Some of the customers were rude and made anxiety worse. The food is expensive

The shop and RPG side of the business is fine but eat before you go. They don't allow outside food because they sell food there, which is fine, but the food is subpar (even before the move) for the price. They make the food off-site and send it to the location. I have personally waited 4 hours (yes, F O U R) for food. I didn't receive updates on the wait or why it was delayed. I never even received an apology. The staff member looked annoyed I was even asking after having already waited 3 hours (I only raised the issue at the 2 hour, 3 hour and 4 hour mark). Other attendees have also waited 2+ hours.

nice and energetic environment, the staff are warm hearted and offer mostly positive service, can be rough sometimes and the meals can take awhile, but otherwise? pretty solid place to go with friends and just have a good time

Good place for gaming but until they open the kitchen at the actual location and not delivered from their resturant location, ordering food isn't worth it. Food is either luke warm or cold.

The best place to play board, tabletop DnD, and card games in the Brisbane surrounds. I drive down from the northside each fortnight to play here. Large tables, friendly people, and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. Staff and facilities are great. Great food options with generous portion sizes.

It can be difficuilt to find social activities in appropriate, safe environments for young adults and adults who (like myself) are more conservative, however Epic is an all inclusive environment with friendly easy to talk to staff. Its not only a great place to participate in group activities and make friends, but also somewhere to get away from stress, do your own thing and just chill ... with great food service!!

We came down to see EPIC Ipswich on the weekend and to be honest your photos don't do the place enough justice, clean, well organised and friendly, well done we will be back.

Only been once as a big yugioh fan. Great selection of cards and stuff but rudeness is crazy. Pulling faces and arguing over things that don't matter. After reading a couple of the owners replies to other reviews I can see he is just a rude guy that refuses to accept any responsibility. Other staff member I met was nice but overshadowed by that guy. Possibly the worst customer service experience.

My recent visit to EPIC Ipswich left me with a sense of disappointment, primarily due to an unfortunate encounter with a staff member. As a delivery driver, my first impression of the restaurant was overshadowed by a lack of clarity regarding staff roles and a discourteous interaction. Upon entering, I faced difficulty in locating a staff member to assist with confirming and collecting my order. This initial challenge was compounded by the absence of clear identification of employees, making it difficult to discern who was available to help. In my attempt to seek assistance, I mistakenly approached a customer, assuming she was a staff member. Unfortunately, when a staff member eventually appeared, the encounter turned unpleasant. The staff member's response was brusque and unwelcoming, as she reprimanded me loudly and rudely for engaging with customers. Despite my polite explanation of being unfamiliar with the restaurant's procedures due to it being my first visit, the staff member's demeanor remained abrasive. Even after relocating to the counter as instructed, I encountered further rudeness and was reminded once again of the protocol in a manner that left me feeling embarrassed and frustrated. My attempt to escalate the situation by requesting to speak to a supervisor was met with refusal, as the staff member claimed no one was available to address my concerns. Despite this negative experience, I must acknowledge the restaurant's cleanliness and the apparent potential for enjoyable activities within the establishment. However, the lack of professionalism and courtesy demonstrated by one staff member significantly detracted from the overall atmosphere. While I sincerely hope that this encounter does not reflect the attitude of all staff members at EPIC Ipswich ,it undeniably tarnished my perception of the establishment's customer service standards. Regrettably, I am unable to provide the name of the staff member involved, but she worked at the front counter on 25/04/2024 and had blonde hair

Terrible service, overpriced canteen, terrible prize structure. Will be going to G'day Tcg venue. Would recommend that everyone checks him out on facebook. Owner Maverick is terrific and friendly. More bang for your buck.

Ordered for delivery, about $50 worth. Food was delicious, but even for a mini, portion was TINY! $22 teeny tiny schnitzel with MAX a dozen chips? And half a dozen leafy bits (variety) in my salad. Disappointed because the food taste was excellent, but the price vs portions are tempting me to not want to order again. Definitely wouldn't boycott after one meal though, because again, the flavours were awesome, portion for price was just a bit ridiculous. Might be better next time.

