It a nice place to go but the sea food platter wasn't good the fish was dry and you should add more salad not just lettuce like add tomatoe, red onion ect and make it like a salad
Went today for the first time for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and pub, great country pub atmosphere
Chicken Snitzel was good couldn't eat it all but the seafood platter was over priced & over cooked & hardly had any of what you would expect on a seafood platter my partner was not happy with it at all
Great old pub, we returned for a Sunday roast after a few years, it was as good as we remembered, and turns out it was the new chefs first day! Fanryfeed!
Went for lunch. Had ten meals all were very good. 4 stars because I'd suggest if you prefer your steak medium to well done. Ask for it to be well done. Was under cooked for all our steak meals. Still was nice. I just needed to be cooked little longer. Service wasn't that friendly but maybe just having a bad day. We all have them.
Last Wednesday, I indulged in Chef Duncan Craddock's culinary masterpiece at the Bushrangers Bistro, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight! As a self-proclaimed Parmigiana connoisseur, I've sampled my fair share, but Chef Craddock's creation takes the cake (or rather, the plate). The generous portion, the perfectly cooked chicken, the rich, flavorful sauce, and the gooey melted cheese – it was a symphony of flavors in every bite. The chips were crispy, the salad was fresh, and the overall presentation was top-notch. If you're in the area on a Wednesday, do yourself a favor and treat your taste buds to Chef Craddock's Parmis night. You won't be disappointed!
Nice little pub, nice service, but our meals were terrible. The chef/ cook needs a lesson or two from Gordon Ramsay 🙂
Great meal friendly service, but was time to filter or change the flyer oil could taste it in the scallops and chips , but still a good experience, a lot off pubs could learn a lot from the family atmosphere
We have been to the Crown Inn many times as it’s a local for us. The last time we went we were highly disappointed. I have had the Scollop & chips many times before but recently it was not worth paying over $30. I counted 6 ok size Scollops the rest were basically crumb. Such a shame, we won’t be rushing back there!
Beautiful little pub.
Food and Atmosphere was great, always friendly and helpful staff. Our Tiny Teddy loved it outside with a bit of steak ;)
Great service and value for money , would recommend the Margherita and bbq chicken pizza and chips. Beautiful floral arrangements. Will be back!
Your food was delicious and you catered for me for my GF needs. Thank you
Quaint little pub but has great meals and in an historic location. Worth a visit
Great meals
$16 for a MASSIVE schnitzel and chips, or 15 crumbed scallops and salad. So yummy and so worth the money 😁 and hubby had already eaten some
Decided to spend easter lunch at the crown in as i used to go there often years ago and always enjoyed it.Had a booking for 8 people. 4 of which ordered steak- 1 x scotch, 1 x porterhouse and 2 x rump. Scotch was delectable but the 3 others were inedible. Asked for medium for PH, got rare. 2 x rump was as chewy as my boot. Also ordered the creamy garlic pasta. It was so spicy! You could see flakes of red chilli throughout yet nothing was mentioned at all about it containing chilli on the menu. Weren't asked how the meal was at conclusion so we offered advice about the quality of the meat. Well! The male that served us is obviously in the wrong profession. Absolutely no manners at all when it comes to dealing with the public. Yelling at us with a big loud voice about how we should have said something at the start of the meal, how we had better not leave a complaint, and reminding us of THAT IS HOW YOU ORDERED THE MEAT TO BE COOKED! He came out from the kitchen and said well refund you 2 steaks and that's it!!. Nothing was even mentioned about refunding the pasta that was too spicy to eat and tbh I was too scared to say anything about it. He was a tall man, very loud, obnoxious and rude. I dont know if it was because it was a public holiday and he didn't want to be at work, he was having a bad day or if he is just a horrible person but just from his service alone, none of us will be returning and we will most definitely not recommend them to anyone. Yes, they refunded 2 x steaks that were inedible, but the way he spoke down to us, is enough to never go back there again. Considering between us we spent close to $400, basically it's an Easter meal I'd rather forget.
A bit outdated, the food was good though and a decent sized meal.
Great meal, one of the best pub steaks I've had for a long time. I ordered a rare scotch (pictured) with seafood sauce, which was served on the side. My husband ordered an eye fillet cooked medium & received a lovely thick cut cooked perfectly. Both came with chips & a fresh, well dressed salad which was served in a separate bowl. Didn't have dessert as the meals were substantial, but the menu had the old favourites, sticky date pudding, banana split etc, all for under $10.00 which is terrific value for what we seen others enjoying.
Great food quick and friendly service. Meal were a generous size. Relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely go again . Garlic bread was a melt in your mouth . Must have .
Lovely old pub.and good food.
Changed ownership since last there 10 years ago and change for the better
Great pub food ,friendly staff was pleasantly surprised
I used to love coming here but since a year ago having lunch here went to the counter to pay for my meal and wanted to have a leftover container to have a waitress take away my food and another tell me that I shouldnt have left the meal at my table This really did upset me
Good basic pub meal
Lovely and accommodating.
