Wonderful pub and atmosphere, feels very much like a Scottish Lodge. Definitely going back for the Steak and Guiness Pie!

Made a booking for 6/12/2024 at 7pm, which was confirmed by email reply from the restaurant. Arrived on time and the place was empty, no staff, no lights, nothing. Called the phone number multiple times with no response. Waited for 15min and with no response had to leave. Very disappointing occurrence for my family and demonstration of complete incompetence, disrespect and unprofessionalism by the company. For a “service” business, leaving customers in the dark with outright false communication is unacceptable. I wish I could make comment on the food or atmosphere but the service was so poorer I literally could not get a seat as the building was empty and as lifeless as a crypt.

I had a secret seafood platter and really enjoyed the dish. Reasonably priced and good quality. (Not just fried or crumbed from a packet)

Place is hectic xcxcx 10/10

We were a bit unsure about going in. Looked a bit untidy from outside. Nothing has changed for years. Risotto was yummy. Calamari good. Felt very cozy once we had settled in.

Food was lovely, staff were fantastic & the prices were very reasonable. An awesome country feel pub that I will definitely be returning to.

Amazing little place, great food, nice staff, lovely owner, good tunes. I recommend the steak and guinness pie.

Lovely food with good service.

First time here will be back very soon

Called them and asked if the kitchen was open and had a ride experience wouldn’t take it away from the food

Amazing atmosphere, great place for dinners, highly recommend the garlic cobb loaf to start your meal.

Love this place. Food is rustic, but in a good way! Service from Taliah (hope I spelt that right), was warm, friendly and attentive! Will definitely be back

It would be nice if you catered more for coeliacs.

Most enjoyable, relaxing atmosphere with very friendly staff. Meal delicious and great value. We’ll be back

Very friendly warm atmosphere. Lovely staff Had a set menu on a Wednesday night, meal was delicious and huge, 3 courses for $30 Will def come back

We visited the restaurant on a Sunday eve. We went to lazy Moes on Sat and upon comparing the food Lazy Moes won hands down. Not to say the food was horrible but we found it to be basic and we had hair in one of the dishes which was a disappointment. The greatest disappointment though was the quality of the building and lack of maintanence. It seems the building has termite or water/age damage. This is fairly visible in the toilets. My 5 y.o daughter locked herself in and was unable to open the toilet door with the lock open as the door was jammed. We approached the owners who said they were too busy with orders atm and we waited 5 mins with my daughter screaming frantically in the toilet. Eventually we booted it open and injured my daughter under her eyes as she was so frantic and loud that we could not get instructions over to her to stand back. We got no help from the owners and were still charged full price even though we had to leave our meals and rush to the hospital. Very disappointed and will not return again. More care should be given and the least that could have been done is to drop what your doing and rush to a 5.y.olds aid. Clearly no Care factor here.

Hands down the best meal we’ve had around the Melton area!! Staff were so friendly and the live music was a lovely touch.

What a beautiful location and actually a gem of a restaurant with outstanding food and service! We were so pleasantly surprised and so impressed with everything here! Firstly, the place itself is gorgeous and has the feeling of an old English Tavern. Secondly, the menu had great variety with amazing value! Lastly, the staff were so friendly and helpful, our dining experience was great. Will be looking forward to coming back very soon

Great meal, was here for the Everly brothers and Buddy Holly tribute night , the food , service and Band were all top class, will be going back for sure, highly recommend.

Despite the lovely service and meal the toilets were grubby which is very off putting.

### Restaurant Review: A Hidden Wonder in Victoria I recently took my girlfriend for our first dinner date, and I was absolutely delighted with the experience. Nestled in the west, this restaurant not only serves fantastic food but also offers a truly unique and relaxed vibe that sets it apart from any other dining spot in Australia. Stepping inside felt like walking into a pub from a J.R.R. Tolkien novel, with the warmth and coziness of an old English/ Irish pub. The décor is wonderfully rustic, wooden beams, and earthy tones that create an inviting and enchanting atmosphere. It's easy to imagine hobbits enjoying a pint and a feast here, yet the robust, hearty ambiance would also make anyone feel at home from a warrior Viking to your fussy grandma. The food was outstanding, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. Whether you're a fan of hearty comfort food or looking for something a bit more adventurous, the menu has something to satisfy every palate. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was impeccable. What truly makes this restaurant stand out, though, is the live music. The talented musicians provided the perfect soundtrack to our evening, enhancing the magical ambiance without overpowering our conversation. It was the ideal blend of entertainment , A true hidden wonder of Victoria. The combination of excellent food, live music, and a one-of-a-kind rustic cozy and personal setting makes it one of the best restaurants in Australia. I highly recommend it for any special occasion or simply for a meal out that feels truly extraordinary.

