Went to the bistro food was good you did forget someone's order but was rectified the biggest problem you is the manager who greets you then trays to hurry you up to order telling you what time you close it wasn't busy we had a few people and there was a large birthday party still going we felt so rushed we won't be back have a good look at yourself if that who you have front off house your in trouble it was like we were an inconvenience and he was the manager no greeting never happened before went next door they were so accommodating

Had reserved a machine to get cash out. It took no more than 2 minutes. A person walked straight up to my machine took the reserve sign off and played it winning a feature. Someone need to get in contact with me via email to have this rectified.

Thought I would give lunch another go as the first time was horrible. The second time was just as bad. Not many people in so I thought food would be nice hot and fresh, far from it. I had chicken schnitzel, it stated panco crumbs which were not. The chicken was tough felt like it was cooked earlier and reheated. The vegetables tasted like they were also reheated. I normally don't complain but this time I told the waitress that the chicken was tough and chewy, they replaced the whole meal. Replacement was just as bad as the first although they must have placed the crumbed chicken back into the deep fryer to try and crisp up, with no success apart from it being hotter. The vegetables were covered with some lemon seasoning or juice which was horrible. Waste of money didn't eat much of it. My friend had chicken scolipini and stated that her chicken was dry, but she couldn't be bothered to complain. The third friend had a ceaser salad and the croutons were sugard. Won't be going there again.

Great service great meals couldn't fault them. Would recommend them to anyone.

the bistro was amazing. 10/10 food. great friendly staff. great and competant with allergies. couldnt get more perfect. and take your kids here on monday nights — they eat free.

Food in the bistro is hit and miss. Some nights it's decent others its poor, chips and veggies often too salty. Do enjoy the trivia nights though.

Management needs to get into the 21st century. Unable to use digital drivers licence for identification. Very unfriendly and unhelpful

Excellent place to stay

Well been here in last 2 weeks first just ok my senior's meal was beef very stuff and dried so l tough have second time well just saying l really thing staff just need to go and chef's need look or taste they serving oh if complaint to manger they don't care so that's what service is l don't think so people will come back and jobs will not be there so if new owners need see this for themselves look at posts no stars

Absolutely appalling... waited 1hr 45 mins for very basic meals whilst watching at least 700 709 other people receive there meals, all of whom arrived and ordered well after us.. when staff where questioned we where told you'll get them soon.. waited another 30 mins... staff were very apathetic and uninterested... will never attend this place again

Arrive at 12 pm and none really there. Order at 12.30 pm and took 1.25 hours to come..I did get my money back. I did ask when it was coming and they said it was on its way. 26 meals I counted came out and not mine...never again

Sadly a low review from me. This venue is not pram friendly. I have a 5 month old and had to manipulate and carry the pram down the stairs as there is no ramp to go down. Now we get to the service. Sadly not long after arriving we were told to hurry up and order as the kitchen was going to be busy soon (no one at my table was concerned about waiting as we were just enjoying the company.this is a table of at least 10 people). Upon going to order our food which yes was an easy process I noticed the trays of side salad left open under the heat lamps, this is the salads that were being served to the customers one of which was my wife. By the time it got to the table it was wilted dead and very unappealing. I myself ordered the Roast of the day. Sadly this was no better very over cooked and under seasoned just thrown onto the plate with very little care. The sad thing about my experience today was that the best part of my meal was the side dish I ordered and that was a side of chips. Another concern I have is that there was a steak ordered on the table and when I asked how it was meant to be cooked I was told that it was supposed to be medium rare. I took one look at this steak and knew it was over cooked. Upon seeing the inside it confirmed what I already knew. After the sub par meal the table I was on were happily sitting around and were told to leave because they needed to set up for dinner or something else. While this is perfectly plausible for a restaurant you might want to make sure that the lunch service is fully booked out before you push out a massive table. I certainly won't be returning to this venue. The management here needs to be re trained or replaced as they are the ones who asked us to leave and sit in another part of the venue. After working in hospitality I know first hand that this is not how you treat a paying customer.

Nice meal it is a pity about the staff they were a bit arogant when you haven't been there before and you order coffees and go to take sugar and they give you a snide remark

Had lunch in bistro. Excellent meal hand chicken scallopini was cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely go back 😊

Lunch at the Settlement Bistro was terribly disappointing. As usual the ambiance was fine especially the acoustics. However the meals were extremely disappointing……. Of 6 meals only one was reasonable. Staff tried hard but need to treat customers with dignity especially when there is an error in the order.