The food is great but service was difficult and slow as lots of people in the dining room and not enough staff at the bar. Overall what a great venue just needs a few more staff on shift so you don't line up for 15 minutes for a pint.
I used to visit here often and loved the food, service and atmosphere. A couple of visits, after new management, where inept handling of people with bookings at a bar cash register in a half hour queue has spoiled the entire experience. Take bookings. Escort people to their table. Pay waiting staff to take orders etc. like used to happen and have droves of old customers returning.
Great service, friendly staff. An old pub which they have tried to make look a lil classy. Great effort. Would recommend this pub 👌
Very friendly and the meal excellent
Too many sunflowers everywhere. Lost it's rustic relaxing charm used to have. Disappointed
Visited this inn for a lunch function. For a large group, we were not disappointed at all. Garlic loaf to start was fantastic, fresh, and tasty. Everyone commented on their meals. Some took home doggy bags as meal sizes were big. Staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming. We will visit again.
Great little local pub meals all good but male bartenders should do there job and stop dicrinating against patrons. Going down here I personally will go up the road
Very disappointed with my recent meal. Ordered steak (medium) and it came out basically raw. Friends ordered chicken and that was also raw. The chef needs to have a refresher course in how to cook. Will not be returning.
Meals were massive, even the specials, and tasted fantastic. Beer was well priced. Staff were awesome. Beautiful spot. Highly recommend this little pub in Pontville.
Great meals
Great service, descent food, and good value - a country pub that won't disappoint.
Nice pork ribs with huge pile of well cooked fresh veggies in a pub nearly 200 years old.
We stopped here on the way to the TOY RUN. Was very busy but everyone was happy!
Meal didn't feed me up.. Steak was cooked perfectly, however was a poor cut of meat, and was not seasoned. Veggies were average, once again not seasoned and there was no potato with the roast veg? Staff were nice enough but unfortunately seemed like they didn't want to be there. Pros - good atmosphere Steak cooked well Meal was hot Cons- Steak not seasoned Staff were average No potato in the roast veggies Abit expensive for what it is
Nice local pub...steaks are amazingly cooked the rest of the food could use a bit more love
Great food beautiful staff very friendly and helpful lovely clean place to visit
Fantastic, went for the first time since moving to the area 6 years ago and OMG I wish I had gone earlier!!! Great pub food, fantastic service and brilliant value. I'll be back!

Great menu, very well executed, friendly staff, kitch decore in a beautiful historic pub it ticks all my boxes.
Went for a meal last night, what can I say took over an hour for our garlic bread to come out (only because we asked)along with I kids meal ther were 4 kids my vegetables were cold People came in after us and were serves there entrees and mains well before us Won't be back in a hurry vey very disappointed
Friendly atmosphere, nice food 👌
Wonderful meal and friendly staff. Handled our large group without missing a beat. Would recommend to anyone.
crumbed scallops over cooked and chicken palmy was dry
Meals are great especially their Curried Scallops. Staff are friendly & helpful.
The pub now has new owners and they are making remarkable changes to the old run down Crown Inn which has been needed for so long! The new owners also own the Richmond Arms hotel which is a great pub and so warm and cosy in the winter. I am looking forward to more changes in the Crown Inn and I am confident it will be just as warm and cosy as the Richmond Arms. The meals in the dining room are really good and competitively priced and the staff are very friendly. A bucket list kind of pub 👍
Food was delicious and in abundance
Great food, attentive hostess and partner, will definitely recommend this restaurant.
I had the seafood platter. It was spot on. Loved the cold and cooked platter in one. I went home with the fish and a lot of chips, a winner!
Lots of good options on theenu, including dessert options, which you don't get in many bistros. Food was well priced. Ordering was hard - staff were all tripping over each other - the person I ordered through made some drinks, another made other drinks and took the money, and a third one came and tried to assist half way through, which means they each kept having to ask me what I ordered, and they missed things that I then had to ask for. This happened for all food and drink orders. Food arrived quickly for half the family, but they missed the other meals, so some of us were finished just as the remaining meals arrived. The venue was small and quaint, but not too bad. Parking was relatively easy. Food was just ok, not bad but not standout either.
Great service, great old fashion pub vibe. Old decor but made modern and comfortable. Meals are well priced and large servings. The specials are worth checking out. Lunch time snitty or scollaps for $14 is a steal between 12 and 2.
The food was adequate, but the noise from drunken patrons was over the top.
Lovely quaint pub with delicious food!
Loverly lunch today
Very nice and quiet and good food
Great staff reason able price
Had a pleasant visit with my riding buddies.
4 of us Had a meal there on Sunday! Food was fantastic. Good honest pub food. Reasonably priced. Service was super friendly and efficient. If they had a zero alcohol beer available it would have been practically perfect.
