the worst was beef scewers, 17$, we where presented with 2 scewers, each having 3 small pieces of beef, not even half the size of the photo on the menu, and none of the sides as shown on the menu came with it, we asked where the rest was and why it looks nothing like the photo, but we were told to read there menu disclaimer, “photos are reference only” so your dish does NOT come with all that is in the photo, this is bait and switch . Big disappointment.
Food and service were absolutely amazing. We didn't have a booking and even though they were full they were able to accommodate us after a short wait. Definitely be back!
Food was very good. Sashimi was great. We were in a large group and felt we were being hurried along too much. I was asked at least 6 times if they could clear my plate, while I was still eating 🙃
It's always an experience. Love this place.
Such a great experience. Was very busy but the guys fit our birthday girl in for a show.
Great food. Real enjoyed it.
Awesome place to visit and eat
Mate, seriously.. I eat here that often, one would think they would serve up a bad meal every now and then… but NO! Nail it every single time and we love it!! 8 stars!!
Amazing experience, wonderful food. Customer service is 👌🏽
Unfortunately manager don’t really understand customer service. Food is nice. But manager refuse to help customers to sit comfortably. She only care about maximum money making when seating you. Cramp 6 people group in corner elbow to elbow ! When other tables are free but not allowed to sit there
We went here with high expectations with a group of 4. Sadly, they were not met, and we left with an expensive bill (over $400) and feeling disappointed. If looking for a great dinner, go elsewhere. The restaurant was noisy and cramped. Once seated the service was reasonable. Some dishes were excellent, others not. For example, my rice was horribly undercooked and crunchy. My partners rice was overcooked and sloppy. Mixed Sashimi was excellent, but the steak dishes we ordered were very chewy. Wait staff were very slow to collect empty dishes, even when delivering new dishes to the table with hardly any room to place them. Cocktails were expensive and contained little (if any) alcohol. I am surprised by the previous reviews on this restaurant - I won't be recommending it to anyone.
Booked this place specifically as an experience for my kids and mentioned during the booking we would like to try the banquet menu so they advised we will be allocated grill seating. I should have taken this as a warning sign this is not a true Teppanyaki restaurant. On arrival, they directed us to a standard table to the side of the bar. How can you possibly experience Teppanyaki when you can’t even see the chef or the grill? We mentioned to the waitress that is not acceptable and we were told specifically we would be given grill seating when we booked, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. They then tried to fit us on the end corners of their grill bar, which is around 4-5 seats away from the closest grill, which we again declined. The waitress then got a colleague involved who tried to argue grill seating is only a preference not a booking promise. Why would we want to pay Teppanyaki prices when we could be going to any other Japanese restaurant for the same food if you can’t watch the chef cook your meals directly in front of you? You can not call this a Teppanyaki restaurant when only a max of 10-12 people (crammed tight together as well) can actually sit in front of a grill to watch the chef cook their meals, while the rest of the seating can barely see, if at all. The seating set up is a scam, and we will not be visiting this restaurant ever again. We promptly walked out, would give 0 stars if we could
I booked dinner for 10 people on 24th Dec a month ago BUT they called me today and asked me cancel without apology as dinner is not available. Also, I can't find any restaurants to book as it is too late. What a irresponsible restaurant 😠😠
Beautiful food and service is amazing as always ❤️
Awesome restaurant. Great staff and food. Family favourite.
The service and atmosphere were exceptional. Joe was incredibly friendly and lovely. The food was not only visually stunning but also delicious, and the service was prompt and efficient. Will definitely be back and recommend
The mixed sashimi plate is the perfect option for someone on a carnivore diet.
Great Atmosphere and Food.
A couple of weeks ago I treated myself and two teenagers to Teppanyaki during our trip to the Gold Coast, and we definitely were not disappointed. Our Chef Ralph was so attentative, entertaining and cooked a delicious meal. He went above and beyond for us, such an asset to your business. Thank you Ralph
Gorgeous and very tasty food and very filling. Wonderful service. The stuff is very nice and respectful
Delicious and fresh food. Yummy wine. Service is good and atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Would come back.
💕 Love the food here. Great experience and atmosphere. Fresh seafood and prepared to perfection. Had an awesome experience here and will highly recommended to anyone. Got to go.
