This place was amazing! The hotel was renovated and new look. Honestly this my first time for us to stay in Hobart but so worth it! If you stay on weekend you can enjoy the salamanca market! Also you can enjoy the ambience of European house in Battery Point.The last things its is if you bring your car, they have free parking! So my conclusion this place was Amazing❤️

It was newly renovated, perfect to go to market. Great food in lounge area. Across from Bakery.

I agree 100% with Rose Wade's review. A group of us used to be regular lunch diners. Not sure what has happened on the food side of things but will not be returning.

Fantastic pints

Had an excellent experience at the bar! The chicken wings were perfectly crisp and tender, and the staff were attentive, asking if we wanted sauce on the side. The Scotch fillet was cooked exactly how we wanted it and was huge—about 400 grams! The fresh veggies and potatoes were top-notch as well. A big shoutout to Bishnu for the great service and to the kitchen staff for an incredible meal!

Great pub in Battery Point. Had fish & chips for Sunday lunch, well priced, good serving size and taste. Washed down with a couple of Boags XXX Ale’s it was fantastic! Recommend to all

Had dinner here 2 nights in a row. Good pub prices, lamb shank with mashed potato and peas was hitting the right spot. Enjoyed the banana and macadam spring rolls. Beers were good value too. 2nd night had fish n chips with salad. Decent portions too. Had apple and blueberry crumble. Really friendly staff. Prices were very reasonable. Seniors catered for...$16 +. Wait time apx 10-15 minutes. Definitely recommend this pub.

We went for lunch the meals were good. Parking is a bit of an issue we were lucky 2 spots left.

Not staying here but just wandered in for a meal with my wife. Certainly can't complain about either meal. Both were delicious and well priced. I had a porterhouse with chips and salad and my wife had lime and pepper squid with chips and salad. Beer was also very cold and we happened to strike it at happy hour. Magic. Thanks to the staff for an enjoyable night.

I've stayed here before, the reason I chose it again is the price and location. Great location with a short walk and some steps down to Salamanca Place. Its a typical older hotel, you get what you pay for and so long you are not expecting 5 stars, its great! I will stay here again..

For what we paid it was ok, however more effort could be made with cleaning. Food was okish and staff were very friendly and accomodating.

NOISE WARNING. This is not a hotel. It is a few rooms above a busy pub with live music and karaoke until midnight. The walls and floors are so thin you can clearly hear the pub goers talking and the live music is loud enough in the room to make having a conversation difficult. Walls between rooms are paper thin, so hope you don't have a snorer nearby. The overall condition of the rooms is poor, cleanliness of the bathroom was poor. The men's toilets for the pub were disgusting. Location is excellent and the pub sounded like a lot of fun, but do not stay here if you expect to sleep before 1am.

Great place for get together with friends and enjoy a few drinks and meals are awesome. The staff are so good and polite and the Manager is so great he makes you feel so welcome.

A fantastic pub nestled in Battery Point. The ambiance is exceptional, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the convenience of off-street parking adds to the overall positive experience

Stayed here for three nights in the peak season... It was priced high as the location is a premium suburb of Battery point. The staff was very friendly. However there is a lot of scope for improvement in terms of cleanliness of the room. The rooms were also a bit smaller than expected. I am sure they can do better and has some scope for improvement.

Very applicable prices for food and astonishing service from the staff as they are friendly to chat with and are always available for a conversation. Highly recommend both chicken and beef schnitty as they are well priced and better than most pubs with taste and especially size. Overall a top spot if travelling around Hobart and a great option for a holiday beer.

The hotel rooms were alright, but I was very happy with the service, enjoyed drinking at the bar and had a very good time on the Friday night listening to the rock band playing on my first night and the staff was very good, I’m not sure the name of the girl but she had long blonde hair working in the bar and dining service. The all the staff was very good and enjoyed their service. We stayed at the hotel from 13/10/23-17/10/23

Very dissapointed with the meals. Service was good but we ordered fresh baked focaccia" and what we got was a white roll that came from the fridge to the oven. Inside was really cold and it wasn't a focaccia. We also ordered the "crispy skin" pork. Which was not crispy at all."

Lovely food, shame about the parking

OK venue. Nice pub style restaurant but my meal was served cold and looked very unappetising on the plate. I ordered the beef silver side roast dinner. It resembled slop on a plate. Very dissapointed .

We had dinner here, and food was not bad with pretty reasonable prices. The food took an hour to arrive, though, and staff were quite withdrawn and unapproachable. Not sure I would recommend, but not bad for a simple night out.

Unplanned visit, surprised with good food and great service from Grace our server who was friendly, cheerful and just made the dinner that bit more special. Walk in customer for dinner, unable to comment on the rooms.

Fix your sign. It says open from 10am everyday and walking in at 11am (which, mind you is one hour after 10am, in case your staff weren’t aware or don’t know how time / clocks function) we were greeted by an incredibly rude, grumbling, grunting person who was not welcoming in the least. Battery Point is beautiful, too bad this grumpy man spoiled our morning. Cheer up babe, life’s good when you’re not being rude to people. Give it a try!!

Had two great meals at the Prince of Wales Hotel while on vacation in Hobart last week. The service was prompt, thoughtful and friendly and the food was excellent. We were well looked after and thoroughly recommend this place.

Wasn't open at 11.30 am, said it was open at10.00

No lift, we have to carry 4 luggages upstairs; no hair dryer, kettle is not working. But self service laundry and clothes dryer are free which is good. Central location, close to Salamanca market, 15 minutes walk

Found this place as the restaurant attached to our hotel was under renovation. We had the Stuffed chicken breast W/mash & beans, lamb croquettes & a garden side salad. Honestly, I couldn't fault the meals. The staff were attentive & knowledgeable. It was all round a great night out. Perhaps my only regret is that we didn't book into the attached hotel. However I'd have no hesitation returning to this restaurant.

Not sure why enyone would want to go here. An absolute waste of money. Rooms are dirty, bathroom is not clean, hairs and stains on the bedding !!!! I booked for 2 nights and seriously regretted it !!!!

Stayed one night. The price was decent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. However the windows to our room had been left open and these windows were immediately above the outside smoking area, hence the room reeked of cigarette smoke. Made for a terrible night sleep for a couple of non smokers...

We don’t mind the extremely ancient furnishings and decor, but the smell is absolutely vile! It’s 5am and I can’t sleep bc sick to my stomach: the ghost of every cigarette ever smoked haunts this room. Cannot even sleep with windows open because there are no flyscreens!

Everyone looked happy

Dined in a group of about twenty ladies. Never changing menu. Orders taken at table and meals arrived promptly. I recommend baked prosciutto wrapped cheese with quince paste, and bananas in filo pastry with caramel sauce, cream and ice cream. Such a shame...... Parking on site or lack of, due to long term parking (not hotel patrons).

Good pup with excellent and friendly staff...we enjoyed a couple of beers and a mulled cider, of all things...:)

Wonderful part of the world enjoyed a few in great atmosphere. Have a crack and give it a go.
