Have always enjoyed the experience of the sail ⛵️ master .. friendly staff .. good food .. good atmosphere 👌 👏

Right on the water

Great location, friendly attentive staff, good food standard and selection, decent range of beers. BUT, only criticism is the soaring prices. It's our local, but we can't afford to eat and drink here as often as we would like as too expensive. Perhaps the prices could be reduced midweek to encourage locals, add a pint to the food specials, etc? 'Tourists'/Day Trippers will always pack it out on a weekend even at premium prices, but please let's foster the feel of a local.

Outrageously priced for the disappointing quality of food. Even at “pub” standard (not restaurant or fine dining) food was so below standard. We ordered Korean fried wings and a schnitty. Fried chicken was soggy, glaze was some bottle sweet sauce. Aioli was actually good, only highlight of the meal. Schnitzel was dry, small, bland, sauce was dull and fries were barely fried enough. When you pay twice as much as you would in any pub and get served such a below standard food, you leave hungry and frustrated. If you have any tastebuds, don’t waste your money there.

Four of us had dinner in the restaurant. I have been there before so recommended it. I hadn't realise the menu had changed and how small it was. There were not many choices. One of us ordered the Whiting for $52 and asked if he could have mash instead of chips was told no but could pay an extra $8 just for mash potato. The Whiting serving was very small. Definitely over priced. I ordered a bucket of crumbed prawns, the bucket was full of lettuce with only 9 prawns $44 sitting on top. The beef schnitzels were good and tasty and worth the $33 each. Drinks were exspensive too. For me the place is a pub, very noisy and overpriced for what you get. I doubt we will be back and I won't recommend it again.

We came for a birthday dinner and haven't been down this way in years. The menu and staff were amazing. The food was decently priced, but the quality was worth it. My steak was perfect. Definitely have to come back sometime.

Great food, service and ambience - fabulous views. I needed to change up what I ordered a bit - staff so accommodating and it was delicious.

Sailmaster Tavern is a wonderful spot to eat. It is only a mile from the cruise ship dock and a perfect place to go for a walk and a nice leisurely bite to eat. The staff are very friendly and the food and beer and wine are great.

6 of us just experienced an underwhelming, overpriced unorganised meal in a long time, from start to finish. Wouldn't go back.

New look and new menu are fantastic

Great food and service

Great pub, hidden away at north haven with beautiful views of the marina. Service was friendly, but didn’t eat there as were there for drinks. Cocktail specials were a nice touch. Blackberry whiskey sour and mojito were tasty.

The older lady with the glasses behind the bar and seating people should probably consider a new job or learn the art of what appropriate customer service is!! Rude, abrupt and unpleasant! Probably won’t be back, plenty of other great eateries around the Peninsula.

Nice atmosphere, glod food, recommend

Great menu

Excellent place to chill on a weekend. Great ambience and majestic views.

Eating and drinking here on the deck, looking out to the marina is a perfect way to spend an afternoon, food is great, staff are very good at their job, it’s an overall great environment

Great service and food

If i could give this establishment a 0 I would. Went there Wednesday the 29 Jan. For lunch payed 31 bucks for 6 kil Patrick oysters. Not happy I'm a diabetic, spent a week in hospital with food poisoning. Couldn't have been anything else because that was the only food I'd eaten that day. I will never set a foot in this joint again.

Excellent choice of local food at very competitive prices, and seating was comfortable for couples or families. Food was tasty and generous in size and served promptly. Great customer service from the friendly and professional staff, and overall the premises was very clean with great views of the marina and sheltered from the wind. Highly recommend the seafood basket with chips and salad, and they have a great selection of beers on tap and an extensive wine list - Gotta love that! Very Highly recommended 👏👍😊

Staff & food amazing - travelled from the Hills we booked to celebrate my Dads 95th Birthday & all that attended had a lovely time & had only good things to say. Definitely will recommend & we will keep coming back. Thankyou

Great pub and a hidden gem if your not looking for it. Great beer selection and food is always good! Plus the views, can't beat that! Lamb Pita and Nachos are a great small bite and very generous portions.

