Busy venue with a kinda unknown identity Is it a bowling club or a arcade with slot machines or pool hall Its arcade is probably 40%games and 60% slot machines where kids are encouraged to play games that are sort of like pokies even have seats like a casino to win tickets for different levels of prizes Beer at this place starts at $10 a schooner meals like fish and chips are $27 large portion best shared Service is very good with lots of staff but it seems quite expensive for the location. Great range of arcade games, pool tables, golf simulator and bowling! Food was great, especially the beef smash patty burger. Definitely great as a couples date idea or taking the kids for an incredible experience.

QR Code ordering system doesn’t work there. They said after waiting and asking 40mins after ordering that their wifi isn’t good there. They didn’t seem receptive in getting it fixed neither - warning to future customers to order from the counter only

Awesome family atmosphere.

I took my partner here for a kid free lunch date. We had a ball in the arcade, enjoyed some refreshments and a few games of pool, and had a round on the golf Sim. Overall we had a great time, and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We will be sure to come back!

really nice food, lots of choices and options available - pizzas, burgers etc. the bowling is really good, arcade is a little limited and wouldn't visit as the main attraction but still fun after bowling or food.

Its food is the only good thing about this place the terable thing about it is that most of the time that you scan to play it scanes multiple times wasting opportunitys and money

Was there on the weekend and had an awesome time. The staff were friendly and the bar staff knew how to make a proper whisky on the rock and the cooks done an amazing feed

Great new venue. A little something for everyone. Food, bar, lots of tables, bowling, game arcade and pool tables. Good for adults and children alike. Hopefully it stays that way.

Went with my son daughter and there friend great place perfect service from Emily and Tyler my son lost his wallet but even tho they were busy they took there time and found it now the food on the other hand was horrible sorry wouldn't eat there again but will go for the fun and service

Did bowling here, and it was a wonderful relaxing experience. Can order food and normal drinks from the lanes. Alcohol available at the bar can also be taken to your lane.

Wonderful family night out. And best part was having Vegan Gluten Free pizza! It was delicious!! The arcades games were fun with a toddler too. We will be coming back to try the bowling, and more pizza yummmm.

Went there just before Xmas with my teenage nephews.... It has a bowling alley , pool tables, virtual golf and lots of old fashioned arcade games. Myself and the boys loved it. Great atmosphere and good vibes. Picnic style tables and chairs .Order your food and drink and they will bring it to your table when it's ready. Pub style meals and a bar. You can reserve a table online or just walk in. The service team were very friendly and helpful,couldn't fault them. Great for family's and groups or go on your own. 2 thumbs up.😃

Air conditioning wasn't working. So hot in the venue. Made a complaint. Ignored. Won't be back.

Best “entertainment” in Ipswich!

A must do place in Ipswich. Great food, decent service when the staff are there with a great atmosphere. Pool, 10 pin bowling, darts, arcade games and more. Family friendly. We'll go back for sure

I think this will be a place that we frequent regularly!

Ordered a garlic bread and churros for a quick snack, nothing complicated. After half an hour, no food. I queried this and was told another 10-15 mins. For a garlic bread. And Churros. There was no sorry for the wait. I requested a refund which was processed with zero cares given. Will not go back in a hurry with service and wait times like that. Do better if you don't want to be another boarded up failure.

There are plenty of things to do and the space caters to many age groups. The arcade games all cost $2.50 or more which is probably on par with industry standard unfortunately. More game diversity within the arcade would be good as there are a lot of driving games (car and motorbike). Bowling was good but there are only XL in size 14 bowling balls, so no weight options if requiring an XL like my partner did. Pool was good but weirdly there was only 1 rack between all tables, $3 per game. Would love to see some better pricing and package deals. Overall it was a good experience and it's a welcome addition to the area, we would go again.

Took over a hour for food and told “it’s that long when it’s busy” and that was long after we had already ordered with no warning of a long wait. There were plenty of empty tables around us, I would hate to see what the staff are like when it’s actually busy. Unfortunate night out with family, most of the time spent keeping young children from being upset. Definitely would not recommend eating here.

