I met with 3 friends ( as we all live near the pub) for a drink on Sat evening at the tables out on Carrington st. As a result of the pleasant atmosphere and lovely wine , we ordered a bite to eat.I ordered the nachos and paid extra for brisket. Unfortunately it was awful. It was luke warm, the melted cheese was congealed and the few tiny pieces of brisket I paid extra for were dry and looked like leftovers from the lunch sandwich deal. The highlight was a small fresh dob of guacamole and sour cream that must have been added once the corn chops were taken out of the microwave. I saw a photo from another review showing the nachos with fresh slices of avocado and coriander garnish etc, .that influenced my choice to order it??? hmm none of that on my serve.😳

First time here...so disappointed was under the impression australia day smoked meat , live music from 2pm??? No ..false advertising just live music😫

Chef's low n slow, smoked, beef brisket is off the charts good.

When asked whether the schnitzel was made in the house the waiter with the beard response was; we don't raise chickens in here, absolutely unprofessional and arrogant attitude of him, whilst food was mediocre, the pub itself has been redone nicely, although we won't be back, shame after the owners have spent big bucks, people are pushed away due to bad service and mediocre food.

Came from Bendigo and tried the pub across the road and Brodie and Ewan were unreal service and the new pokies room was unreal to be in with new wireless charging stations for our phone and payed well. The whole experience was good with Ewan and Brodie looking after us the whole time

Lovely spot to have a quick meal before going to the Arts Theatre.

I would love to say it was great but we ordered at 5.30 as we had to be at the theater at the 7.30 . This was told to the staff We were one of the first to order I think we were forgotten as people after us were served before us. One of the staff realized and asked kitchen to rush our ordered ( much appreciated by the way ) We didn't get our meals until 6.45 and unfortunately the food was very average.

Lots happening on Saturday evening when we went for dinner. The noise level was very high but everyone was having a good time. Excellent meal and the staff were lovely.

Atmosphere was great, service was friendly and welcoming food was average had Salt and Pepper squid, good size portions salad was not dressed, chips not salted and none available on tables. Squid batter no flavour.

A regular but popped in on a Wed night and pleased to see such a nice atmosphere early. About 20 people - office workers, paralegals and locals. Staff are so much friendlier here than other nearby pubs. Happy hour 4-6pm is a winner. Meals tasty and reasonably priced. (I accidentally dropped / smashed a glass and staff were wonderful about dealing with that.) Gotta love Sarries!

It's OK. Standard pub fare. Pleasant enough staff but lots of functions mean limited access to certain areas.

Came here for a work farewell today. We all loved it. Great venue. Huge meals for really good price. Try the express menu for $15. There was so much food really nicely cooked. Looking at this for our work Christmas lunch. Loved it!

Largely ignored by staff and the worst chicken wings i've ever had in my life. Crumbed (?) and clearly been cooked in old oil or oil that had just done fish. Literally inedible.

Had a lovely night at the Saracens Head. However access to the premises was difficult. There is a ramp to enter but you have to be up the ramp to open the door, which was impossible for me. Thankfully a patron opened the door. There was another hurdle when I entered because there were stools and chairs and tables blocking my pathway to the restaurant. Fortunately the patron moved these for me. When I needed to use the accessible toilets I found it filled with a high chair, boxes and a table. Staff were happy to remove them but there wasn't enough room to turn my wheelchair, I couldn't lock the door. I had to reverse out of a narrow walkway.

Got the gnocchi special. About 1/3 of it was burnt. The garlic and cheese bread just had cheese melted on the top. Had to spend time trying to spread the cold garlic butter on a moderately warm soft roll. This was after the QR code wouldn't let us order at the table or show us a menu. The staff were friendly. The meal was disappointing.

The food was absolutely terrible, it was clear a foreign chef made the food as it isn’t hard to execute western simple pub food. The food was cold when it came out, the parmi had barely any sauce. We asked for medium rare steak and it came out blue. They also had around 40 patrons and one person serving all of them so the food was a huge wait time. Pub food is always hit and miss but this was incredibly disappointing. Theres coopers ale house and rob roy hotel close by that have way better food if you’re looking for an alternative option, I wouldn’t even waste my money or time coming here

$35 meal. Supposed to include sweet potato chips which they forgot. Then they delivered a bowl of soggy oily chips . 3 chips. YES THREE MEASLY CHIPS. SHAME ON YOU. It looked like they were left overs from someone elses plate. Will not be back.

Food is great!

Another special outing for sister Cate - gee she loves to get out and about, infact this her second visit in a matter of weeks - party girl! Well she recommended the brisket burger and she was once again on the money! Incredible value and fantastic taste. Bigger buns than Darcy Fog, hats off to you SH you’ve made Muriel smile.

