Yummmmy food!!! The prawns and sticky rice especially were a highlight. Friendly staff & nice beer garden out back

The Sports Garden Hotel is a great pub with very well priced, quality accomodation. Having stayed at several hotels on the mainland in recent months, none matched the standard and price of the Sports Garden.

Great food and atmosphere.

1st time at the SGH great atmosphere. Top meals.

An extremely uncomfortable experience at the hands of the bar staff. Went for a relaxing drink to be denied a second drink half an hour before closing. It was the start of what was supposed to be a pleasant evening. The security guard was the only pleasant staff member there.

Pathetic, arrived at 11.15 pm ordered a drink, guy came and said we are closing at 1145, we were refused another drink. Fully cognitive. Bar staff rolling eyes when asked for a second drink at 11.25. Customer service appalling no wonder bar was empty. Did not feel relaxed or comfortable in this establishment. In fact felt ostracised, wished we spent our money elsewhere.

Cold beer , huge loaded nachos & chicken parmy. Fair prices.

The little pop-up food stand is amazing. Tacos are delicious and fresh. Staff are friendly bunch. And even made jokes with the kids

Exceptional service. A very good atmosphere with a beer garden as well. We had an unplanned dinner there which was bloody beautiful

Great little place to drop in for a bite and drink, polite and friendly staff, simple food, nice old building and not too heavy on the pocket.

A change in the menu would be good. What is on there is good, but it has been the same for a long time. Staff our very efficient

Stayed one night. No dramas at all

We went on our first day in Launceston and it was a great choice. The room was spacious. @ForeverNow if you are reading this, It's a sports BAR. Of course you will hear loud music. The entrance to the hotel was kinda scary. It looked like a jail but everything else was great 👍.

I eat here regularly and have never had a bad meal! THE CRISPY chicken burger is delicious and chips are always cooked well. Sometimes pepper gravy can be a bit runny, but that's just being super fussy.

About the worst tap list I've seen at a bar.

My wife and I visited the Sports Garden Hotel to attend a gathering of the Poetry Peddlers group. They gather once a month to read poetry at an open Mic session. The poet's who attend and read their work are a great friendly lot. I would recommend any one who is interested poetry, either as a writer or just enjoys listening to it should take a look at Poetry Peddlers FB page. That way you can find the gathering and performance dates at the hotel. I suggest getting there early and ordering a meal. You won't be disappointed in the food or the p poetry.

Wonderful bar staff, bangn pulled pork sliders and deliciously cold beer. Rad smoking area, will definitely return and highly recommend. The Korean chicken burger, just too good and the crumbed fish 🐟 was delightful.

Great staff, Great food and a good selection of drinks available, live sport always on, great for events or casual dinner and or drinks. Parking can be a touch tricky at times

I had the fish and chips , which were pretty good, and a couple of beers on a Sunday afternoon . Would definitely go back next time I am in Launceston .

Had lunch here. Staff at bar were Friendly and establishment was quite nice. Food was only average I would say. Not bad but certainly didn’t stand out. We both had the chicken Parma. Chicken ok, chips - so so, and Salad not great. Average value for money. Would probably try somewhere different next time.

Great service and I had the best sirloin, chips and salad for a long time. Modern ,clean and great staff ,what more do you want. Do yourself a favour and visit this pub when in Launceston and enjoy . PS :give the place across the road a very wide berth . Well done guys 👍

3 nights here.... a good location close to town, Boags Brewery and river cruises. Being warned about noise on Saturday n Friday they were not wrong. I think the rooms on the George St. side would be much quieter. Most noise was generated from the hotel across the road. Nice having a 24hr entry door if you have a late night somewhere.The room was adequate with a very comfy bed and powerful shower. The staff were extremely helpful especially Helen. She took care of all my questions with a smile. She is a real treasure for this establishment making my stay much more enjoyable.

Had a few drinks at the sports garden. What a magnificent improvement the owners have made to this place. Clean, bright and great service.

No WiFi for guests even though I could see a WiFi ssid specifically for guests. Service without a smile.

A conventional pub experience with way too many screens but at least one great beer on tap and satisfying Nachos. Perhaps I would warm to giving it more stars after my next visit. I'll let you know.

Stayed upstairs in the accommodation and had dinner & drinks downstairs. Nice modern, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced rooms in a great Launnie location. Great tap beer range and food to boot! Reccomend to all

Sports Garden is great for a feed and a couple pints. Good selection of food and some cracking beers on tap. Looks like it’s been renovated recently? Either way the place is looking and feeling fresh. Staff are cool and the food is tidy. Plenty of places to park as well. Not sure about the hotel part.

Great service, 1st time been there and very impressed. Meals looks amazing.

2 stars overall for the reception we received on entry to the bar. We were asked to settle down immediately after entering the bar area because there were children there. I'm sure it was because we were dressed for a hen's party and the female bar attendant assumed we were going to be noisy. We weren't and we were offended. There were a lot of noisier groups than us.

Great place to have a drink with mates but it's SUPER loud. If you're wanting to chat this isn't a great place to go on weekends. Otherwise the food is good and the bar staff are friendly and super fast.

Good vibes, super friendly and helpful staff. Ordered the thai beef salad, creamy chicken pasta and garlic bread. Besides the GB needing a minute or two more under the grill, all delicious. Will come back here.