Great atmosphere, fun emvironment for the whole family. Food was deliscous! Only down fall was food took over 45minutes to come out. Kitchen and bar were very under staffed.

Don't waste your time and money. After waiting for 30mins for our order, only to be told there was still going to be a wait - even drinks hadn't come out. Food not worth the money and definitely not worth the wait. Get appropriate number and quality of staff!

Came to General Public for our Wedding Anniversary to try it out and was overall dissapointed with the food and seating. The seating is only comfortable for short periods of time and the booths could definitely be more spacious. The overall 'vibes' of the place is nice with the games etc however it's like they spent all their money on that and just put the absolute cheapest seats in made of pine. I ordered a chicken parmy which was burnt. How the cook saw the crumb on it and thought that would be ok to serve to a customer is dissapointing. The hot chips were well cooked and very well seasoned, the highlight of the meal, and basically the only part of it I could eat. I ordered a chocolate milkshake which tasted great. Overall the food is over priced for what it is. All but 1 staff member looked like they were very unhappy to be there. Would only return to perhaps play some games like bowling, not a place I would spend my money on a meal.

It was a really nice fun place to hang with family and friends. But I think what would be more fun at a certain hour on a certain day it was just adults only. Especially if people a getting pretty drunk.

We booked a birthday party for our son here and our experience was all positive. The kids all had a wonderful time, and food supplied was all reasonably good quality considering the prices paid and the arcade section satisfied the needs of everyone. We will consider General Public for our future birthday parties and events in need of a venue.

We usually visit Nicholas Street every few weeks for the library and ice cream, but we took the kids to General Public for the first time yesterday, and the kids loved it. It's precisely what Ipswich needed. The food was expensive but tasted great, and the staff cleaned up quickly. It has activities for all ages, and I was surprised by the venue's atmosphere, it has a very cool setup. Once the mini-bounce opens, we will be between all the venues every few weeks. A must-visit.

I visited on a Thursday night with my two kids, excited to be having a rare dinner out, only to be told at 7.50pm that they're 'not taking food orders for another hour'. To say I was confused is an understatement. We could order drinks, but no food. Meanwhile the kids are starving, there's tables of people around us eating food but NO FOOD FOR YOU. (Seinfeld style). I get that maybe the kitchen needed time to catch-up, or maybe they have multiple sittings? But the lack of information is just confusing, there's no signs anywhere to say that there are specific times you have to order? We left after waiting 45min, we were all too hungry. Disappointed but the cider was nice.

For some reason these business no longer accept concession/pension cards. You need a companion card now? What is up with that.

Great atmosphere and a lot of fun activities. Had dinner and it took about 50mins for the food to come out, sides came at the same time as the main which I think is a missed opportunity as almost 1 hr for food is too long. Not knowing how long the food will be also locks you at the table when we could otherwise be playing games. If they can fix this I think it's a winner. The food itself is not bad! Though I wish my burger had a little more sauce on it, otherwise no complaints with the food quality.

I booked my Son’s 11th Birthday celebration at General Public Ipswich very last minute and I was blown away at how accommodating the staff were for us. From the very first phone call, nothing was too hard. Every single staff member I dealt with was hands down amazing. The service, food and atmosphere was all fantastic. I have to give a very special mention to our party host Ronnie. She just made the whole party a complete breeze. She was an absolute pleasure to have at our party the whole entire time. We will definitely be booking all our future parties at this place. Thanks guys for a great afternoon.

Can’t complain It’s very good for Ipswich where this was most needed

I had my previous venue cancel on me 3 days before my 30th and I went in and spoke with Shine and he was more than understanding and accommodating to my needs. The atmosphere was incredible, the food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails, so yummy. 100% recommend this for just a fun time or any event to celebrate.

Very promising on our first visit. Came for movie at Hoyts and found this place. Food was really good..! Haven't played games yet. But bowling arena looks awesome. Will be back for the games

The most golden, crunchy chips I've ever had! The pizzas look amazing too - next time I'm getting one of those. After a meal, you can go bowling with your friends and family. This is a fun place with good energy.

General public is an instant local, the vibe is great and the variety is awesome