Everytime we have eaten here, we have always enjoyed our meals, and have always been given great service. Thank you.

Family friendly, affordable, great food very tasty. Such a hidden gem!

Absolutely love this place it has a homey vibe and great entertainment the food and service is always wonderful the staff are friendly excellent place to go

Fantastic friendly staff, beautiful food, great atmosphere, amazing live music, rare to find a little hidden treasure like this.

I highly recommend 👌

Well what can I say if you are looking for a lovely place to eat this is one place you need to go to have meals they are great sizes and very tasty and soft meat melts in your mouth I have been coming here for a while and it has never let me down a big thanks to Jimmy Yvette and Mark the fantastic chef

We came here to eat tonight. I have been here 5 times now and enjoyed every visit. Tonight was so good the service was so good the lady was so nice and very polite manners. My friends amd i have already booked again for next month. The meals were sooo good and worth the money. Highly recommended.

I came out for dinner here on a Wednesday night. Had a choice of an entree, main and dessert for $30. Value for money 💰💰 Service was great and a few parts of the restaurant, reflecting the character of this place.. I had calamari 🐙 for entree, lamb shanks (2)🐑 for a main and berrie cheesecake for dessert 🎂 All in all, everything was great

Travelled to this place after a good recommendation only to be disappointed. The place needs a good clean. Lots of cobwebs bathrooms where disgusting. I had probably the worst Parma for a long time. Such a small portion I even asked the waiter how the parmas where he said they are really good. LIES was so floppy like it was out of a microwave hand ful of fluoro yellow chips and a salad that could turn a rabbit off. Won't return

Interesting left of centre old school venue, food was nice, service was excellent, lovely family feel from the team.

Went to a birthday party for lunch. The food and service were good. I just didn't feel the vibe, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I liked it but couldn't relax. Maybe because of the chair 🤦‍♂️😁.

Place is filthy needs a good clean,, we had fish n salad,, 2 bits of fish n salad dressing was just brown vinegar,, such a little goldmine wasted on laziness 👎

Lovely food and staff. Very quiet so anyone reading this please head out there and help them build up the business again. Must mention Cobb loaf, 👌

Ordered the chicken & mushroom risotto & it was like eating a bowl of salt. It was horrible. The prawn risotto was the same with also too much sodium & too much tang (tomatoes in the sauce). They were both inedible. We won’t be going back there. If I could give zero stars for the food I would. The service was the only good thing

Been here a couple times for Christmas lunch, lovely little spot.

Sadly our experience was shocking as you walk in you want to see a nice clean place where you'll be eating however it was quite the opposite the baby chair we were provided with was disgusting and not clean at all we went to swap it over with the other 2 on the side and they were just as bad, we wasted half of our baby wipes trying to clean the chair. If the front of the house is this bad that guest can see imagine how the kitchen is where the guest can't see. Service was extremely poor we had to constantly ask a waiter to do her job almost like she didn't want to be there at all. Wrong things were ordered for the table and a constant reminder for our drinks. The food was barely edible asked for a medium steak but was given an overdone dry steak and found it pointless to tell the waitress the issue. The cook should be ashamed, remember the key word COOK because any chef can have a steak to what it needs to be but an amateur cook can struggle. Sad to see this place go downhill this bad we used to come here 10 years ago and it was great but now it's a place to go if you want to see what depression looks like.

We live locally and have always wanted try this venue for many years…so we finally booked it and it was the best decision, as it far exceeded our expectations as we ended up not just having a great dinner but such a wonderful night! The staff were very friendly and professional, the ambience warm and inviting. I ordered the filet mignon and it was hands down one of the best steaks I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked, medium rare, with a tasty gravy, and they even had hot English mustard, on request. My husband loved his fish & chips and the vegetables/salad were just as tasty. The food portions were very generous too. The desert menu looked great but we were too full so opted to take our dessert home, and just finished the night with a cup of tea. But we were in no rush to leave at all and we wanted to stay and enjoy their absolutely delightful and very talented singer, Carol, who made the evening so special with her wonderful voice and song choices…she added so much to the evening… wonderfully old school as if we were in a piano bar. We will definitely be back from here on!!

We had a great night here , fantastic food and live music - highly recommend .

Once again. Had a great meal, steak cooked to perfection. Large portions and great Guinness. Waitress and bar staff were excellent.. as always. If you’re looking for good, honest and local dining. Look no further..

Ambient atmosphere, beautiful food, friendly staff. As soon as you step in the place, you are instantly transported to the old world of european pub.

