A great local hotel for a half way point catch-up. And they accept bookings! The pub food is fantastic - think burgers, schnitzels, tacos and their daily roast is exceptional quality and price (roast pork). The pizzas taste like Aldi frozen pizza (still okay) but not authentic in any way. Well priced lunch and dinner. And we're now going to be coming back with the same friends. Attentive service.

Lovely food, good prices, and nice dining area.

Have been to eat here before, and it was ok . However, on the last visit, I entered the bathroom, and the stench of urine was that bad we had to leave. Clearly ,no hygiene performance procedures in place. Very young staff only. A pity the management does not understand cutting costs and systems , does not generate business growth, which in my experience follows excellent service standards.

Food was great, enjoyed my gluten free burger and fries. We visited midweek for lunch so it was quiet and wasn't much atmosphere but can imagine it would get quite busy. Big menu to choose from and lots of variety on tap.

We popped in for a quick drink and some food on Saturday evening. We just had some starters to share, chips, calamari and tacos. Food was super quick and tasty. My only criticism, there were no low carb beers. The closest were Asahi and Carlton Dry. I'm a diabetic and so Hahn Super Dry, Pure Blonde, both good options, even in a bottle. Hope you can add them, or something similar to your fridge. You'd find many customers would appreciate that 🙂

It is a great public house , been there 4 times , I had worked in Gordon , those 4 times , I found this pub -- well after 17 yrs , today I am back in Greengate pub 2025 February 2nd the pub hasn't changed a bit in 20 odd yrs since 1st time here in 2005 just come rare unique pub

Food was amazing! Better than I expected at a pub. Husband loved Andy's Pizza. I had gf spicy chicken burger. First time I have enjoyed a gf burger bun! Really tasty, and shoestring fries were hot, fresh and tasty. Waitress Jade was very friendly and helpful. We will be going back again soon, with our friends!

Relaxed atmosphere for a quiet drink.

This is a mixed review for me… It’s a good local pub but it’s got a long way to go to be impressive. The menu hasn’t really changed in 10 years, they have refused to rebook an overdone steak as they were too busy. Service is usually quite good. They do allow dogs in the outside area and provide water bowls so that is a nice touch. Not cheap. If you have kids though they have a kids eat free during a certain time. They have renovated internally so it is much better than it was in the early 2000’s. Nice place to sit outside and enjoy a drink on a sunny day. Not much else on offer by way of nice pubs on the upper north shore so this will have to be your choice. They do have pool tables, big screens and restaurant style out the back inside.

Bold headed security is rude and was filing us with his camera he is so rude and tried to pursed my friends with a ‘deal’ to be allowed in. I was very scared and would not recommend. I am a girl in my early twenties please be were

security wouldn’t let our group of 6 in at 9pm on a saturday. they then called for the head of security who told us “go away, don’t come back”. he then came down the road after we left to “offer us a deal”. once we told him that we didn’t want to come back as we were told to go away he then verbally abused us. would not recommend going at all.

Had wonderful evening at the Greengate - six of us celebrating a birthday. Staff were wonderful, food delicious and lovely relaxed atmosphere.

First time visiting the Greengate and its definitely more than your average pub. Super impressed and a real standout for me was with staff at this venue, efficient, professional and friendly. Tables were kept clean, food ordered came in a timely manner despite it being a busy Friday night. Staff were also accommodating to our needs, extra plates, ice, menu etc. Generous portions for food including the kids meals which came with a drink and ice cream. The food was fresh tasting and had a good array of flavours.I would have given 5 stars for the food but the dessert menu didn't have a chocolate brownie or cake option for my teenager! Easy access to condiments, cutlery, tap and sparkling water as opposed to it all being hidden behind the bar/in kitchen. Tables were well spaced out and there was ramp access for wheelchairs/prams.

Great outdoor vibes best for sunset, dog friendly. Chicken parmi is tasty with decent portion. Fish and chips on kids menu is served with good portion too. Setting suitable for gatherings.

