First visit with friends and we were so impressed. Lovely staff and the food was exceptional. We had the steak and parma and they were the best meals we have had out in a long time. So many pubs around south melb and port melb are hit and miss but this place did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Have been a regular at this pub for over 10 years despite it changing ownership many times. The steaks seems to be getting worse and worse! It was pretty average on my last visit a month or so ago. Decided to give it a go again last night. Ordered it medium...it came out with plenty of chips and salad. The porterhouse was bland, did not look fresh...there was no redness to the meat at all. It was pale white. I could not even eat it. Mainly ate the chips. Tried to find the manager but he was too busy serving. Was very dissapointed. Hope management sees this and addresses this.

The food was good, and the overall vibe was great perfect for a relaxed evening out. The margaritas were tasty, though it would have been nice if they were filled to the brim. Still, the flavor didn’t disappoint! The staff were warm and friendly.

If I could do minus 10 stars I would. Ordered an uber eats order last night to try the new Easeys burgers and they arrived with MOULD on them. Beyond disgusting.

Down to earth family friendly pub with consistently great burgers & wings

A great place to visit on a Sunday where there’s a $20 roast special, free pool all day and open mic at night. There was live music the night we went. The lamb roast was juicy, with the right amount of meat and fat.

We had a roast lamb today the meat was very tuff the vegetables were like bricks very underdone .not going back for a roast there.but the staff very friendly.

Just had drinks but it has good local pub vibes. Not only for having knockoffs in your high vis but also not too fancy either

Was really surprised at how thin/meagre the beef patty was. Seems to have changed the way they do their burgers and not in a good way. Was so surprised I did contemplate taking a photo. So extremely overpriced for what I received...maybe it was just my order on that day...I hope so.

The music there is pretty good but the food is terrible, simply don't eat there, As someone else posted a terrible Parma, chips were dry. The worst Parma I've ever had, could only eat half of the meal because I was hungry and left the rest. Told the bar staff how bad it was and would never dine there again. They were understanding and gave me a free drink. I would have preferred my money back though, terrible food. How does their chef keep their job ???😞👎👎

Amazing chicken parma!

Had the Thursday special, $22 parma. The helpings were generous and the staff very helpful

Super busy night and I understand the difficulty on a busy night but the bartender obviously threw out our order. Long haired guy. But the Manager Jacob. He’s a legend. Prince Alfred is the place to be. As long as Jacob is working, life is good. Avoid the long haired guy as much as you can.

By far the best burger I have ever had. Fantastic taste and fresh. Chips were great too. Staff are friendly and the place has a welcoming atmosphere.

The food is so gooood! My friends and I do weekly trivia and it’s so much fun. Definitely recommend if you want to do trivia or if you want to get some good food

Great staff & venue

The Best Bar Staff I have had pleasure being served by, more so by Katie the Bar supervisor. The staff are friendly, helpful, more than Customer Setvice, it is more personal between staff and Customer. They are trying new things, with live Jazz and Soul bands. Wheel chair Accessibility is great and the Management of Jacob and Sturt are more than happy to assist and please their customers with a smile and chatting. A place where you get to know anybody and everybody.

We stopped by the Prince Alfred Hotel for a quick dinner on the way home from the beach. The bartender was just so lovely, friendly and welcoming. The place was clean with soft music playing which made for a relaxing atmosphere and we could actually hear each other speak. We had the kids burger served with the crispiest perfect fried chips and the spaghetti bolognese which was a really large serve and very tasty. For dessert we had the Churros which were warm, fluffy and perfectly cooked. Overall the service provided was impeccable and we would highly recommend and visit again next time we are at the beach. It is understandable why the place has won awards in the past and is still a lovely place today.

Went here for a few pints during the Super Bowl. Nick and Jack gave me impeccable service telling me about your specials and delicious cocktails. I had a godfather parm, which I will 100% be coming back for. 10/10 must visit

We visited this pub a few times in November and December 2023 and were happy we found a new place for a good feed. After tonight’s experience we won’t be back. Firstly, the staff member couldn’t change the Parma to be a schnitzel “naked Parma” and I got charged extra for gravy. Secondly, at least 2 of the staff have long hair and were playing with it, then serving food. And they seemed to be unhappy with each other. When the meal arrived it was a standard Parma with gravy on the side, so I had to scrape off the tomato ham and cheese, revealing a totally different and THIN schnitzel compared to the meals in 2023. Most expensive ($32) and rubbish Parma I’ve had in years. I have attached photos of tonight’s meal and one from November 2023.

