Highly recommended! I went in to find out if it was possible to upgrade my old PC, which after 12 years of faithful service was brought undone by Creative Cloud refusing to install the latest version of Photoshop. I was hoping a new GPU would be enough, but alas, when the new GPU was fitted, Creative Cloud still said no. CPU also no longer met Photoshop system requirements. It was by now apparent that an upgrade wasn't gonna cut it, and I decided to get them to build me a new system. I knew the GPU and CPU that I wanted, and George patiently worked through picking all the parts needed to go with those. My new PC is now up and running, and I am completely delighted with it. Throughout this entire process, George and the tech staff went above and beyond, patiently and painstakingly trying to work out an upgrade, and when that couldn't be done, building a machine that well and truly met my requirements. Fantastic service!

Chris at Standard was absolutely amazing! Not only did he help with troubleshooting how to get data off old data tapes, he suggested several ways to do so and the risks associated with it. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fantastic old fashioned customer service! Highly recommended!

My work laptop was affected by the Crowdstrike issue. Daniel in the service department fixed it up, and the guy at the front desk was very friendly. Everyone seemed knowledgeable and agreeable - would gladly go back.

My old laptop went down after purchasing it 11 years ago, so I bought a new one and Standard Computers were able to transfer all the data and set up to my new laptop very well.

My 10 year old computer died last month. Fearing the worst, i left it with them. George kept me in the loop via phone and while letting me know that my only option was a new computer, advised that their team had been able to retrieve just about everything. So relieved. George then painstakingly went through all my options and answered any questions. Great service.

I have been dealing with these guys since 2007. Roughly I go back every 5 or 6 years for a new computer. It is incredibly rare to find good old fashioned service matched with up to date technology. Thanks to George and Scott for such exceptional service yet again. Hopefully I will see you in another 5 or 6 years.

This business has been going decades because I went there in the nineties so it must be doing something right. They've always been helpful with my pc issues at a fair price with quality work.

Unbelievable service, Scott and his team helped me out with a self built rig. I ran into a few oversights on installing a few components, they replaced my psu and tweeked a few things, now its up and running and I can't thank you guys enough, I'll definatly be back anytime I need advice repairs and assistance. Website states a price for a HDD. Drive there only to be told in the store that “our website isn’t right and they have gone up by about $30”. When quizzed specifically about the website being wrong the response was “yeah...our website is kind of broken”. No, you just can’t manage your inventory. Wouldn’t budge despite it being the advertised price.

I was getting lousy performance from my new FTTP internet connection, so I sought advice from a professional. George was the sales guy (a term that fails to recognise his technical knowledge) at Standard Computers and spent 30 minutes walking me through the technologies and price point options. I ended up with a TP-Link mesh wifi system for $200 which was as easy to install as George indicated it would be (like 20 minutes, and I'm not technically orientated) and achieved a nearly 20-fold increase in the internet speed at my PC. George gave me a money-back guarantee if it didn't achieve acceptable outcomes and had a plan B" ready to go if that happened. I've just got off the phone after giving him a personal thank you for fast and effective service - I could not be happier!"

OK, this is probably not a reasonable review, as I didn't actually purchase anything. Went in looking for a bluetooth receiver, and got excellent advice and intel from one of the managers there which actually saved me money and time. He did himself out of a sale, but got a bit of customer loyalty, which will work out much more valuable in the long run. They are now top of my list for any future computing needs.

Purchasing a computer from a local store with knowledgeable and helpful staff is a much better experience than online purchasing for me.

Bought AOC gaming monitor. Screen is made of paper. Moved screen and screen cracked. Went to touch screen to see damage and cracked again. After first fault advised Standatd Computer of faulty motioning and was simply hand balled. Was told not our problem. They viewed screen to tell me no sign of impact as to assuming I was a liar,. Simply cheap products and no customer service. Pay a bit more and buy better quality. Avoid at all costs.

Went in to pick up a laptop charger, had the exact one I was looking for and the staff were very friendly when helping me locate it.

