This place has so much potential. A few changes can make it much better though. Good things: the staff I've encountered are friendly. The bowling facilities are well maintained. Drink prices are reasonable. It's also in a great location. Things they can work on: The food quality - it's gone down hill in the past few years - even pub classics like the humble parma or fish and chips are hit and miss. We've stopped eating here as the food can be so poor. The dining area needs a refurbishment. Replacing the carpet, repainting and getting some new decor would make a big difference. Investing in lights that arent always 7 Eleven-level brightness would also add hugely to the atmosphere. Huge potential, especially given the future business that may come your way from the new Bradmills development. Fingers crossed for a brighter future for what could be a real inner-west gem!

We recently held our work Christmas party here, paying $50 per head, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. For that price, we expected much better. Drinks were not included, and the food provided was minimal and underwhelming—sausages, burgers, and some potato salad. For the cost, we could have had a better meal elsewhere, followed by drinks and some bowls. While the venue might work for casual events, I wouldn’t recommend trusting them with catering for a Christmas party or any other special occasion. Save your money and look elsewhere for a more enjoyable and worthwhile experience.

Used to be good. Something must have changed. The food is terrible.

Food has taken a steep nosedive, salad taste like feet.

Been coming here for quite a while and it’s been about 2 months between visits and something has changed in the kitchen. I always order a chicken Parma and tonight’s was low quality in every way. The Parma itself was different to previous (cheaper quality and overcooked) the sauce, ham and cheese were all cheap quality as well. The accompanying salad also suddenly went budget from a more gourmet salad mix with tasty dressing to iceberg lettuce and the equivalent of a whole tomato and flavourless dressing. It is disappointing as it is a reasonable local to come. What is also disappointing is the removal of a kids face painter with activities on a Monday. When there are competing venues in Yarraville that have kids eat free nights with well equipped free play areas and free entertainment the bowls club risks losing even more patronage with the drop in quality of food.

Excellent spot for a beer

Terrible bar staff here, I saw a woman behind the bar shouting at anyone who stood in front of the bar too long. Apparently despite it being quiet She couldn't determine who wanted service if people stood too close to the bar. Very overzealous and I would never recommend anyone frequent this poorly ran establishment.

The worst pizza I’ve eaten in my life! Almost all the other food appears out of a frozen packet and heated up before serving and almost all of it is fried! Drinks are pricey, $13 for a CAN of Canadian club and dry? Stay away! There are so many better venues for pub food in the Yarraville/ Footscray area.

We were served by Callum, he is absolutely brilliant and couldn’t ask for better service! Always had a smile on his face and delivered excellent service to us! Couldn’t recommend him and the bowls club more!

Organised a hens lunch/afternoon there this weekend. The lady (sorry, I forgot your name!) looking after us was fantastic and accomodating, went out of her way since we didn’t get to play bowls because of the rain. Had a great afternoon there. I’ll definitely be back to play bowls when the weather is better! Shoutout to the bartender that made us the strongest (redacted) shots too!

A mic check is usually performed before the artist starts their set to ensure that the audio equipment is functioning correctly. In this case, the singer did perform a mic check before starting unless the song was check 123, which is a standard procedure. The confusion might have arisen from the fact that you vvv misunderstood the purpose of the mic check and thought the singer was already performing. You paid nothing for the singer it was Free. AVOID UNLESS LAST RESORT. Shocked at the high ratings, must have been a much better joint several years ago. WORST food/dining experience I’ve had in years. AVOID unless you’re an old man in his 70s too senile to care. Food: Pork roast was COLD and tasted like it was days old and came out of the fridge. Peppercorn gravy sauce had so much white pepper in it, it was inedible (and I love pepper!). Chicken parma were ok, lamb in lamb salad overcooked and dry, not fresh. Prices they are charging for this slop is criminal. Ambiance: Cheap motel conference room (for the bistro, at least). Budget. Elvis Presley impersonator couldn’t get through a full song and kept doing mic checks. Bathroom was clean (although freezing) and the nicest part of the whole place. Has some armchairs and is quiet.

Ordered a vege burger and received a meat burger. The replacement vege burger was cold including the chips that were clearly not replaced.

After several years of going here (and being a member), tonight will be our last. Went for an evening meal, which was a bad experience from start to finish. We queued up at the bar area, as there was someone being served in front of us. Patiently waiting to be served, someone casually jumps the queue and orders a drink (what we were trying to do). After they leave, I politely ask the lady behind the bar (Maree) why she served the person who jumped the queue first - she informed me that priority was given to the queue jumper as they were playing bowls! I explained that we were waiting to order a meal and queried why one member would have priority over another but we were given no apology at all, she simply justified the action of the other member without hesitation. Zero care given and very rude. After that interaction, we entered the dining area and went to order our meal. 10 minutes later, the food arrived, one meal correct and the other meal incorrect. The guy brought both meals to the table, and when he was informed that one meal was incorrect, he looked at us as if it was our fault. I asked him to take the food away and requested the food that we ordered. He left the table, rolled his eyes and went to speak to the person that had taken our order. After a brief exchange, they went to the kitchen. A further 10 minutes later, the second meal arrived, which was what we ordered. We ordered chicken schnitzel’s (Wednesday specials). I’m not sure what has changed over the last few months (chef?) but the food has gone down hill. It used to be much better. What should have been a nice night out was ruined by rude and seemingly inexperienced staff who frankly have next no customer service experience. Always love to support a local business but it will be our last visit here.

Lovely atmosphere, food was delicious 😋 & well presented at a very reasonable price. My friends & I had a very pleasant Saturday afternoon spent there.

We had a catch up with friends that we grew up together over the last 70 years,much better catching up here than at funerals,that is why we come to the Yarraville bowling club,this is about the 5 to 7 years we have been getting together.

Good pub style menu, runs a good trivia night on Tuesdays. The regular menu outside of the specials is on the pricier side but I suppose that's unavoidable these days, still good staff and a good kitchen!

Great meals and good atmosphere. Probably the best parmigiana in Yarraville, cooked fresh, great ingredients and cooked to perfection. Loved the vibes and witnessing chef Anuz in action and then being able to enjoy the risotto of his creation. Overall, a beautiful dining experience with top notch service by staff, will definitely come again. Highly recommend.

Great place, lovely view but the food not up to standard. ... lady was very helpful and gave us 2 vouchers. My above review was 5 years ago and l can now say my wife and l love this place, especially in summer when you can sit on the front deck with a wine, good food and watch the sun set. And the staff are super helpful and friendly.

We had a family reunion here a few weeks ago with about 60 people attending & I found the venue perfect! The staff were brilliant in particular Kathy/Cathy who looked after us on the day. The meals were great & everything ran smooth. Really pleased with the day, we'll definitely be back for our next reunion in January.

We have been coming for a couple of years now, love the menu, variety, staff and food. We came Wed night. I ordered a half mexicana Parma. It was terrible, what Parma has no cheese! I got a dried piece of chicken with a teaspoon of sour cream and even less guacamole, then 3 jalapenos. I know I only paid $17 but come on, up your game, and your new menu very limited, such a shame after so many lovely meals. Another o nbe bites the dust😓

Often go here with the family. Prices are reasonable, food is good, atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. After a busy week we often go for lunch or dinner on the weekend.

Great club feel, with good food, TAB and pokies which aren’t for me but they have them. Comfortable deck to sit on and watch the rinks in action. Only thing would be drinks are very expensive, like way more then other bowls clubs I go to.