Completely unhappy with the place it was unsettling an a disgrace can't believe we wasted the money on the room or place there was toe nail clipping on the floor scattered thru out the was dope mulched up on the bed an floor the lounge smelt of wee an had people hanging around our door talking most of the night up untill early hours of the morning an stuff miss to top it off I would not recommend this place to anyone at all

Went to bistro for the first time since new owners took over. Food very average and certainly not worth price paid. my entree and mains flavourless, hubby's entree was nice but his steak was overcooked and grissly, senior roast for MIL was dry Service not much better

Went here tonight for dinner. ordered half a dozen of killepatricks. My wife said they don’t smell right but they didn’t taste to bad a little fishier than normal but you get that sometimes and I have a strong gut so I just ate it. But now wished I listened not even 4.5 hours later I’m hugging the toilet like it’s my new lover. If you want a sick day from work come here and order the killepatricks. Should have read the reviews before ordering as I’m not the only one complaining about the oysters. Sad cause I enjoyed coming here but now have trust issues. Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. You have been warned if it smells fishy don’t eat it 😂 🤢 🤢

We seldlom give common but we have to this time .The revenue is great but service is ok,the food is very disappointing, the chips is not fresh,we order seafood platter ,it looks good but the oyster taste bit muldy or off,prawn and salom too salty and the fish has no taste , we don't expect the food fantastic but if we pay about $100 with drinks ,I think the food at least normal, the kid has fun but unfortunately I don't think we will go back again if the food hasn't improved, not worth it

Not very disabled friendly. You couldn't get to the bottom floor because of stairs. But you weren't asked if you needed wheelchair access

Absolutely disgusted by the behaviour of the manager Jason today at 5pm. After coming there after a funeral for the wake one of the grandkids was playing with a plant (no we didn't realise people were arriving it was a busy time) Jason came out yelling and screaming like some crazy person. It was the most bizarre thing l have ever seen in a family restaurant. Maybe you could of spoken like a adult and not caused massive scene. Will not be coming back ever.

Great cozy spot for dinner or even lunch. Has a very rustic feel with a fireplace on and open area that goes out to the outdoor dining area. We ate in the bistro area. Service was great and quick to get our food. Ordered the calamari which I think was good but have had better, definitely passable. Had the aranchini balls too which were great! Would definitely go back.

Settlement is supposedly under new ownership. The cafe/bar section has a new menu which is really lacking and prices increased significantly. Woodfire pizza is no more - wouldn’t and will not be going back.

New menu. 30% more exspensive. Stay away from asian pork bites, nice flavour but well over cooked. Couldn't eat all. Jaw still aching 2hrs after eating. Both over cooked and under cooked. Meat hard and over cooked. Skin under cooked not soft but hard (not crackle) And What!!!!!!!!!! no wood fired pizza. Wood fired pizza is the only reason we go every friday night and every other Saturday. Will have to fined another wood fire pizza place for our weekly pizza.

The hotel side is fantastic for the money and very clean. Friendly service. The food/restaurant is quite possibly the worst place I’ve eaten. I’ve given it a few goes as I stay here for work often due to the nice rooms, and sometimes I just can’t be bothered eating elsewhere. Food is terrible; they get everything wrong. I thought I couldn’t go wrong with a steak on steak night this evening; get served up a grey, gristly piece of leather crap, asked for rare and got medium, but somehow, they still managed not to have any grill marks on the outside. Literally, the worst steak I’ve ever paid to eat. Last week, the Parma on Parma night was like they’d pre-cooked them all and then re-heated them in a microwave—not even re-heated properly, lukewarm and revolting. Make sure you book yourself a seat at a restaurant somewhere else if you’re staying.

Previous owners made the best wood fired pizzas. Turned up today to be told there are new owners, and they have canned the wood fired pizzas. The wood fired pizzas brought an ambience to the Cafe section, and when we walked in today we were devastated. Please bring back the wood fired pizzas and we will bring back our business

used to eat in twice a week most often on table 1 before covid because the place was always packed full, tried to eat in after that and have been told off for just turning up and turned away, i don't know why it needs to come with attitude though, cant be bothered anymore and couldn't care less, what a shame

We have stayed at the Settlement for almost 3 weeks. Good food, good people and comfy room. Albeit the aircon is very noisy. Katrina in the Bistro provided us excellent service. No cooked breakfast is a detractor for us and may explore the Sands. We stay for 3 weeks every 4 months.