What a beautiful atmosphere and surrounds. Met my friend and kiddies for early dinner was able to bring my furr baby and sit outside! That was a first for me for a venue like that. Great choice of food items on the menu and I thought the prices were fair. I ordered the smoky brisket salad, very very delicious and the kiddo had chicken wings. Loved the mocktail options! The outdoor seating selections were great! From a more casual couch option to chairs at a table which were quite comfy! I absolutely loved the marina as a backdrop to your dining experience! Great location! Staff were very helpful and had a lovely demeanour! Thank you and see you again.

Went on a week day with family from Sydney. Not very busy. Everyone was happy with their meal choice. Worth the drive to North Haven. Dining area adjacent to marina.

Food was awful, NOT FRESH, expensive, tasteless and presented poorly. I wish I took photos. We came for lunch on Sunday afternoon and it was very disappointing from the moment we were sent to find our own pre booked table outside (never been here before) to the tasteless food served. We spent a total of $160 for 2 of us. We ordered corn ribs, 6 oysters, chicken salad and the whiting. $52 for a small piece of overcooked whiting which looked steamed not grilled as requested and a few cold chips is NOT okay. The $34 chicken salad was watery and did not taste fresh. I feel completely ripped off and will not be returning. The view outside is lovely and the gentleman who I spoke to on the phone to make the booking was incredibly kind.

Lovely redone pub. Stunning views over the water. Great food. Big selection of drinks with great drinks specials.

Great spot. However, food definitely not worth the prices being charged! We had a margarita pizza and I can honestly say this was the worst pizza we have had in a long time. Very disappointing as we love the outdoor area looking over the marina.

I thought the food was overpriced

Nice setting by Marina, but overpriced for main meals

Prices are over the top here just bought a Berry mocktail what a rip off just tasted like Berry cordial with soda water and charging 10..00 for it even lunch prices over the top how dissapointing for a local mayaswell go next door to thIe yacht club !!

Nice relaxing place by the marina for a drink and snack

Expensive for the drive Food ok

Great service. Good food. A restaurant with a view.

Great food as usual

Food is consistently terrible and ridiculous prices. So badly want the sailmaster to be good because the location and views are perfect. $14 for a tap ginger beer is criminal. Can’t even come for a drink because it’s so expensive. Huge shame, we’d be here every week if the food was edible and somewhat affordable.

Amazing food. Wonderful staff and such a great environment.

What a trash restaurant trash chef trash food I ordered the tbone Tuesday special and asked for a medium rare and received the steak RAW it has been 36 hrs now and I still have diareha and stomach problems Thanks so much

Lovely pleasant lunch with cool sea breeze. Food nicely presented & was delicious. TV screen is huge for those interested.

Great place for meals and drinks

Food was great, plus a very generous serve! Nice view and very pleasing to the eye decor to dine amongst. Will be coming back again for lunch 🙂

Shared 6 entree plates with 3 friends for $80. Love the feel of the Marina

Whole family ate here and everyone said their food was bad. Just poor quality, & unflavoursome - and expensive. It seems very clear that the management is severely cutting costs when it comes to food.

From a few years back the menu has been scaled down to some really strong options and the price has been adjusted (should be ahead of inflation for quite a long time) but the food is tasty, a great serving sizes and inviting for families with great cheaper children’s options, the staff are friendly and helpful, atmosphere generally lovely, clean and high end these days.

Never again. We had a booking for 4 for New Years Eve. They messed up our booking confusing it with booking us in for Christmas Eve. The guy we spoke to was very rude, arrogant & intimated that we confused the booking. He eventually & begrudgingly found us a table. Food overpriced & mediocre. Never again.

A Sensational Location Overlooking the Yachts at the CYCSA [Cruising Yacht Club of SA] with a large interior air conditioned restaurant-bistro and spacious outdoor decking. This place could be so much better if they upped the mentality to progress from a pub approach to concentrate on a more quality-service-food-drinks approach. I had the Seafood Marinara, this lacked taste and like many eateries had been re-heated, the quantity was on the smaller side and left you wanting more food, I ordered a Margarita that was served in a scotch glass and was a quick fix stale tasting pre-mix that required no bar skill whatsoever, $20 and a third of the drink was left at the table, I also ordered the Berry, Chocolate Mousse served in a tall and slim glass, that was OK, but nothing special... The service was reasonable although there was a very young crew on the day that looked like it was the first rodeo for most, they were polite but lacked any memorable customer service skills or polish.... This place is a gem but being run as a run of the mill pub approach and for the prices they are charging, has much more potential and more needs to be offered to impress beyond just the view.