Over an hour for dinner on a Monday night and the advertised beer with burger and fries for $18 is not real.

Great pub with good food

Amazing well-balanced pub food! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here (see before and after photos of our table). We ordered the eye fillet, steak sandwich, chicken parm and cauliflower steak. All were cooked beautifully! There are several outdoor and indoor seating options and they’re able to accommodate larger groups too. notes: -self serve water, tomato sauce and S&P -we went around 6:45pm on a Saturday and it did not feel crowded but probably due to the spaced out seating.

Ordered Sunday roast! Would have got better quality food at McDonald’s! It was awful.

The place is pretty good and parking is nice and easy. Big inside and outside areas. The chicken was cooked nicely and the crumb was nice. The tomato base was a little plain but they really had Palma ham on it ( big tick) the cheese was pretty spot on too. The chips were good and being big or thick cut held their heat nicely and the serve size was great. The coleslaw was a bit ordinary. I also liked the chef had no issues with the chilli flakes on the side. Four out of five plates cleaned. All in all it is a great place to eat and drink.

A delightful place for lunch. Excellent menu, well presented and served by efficient staff. The schnitzels are delicious and the warm lamb salad had tender slices of lamb with a crisp salad including shaved zucchini and hazelnuts. All delicious.

We spent a wonderful and extremely happy 3 hours in the Terrace Room today celebrating our mum's 91st birthday with the extended family. An initial seating for 11 was seamlessly increased to 13, the staff attending our big group were highly professional and nothing seemed to be a problem for them (all with a smile!), including preparing two huge cakes that had been brought in for the occasion. I cannot praise the service, food and atmosphere enough - top marks and a very big thank you from us all (:

Always a great spot for a beer and a meal.

Our group of 9 visited the restaurant last Friday evening. We had booked for a family birthday celebration and it was busy when we arrived at 6.30pm. Our drinks and meals were ordered before 7pm. Our food was not delivered to our table until 8.20 -8.25pm. After waiting nearly 1 hour 30 minutes we were very hungry and irritable. It also spoilt the birthday celebration for us. We have had many dinners at the Greengate over the years and have always enjoyed the experience. The kitchen was not able to cope last Friday . . We questioned the delay a number of times after the first hour but we realised that the young staff were working hard and it was not their fault. Management however needs to find out what went wrong .

I had booked a table for 7 for lunch today. Our table was really great, away from the noise and really private. I went to the counter to place an order for myself and my husband, a margherita pitza and a steak sandwich. I paid $51.36 - no credit card slip was given to me. The waitress brought me a margherita drink!!!!! My steak sandwich was very nice and my husband received his margherita pitza eventually. Not sitting next to him, I did not look at it but he complained that the crust was not crispy and it was very peppery. He did not finish it so we brought it home. When I took it out of the box and looked at it, I found prawns on the pitza and I think the peppery taste was from the prawns!!!!! He does not eat sea food of any nature at all. This is a most unacceptable mistake as had he been allergic to sea food, there could have been dire consequences. He called the hotel this afternoon and who ever he spoke to was very dismissive of his complain. We will not be going there again.

A great historical building which is well maintained by the owner. Bistro food menu has great variety although a bit on higher price side. We enjoyed the dinner although the rosemary flatbread is not that fresh and soft.

I came in on Sunday to have an arvo beer with some friends in the beer garden. We were served by friendly staff members and in particular Harry who recommended some great advice on the latest deals being pints for schooner prices all Sunday. I also enjoyed playing $1 pool. Great venue

Nice place to sit and relax with friends. The kitchen was under renovation, hence, we had limited choice of food. Tortilla wraps, roasted moroccan chicken and pulled pork burger is what we ordered.

On Friday night there was a meat raffle ran by a gentleman named Harry, he spoke very well and presented in a very friendly manner.

Vege Tortilla Wrap and frozen fries were not good from the food truck. I went to have their veg burger and fries. No match.
