The relaxed ambience of this place is what I love and of course the water view. The food is great and the staff are awesome.

What a great disappointment this place was. With great expectation we thought we would have seafood by the water. We ordered the seafood basket which can be shared by two people.. It was below average for 79 dollars. Nothing tasted fresh ....everything was frozen seafood besides the oysters and the minuscule green salad. The battered fish was not good The calamari was okay The scallops were not fresh and tasted funny Overall it was a big disappointment Sorry Not coming back It would have been better to go to a local fish and chips shop

Our first and last visit! Food was very average and took a long time to arrive. Staff were sour faced and abrupt. Who's idea was it to restrict seniors' meals to before 4pm!? We would have spent more on food, drink and on the pokies if our experience at this venue hadn't left us feeling like we were intruding. Much improvement needed!

All 5 of our meals were delicious; extra shoutout for the linguini pescatore for being amazing and I am already craving it again. Also the onion rings were the best! It was lovely sitting out on the deck, albeit on a very warm evening but that just meant we ordered extra drinks. Serving sizes were great, we would definitely come back soon

Waited almost two hours for our overpriced food to come out cold and the steak we requested blue, came out well done. Definitely not coming back, really disappointing

I see from previous reviews from 2 years ago you still havnt updated your bland and dry linguine pescatore. Disgusting, not worth the 50 min wait while half the table got their meals 30 mins before the other half?? Seeing as you havnt tried to improve in 2 years safe to say i wont be going back.

Sitting here waiting over 45 minutes for my main after the rest of my table has already got their food. THEN waited another 40 minutes for a brownie after we reminded them at the 20 minutes mark. No apologies or anything. Longest wait and it’s not even busy. ALSO had to put our dirty plates in the corner because no one was collecting them. PS. The brownies are not brownies, more like cold, hard fudge!! Not happy and won’t be coming back.

Pretty good. Just always hot when I visit! Big place. Lining up for food is ok as is for drinks, but not optimal as long as you know this prior you won’t be disappointed.

We booked a table for 8. Our main meals arrived at different times, and one meal did not arrive at all. I ordered fish and chips, thinking I could not go wrong with this, but I was wrong. The whiting fillets seemed to be frozen fish in a very thick batter, and the chips were like eating cardboard. The food all around was substandard, in my opinion. The chairs were so uncomfortable, at least at our table. I had a less-than-happy experience 12 months ago, hoping the food had gotten better this time around. I think it has gone further backwards. I will not be returning to The Cove again.

Staff are tired, unmotivated, constantly standing around looking at their phones and in the case of the young dark haired lady who took orders in the Bistro on Thursday 17 October just straight up rude - even gave my wife and I an eye roll. Lovely……other than the nice views there’s nothing to entice. Food is of really poor quality.

Food was decent, chicken became a bit tough near the end but still was tasty. A big special shout out to Jack, who was incredibly lovely and humoured me when I talked about hospitality!

Absolutely amazing place to eat. My partner and I decided to go out for lunch and chose The Cove. We walked in with no booking and the staff were able to get us a table for 2 on the deck despite it being quite busy. The atmosphere was great and we had a nice view of the Patterson Lakes marina. I ordered a Hawaiian parma and my partner ordered a chicken schnitzel. The wait for our food was about 25-30 minutes but it was definitely well worth the wait. The chicken was not dry whatsoever and it was a large portion size, I couldn't finish my food because it was so filling! The staff were friendly and helpful and the decor around the restaurant really helped make this visit 5 stars. The Christmas themed table numbers and napkins as well as the decorations added a lovely festive touch. Will definitely be coming here again, possibly for dinner next time. Thank you!

So very disappointing. We used to love coming here but the last 3 visits it’s just got worse and worse. Staff are very unprofessional and the service is lazy. General experience is very poor. Firstly, you stand waiting awkwardly at the counter for staff to appear and take your order. Entries come after your mains, the mains can all be made much better yourself at home, the steaks are so disappointing, and your left waiting for dessert for 45mins, even after asking it never seems to arrive before your fed up and just leave. The staff are seen standing around the bar laughing at their phones, while your own table and others around you have plates stacked, waiting to be cleared. Nothing worth the cost to eat here. Sadly, the only highlight of The Cove is their beautiful venue set on the water.

This review relates to the same item (Pizza Margherita) ordered on two separate occasions (30/11 and today 18/12). On the first occasion the pizza was completely under cooked and doughy underneath. As it was an extremely busy Saturday night l put it down to overwhelmed kitchen staff. However today, when the meal was ordered, l asked that it be cooked longer so the base was crispy and cooked as last time it hadn't been. Sadly, the pizza arrived and the base once again was completely doughy and undercooked. I asked the wait staff to please return it for further cooking, showing them the soggy base. It returned a few minutes later in not much better condition. I have to guess they either don't have hot enough ovens or lack of time/care factor. Whilst l realise pizza is not fine dining, if you do offer it as a choice, take the time to cook it properly.

Very unaccommodating! Not the first time! This is our second try coming here! Manager Takes 20 mins to see if there’s seat available for us. Made us wait at wine bar with my 1 year old kid. Never again!

