While on a cruise we had a day in Melbourne, Australia. I sent an email to the St. Kilda Sports Club via their website, asking if my friend and I could come by to throw some darts. They responded within two hours inviting us to come by! A short tram ride and a five minute walk and we were there. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and taken to the best dart board setup I’ve ever seen! Nice boards, excellent lighting and an oche that was attached to the floor! And it was all within a few steps of a beautiful, well stocked bar. We had a great afternoon and spoke to Julie and others who wanted to meet us. If you are in Melbourne, stop by the St Kilda Sports Club! Great people, darts, lawn bowling and more! Loved it! Thank you to our new friends in St Kilda!

As a cruise ship tourist we were looking for venue to throw a few darts and enjoy a pint and take in the atmosphere — fabulous location with friendly, helpful staff (Julie and crew), and numerous well set up boards. Easy to reach with public trams from cruise terminal and city center. Couldn’t say enough good things about the experience. So visiting dart players - take note! *UPDATE - Summer Singles darts league starting Thursday Feb 6th 2025* Great place for darts, 4 brand new permanent boards with electronic scoreboards situated in the main bar and 6 more in the function room. The darts committee hold regular comps over summer and an 18 -week winter league (teams)that runs on Thursdays from May to end of September. Great social darts and they are very welcoming to new players. Come down any Thursday, bring your own darts or use the venues own. Drinks are cheap - $5.00 for a pot of Carlton draught and the place is packed over summer. The darts boys stage international exhibition games and over the years have featured Dimitri Van Den Bergh, Brendan Dolan, Michael Manley and Terry Jenkins

Great day out for the work team to bond over Barefoot Bowls and a BBQ

We had our workplace Christmas party here and it was a blast and the perfect summer venue. We went lawn-bowling in the morning, pub lunch, and free-flowing drinks and barbecue throughout. It was awesome.

The St.kilda Sports Club is the best venue in St.kilda. It's a pivotal part of the community. Play lawn bowls. Drink beer. Play darts or pool. Watch some live bands. Get married there. (I did.) Hold a wake. Host a party. The function room is excellent for all sorts of purposes.

Great facilities and atmosphere. Unfortunately the quality of the green surface was a major letdown. Extremely slow and uneven playing surface. Certainly not suitable for important tournaments.

We all look around to find a place where we can go that provides an environment where you feel safe being there. A place that is friendly or a place to meet up with friends and have drink or just that place that you are always welcome. Well for me it's the St Kilda bowls club. And it's never better than when summer is here. Nothing beats a beautiful warm summer afternoon having a game of lawn bowls with friends while having a couple of drinks music is playing in the background and the happy voices or sound of laughter and the smiles on people's faces. Why wouldn't I want to be there ? And after the 10 plus years I can say I haven't found a better place to go. And the place has got better over the years. Now it provides during the week with pool, dart and poker competition. Trivia night and come Friday and over the weekend there's band's playing in bar area or in the function room. And on the day's that there's nothing there that doesn't mean that there's no one there. On the contrary it's a time to catch up with a friend or that time were you just want to have a drink or a chat. A place to relax. It has came a long way since I got there. Come and enjoy what we do best have fun at the club. This is my club and funny enough I was practicing when I got an email asking me to review this place. It's not your average bowl's club it's location and the history of the suburb have influenced and left a lasting impression over this club. It celebrated it's 150 yrs of existence and it's been a colourful one. The original club house still stands and it's in use plus over the years they have added on more. And now it's time to celebrate it's 160th birthday The atmosphere is fantastic and as I said earlier come summer there is no better place to spend a evening or night. From the members to the social members and to the walking in people who come in to kill a few hrs with friends it's a world within a world. Trying to find word's to describe this entity is not easy you have to experience it. So to anyone who finds themselves in St Kilda should go and see for themselves. And the chances are you will come back. As for me I have made some good friends and while I don't live in the area even in the event of me playing bowls somewhere else I can safely say that I can't ever see myself not coming here again. It has become a part of me or better I have become a part of it. And finally to the locals that live in St Kilda and to everyone who goes to the bowl's club and to the ones that are still to go there. Remember that this entity is still there because of your attendance there. It's to survive another 160 years it needs your help. And that is by going there and keeping it alive and kicking. It owes its existence to you. Never forget that

We hosted our wedding at the St Kilda Sports Club and could not have been more happy with our experience. We wanted a casual party and working with Apollo and Scott to create our special night was so easy and nothing was too much trouble for them. Could not recommend more highly.

I booked out the function room and 2 rinks for my 60th birthday. From the time I booked to the event day, the staff were all so helpful but most of all really friendly. It was a busy day with a few international tournaments on but nothing was too much trouble for them. I had such a great day and one of the main reasons was the staff. Great venue too. Awesome event room.

Great club in the city, got good facilities, with some great value drinks. Staff were good with the group and helpful with tips for first timers as we were all new. Absolutely recommend coming down and giving the bowls a go here

The last bastion of St Kilda in St Kilda.

A great place for a casual bowl for experienced and rank novices right in the heart of St Kilda. Friendly staff and refreshingly, no pokies. There's plenty of dart boards and a pool table and you can fire up the barbecue if the weather permits. Good prices for beers and other drinks. Membership is offered too (even better prices!) You might want to learn the bowling etiquette and rules before you step on the perfectly manicured greens out of respect to those who lovingly tend them!

Highly recommend for a game of lawn bowls. Even if you don't know how to play!! They are extremely helpful in guiding you on how to play. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Scott was perfectly attentive. So drop in and have a game, or a beer they even offer beer cosies !!!!!!!

Fantastic venue, play darts there on a Thursday night and the odd weekend. Great set-up with up to 8 boards. Staff are fantastic and really friendly, highly recommend if you’re into darts and outdoor bowls.

My mate had a surprise 30th at the lovely St. KSC. Stunning night and the water fountain is elite. Pressure, temperature and taste all unrivaled by any other water bubbler/fountain I’ve tried in all my experiences.
