I have eaten a few times there over a few years, but last time, I was disappointed with my platters. Not as good as they used to be, unfortunately 😕
The best pub in North Adelaide! Went there on a Friday night with my cousin and can't wait to go back again. Amongst the cool trees, warm atmosphere and delicious food, honestly, where else would you rather be?
Best local pub in North Adelaide, relaxed atmosphere and great food.
We ordered the 6 bite serve for $75 which were absolutely perfect to share sitting under one of the umbrellas at the corner of the pub underneath the shady trees. What a beautiful Location along a quiet street. With great service by Kate and the bar staff and excellent value for money food, We will be back again next Sunday.
Love it
I love the Kentish hotel with a passion. Sometimes I bring my snake with me, he also loves the Kentish, Schnitty and Guinness every time. All the other pubs look shit when compared to the Kentish, out front the kentish on a 28 degree day with a beer is magical.
Probably the best Caesar Salad/Salt n pepper Squid I’ve had in a long time & Vindaloo surprisingly good! Very happy with food, service & venue.
Great food, love the new haloumi hurger, and sitting outside under the trees is gorgeous.
Stopped in last week for lunch with family. The Kentish is a regular spot for us to catch up. The meals are always excellent and they have a good range of wines by the glass. My last lunch was a special, caesar salad with added chicken or salt and pepper squid. The serve was very generous, and the squid perfectly cooked. I'm sure I'll be back at The Kentish soon!
Went on 2 for 1 schnitty night was busy but service is good and will definitely go back 👍
Great pub, fantastic food and friendly staff. What else could you ask for.
It is an iconic pub of Adelaide. The bar people are great with their quick, friendly service. We were quickly seated in a suitable part of the hotel. I would like to update my previous review from a messy and poor kitchen habit to an amazing improvement. Fourteen months after our previous visit and the food has improved at a great price. I had the pork, and others had the duck and the lamb. We enjoyed the updated wine list 😀. I am so happy to write this review. We are looking forward to our next visit. Keep up the good work 👏.
Sitting outside was lovely. Not too busy and great food.
Great food and service.QR ordering makes getting food and drinks a breeze. Location is amazing but it was an event night so just a touch too busy to be comfortable, but completely understandable.
Had to wait half an hour for my dessert and had to ask three times other then that the place was incredible
Went there on a Thursday night. It was not very busy. The menu selections were good. The food was lovely and were good sized serves. The staff were friendly and the service was good. They allowed us to split the bill. Overall, it was a great experience.
Best pub in Adelaide. Best pint of guiness in Adelaide too!
Absolutely the best lamb rack we've had. Paired with one of Henschke's finest shiraz, it was the ideal meal to see out 2023. Lamb was cooked perfectly with charred broccoli, roasted chap potatoes and a lovely creamy red wine juz accompanying the star of the show. 5 🌟 Great service from the two girls who looked after us for the evening in a very welcoming atmosphere and perfect setting. Do yourself a favour and go there for dinner and a few beers. One of Adelaide' hidden gems! Definitely recommend to others and definitely be back 👌 Went back last night 24/8/24 for my 60th birthday with 22 friends. We had a great time and the food was all top class. Thanks again
I went here with a large group of friends a few weeks ago, and mostly, we all enjoyed it. Generally the staff were great and the food was mostly good. The letdowns were the Blue Swimmer Crab Pasta. The three of us who ordered this dish all said there was way too much chilli. Blue Swimmer crab meat is a very delicately flavoured meat - the excessive amount of chilli simply overpowered it - please reconsider how you put this dish together. These three dishes earn 1 star, the rest of the dishes earn 4 to 5 stars. Also, the mens toilets have been deteriorating for years. There are broken toilet seats, overflowing rubbish bins, a dingy look reminiscent of a 1950's public toilet that has never been remodelled. So incongruent with the rest of the hotel - it's time you upgraded them!
Arrived with a group of 11! food was amazing along with the service! Great pub!
Great food and service but I'm not sure why this place has Kentish in its name - I couldn't find anything on a menu or beer tap that's actually Kentish or even British. Great place otherwise.
Visited on the Boxing Day holiday. Had a couple of beers and shared some nachos. Beautiful spot to sit outside under the trees, watch the world go by.
Great little spot with friendly bar staff
Wide range of choices: Either select a number of small serves to share or a lot of one or two just for you. Alternatively select a meal according to traditional preferences. An excellent choice of beers, wines or spirits to add to the meal, to act as a palate cleanser or alone. We also had dessert and coffee to complete a special meal. We began with an appetiser plus sparkling water, chose beer or wine to add to our meals, then completed the meal, as stated, with dessert and coffee. The service was discrete, informative and yet attentive. The decor was warm and inviting. There is carpeted floors which minimises noise levels. We will definitely come again.
