Absolutely terrible venue, has 500 seats with 3 people here and still takes 15 minutes for someone to serve you. Not to mentioned food is an absolute joke. I come here 4 times a week and put up with it for 5 years but I’m now done. What a joke of a place, blonde girl who’s apparently the manager has absolutely no people skills at all would be better if she worked at Maccas and asked people for large fries

$29 Parma and $15 fish and chips. For the amount you get it’s kind of a joke tbh. Parma was nothing special and the salad was drenched in dressing where it went soggy. Chips were the only good thing about the meal tbh. The service was great but not worth coming back for.

I’ve been coming here as my local for quite some time. Recently the food has become so poor I refuse to return. $24 for a chicken burger and chicken the size of a scone. Atrocious!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Wouldn’t let me in because I went to a concert? Like are you dumb? I work in hospitality and there were upwards of 50 people wanting to come in. Security was dropped on the head as a child, their mum probs doesn’t love them

A nice relaxed hotel

A great little Tab and pokie/ meal venue. The Tab , is a big room with a massive wall of TV..it's impressive actually..the Pokies are a walk thru a door and you can try your luck there!! A nice spacious venue with free tea and coffee! There are too nice smoking areas for the outer that likes too Vape or smoke! Tabled and TV screens so the Punter never has to miss out on the action! Over all a nice little venue!! On top of that you have Woolies and other stores just 10m walk out the Door! So convenient for grabbing dinner on the way home

How ridiculous is your policy to not allow new patrons when a concert has occurred. Shame on your discrimination against those who want to attend for a drink before catching the train home and the rush 👎

Not bad for a free coffee or to raid the bumpers. Pretty dangerous after sundown. This isn't the sort of place for a beer or food, and the owners/management are actually pretty snakey, and also, pretty stupid.

Staff were helpful but food and atmosphere was of low quality in my personal opinion. Nachos were actually pretty good but some of the cheese was unmelted.

23/9/24 Porterhouse medium rare and chips were awesome. Will definitely come back.

Great for the ufc. The booths make it easy to watch sport. Food is alittle over price for the value.

The staff was really rude and the meal was small so they used a bread and butter plate for the 2 sausages and mash. There wasn’t even enough sauce for both the sausages.

Great meals and staff. Only problem, you constantly smelt smoke from the outside smokers area. It was very disgusting actually. It's the last thing you want to smell when having a meal.

Decent meal specials, spacious TAB with nice smokers area. Good to watch sport and UFC events.

Reluctantly gave 1 star for food. Was the worst fish and cheaps I've ever had. Tasted terrible and gave both of us bloated stomach's. The burger was only slightly better. Very greasy

Excellent pokies venue with Sports Bar & TAB facilities.Ideally located inside Newmarket Shopping Square. Very cosy , clean & comfortable & ideal to enjoy a quiet evening Strongly recommend a visit.

I am regular Wednesday parma night customer :) I use to be local and always like the place . Service is always good even though some time it takes around 30 mins for your parma to be served . With the current $20 parma and pot deal is amazing . I usually for Mexican style parma - delicious . Chips are crunchy and chicken portion is good size . I think it use to be bigger . So far it’s very good . It’s a tavern so no complaints for the atmosphere .service people are friendly including the security person at the door Highly recommended .

Wouldn’t people in because we went to a post Malone concert

Wouldn’t let us in as they thought we’d been to a concert? We had dinner there earlier on the night and they were letting other people in.

Food here is so good. A bit expensive but worth it.

Group of 18 unable enter due to being at race's, group not vocal, wishing to have service's while waiting for crowd to clear. 2 patrons inside. Very sad for all concerned.

Staffs are very friendly and providing great service. I could smell cigarette smoke all over the place which makes me feel sick. They need to upgrade glass door not sliding automatic door. Quite disappointing.

Really great bar to watch sports (watched Matilda’s there) however the door to the smokers area opens up right into bar/finish area and you are forced to inhale second hand smoke. Surely this is illegal ?!! Will not return until door is moved to outside .

Just left the pokies venue in disgust because I wanted a coffee there complimentary coffee machine was out of order so my partner asked the barmaid for a lemon squash and a coffee she charged us nearly $9.00 when my partner question the price she said what do you want it for a $ 1.00 she was loud & boisterous so we asked for the manager got a refund and left never to return she need to learn more people skills oh other pokies venues have complimentary coffee & soft drinks the manger said no they don’t well yes the do we told him seagulls & millers inn hotel & & yarraville club just to mention a couple

Went to the Newmarket Tavern in Flemington as I was stuck for the afternoon in the area, and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the place was. The floors were grimy, and the tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. It was quite off-putting and made me question the overall cleanliness of the establishment. Another major issue was the overwhelming presence of pokies and the number of intoxicated individuals. The Newmarket Tavern seemed more like a gambling den than a place where people could relax and socialize. The incessant noise from the pokies machines made it impossible to have a decent conversation, and it was clear that some patrons were there solely for the purpose of gambling, with little regard for anything else. The atmosphere was anything but pleasant. The combination of dirty surroundings, loud noises from the pokies, and the excessive drinking created a disconcerting vibe. It felt more like a dive bar than a reputable establishment. I was genuinely uncomfortable during my time there, and I couldn't wait to leave. Furthermore, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed disinterested and overwhelmed, making it difficult to get their attention when needed. It appeared as though they were more focused on catering to the frequent pokies players than providing a welcoming environment for all customers. Overall, my experience at the Newmarket Tavern was highly unsatisfactory. Avoid at all costs