Good Place for Trivia and a feed.

The waitress walked past us about 5 times before we finally gave up on trying to get noticed. Asked her if we could sit in a specific spot and she said yes and someone took the spot befor we could get there. It was another 10 minutes of sitting befor we gave up and went to the bar and ordered. The food was average was not fresh chicken. The only thing on the menu that claims to be local is the pasta . There was no music and no vibe . They served us food where there was clearly people smoking. Unclear what the rules are

No good afternoon owner change

Great location, very trendy and really awesome vibe

Used to be ok for cocktails. Walked in today for happy hour and got told they threw their cocktail menu out and won’t honour happy hour even though there are posters all over the wall advertising it. Used to be known for craft beer. That’s all gone. Guy behind the bar was exceptionally rude. Won’t be spending another cent here, plenty of other great and welcoming places in Port to go.

Visited for lunch and enjoyed the experience so much that we returned for dinner. Impressed by the diverse selection of beers on tap, excellent service, and outstanding food. The Scotch fillet exceeded expectations, surpassing others I've tried. The fried chicken burger was also a delightful choice, complemented by top-notch chips. Overall, a satisfying culinary experience worth revisiting.

Food was disappointing. Went with three friends and none of us rated it. Service was okay.

Food is phenomenal, highly recommend the peri peri parma. Staff are very personable and always happy to assist

Heard the pub changed hands recently and it’s got to be one of the best in town. For starters - if you are ordering food, you won’t need to eat for a week afterwards. There’s an extensive list of Parmas to choose from and you won’t be disappointed. We ordered the Godfather, the Mexican and Veggie - all three were epic and absolutely enormous! Massive serving of chips on the side. The Chicken Burger - this thing was mighty. Two chicken breasts, melted cheese and jalapeños, delicious! Also ordered a helping of Onion Rings, these things were huge and could have easily consumed another portion! So so good. Do yourself a favour and pop in for a meal and drink!

Long time PA’s fan here. Me and my husband came in last night to see the new vibe of the community loved pub. We were shocked to be told that it’s now bar service. There was barely ANY craft beer left, we drove from bentleigh to come try the new craft beers on tap as usual to be greeted with Great Northern and Balter? Who thought turning PA’s into a mainstream pub would bring more people in. It’s ruining a great community that; Tom, Anna & Brooke have been building for years. Ontop of that, we ordered the Duke 2.1, the burger patty was as THIN as the lettuce! fell apart and not in a good way. The staff were lovely as always and even asked us our truthfully honest opinions of the burgers as even they have seen how cheap the pattie’s are. Disappointed with the new ownership. Will no longer be coming to this now broken, mainstream “pub”.

Big thanks to these guys who gave my husband and daughters directions. And some much needed shade from the Sun and advice on dog patting etiquette.

It is actually very friendly and relaxed, which for Port Melbourne is rare, but very welcome. All sorts gather here which makes it a great local watering hole.

Came into PA’s for the first time in agesssss, and as per usual the staff, service and the friendly environment they provide you with smashed my expectations! Wonderful, calm pub music. staff were AMAZING, we could tell that they were a bit understaffed tonight. however the younger man serving us did a great job meeting our expectations, giving us perfect customer service while jumping in and out of the bar, seating tables and handling the rest of the tables. the food was brilliant, the parma is to DIE for, aside from it being a little thick, my partner and I ate as much as we could! 10/10 recommendation!

Poor customer service by the manager in charge on the weekend. Upon arrival, we wanted to redeem craft beer passport; 2 pints or pots for 1. Surprisingly, he said only can give us pots with no further questioning. Mate have a better attitude" this place is beautiful and pour awesome beers."

I had dinner and drinks here with friends out the front on a nice warm evening. The food was terrific (I had a chicken burger) and the staff were friendly. It would be nice if they addressed people smoking in this food service area though. That spoilt it a bit.