Omgeee so We got the mixed sashimi 50 piece and OMG, fresh succulent tuna, salmon, prawns, scollops, octopus, oysters (4) and more, we shared this between the two of us, we could have easily left satisfied just with that but we also had the marble beef which was divine, highly recommend even though we ended up paying approx $170 after a couple drinks each
This place is great. Lovely food.
Good staff. Good service
We had the best time. The chefs are so talented and food was delicious.
Super quick service, nice and fresh food and hospitality top notch! Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner!
Great food and atmosphere
Kamikaze is an absolute gem! My wife and I went there recently, and we were blown away by the experience. We started with the teppanyaki, which was a fantastic show, but once we glanced at the menu, we knew we had to explore more. The options were endless and mouth-watering, so we moved to a table to try a variety of dishes. We had the salmon and kingfish carpaccio, the prawn tartare (which was simply mind-blowing), and the freshest gyoza I've ever tasted—nothing like the dry dumplings you get at your typical restaurant. Every dish was a delight, perfectly prepared, and bursting with flavor. The drinks were exquisite, and the service was prompt, professional, and incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, perfect for families, couples, or just a night out. The restaurant was spotless, and the convenient location was a plus. I can't recommend Kamikaze enough—whether you're young or old, you're in for a treat!
Amazing food. Highly recommend the Bao and fried rice dishes.
The cheif was a bit opinionated. Its my laugh, its the only one I have, so what. No need to comment ! Seating is cramped, elbow to elbow, at counter, no room to move. Really busy and noisey. Cheifs work their bbq really well tho. Food was yummy.
Timing of meals is way out, rice turned up 12 minutes before the meal and barely an upgrade of any flavour or additional ingredients for an extra $5 (Not like it used to be, cost cutting!). Manager got stroppy when I asked to possibly turn air con down coz it dumped right above the table we sat at. The portions are way out My $45 kamikaze choice had 8 little bits of chicken and 9 bits of steak, the other $26 and lesser meals were monstrous in comparison. Also witnessed 2 customers complaining about most meals coming out and not having theirs by the time the others had finished. Now going home to eat dinner. $330 for 3 adults and 4 children. Won't be going back there again. Been here quite a few times and it's all downhill.
Had a great night for son’s birthday party, great food good service and location easily accessible.
Very yum!Thank you!
Very enjoyable evening, their PHO is very tasty
Too salty
Expensive though
Sunday lunch with my wife. Food is lovely, and poke bowl salad is fresh ( salmon and tuna). My wife loves the smoky duck ramen Will come back to try their Teppanyaki menu. The only negative is that tables are too close to each other.
Came here to celebrate our anniversary and the atmosphere is quite good with interactive chefs and of course happy families with the chefs doing tricks. However , the seating was quite cramped even with a poor elderly man relegated to the corner right outside where the kitchen was. Although it might have been a busy Friday night , there is still some expectations for a restaurant to get the order right or have another way to indicate who belongs to which table as it was confusing to the servers. We were sat so close that throughout the meal we had 3-4 wrong orders pushed to us or that were meant for someone else. The food itself was a hit and miss. The teppanyaki which is the name sake was a bit of a miss for us . The fried rice upgrade was bland and tasteless. The beef was over cooked and so hard to chew through despite being the Kobe set and the prawn still had the veins on the back (in the picture). The sides like their signature prawn toast and agedashi tofu was good but would not be back to try the others given the cost of the food not reflected in the quality, taste or service of the food. The three stars was a shoutout to the servers who tried to replace our rice as it was served out cold.
Best Teppanyaki on the coast!!! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great food and drinks and chefs really entertaining!!!
It was great fun and lovely food
Went out to dinner for my birthday and had the best night I have had in a very long time. The waiter and chefs were friendly and funny! They made my night very special! Highly, highly, highly recommend!!!
I recently dined at Kamikaze Teppanyaki for my friend's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional; the manager and staff were very attentive and friendly. They went above and beyond by giving my friend a free shot and a cupcake for her birthday without us even asking. The food presentation was fantastic and highly Instagrammable, though the taste was somewhat average for the price. While the food was good, there are better Japanese restaurants on the Gold Coast. I heard a lot of good reviews on the teppanyaki which I didn't try, I shall return to try the teppanyaki. Nevertheless, the overall experience, including the ambiance and well-presented drinks, made it worth a visit. The drinks were a bit on the sweet side but still enjoyable.