Honestly, $30 3 course deal on a Wednesday night, you can't go wrong. Don't go in expecting class and quality, but it's got a charming vibe to it, the staff are friendly, and the food was more than enjoyable. Couldn't recommend enough

We had a Great meal with friendly staff for a family birthday get together .Good variety of meals to choose from and plenty of free parking

Dissapointing. Travelled 45 minutes with excitement of an old fashion English style pub and left disappointed. The only saving grace was the cob loaf and steak. We arrived at 5.30pm and was 1 of 3 tables. No table water offered. Ordered cob loaf which was great. Big portion for the price. But. 10 minutes in and only a quarter of the way through it, mains had arrived. No asking if we are ready for mains, or if everything was ok. So we felt very rushed. Steak for my partner and Guinness pie for me. Steak was good Pie, not so much, lumpy mash and watery veg. But, the second I put my fork down, the waitress collected our plates as if we are being rushed out of there. Again, no one came to ask if the food was okay. No offer of desert menu, limited selection of drinks (no guest ales?) In and out in 50 minutes and $100 down. It was not worth getting dressed up for a Date night and taking a trip out, we don't get many chances to go out and this was a waste of time.

I had the Guinness pie, which was nice. Mash potatoes were lumpy and vegetables were dry. The hosts had little personality with their presence rarely felt. Some attendants behind the bar were the opposite of warm. Somehow I was under the impression that they would be. We were told of a fireplace, although it could not be seen where we were placed. To add insult to injury, the remnants of the cake I supplied for Mums birthday disappeared. The staff could not tell me what happened to it.

Showing its age both inside and out, but it was a great meal and staff were friendly and relaxed. Not too busy when I was there on a Thursday for steak night. Update: $30 Wednesday night three course meals are definitely worth it.

The Morton Bay bug was $12.00 for 2 small pieces. The waiter explained it was as large as my hand. I got ripped off, I feel. Steak Porterhouse wasn't bad. Over cooked for medium. Plates were full of chips. Wine list was good. Not over priced. Liked the Schild Merlot. Nice drop. Over 5/10

I love the food here. The lamb shanks were delicious . Great tasting all at a good price. The service is great and I love the guitar player on Saturday nights.

Burnt Parma flat chewy absolutely terrible do not recommend.

Very English Inn style decor

This is a gorgeous country style pub with a cozy atmosphere. The wood-fire made this the perfect choice on a cold winter night. I had the pie and it was excellent.

First time going there and very impressed with everything overall.. good food, service and atmosphere. My family attended, about 17 of us with kids and we all enjoyed it. Recommended for sure.

Amazing service! Great people! Good for any occasion especially family's that want to dine in. Would recommend this restaurant HIGHLY!

Average at best

Had a great night with good food and music was good too.

Great meals, service good, great atmosphere. Had an awesome 2 piece band playing in the background 👌

Cosy atmosphere, great food and fantastic service.

No complaints here, food was lovely and large servings, staff were very pleasant and informative,we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will return

Best mushroom and chicken risotto ever! Cool cosy vibe! Fast friendly service. Fun music 🎶

Love this place .great atmosphere great people great food and drinks... plenty of parking..great coffee and hot chocolate.craft market once a month...

Food tasted good. Place needs a bit of a clean and update.

Nice little place, food was lovely. If anything I would recommend them replacing most of the dining chairs as they have lost cushioning and quite uncomfortable, also a stream clean of the booth seating. Otherwise quite good.

Great atmosphere, good food. Music can be a bit loud as one can not hear conversation. Overall, it was a great place.

The best restaurant in the Western suburbs..5 star

When I walk into a restaurant I like to look around at the staff and see how they present themselves, how they interact with patrons, how they walk away and if they have enthusiasm…..I watched as food came out, how it was given and what was the reactions of patrons….to be honest, after watching, being shown to our table and our orders taken and the food in general…I’d say…ye, nah, maybe, really? I’ll give it a fair go though, it’s nostalgic in a weird sort of way, if your into a warm atmosphere, surrounded by taxidermy then this is the place for you….,I mean its cozy, ( as in warm temperature ) and the staff are just doing their job…… I ordered the cob loaf, chicken Kiev and my family ordered steak and other things….they felt it was somewhat ordinary and the chicken Kiev wasn't a chicken Kiev, it was chicken crumbed in a ball cooked in butter, it had no flavour really, Id say the best part was the chips, this might seem harsh, trust me Ive had worse….I was told the steak was ok……for the price, ah, maybe….if its something different your after then Id say yes, go for it, but visiting several years ago I would say its gone down hill a bit……