Tab over priced for the size of serve average salad and frozen prawns not fresh steak little tough in places . Saturday night was busy but efficient

I went in for dinner ordered a pizza waiting almost an hour for my food all while watching people arrive long after me order and get meals before me, the food I got was burnt and flavourless if it was nice food I'd not care so much about the wait I didn't even eat it all it was that bad.

On July 6 2024 we held an after dinner wedding here for 48 people.it was perfect all the meals were fantastic every plate or bowl was empty.the service for such a huge group was amazing.no one waited long to receive their meals..our special thanks to the manageress Colleen who went out of her way to make this happen.we could even dress our own tables which was nice.a big thank you to Zoe and and one of your staff members Katrina! The worst restaurant in Cranbourne taken all the main dishes off the menu and the place is empty

We have been eating at The Settlement Hotel cafe bar for many years and their wood-fired pizzas were the best! Unfortunately, under the new owners, wood-fired pizzas are no longer on the menu! Very disappointed! :-(

I can't give me than 1 star. It had been at least a couple of years since I've eaten there, and I used to love going there. I happened to be in the vicinity on Monday and decided to go back there for dinner. What a big disappointment. The Chicken Scallopini I ordered was as hard and tough as leather. It had no taste as if it's not been marinated. There was more mesh than the chicken as if the mesh was the main dish. My wife had the Pumpkin soup. Mind you they were right when they said the special was Pumpkin soup because that was all she had. Never in my life have I seen anywhere serving soup without as least a slice of bread. There was nothing but soup which wasn't all that great too. Well it might be decades before I go back there.

Today, I met a friend for lunch in the Bistro. Arancini was luke warm, chargrilled vegetable pizza had a handful of capsicum and onion pieces only. It too was luke warm and the side of chips were soggy. Definitely looking for an alternative venue.

Went to the settlement hotel yesterday morning with my wife arrived 10:30 am all we wanted was cheese Ham toasty with a coffee not a main meal. We were told 11am we can order so we had a coffee quick chat went back to the bar to order the toasty only to be told we can't sit at the table and eat it's regarded as a Snack menu and can only be eaten in pokies area why the staff member behind the bar didn't say this at the start

Great location. Reception was rude on two occasions regarding simple requests. Stayed in the spa room, room was beautiful. However, if you want a hot shower, think again. Pressure is pathetic & water temperature is set at a temperature of their doing. Wife had a shower @ 04.30 in the morning & it was still cold then so no excuse about multiple people using it at the same time. Will not stay here again..

Hubby and I came here for dinner last night. New management, New bistro menu......Not impressed at all. This place has really gone down hill. Bistro was very quiet for a friday night (was not busy at all. Maybe only 4 other tables being used). None of meals listed on the new menu took our fancy (very minimal food choice) so we just ordered cheesy garlic bread and a chicken parma each. Meals were very slow coming out which was suprising especially since it wasnt busy. The garlic bread tasted nothing like it use too. Bread was very thin and had not much flavour at all. Chicken parma was barely even warm. Chips were hot but over cooked. Did not even finish the meal. Could have cooked the same meal at home for a fraction of what we paid and it would have tasted better then what they served up. Very disappointing. Use to love coming here but we won't ever be back.

we booked 12 people and a high chair we were squashed on a table for 10 and as we had the menu emailed when making the booking we had our orders ready only to find a completely different menu and a large price rise. The seniors were very dissapointed as we went in Feb and the food and prices were great. We have been going once a week and now its gone up and the quality of food has gone down we wont be going again. We will go to Dandenong RSL for a fabulous feed at great price, its worth the extra petrol. I know they were busy and the staff were doing a good job of keeping up on Mothers day but food and information before we went as well as inflated prices let them down

We love our local but wonder if it’s under new owners or management. Tonight the staff were on hyperdrive, we left our table for 3 minutes to tap pay a toy machine and came back and the table was completely cleared. Our half eaten food, the kids drawings and packs thrown out the kids were so upset (we had been there at this point 20 minutes). The staff were understanding and nice enough to give us new packs, but while we were ordering our icecream they tried to do it again. It was insane, there were 3 families in the entire restaurant and we surely hadn’t overstayed.
