Excellent room, comfortable king-size bed, amazing bathroom with a great shower, and high ceilings. It has a small refrigerator, and there's coffee and tea available for you to prepare whenever you like. The bathrooms were clean, which was a big plus. Despite this, I can't give it 5 stars because the TV and WiFi left a lot to be desired. There were no common areas, which might be something to consider depending on your needs. The staff was friendly and provided good service—the receptionist was always welcoming and willing to help, and the room cleaner was just as kind.

Clean rooms, centrally located, affordable, great food, soulful live music in the bar, minutes from everything- and a walk to a number of other restaurants, cafes and shops. Plenty of parking - extremely helpful and accommodating staff.

Great pub very comfortable atmosphere, service was second to none the staff couldn’t do enough they were very friendly engaging & thoughtful when we had an issue with the food, the chef fronted up and was so apologetic couldn’t have asked for a better response and we certainly weren’t complaining. We will be back the new look of the place is great 👌🍻

Double charged me for my room. Then had the person on the phone try to deny it until I show them the bank statement. Creeky floors, very muggy, no insulation in the room, very roudy people staying in nearby rooms so got no sleep either. Would’ve spent the extra money to stay at wrest point or somewhere else if I knew how bad this was

I travel to Hobart several times a year and always visit the Queen’s Head. However this time I was astonished to find that they have dramatically increased their prices for alcohol. The ambience of the place has changed from family oriented to yuppy. I had one ridiculously overpriced wine and left vowing never to return

There was one young chap who was working behind the bar on his own, taking meal orders and serving meals. He did an amazing job on his own and was very polite. Meals were lovely.

Pretty average. Food took almost an hour to come out (we ordered early, weeknight, not busy). Restaurant prices for below average pub food, no table service - have to order at the bar etc. There are better options close by.

Called on on a whim quite early Monday week ago, about 5:30pm, for dinner. It had been around 13 years since we last ate here and, to be honest, I expected very little; a mediocre counter meal and nothing more. How wrong I was! Tassie wine that was SUPURB and 2 of the most incredible meals we've actually ever eaten. Personally, my salmon, served on a pea puree with brocollini, pan fried zucchini and chat potatoes with some heavenly green sauce (citrusy but spicy) was one of those meals I'll always remember!!! It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! Commendations to the chef who worked Monday Nov 25th - just incredible.

Newly renovated and looks much better, it's 200% better than what it was previously, wouldn't be caught taking a dump in the old one. Food is a huge improvement and the absolute drongos that previously hung around it are gone too. A win-win really.

Was very surprised to see carpet where they serve alcohol, not even a wet area around the bar. Told to hang on by two different staff twice while waiting for service. Staff were drinking behind the bar. Meal came out looked like they had just thrown it on the plate, eggplant parmigiana with chips and salad, extremely greasy and badly presented. Took away my colleagues plate before I'd even finished my meal. Spray bottle and cleaning cloth sitting on an adjacent table that kids were trying to play with. Big pile of steak knives sitting out for anyone to grab. Would definitely not recommend.

Fantastic service and great food in a great atmosphere. Seafood basket was super fresh and chicken parmigiana was great size and taste too. Highly recommended.

Used to love this place and was my first suggestion for a lunch or dinner meal for work or with mates. Everything on the menu is now gone. and triple the price 32 bucks for a parmi? will be going elsewhere now

Under new management Schnitty burger pretty ordinary. Half a schnitzel, with supermarket coleslaw in burger bun with a small side of Dead Sea level salty chips. Roast of the day was OK, a dozen peas and a small potato.

Be nice to know the opening hours. Not on your door, not on your website, not on Google. No wonder this place is for sale

Best counter meal we have had for a long time. The steak special was very reasonably priced, cooked to perfection and served with plenty of sauce and chips. Fast friendly service as always.

Great value rooms. It’s a bit old, but they’ve made a reasonable effort at modernising it. They warned me that it was going to be loud in the rooms given the nature of rooms over a pub, but by the time I got back the bar was shut anyway. Beds comfy as hell, bathroom a bit cramped (and they need to learn how to remove mould from window seals). Definitely recommend for the price and location for a big night out crash pad.

The staff seemed a little upset to begin with that we didn't have a booking even though the place was empty. But the food was really good, everyone seemed happy with their food. Only complaint at all was the drinks tasted a little funky, some had too much syrup and some had none. All and all staff were nice and very helpful!!

Only drinks this visit, so I can't comment on the meal. Bar service was great and reasonably priced. Had to go to another area to put Keno on, which was ok but probably be better in the bar. I didn't go to the toilet. However, the girls said the woman's loo was not clean. It was disappointing as the rest of the bar area was ok. Toilets have got to be clean. Otherwise, people get turned off with the whole place and won't come back. Make sure you have some cash if you want to gamble as there is no ATM or cash out over the bar. There is an ATM nearby, but you have to leave the premises. Not pleasant on a cold night. So verdict An ok place for a short stop and have a beer, but be prepared if you need to go to the loo.

Don’t waste your time here if you use the TAB … owner won’t pay a winning ticket of two hundred bucks at the end the day. Happy to take your money … not happy to meet the TAB obligations to pay minor tickets.

Always an excellent inexpensive lunch.

If you want a good meal or great service DON'T COME HERE. After my mother and I tasted the cardboard chickpea fritters I found a black hair on my plate. When I took the meals up to the bar the bloke gruffly said I'm not vegetarian" " I'll tell the kitchen" - about the hair! No apologies. I was disgusted."

Budget accommodation that was excellent. Comfortable beds aircon in rooms great showers. Tea and coffee available in rooms. Ticks all boxes for budget accommodation. And Scott down at the bar and reception is a absolute champion. Could not help you enough. Great bloke. Didn’t eat there but if the meals taste as good as they look your in for a treat.