As soon as i walked in i was scolded by a lady staff for entering on the wrong side of the restaurant. No welcome or anything. Then had to flag down someone to give me a menu. Then had to flag down someone so i can finally order. Food was average and took a while to come out. Don’t recommend, poor service.
Great place, quality food and gluten free options. We are regulars and each visit is just like the time before.
Very nice, authentic dining experience on the pricey side, but the food and service are sublime. Tasty and attractive food, the staff were wonderful with a family with young children, getting them to try catching food in their mouths, very entertaining. For our starters, my husband had Chicken Skewers, and I had Salmon Skewers Then our mains were Prawn Teppanyaki - Served with teppan vegetables (zucchini, carrot & onion), kamikaze salad, miso soup, dipping sauces & steamed rice $32.95 Teppanyaki Set Black Angus Sirloin - Served with teppan vegetables (zucchini, carrot, onion & mushroom), kamikaze salad, miso soup & steamed rice $35.95
This place is very...average. The prices are average and the food is also just average. I had the Yaki Udon chicken, and it was 90% vegetables. The entre's were very delicious though.
Compared to other teppanyaki we found it quite dry and flavourless. Was disappointed with the teppanyaki chicken fried rice and Karaage chicken. The scallops skewer was very nice. Partner got the Kobe and the steak was ok but the rest still quite flavourless. Drinks were great. You also go to teppanyaki for the show" ....that was all but non-existent."
This is my favourite out of the 2. The other is in pacific fair but it's no way as good at the one at Coomera. Food is amazing, especially the hot and spice bugs. And you have to try their house larger it is very smooth and not bitter very close tast to Asaki. And for a great show, try sitting at the hot plate and have your meal cooked in front of you and then thrown at you. Yep, thrown at you, so dont wear white, lol but its definitely worth the experience even for children 😄 i laughed so hard when the chef started flicking scramble egg to both my kids for them to catch in their mouths a few made it in but most went on their face hair and so on but again so worth it 👌. Their is also normal setting that dont throw food at you.
Food was perfect! Cocktails were amazing and the staff were super lovely and had some mad bantet
Fried rice took longer to come than all of our other food. Charged $160 for a small shot and unclear when we asked if it was the bottle and found out it was for just the shot.
Friendly staff, great service, great food...I will be back.
Food is excellent, so much flavour, really fresh and quality ingredients. Really enjoy eating here. Nice atmosphere and enjoyable every time
Baby octopus was like rubber, it was actually uneditable.
Great food great service what more could u want
I've been a regular customer of this restaurant for the past few years however, the quality of the meals hasn't been the same lately and when I have made the suggestions to the owner directly about the meals quality. He's response was rude and disrespectful.. I don't ever think I'll go back there again. People maybe try the Thai restaurant at the bottom of the shopping centre, food is always great quality and most importantly the outstanding customer service. Enjoy 😉
It is always a pleasure to dine here! The service is amazing, the staff are attentive and the food is delicious every time! The manager has a great sense of humour and he always makes us feel like family 😊 Even when they are fully booked and packed out they will find you a table. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The design and layout of the restaurant is to be commended 👏 Highly recommend. Excellent Teppanyaki.
Nice atmosphere for dinner. Reasonable price with fresh ingredients. My favourite sashimi with wasabi citrus dressing was perfect. Ordered Uber eats large sashimi next day again as sashimi lover.
Excellent service, Excellent food. Will be back👍🏻
Beautiful dinner at the BBQ Grill of Teppanyaki... so fresh, so awesome.. I definitely can recommend and, hubby and I will come back.. **** staff were lovely and attentive 👍
Food was great. Beverage was good, but take it easy on the sugar syrups 😵💫 Service was good, even though it was a busy night. Paid cash for the food, asked for receipt for tax purposes. Never gave me a receipt and left the till like its on fire. I get it lol Other than that good place to visit and dine
Recommended to have a booking as this place gets very busy. I can definitely see why! The food is delicious. I have been here multiple times and the food and service never disappoints. Can recommend most items from the grill, everything is cooked to perfection and served piping hot. Love their egg fried rice, can recommend this as an upgrade
If you are looking for authentic Japanese food this is the perfect place! Kamikaze never disappoints.
