Excellent service and meals.

The meals are very very good and a large serving. Serve was brilliant. There was 22 of us and all meals were served fast. We highly recommend having a meal here. Thankyou for a wonderful meal and service. Will be back after our travels.

I recently organised my partner 30th in the beer garden and the communication between Amy the functions manager were great! As this was my first proper event I had to organise Amy was so helpful the whole way through! On the night Kelly was managing and helping with the event too! I felt at ease with everything and Kelly was so nice and accommodating! I highly recommend booking your next event here! We booked the beer garden which I think was the most expensive but it was all worth it, my guest loved it and said it was a beautiful venue.

This is a renovated modern pub, designed for both meals and beverages, plus functions. I ate the American Burger, which both tasty and filling. The Mrs had the Calamari, which she gave 5 stars. The beer list is restricted to Carlton products. However, tank Carlton Draught is on tap, so there is an option for a semi decent beer! Would we go back? Yes.

Nice food and music

Not a bad pub and the food is not bad at all, good options even for the vegetarian in the team. Good place for groups, comfy beer garden, a play pit for the little monsters. All round good family place.

Disappointing … Used to be one of our favourite locals but after 5 years living interstate came back only to be very disappointed. The food was average at best. My husbands steak was tough and I ate the chef special salmon and it was definitely not a fresh piece but a frozen piece of salmon, overcooked and tasteless, beans were cooked so much they were limp and lifeless Won’t be coming back any time soon.

My family and grandchildren had the best Christmas lunch x 11 ppl. Food was so tasty and so much food, that we took home Table staff guys were funny and awesome Best experience for Christmas Day

My family had Christmas lunch here a week after my work held its Christmas party in the beer garden and both events had amazing staff, a great atmosphere and the food was delicious! I’m vegetarian and the eggplant parma is my go-to. I’ve been eating at Spotty for many years and never had a bad meal (or been with anyone who has) but if there’s something i want changed about a dish, the kitchen is always receptive to helping us out! Thanks for having us and helping us celebrate our end of year functions!

Food was bland even though it was a set menu so they absolutely could have maintained taste. The waiter lied to me about the air con being broken and then was able to turn it on when it became too hot. Toilets were falling apart and general hygiene didn't seem up to scratch. Overall, this place needs some work. Oh, i and I don't care if everyone else is doing a holiday surcharge, it's a terrible idea and they are terrible for practicing it.

Excellent as expected consistent quality of food and service.

Very average meal that costs way too much. My risotto was not cooked and sent it back. It also looked like pumpkin soup with rice. I was then kindly offered another meal which was tasteless. You could cook far better at home!

Lovely experience! Attended a work function, staff were accommodating, super friendly and great conversationalist! Food was absolutely beautiful, hats off to the kitchen staff!!

Went to meet friends for a Sunday session. Great live music. Steaks were phenomenal. Arancini balls were fab. Calamari was melt in your mouth. Seafood linguine was a little underwhelming but seafood was cooked perfectly. Will be back.

The food was OK. Nothing brilliant nothing bad. Overpriced for reheated I&J calamari. Bar service is where they rip you off. Non local dropping in for a drink? No problems let's charge you full whack and ignore the happy hour pricing. When challenged it was reversed. Venue is very noisy and echos.

Don't eat the Paella. Have something simple like fish and chips or a burger.

My daughter celebrated her 21st Birthday at the hotel in the beer garden on Saturday. I can’t thank Amy and James enough. They went above and beyond to make our night a memorable one. The food was excellent, our waitress was so friendly. I highly recommend this place and their wonderful staff especially for your next function. Sandra.

Shabby service , plenty of staff walking and talking to each other yet none seemed to want to show any initiative and serve anyone , sadly was a good pub not that long ago. Mussels were good though

Great kids eat free options on Sunday, but I couldn't link this with the summer special menu which wasn't explained until paying. Very tasty food, good portions.

A very nice pub to dine at. Food quality was quite good, and the lunch special (parma and coke for $23 [as at Oct 2024]) is excellent value. Staff were very friendly. Restrooms were clean. Tables and chairs were also clean.

This place is so, so good. Kids eat for free on Sunday nights, it's a friendly atmosphere and the staff absolute make the difference. Nothing is too much effort, every staff member goes above and beyond. Even crayons and paper for the kids. I really rate it and would recommend. Great neighbourhood pub. Love entertainment early on as well!

The food was decent, we came in a large group and everyone was happy with their meal. Service was a little slow, but it was great we were able to pay separately.