Great place to eat,and meet friends in Adelaide. Great service too.
Total stuff up. We were a group of 12 and our food never came. They hadn't sent the entire order through to the kitchen. After an hour we all got our money back and left. Got yiros down the road at half the price.
First class food and service . Will be back for sure.
Another great small local pub
Could get a bit noisy when a large group congregates to celebrate making it hard for others to converse.
Food was amazing staff were great and had a good atmosphere.
Great pub nice outdoor area and good selection of traditional
The food was delicious . Love it . Great atmosphere and great service.
The Kentish is our #1 local Hotel where the friendly staff always greet us upon arrival, and you know that the food and service will always be great. This is a great old fashioned hotel located in a beautiful location and there are NO poker machines.
Beautiful sunny day catching up with friends on the labour day public holiday Monday. Yummy food and excellent service. Forgot to take pics of said food n drinks 🍸 🙃 😅
Great food, with diverse menu. Shared plate options great. Plenty seating including outside.
Great pub for a drink.
Don’t get the rare beef with greens. It’s $34 and the sauce is very spicy, meat is chewy. The greens is small bits of beans and the rest is been shoot ( $2) a bag. So I’m not sure why they are charging so much if it’s this ? ( photo) PS - tap sparkling is $7 Most places is $2
Amazing pub in a beautiful street
Lovely place with really friendly and helpful staff. Diane sauce is delicious, chips were beautifully cooked and salad was very moreish.
Food was absolutely Fantastic, can't wait to go back 😋
The staff were lovely and accommodating. The food was great. I felt no pressure to be moved on after we ate. Highly recommend.
We had a excellent 80th birthday here, the staff, could not do enough to make our day great, food excellent, Good old fashion corner pub, with a great atmosphere 😀
Great place, atmosphere, service & food.....can't complain at all.
One of the best hotels in Adelaide..Amazing food every time. 10 /10
Had a brilliant lunch, give the lamb back strap a go
horrible staff - staff are slow and don’t really talk to you you have to constantly go up to them and the food took 1 hour to arrive
Went with 3 friends last night and we all agreed the food was delicious. I had the Atlantic Salmon and it was the best I have ever had, delicious flavours accompanying it. Compliments to the chef!! Recommend dish, Atlantic Salmon, Butter Chicken. Will I go again, most definitely!!
Can't say enough good things about the Kentish Hotel. Walked in, felt that welcoming vibe right away. Staff? Friendly and helpful from the get-go. Dining room? Timeless, modern, loved the gin bottle decor. Checked out the beer garden, looked amazing. Can't wait to grab a drink out there sometime. Meals? Tasty. Beef schnitzel, chicken schnitzel, couldn't find a fault.
Food lovely. Great building and styling. However let down by misleading opening times and staff more interested in closing early than service. Advertised to stay open until midnight but calling last round at 9:30pm.
Been taking the family here each week for a while now as live close by. This place never disappoints. Food is always good and the staff are very well trained and friendly. Orders are taken quickly and food comes out fast. Can order via an app which is very convenient. 5 Stars
I love the location of this iconic hotel, and I enjoy meeting friends for a drink. However, other surrounding hotels offer happy hour and more reasonable snack food prices, which becomes enticing during these times.
Great food and the service was very good. However, we felt it was cold and requested the heat be turned up. Why don't pubs have fireplaces anymore? They create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Good pub food and outdoor seating. Long wine list and craft beers on tap.
I catch up with friends after the work week and mostly go through the red wine selection, which is excellent. I've had the arancini bites and cannot find any fault in the dish. Staff are quick and attentive. The vibe is quite lively, even during mid-week at times. A lovely pub with lots of seating - at the restaurant, at the front bar, at the backyard and also out on the area outside of the pub.
The food was very nice. The outside area out the back was really comfortable and an enjoyable experience
Visiting from NSW. Lovely old building. Friendly helpful staff. Quite busy for a Monday night which shows it's a good place. Beautiful decor. Awesome courtyard. Plenty of dining space inside, out the front and in the courtyard with heaters. We had a yummy snack of sharing starters washed down with scotch and beers.
A classic pub feel with some unique takes on standard pub food. Well cooked and delicious consistently. Great environment for a weekend lunch spot. Service is standard and works well. Good drinks selection on tap. Even though food portions have decreased in size slightly over the last year it's still delicious and an enjoyable experience overall.
Food was acceptable pub food. The staff were helpful with everything. It was ANZAC night so crowded and noisy, especially in the rear dining room. It was good at doing what pubs do.
Beautiful place, amazing food, me and my girls had a good time on Friday night.
Great food and on a Wednesday night it's two for one schnitzels which was a great deal and delicious, but they had the most expensive beer on tap ever! A cheap meal turned into a rather expensive one. It also had the vibe of being a local pub with only locals in it, felt a little out of place not being from the area.