11/12/24: worst food I've had here in a long long time. Ordered fish & chips, which were only just Luke warm, fish, well let's just say, what fish? There was so little fish it was mostly batter, even the salad was poor, no dressing or Cucumber. On a positive note, the cocktails were good. Our table of 7, only 2 meals were acceptable

I ordered the Seniors lamb shanks, but it was a lamb shank on some mashed potato and a few peas. For $25, I expected 2 shanks at least. It was a kids sized meal, and for the price comparison, you are better off paying the full price for a normal sized meal. Not worth $25.

Went for my partners birthday, hostess wasn’t welcoming at all couldn’t have shown anymore disinterest in her job. Barman was the only person who was friendly. A table came in 20mins after we arrived and had their meals delivered before ours. Food was terribly bland couldn’t rate any of our five meals. Only good thing is the view. Won’t go back again.

Meals have not improved in all the times I've been there, which is only once a year until I decide to give it another try. Whiting fillets were clearly frozen and tasted dry and floury. Roast lamb was not roast meat, yet each slice pan fried and dry. Great location and ambience, they could do so much better with a chef that cares!

Great meals at reasonable prices just a tad noisy. Otherwise great place to celebrate. Oh and they have celiac options too!

Food was bland and disappointing. I expect more for the money paid. Don't offer upmarket dishes if you do not know how to prepare them. Visited again and the while the food was better I feel that more can be done at that price. Still a lovley venue.

My friend & I had a lovely meal on the deck this weekend. Despite inclement weather, we were warm & cosy. We shared cheese & garlic bread, which was light & yummy. I had the chicken scallopine, which was delicious, then the raspberry & apple crumble, also a hit. The vanilla icecream accompaniment was divine. My friend had the entree barramundi skewers with a side order of roasted baby carrots & rosemary roast potatoes, then the red velvet cake for dessert. All very nice. Ordering & paying via their app accessible by a QR code at the table was easy & our meals arrived in a timely manner. A suggestion: add an area where notes can be added about an order please. Wait staff were friendly but our empty plates weren’t cleared for a long time. We were impressed by the quality of the food & will return next time I visit.

First time at The Cove in over 10 years. The staff were very professional and accommodating. I had the chicken scallopini and my friend had the surf and turf. We both enjoyed the flavour and presentation of the food. The only let down was the temperature of the food. The only hot food received was my friends chips. The rest of the food could only be described as Luke warm at best. We would still return for another meal, but if cold food is a habit we will have to add The Cove to the list of venues not to go back to.

What a shame the food doesn’t meet the same standard of the atmosphere! Third visit to The Cove and will be my last! On my last visit we ordered meals and requested changes, vegetables instead of salad/chips for the overcooked Parma and salad/chips instead of vegetables for the in eatable salmon( which was refunded) It was totally ignored by the kitchen staff and came out as per the menu after a very long wait. Pricey, meal sizes small and lack of customer care!

it used to be really good. a couple years ago we went as a family and didnt stop raving about how good it was for years. then we went back for my birthday and it was… underwhelming. menu had changed and food was meh at best. location was nice service was okay took forever though.

Family weekend lunch where we all pay for our own food and drinks. Disappointed no senior meals available on the weekends which I didn’t realise as we usually go mid week. I will go to other Pegasus Hotels that have this available even on the weekend as the main menu was too much food for myself and my husband to eat and much more expensive. The salmon I ordered for $35 was over cooked and dry with a large serve of sweet potato mash and two tiny pieces if broccolini which was also soggy and over cooked. My husband ordered the lamb shank which cost $40 and far too much meat on plate with two large shanks. This is one reason why we prefer senior servings. We usually are given a circular table on the deck as I book for 8 people but this time it was a rectangular table and much more difficult to talk or hear people down the other end of the table as the restaurant was full on this particular Sunday. Other meals family members ordered looked very good and there was no complaints. The two children ate their meal and enjoyed the ice cream which came as part of the children’s meal. The two bottles of Pinot were very good. Nobody had dessert or coffee.

Nice location, service is terrible. There is no table service, so you spend time being your own waiter. They were not that busy but we had to keep asking for our table to be cleared. Seniors menu is not available during normal times you would eat with your family. Don't order the ribs ...awful and expensive. For the prices they charge for food it is not up to scratch. The Cove Hotel is a great venue for breakfast, lunch or Dinner. Ot just wonder in with a friend for a wine and light bite at the Bar. The public Bar is also a popular place to Rock on for the locals. Food is great but not cheap but venue overlooking the Marina makes it better than the average Hotel overlooking nothing!! Try it , i think you will enjoy it, oh and in Winter the fire place is on for a cozy dring

This review is for the bar area & bar menu. We have been coming here for a very long time. My dad & l come here when lm in Melbourne for a cold beer, bet on the horses and to have a good pub meal. Sadly this time around and hopefully it was a once off occasion though things weren’t great. Firstly when we walked in we had to look for staff. Then there was one female staff member all on her own at 12noon. This is poor management as she was run off her feet from the moment we arrived. It took another hour before she had help and with 8+ customers standing at the bar wondering what was going on l had to explain that there was only one staff member. Just before 2pm my dad and l (which my dad races on about the calamari) so we ordered 2x calamari dishes. What a great disappointment. You would get a better dish at any fish n chip shop. No care taken at all with presentation in the slightest and l would have to say it’s the worst pub meal that lve had since l can remember. So plain and unappetising that my dad was close to taking it back which he never does. I suspect there was no chef on and even barely at cook at the standard of food. The only positive was the beer was cold.