Ok, this is the third and last time we came here. I only came here, again, as it is convenient to bring my elderly mother. But, not 1 meal passes as acceptable. Last time I ordered the gnocci ragu as on the Previouse occasion it tasted ok. This time, it was terrible, all tomato paste flavour and pieces of dehydrated meat. The soft calamari was ruined with way too much salt, and eggplant parmigiana was all burnt cheese and sweet sauce and salty cheep ham. Tonight, my wife ordered the Entree calamari with no salt. She actually enjoyed the 4 pieces... what a rip off. In fact all the entrees are a rip off except maybe the mussel steam pot to share. This time I thought I'd try the southern fried chicken burger, it's smaller then a big mac, dry and had no southern flavour , the menu made it sound like it was served with slaw and chips, no! the slaw was in the burger yuk. My daughter had the chicken scallopini, dry chicken bland sauce , and my son in law had the parma, burnt edges dry and over cooked. My mother had the seafood linguine , pasta was undercooked, there was no seafood flavour on the sauce, very bland and a bit of chilli... just terrible. Learn how to cook. We will not be back.

Best Arranchini balls I've ever had. I ordered the Calamari with salad and chips. It was a huge meal! Delicious 😋

My salad was not served as per the menu. Items missing. Substitutes added. Not the same salad as expected. But the worst part was that the feta cheese in the salad was off. It smelt like Gorgonzola. It was bad and management agreed. Very poor on behalf on kitchen staff. With so many other places to eat at, I won't go back to the Spotswood Hotel.

We recently had our father’s wake in one of the function rooms at the Spotswood Hotel and we cannot speak more highly of the friendly, attentive staff and how delicious the food was. Our room was perfect and Amy couldn’t do enough for us when booking. Renee looked after us on the day beautifully and she was extremely efficient. The whole hotel is so unique and magnificently renovated. We cannot recommend the Spotswood Hotel and staff highly enough.

Attended a 40th tonight and the venue and staff were amazing!! Special shout out to Oliie from Leicester wh was lovely and helpful.

The mussels are a must try

Noisy, but you have to expect that at a pub. It's expensive for a pub too. Food, meh, average, my Paella was not a Paella, it had potential, but all I ended up with was a salty risotto, no caramelisation at all. None of the other meals were great either, all pretty average. They look better than they taste. The best dish was the ragu, but for some reason, it was entree sized!

First time here, but won't be the last, we went on steak night and food was great, service is prompt, will be back again to try the parmas and bugers next.

Ordinary Food - To sum it up - sad Meat lovers pizza - mass produced pizza base with little toppings. Doughy and chewy. Awful. Fish and chips - great crust/ batter - v promising but when you cut into it - unfortunately soft soggy fish that is wet and disintegrates. Service was great, friendly but food was not great at all.

Bad acoustics and very ordinary food. Terrible fish. Would not go back there.

Lovely pub with a fireplace and huge beer garden with large TV showing sports. The barman was lovely and helped us pick the perfect wine. Things went downhill when we decided to head indoors and order some nibbles. We had to get our own water, ask for menus, then no one came to get our order. When our shared entrees came, there were no plates. The prawns were unpealed, which was fair enough, but made for a challenge with no plates, or water bowls and quite off-putting when we discovered they hadn't been de-veined. After all the effort of peeling the prawns were overcooked and rubbery. Great hotel for a drink, steer clear of the food.

We celebrated our little ones 1st birthday at Spotswood Hotel. From the start, the staff were nothing short of amazing! From the communication on how we wanted the event to run, to organising with Amy.. couldn't fault them. The event space and food was beautiful. Would definitely recommend Spotswood Hotel for any event or sit down meal. :)

Had a pleasant Saturday lunch here. Good food, nice drinks list and prompt service. Solid every day menu topped off with a few chef’s specials. The open fire adds to the atmosphere. There is a large indoor area and a reasonably large outdoor space as well. They also do nightly specials during the week and have live music on the weekend evenings. Well worth the visit. Probably best to book to be sure of a table.

Went out for date night, ordered two pretty standard pub meals and an entree. Was charged extra to change from roast potatoes and vegies to mash and vegies and was served salad instead. Took it away and returned it with vegies and reheated salmon which was ineatible at that point. Entree was forgotten but they still try to charge us. Was also steak night, my partner ordered a steak, which is meant to have a drink included...no drink. New to the area and had a terrible. If it wasn't for the English bartender that was a great guy. Monday nights are meant to be spent elsewhere.

Probably the worst pub food I’ve had in a while. Parma’s tasted like they were pre made and then warmed up slightly. Both mine and the wife’s were semi cold. Kids had a pizza, comparable taste to your McCains frozen pizza. Zero life in the dough.

Friendly, efficient staff that take your drink order at your table. Very reasonable food prices with special deals on some meals plus a drink for $25! Both meals were generous in servings, cooked perfectly and arrived very quickly! I am so pleased that I tried this hotel and will definitely return. Thanks!
