Love Big W for convenience to grab some last minute things, some cheapish clothing, a good book to read, snacks or some tech gadgets, they have it all. Easy to find and accessible to all.

Had the window curtain rods I was after & sun block curtains too. Been looking months,staff were helpful.

It has a variety of items

Up till recently shopping a Big W Melton was very enjoyable, however, the store has introduced gates to the entry. This means if you plan to only visit and browse you have to exit through the checkouts. This can prove very awkward, especially if there’s a long queue and you just want to make your way out. Not sure why the store is introduced these because no other department store has them only supermarkets. Additionally, Big W has reviewed its policies and no longer price matches, which means shopping on a budget and you want it cheaper from Big W, it’s tough luck. This would seem like a poor business decision by Big W. In this economy you would want to get as many sales as possible, even if that means price matching. This in turn could detour customers from making purchases and see them making purchases from competitors and online.

Need better customer service

To the Rude Elder Lady on checkout Thanks for being so rude in front of my daughters. We were respectful to you because of your age but you did not consider anything .

Lots of clearance items in store

The worst customer service I receive today. Because I was speaking quietly and she couldn’t hear me she raised her voice so all could hear and made out she cannot help me if I don’t say anything. I told her I did and I’m feeling nauseas so that’s why I spoke quietly- she flapped her arms and stated well I’m just trying to help you. I said please calm it down love and it’s ok I’m just feeling unwell so please be respectful of this. She continued to be loud and repeat what she said. There was clearly something very wrong with her. And I felt so embarrassed in how she treated me. I don’t think I will go back in a hurry.

Better place to get proper stationeries for the school, tie dye kits, presentation papers.

We all know Christmas in retail is hectic but the average service and surly attitude at your service counter doesn’t make the experience any easier. I apologised for my poor judgement in driving a long way to try and collect an order before it was ready, since the item was sold out everywhere else. I had to try and plead for ‘some’ help to find the item, and told “unfortunately” there was nothing that could be done, and that they had “no idea” Whether it was even available. The rep then seemed to have changed their mind a couple of times, deciding to then check stock levels, also then checking whether my order was “in the system yet” - none of this made sense in the interaction and they began to appear sarcastic and pissed off. Anyone who’s worked in retail before would provide available options first instead of trying to come across as useless in order to psyche the customer out so that they leave. Seems like if it’s not on the shelf in front of them, helpful service is too far a stretch.

Very rude staff in the toy section. Obviously they get treated bad from the locals so when an out of Towner wants to look if there any certain toys, you’ll be glared at and spoken down with disrespect. This has happened multiple times on more than one visit. While shopping at this big w, an add plays over the intercom, “treat our staff with respect, or you’ll be removed from the shop”, yet the customer isn’t treated with the same respect. Some staff need to learn, without customers, you WONT HAVE A JOB! I didn’t catch her name, but the short girl in the toy section with the long hair needs to be spoken to by the manager on how to treat customers.

The prices are always good.

Good range of goods however the way they have limited the exit to only through the checkouts is a backward step I feel.

Standing and waiting at checkout to make a lay-by payment and there’s three staff available but too busy chatting to notice or even acknowledge.

Tryed today to return a Christmas present that I bought two weeks ago as I found out this person has it Had never been opened and had the receipt on my phone through the rewards an E receipt However when I said I wanted my money back they were where saying it has already been returned like saying that I already returned it ? Like how it’s right in front of them that I bought in unopened than they came up with some excuse that it’s not working because it’s through the rewards E receipt not the actual receipt so there whole save the environment by going opt out of receipt I’m sure people wouldn’t do opt out of receipt and get a digital copy if they new they wouldn’t be able to change there mind on things I wouldn’t make a big deal if it was like 5 or even 10 but it’s for $89 There whole system is a joke Especially when I followed the policy’s with returning things Not happy at all with there service

I personally liked this particular BigW over others. They got very good mens collection, which I don't find otherwise. Always look to visit . Good job guys, keep it up.

This store is always under stocked for baby/toddler clothes. And the makeup section is a mess.

When my son asked Frank (the assistant) where the hover boards are and he just said NO! But when I asked Frank he told me where they are. So so sooo rude to kids. The worst big w experience I have ever had!

Good shop with helpful staff

I walked in today and at checking out I noticed that the company has taken a proactive approach to combat knife crime in Melbourne by keeping the knives behind counters less accessible big W should be commended on their proactive approach good job

Excellent staff service always polite and helpful.

The under cover security are just pests. I don't steal but they always there. They need to learn how to not stalk people so obviously. Sometimes I hide and seek with them it's so fun they lose you and run around like crazy trying to find you. They I appear and hide again.

BIG W YOU NEED TO REEL IN YOUR SO CALLED SECURITY STAFF AS THEY ARE OUT OF LINE ONCE AGAIN. WHY ARE THEY ASKING TO LOOKING IN CUSTOMERS BAGS ON THE WAY IN TO YOUR STORE AND INTIMIDATING FEMALE CUSTOMERS.

Everytime, I ring the number to check stock, or have a question to ask, it's either close or can't tell me stock in store and other things I want to know and call my local store to find out. I am sick of talking to a machine and all I want to do is talk to a real person not a machine , It says go on the website to check stock at my local store so I do that and it says they have stock so then I go into store and of course no suprise they stock that said on the website that is there in store isn't and actually have someone on weekends to answer phones as well it is really putting me off buying anything from big W anymore because of multiple issues I have had with this and other stuff !!!!