Thank you to all the staff at Sails for making my mother’s 70th birthday celebration truly unforgettable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. Such beautiful day, everyone couldn’t stop raving! The venue was stunning and provided the perfect setting for such a special and eventful day. Your team went above and beyond - thanks to Glen! Highly recommend for any celebration!

Amazing service, food, cleanliness..just perfect Sensational views.

Disappointed lunch today. Usually we used to have tapas for lunch with drink and lovely view. Recently tapas removed from menu. So we had seafood platter for two, staying on menu crumbed king George whiting, battered flake, salt and pepper squid, smoked oysters, and garlic prawns. It all sounded well, but when platter came there was only one whiting which my partner grabbed not realised there was no other one. Battered flake was oily, no better than pub fish and chips. Chips were soggy, salad with no dressing, salt and pepper squid terrible oily, so everything has left an oily film in our mouth and feeling off from not cheap meal $95. Unfortunately this was our outings on Sundays but not any more.

Worst surf and turf ever and chicken salad was so dry...if your going to do surf and turf...do it properly fresh green prawns cooked in a garlic cream sauce...don't put 3 frozen prawns on top of a steak with bottle hollandaise sauce...then charge $54 dollars it takes 1 minute. Or get a new chef

Pretty decent place to visit. Lovely location with Marina and sunset views from outside

Salt n pepper Crocodile when it's on the menu is great for an entree is great but honestly anything we order mains or entrees is pretty fantastic from the sailmaster. This is our go to place.

What happened to the old menu? I had not been back here in almost three years but I looked forward to visiting given I was back in town for Christmas. Unfortunately, It certainly wasn’t the Sailmaster I remembered. The steak sandwich was okay but wasn’t worth $33. My mate also ordered a beef schnitzel for $31 and again it didn’t look like anything special. I’m not sure what happened to this place but I’m not planning a follow up visit during my fortnight down here!

Excellent Food and service

Very popular and busy with very nice staff and will be back 🤩

Great service for a pre-booking and order of 30+ meals The hot and delicious food hit the table as being seated. Thanks Steve

Great views.

Love this place but the new menu is horrible, bring back the old menu give us some choices,

What a wonderful and beautiful place to go and have a lovely meal and have a wonderful time ⏲️ ❤️

From arrival the service was outstanding . Trevor behind the bar was friendly and service was efficient and personable. The meals, although a little pricey, were amazing. Definitely will be returning .

Meals were very over priced for what we recieved. Won't be going back again

Our go to Restaurant when we ate staying on our Yacht

Complete RIP OFF!! Never AGAIN!! $53 for 2 wines and 1 beer Food is average at best $50 for a rib eye steak over cooked, under seasoned $17 for an ice cream cone with w scoops. NEVER AGAIN THIEVES

Always a great atmosphere and food.

Worst experience ever in Adelaide. Very low customer service and the staff are grumpy. The food wasn’t cooked properly. Not recommend

Lady taking the order was unfriendly and unhelpful Food menu is very poor and overpriced Food taste so bad and undercooked Never complained before from a restaurant but definitely never going back

Super racist and rude staff

Took a group of motorcycle mates from Melbourne there for dinner. Booked a table on the deck for 11 people no problem. My friends were very impressed with the food service and atmosphere. I'll definitely be back

Menu doesn't change much. Service is great

The food was very over priced $36.68 for a plate of fish and chips and a poor side salad. They added surcharge to my card of 68 cent - even though it was not a 'tap' transaction. The fish was flake with batter - quite greasy and the chips were not freshly cut and also greasy - tasteless and previously frozen . That's ok if I am going to Macca's or the local fish and chip take away for that quality of food . The salad consisted of a few lettuce leaves, grated carrot and two cherry tomatoes with a sweet balsamic vinegar. Not going back again . !

Good meal. Friendly staff. A couple of meals were late to our table due to a mix-up. But all in all, a very filling lunch, we didn't need dinner that night.

If you want to experience 5 out of 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere. Head to the Sailmaster. You will not regret it.