I didn’t eat but a great little pub with a great atmosphere.

Place was dead, several bar tenders standing around doing nothing and it still took over 20 mins to have a cocktail made.

We had drinks here, the dining, winning and entertainment area is so much bigger than expected. Looks like a great place We came back - great dance place enjoy!!

We booked a venue as a whole staff, 85 people. $45 per head for an entree and main course starting at 12.30pm. Entrees were served to the two tables they forgot about at 2.15pm. Vegans got a piece of corn on a stick. Vegetarians got arancini served on a plate with meat. It is now 2.30pm and the mains are still being served. Very bad.

We hosted a Christmas party for 16 people at the Saracens Head Hotel on December 8th, and it was a disappointing experience. DO NOT ORDER THE PRE SET CHRISTMAS MENU. While the staff was kind, the food quality did not meet expectations. The slow-roasted cauliflower was undercooked, the turkey excessively dry, and the potatoes were underdone. The beef Wellington was dry, and the lobster didn't match its menu representation. Dessert was a letdown – panna cotta with canned cherries instead of the promised mixed berry compote and biscuit. The functions manager explained the missing items to hotel been busy and no deliveries, but it raised concerns about menu accuracy. Sadly, our team left disheartened. Would not go here again.

Attended today for a Christmas function ready to celebrate with colleagues. Meals were pre ordered so we were all set and ready to go upon arrival. Fast forward 30mins and the food comes out. Lamb Salad was a HUGE disappointment. Small piece of lamb overcooked on a bed of bland salad. Definitely not worth the $28 being charged. Meals were inconsistent across the table but the general consensus was that meals were bland and lacked basic flavour. Very over priced for what they providing. Venue was crammed in and atmosphere was loud and not enjoyable. At least the beer was cold! Definitely better places out there!!!

If you like bland food then this place is for you. No dressing on the salad, no salt on the chips. The “Fish” (flake) was also nothing to rave about, so much turmeric that for a second I thought I’m eating Indian.

We recently held a large function at the Saracens Head and couldn't be happier with this brilliant venue, their great events team and the food and drink on offer. If you're looking to put on an event, big or small, I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Had the Jackfruit curry for something different. Jackfruit was basically unedible and tasted like it came straight from the freezer, barely any sauce and just put on a bowl of rice with nothing else. I ate 10% of it and waitress just took it away, didn't ask how it was or anything. Waste of $26

We had a birthday function here and overall it was unfortunately a disappointing experience for us and we left the venue very unhappy. The venue itself is great, the addition of pool tables and gaming machine made it very entertaining and enjoyable for the guests. However the management here is very very disappointing. Upon booking the event, we had one contact with the function manager to book the day however we later did not hear from him till 3 days prior to the event. We wanted to confirm everything a week prior and discuss/book in our food order as we were having an event with a young audience we wanted to make sure there was going to be a sufficient amount of food catered for the guests. However, as we called him he said he was busy and couldn’t take our call at the moment. Which was understandable and he said he would call us back the day. But we did not receive a call so we call the next day and the same situation occurred (this happened 3 times), told us he would call us back. We never received a call back, it was not until we finally managed to get in touch with him 1 day prior to the event. We did also send an email during this time. The service was good, the employees were very nice and helpful. However, the food was absolutely terrible. Which is why we originally wanted to get in contact with the function manager. Not every one of our guests received food as we did a variety cocktail food, which ultimately left our guests upset and very hungry. The food was decided by the function manager as this is what he recommended for us to do and assured us it would be enough for the event. Which was very disappointing as a huge portion of the bill was put towards the catering for the guest and as the host it made me feel very bad that guests went home unhappy and hungry. I spoke to one of the employees and he was very understanding and understood where I came from. He even mentioned sometimes the chef can be stingy and not provide a good amount of food due to wastage. He told me to contact the function manager which I did the next day and it has now been a month and I have had no contact from him. The venue manager responded to me a couple of days after the email however since then I have had no response and even sent a follow up email. Overall, was a disappointing experience . As a customer I did not feel we received what we really paid for, which the bill came out to be very expensive. Even with offering to talk to us about the event, I still have not heard anything. Which is the reason for this review so others are aware.

Braised beef cheeks. More boiled. I was so looking forward to that. Please sort that out what ever that was. I was offered a replacement meal and or a few drinks which I denied, but I do appreciate that. Think I had a free beer.

Perfect pub for all varieties of people. This pub can serve people in suits or a tradie in high vis. Great pub all round. Food was great, staff really nice.

First time I have been here, it was very nice inside, and a large area with tables and chairs. We had the Wednesday special which was burger and chips with a beer of your choice for $20. Really enjoyed the meal and would recommend. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