Had computer issues 30/12/2022. Both George and Keiren gave great advice and ensured that I would get my machine back upgraded same day ( even though it was close to new years), pc is now best it’s ever been. Thanks very much lads excellent service at a fair price too very happy with the outcome

I'm so glad to have found this store. My laptop needed repairing and at every step the staff were friendly, professional and clearly very knowledgeable, all in a lovely low-key, no-fuss way. And the repair job was done for a modest amount of $$$, really good value. This is the place we'll be going to in the future for all our IT needs.

Laptop (surface pro) totally died and does not have a removable battery. Took it into the Altona store on Millers Road and was served by the super helpful and friendly Robert. He tried a number of things and they didn't work so I left it with them. I got a call later the same day to say they found the problem and it was fixed I was elated! They had to take the thing apart (something I could not have done at home) and the only charge was the initial deposit I left. Amazing value for money and customer service would highly recommend and if I need help again they will be my first port of call.

The only store to use for anything related to computers. The staff are experienced and helpful, and the store has a huge variety of different products to choose from. You can even have a desktop computer custom built for your specific needs. There is also a workshop to repair any problems you have encountered.

I had my MacBook fixed at standard. Service from the guys was great. Took it in they diagnosed within a day and it wad fixed by the next day. Apple quoted $900 and they did it for less than half the price.

Been going here for years. I've always received great friendly service. If they don't have an item in stocks, the orders are pretty quick to come in. Ive always left the store more knowledgeable than when I walked through the door. Highly recommend ☆☆☆☆☆

Don’t get any work done or serviced here. I sent them my MacBook Pro to get diagnosed. They sub contracted my job to a specialist outside of their store. I heard nothing for 3 days. I called up to ask how it was all going and they were rude on the phone. I requested I needed my laptop back, they confirmed that they had to get back to me, given they had contracted it to someone outside of their store. I had to call them for a second time as I had no confirmation of when to pick up. The guy that served me was rude and had no info regarding diagnosis regarding my laptop. He couldn’t care less and stated that they were in the middle of diagnosis. It doesn’t take 3 days to diagnose a laptop. Nor does anyone deserve this behaviour by staff. I took it to a specialist right after and they gave me all the answers I needed, to fix it, within half an hour. Standard computers, nothing but money hungry, arrogant and outdated. Never again

I took my laptop in to get fixed and wow it is fabulous the work they did to it. I’m so absolutely happy will take my laptop back whenever it need work highly recommended.

Dude left me for 10 mins to find the 7200 rpm drive I requested. Handed me a 5400 spin (found out when installing) in a 7200 static free bag without cover note. Could have just told me you were out of 720 spins, instead just went for the sale. Weak.

I moved to local area roughly 2 years ago. Wandered down the street and found these guys. They have been nothing but helpful and friendly for my entire experience with them and I would strongly recommend giving these guys a look in.

paid $70 for price to fix laptop. after 3 days without hearing back, said i needed my laptop back to write up invoicing for the week and would come and pick it up.. . Was told repair work had been outsourced to Geelong and laptop now in Geelong............the repair work was undertaken without me being given a quote to repair. As the initial problem seem fixed i did not complain about not recieving a quote for the works. ( another $100. ) however, since i received the laptop back, my laptop is obviously riddled with a virus of some sort i cannot get rid of. not going to pay another $70 to have it looked at in Geelong.

For the greatest service in our area. I needed a new computer and gave them the details of my requirements. They built a computer for my needs and justified everything they put into it. They promised a completion date which was reasonable and completed it prior to the date which in my eyes is impressive. They were extremely knowledgeable and had the patience of Jobe with me. Our son also had a computer built for his architectural studies at Uni and is extremely happy with the performance. I would highly recommend them and will definitely get all future computers from them. Well done Standard.

Have bought 2x high end gaming PC's through Standard in the last 4 years and the service (and prices) have been outstanding. George was a patient, enthusiastic and informative salesman and Scott built a beast of a machine.