Staff are very polite and helpful. Had a bad experience my first time going where my friend and I had bought food and they made us eat it outside, 1st game store to ever do that. But they now have a sign informing you on the door not to bring outside food or drinks. Have had good experiences since.

Very nice facility, has lots of tables for events like DnD, card games and tabletop gaming, the venue also has a Cafe with a good stock of drinks and a menu. The store also has plenty of stock for gaming and arts and crafts such as paints, acrylics, inks, craft paper and accessories. Would strongly recommend for events and checking out hobby supplies

Wow I just ordered off uber eats...never heard of this place...omg I've been missing out!!! The food arrived to my house in brassall piping hot and delicious!!!! 10/10

Great place to play cards and a great restaurant. They were very helpful with my friends diverse dietary needs, one night my friends and I were in playing cards and my friend felt overly hungry, he ordered a hot dog with everything, I mean more than the lot. Epic were more than happy to provide the super loaded hot dog my friend needed. My other friend wanted a hot dog without the bun, nothing is too much for epic and they were very helpful in working with our dietary needs, they even delivered it to his table after he had moved seats. In conclusion the staff at epic chiefly Larry, Mark, Duffy, Trevor and Trish make this a great place to spend an evening.

Fantastic place, the staff are really kind, they have a great assortment of games and great food. If you are in the area they are definitely worth checking out

I go here every week to catch up with a friend and have a coffee. Sometimes being a board game with me, sometimes just chill but I am yet to have a bad experience. Boardgame section has gotten smaller over time (down to one, maybe two displays). Plenty of trading card and figurine stuff though!

This place is the best hobby/nerd shop and takeaway place I've been to in a loooong time. I've not had a bad meal and the prices are good. I regularly hang out here with friends new and old.

I’ve come here a few times now as a reward night for my kids. A great place to play just about any board game you want and some pool without having to be at a pub. The milkshakes are good too.

Just finished the YuGiOh OTS Champs event. Had a decent time, but by the end I was livid at the conduct of one of the staff - the older bloke with the dreads and piercings. There was an issue with the final standings and when I wanted to address my confusion he angrily told my friends and I that he didn’t care and that it wasn’t his problem that the final scores were mixed up - at such an important event where top places get invites to an exclusive follow up tournament. Additionally - while I can’t speak for myself - a friend told me that he could swear he heard the man in question utter that he gets “…so mad that I could hit someone”. Just an incredibly odd, impatient, unprofessional, poor mannered man that soured the mood of myself and others. Everyone else was fine and otherwise a great venue 👍 Edit 25/9/23 RE:- Sure - that may not be his nature. Be that as it may, I would not have written this review if this did not happen, if I wasn’t talked down to the way I was which can be corroborated by several others. Regarding the judges, I scarcely saw them operate the tournament software that night. What I did see was them telling the staff in question what numbers to infill - playing Chinese Whispers with match results, I think the problem that night was between the computer and the chair. I want to reiterate that I rather do enjoy the store, it’s a great venue! But my brother, who attends the store every week for One Piece TCG tournaments reckons that whenever this staff in question is around, everyone has to walk on eggshells lest they say the wrong thing and get chewed out for it.

After competing in the OTS store champs there was a issue with the final standings at the end which caused confusion. When it was brought to light the fella behind the counter running it got very angry and refused to do anything about it. What could had been sorted out fairly easily in the end was never sorted out at all.

Good place, good staff. However the worker in the dreads soured my experience. Even saying he's going to hit someone in the store. Would avoid having him working around children for their safety. Owner is pretty good.

We hold a meeting there on a regular basis. Food is great but allow time for it to be cooked and served with the huge amount of orders they take. Can be an hour wait.

