OG and pokie-free! Last bastion of the original pokie-free RSL clubs. Excellent range of beer, wine and top shelf spirits at RSL prices. The members are friendly and welcoming of all-comers. Live music and Great sunny beer garden out front too.

I have never been more confronted or offended by someone, and by none the less the pink haired bar manager. Went with my toddler and my partner (a 12 year airforce veteran) who was accosted for walking in and forgetting he was wearing a hat. Was told “it’s offensive to people who served”. She was abrasive and aggressive. When he forgot again as he was chasing our toddler she asked him rudely to leave, kicking him out and made a big scene all while our toddler was already crying. I asked if she could just give us a moment as we were dealing with our upset child and then she threatened to call the police if he didn’t leave right then. After a heated back and forth then my partner trying to go back and apologize and met with more hostility he left. I then went to say goodbye to our friends and explain while we were leaving, the pink haired bar manager approached me and aggressively infront of everyone told me I had to leave right now. Then called a member over who also thought she was being uncalled for. I was so confronted and embarrassed but the situation I started to cry as this was happing infront of friends and my son that I walked out. Never have I ever been treated with such uncalled for behaviour and hostility and for her then to also yell out that say she doesn’t believe my partner served on top over everything was so disrespectful. Everyone else in the venue was lovely but this woman was rude taking things to a level that was not nesasery.

OK the inside is a classic RSL. It’s filled with old white dudes watching sports. And it smells like greasy. HOWEVER, the outside area on the Sydney road side is fantastic. It’s like hanging out in a park but there’s a bar next to it that sells snacks. You can also just straight up order Uber eats or bring your own food to the tables out there. It’s such a vibe. Lost a star because the inside is pretty gross. Book the outside in nice weather and have the best time.

It's an RSL that defies all misconceptions about the organisation. It's one of the club's that had shaken off the old stereotypes of what an RSL club was

Best RSL I have ever been to! It has loads of character, live music, a pool table, beer garden, and a great range of very well priced drinks. The staff and locals are super friendly and welcoming. There is no restaurant but they serve some snacks and casual hot food and you are welcome to bring food in from elsewhere. Make sure to visit on a Friday night for the raffle.

Went to a music afternoon. Great bands, great atmosphere and the tasting plate was brilliant. Had I not been driving, would have a perfect afternoon with an extra beer or three.

Great find, decor a little dated but the history on display is well worth seeing and reading. Great beer garden drinks were well priced and meals whilst basic all looked good. Staff all friendly and happy to chat.

Chill place with good vibes and great drinks selection. Very cheap food, not fancy but the chips are so good!

We chose this place to host a significant birthday and have since kept on going. It's a wonderful and unique RSL. Friendly locals and staff, amazing selection of craft beer and other drinks at great prices, food, lots of live music and community events, and no pokies. Old school Friday night raffle and I've lost track the number of times we have won the meat/veggie tray. Wish we had visited sooner, but better late then never!!!

A 'hidden gem' in Sydney Rd, Coburg. Amazing, Victorian craft beers on tap, a great friendly atmosphere and live music afternoons and night's across the weekend.

Saw 'The Happy Few' here on a recent Sunday, and was impressed by the character of the venue. Good drink prices. Great chill vibe. Hidden gem.

Interesting place. Only saw back part which reminded me of a hall. Only had drinks, not sure what food is like. Not like other RSL's I've visited.

No pokies, so glad the members have the moral fortitude to reject these horrible machines.

Great staff and a nice place to sit with mates.

Always nice atmosphere icey cold beer and snacky food piping hot, bands are hit and miss but usually a great sound.

The Coburg RSL is great. No pokies, good beer and great vibes.

Great local club, ticks all the boxes for family friendly get together and meeting old & new friends alike. No pokies so it's a traditional RSL, and not just for Defenece people, all are welcome, but veterans even more so.

Old school RSL, great atmosphere, selection of craft beers and live music. Also now have a canteen where you can get hot chips, toasted sandwiches, dim sims and a few other items. No pokies and very kid friendly.

Nice quirky old vibe with amazing array of craft beer. They have a few on tap too. Was our first visit and everyone is super friendly. Few kids running around having a great time. They currently have a limited kitchen. We enjoyed the burgers and chips. You can order in food too I believe:

Seriously, this place is THE hidden gem of the north and hands down the best venue in Coburg. (shhhh, don't tell anyone!) This is the perfect place for a small - medium-sized gathering or just a quiet beer with mates, and it's family-friendly! The staff are all wonderful, the drink selection impressive (easily the best selection in Coburg), and the vibes are always good (live music anyone?!?). The huge front grassed area and provided outdoor games mean kids can go bonkers tiring themselves out while the parents enjoy a drink and a rare uninterrupted chat with other real-life adults! It truly is a magical place.

How could you not love this place. An RSL LIKE NO OTHER! No pokies, no sad wet buffet. They have a great beer selection, cheap prices, huge open area, allow food deliveries and often have live music on the weekends. I love it!
