Good place to hangout in city. Lot of guys playing pool.

Full of creepy guys who oogled the women in my group. Promptly left due to them feeling very uncomfortable after one of them touched a friend's shoulders and tried to buy her an alcopop from the bar even after politely declining.

We’ve been regular patrons of this pub, but our recent visit left us with mixed feelings. This time, I decided to try the Thai fish cakes, which came with sweet chili sauce, and I also ordered chips. When I asked for ketchup for my chips, the staff informed me there would be a $2.50 surcharge. At first, I genuinely thought it was a joke, but the server maintained a straight face and even suggested I swap the sweet chili sauce for the tomato sauce if I didn’t want to pay extra. I declined and was directed to the bar to make the payment. To my astonishment, my son went to pay, and the person at the bar remarked that the ketchup should’ve just been given to us. However, they still took the money. I found it baffling to be charged extra for tomato sauce at a sit-down pub, something I’d expect only from a takeaway shop. Additionally, I’d like to suggest a small but significant improvement for the pub’s event nights, such as trivia or billiards tournaments. It would be helpful if staff went around to tables to remind customers that the kitchen is about to close, giving them a chance to order more food. On this visit, we were disappointed to find out the kitchen had already closed without any prior warning. In the Summer we lose track of the time when the sun is shining. While the pub is still a place we enjoy visiting, these experiences dampened our evening. A little more customer care and flexibility could go a long way in maintaining loyal patrons.

Great food at reasonable prices. We had crumbed scallops which were served with chips and salad. Scallops were served some with roe on , and were fresh and tasty. The chips were crunchy and well cooked. Great food and reasonable priced drinks.

Really like how all the major display of sports betting and keno is discretely off to one side, excellent pool tables, nice large room. Joined on the spot. Solid meals, as well - you won't go hungry. Great spot for a pint or other before heading home or before OSFA footy Grand Final!

They have upped their ante. This venue is much more accommodating. Toilets are on the same level and lift accessible to get to the venue. Now pool tables and even a private space to hire out for events.

Steaks need seasoning. Salad needs more than lettuce and onion. Tolerable at best.

Defiantly the place to be... They have Brilliant Staff that makes it a great atmosphere for the whole family to hang out and have that game of pool, a drink and meal.

Atmosphere is great Food looks amazing BUT... my meal was given to the wrong person at our table who then proceeded to tuck in not suspecting it was beef not chicken. After waiting and being the last person to be left without a meal it was realised that there was a mix up with the meals and the wait staff wanted me to accept the partially eaten meal. WTH? After declining the offer they then cooked another meal. It's not cool to bugger up and then try to give the partially eaten meal to someone elseand if this didn't happen to me then I would not have believed it possible Sorry but I won't be back.

Great place for food in downtown if you're a member, or a guest of one. Generous portion size, and incredibly tasty food. The cheese and bacon burger was outstanding. My friend had the chilli cheese door which was huge and messy. Definitely a good option also.

Nice new premises in Elizabeth St. Food and drinks were good. Service was also good, more than enough positive reasons to revisit. Well done everyone.

The new venue is ok apart from trying to get a park in the middle of the CBD as it's a total pain. The service is really good and the staff are really friendly. The food isn't bad but isn't great either. Serving sizes are quite good but the quality is lacking. The chips seemed to be cooked in old fryer oil and the chicken parmigiana had a terrible flavour similar to cumin. Not sure if it's the sauce or they add that spice but it tastes terrible. We will continue to go there for drinks but whoever is running the kitchen needs to pay more attention.

I wanted an honest meal after a long day and got a good feed at the Hobart Workers Club. I grew up in a home with a father who was a Union Organiser and so backing the workers is part of my cultural DNA. The Hobart Workers Club is not a socialist nirvana of meagre meals, it is a place to have a beer, a game of pool, place a bet and get a good meal at the end of a long day. Once I signed the visitor's book I took in the cacophony of locals enjoying refreshment and tales of day and work out I should order my meal at the bar and I will be given a number stand and take my place in the dining area. The building seems steeped in a history of the area and I think they are looking to improve the club in the near future. I was seeking a steak with a mushroom gravy. The meal was brought to my table fairly quickly which is impressive when considering how busy the club was and with one customer annoyingly sending back a meal that was not what they expected (the type of customer who thinks tomato sauce is the limit of their spice palate). The steak was cooked the way I wanted; I like a rare steak which makes the quality of the ingredients the way to judge the quality of the meal. The way it was cooked was good but the steak was a little chewy and as not as melt in the mouth one gets with a high quality steak. I enjoyed the meal and for the price it is good value. It is a solid pub meal.

Great place to have a beer and a good feed. Friendly staff and patrons. Can't wait to check out the new venue.

Great service behind the bar

It was years ago that I last came here....and that was only to really play a few games of pool and have a couple of beers. This time around I decided to have a meal so I went for the Hawaiian Schnitzel with and extra gravy on the side and a pint. It all came to about $38 (the gravy being extra) which turned out to be very good value. The wait time wasn't very long (which was good as I was very hungry) and served by a very friendly waitress. If you're not a member it's nit a big deal, simply sign the guest book at the bar and away you. It was clean with a comfortable atmosphere I inside. I didn't use the toilet but would have to assume they'd be more than adequate. There us parking on Liverpool Street right out front or nearby with the best thing being no parking payment required after 6pm.....perfect for dinner time.

Friendly atmosphere with a small but nice menu! Prices are good as you would expect at a workers club! I had the mixed grill and was happy with the size and quality.

Good old fashion bistro, excellent meal, no fuss, decor is tired, friendly staff.

Great venue for a social drink or a game of pool. Friendly staff and the general vibe is welcoming and relaxed. We come here for competition 8ball and always feel looked after.