It’s a great place to have fun and play games unfortunately I’ve had some questionable experiences with staff were it is unpleasant and rude and now feel uncomfortable going anywhere near the kitchen I still love this place and their products and love the people but I’m uncomfortable around some of the staff 😅

I love the place the venue is great for a tasty meal from their home style Menu. Whether you want a place to meet your friends in a chill atmosphere or have to host a staff meeting, the Epic centre is for you. Their venue is accessible for wheelchair users as well. you won't be disappointed.

Have to give an average review unfortunately. On one hand it's a nice clean venue with good food and plenty to do, where it lacks is some of the staff are rude. I've heard some shouting at children. Children do stuff wrong fair enough but just simply go talk to the parents instead of blasting a toddler. Other staff seemed a bit condescending. I asked for a napkin and was asked what I needed it for. Like really? On the flip side of that coin there is a gentleman that works there with tattoos and piercings who is absolutely exceptional and very accomdating. If I could figure out what days he works I would base my visits around that. If things keep going negative I'm more than happy to spend my money elsewhere.

This place is definitely unique in a good way ❤️ I attend their bingo, and they are always so nice and helpful, they have a Cafe and there food is always delicious but there coffee or chai can be a hit and miss, but I have just brought my own hot drink everytime scene as I had gone back to the Cafe to ask for a replacement, they happy did so and it was worse. There is a habit of no one at the Cafe after the Bingo break, but I'm not to concerned about a drink, I just bring my own for now on.

Excellent customer service!

It was well set out. The overall store felt encouraging to grab a drink and food to sit and play a variety of hobbies and games for longer. Toliets were visable and clean. A very comfortable place to hang out with friends and family.

I found Epic Ipswich by accident one night while looking for something to eat on UberEats. What I found amazed me. The food alone is worth 5 stars. Wholesome home cooked style meals with fantastic servings and the best gravy I’ve ever had in my life. Thinking Epic was just a restaurant I decided to look into it further and what I found was a gamers paradise. I started gaming in 1980 with TSR’s Dungeon board game and quickly progressed to the OG D&D Red box Basic Rules. I gamed all through the 80’s and 90’s and suffered the stigma attached to gaming back then. If I had access to a place like Epic back in the day perhaps I’d still be rolling the dice all these years later. I just can’t believe that a place like this exists in Ipswich and it makes me proud to see gamers have an amazing safe space to meet, eat and play. Congratulations Epic you rolled a 20 on this one. Big +5 to your wonderful kitchen people. Thank you.

Came to play DnD, stayed for the cafe. Plenty of board games for free play, a few Indie board games for purchase. Most if not all DnD books in stock and a decent craft area.

Perfect little magic hollow, offering a place to play various organised games, and a whole extensive wall of board games you are welcome to play at your leisure. There is a great menu choice, and enjoyable food. I highly recommend taking anyone of any age for a meal and a game. And a hobby shop/board game shop inside for all your hobby needs. A1, needs more advertising for this great place!

Absolutely LOVE this place. Very good environment and friendly staff aswell. I'm always there for Yugioh every Thursday and the community is just awesome. This place is fantastic. As an avid gamer and hobbyist, this place has so many things to do and participate in and the space to do it. They carry a variety of items and stock to cover almost every gaming interest and best of all, there is a kitchen for your convenience in the shop. And their food is amazing. As a family man and longtime gamer, I'm keen to be able to bring my children to such a great establishment.

Super helpful in knowledge of some specific games and card covers we needed. We discussed bringing a sheltered support group coming in to enjoy the games and billiards etc. They were very positive and forthcoming with the 'how to' and giving out flyers.

Never had a poor experience here! Incredible food, caring staff, booking a table slot is free which is an incredible pro! Staff and regulars are more than happy to chat with/assist new GMs with game aspects and rules pre-session, even if you don't know them too well. My only unsavory experience was dealt with so quickly and gracefully that it doesn't affect my score in the slightest! Also, they have the best chips in Ipswich (best battered sav too!).
