Great little bar with a brilliant rooftop. Very tasty meals and polite staff!

The Mt View is an impressive venue, spread across four floors with the upper most being a rooftop beer garden with unparalleled views of the city and surrounding suburbs. There are function areas, a pool table and a few TVs if you want to keep an eye on the sport. Ticks all the boxes for me.

A really nice pub, especially when it's quiet, with one of the best rooftops east of the city. It can get very crowded (standing room only) on AFL days though - plan your visit around the AFL schedule, depending on how busy you like it. The food is pretty standard for an Australian pub but not bad. My favourite things on the menu so far have been the burger and the beef brisket lasagna. In fact, the burger was fantastic on my last visit - I think it's got better!

I had a the chicken parma, and also some wedges. Wedges were really good - crispiest ones I’ve had I think and soft as in the middle. Parma was okay, nothing amazing - the sauce seemed pretty basic and kinda tasted like a basic pasata but it did the job. A good selection of beers on tap, a just of pale ale went for $30. The venue is nice - very big and some good outdoor areas when it’s sunny. Nice open areas inside too.

The crowd is pretty bogan at Mt View. Definitely didn’t feel like a safe space for the gays. There were sports playing on big TVs all around the place. I had wedges for dinner because there are almost zero vegetarian options. But honestly they were actually really good wedges. Like, best I’ve had in ages. So crispy! Staff were nice enough. The venue is huge. Stairs go up and up, it feels like a rabbit warren in there. Overall, I don’t think I’d go back. Definitely not for dinner anyway.

I was the only brown guy in the building, which is normally okay except when the self proclaimed owner of the pub follows you to the bathroom every time you go and is constantly staring at you and your partner the entire time. I was eventually locked out for peeing in the laneway behind the venue, which I didn't even do, I was just standing there vaping and came up behind me and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. This is by far the worst I've been treated by any venue I've been to. Great pub if your white though, I'm sure.

A Melbourne must do.. The rooftop bar is my favourite!!

My daughter went to the rooftop bar with friends last night. She is a non dronker so ordered a soda water. She was charged $12. She then brought 2 drinks for friends which $22 each. Total rip off. They are never going there again. To tip it off there was no virtually no shade on the rooftop bar so all the girls were sunburnt. I understand that prices are alwaus going up but $12 for a soda is rediculous.

Solid Sunday evening out with the family at the Mountain View, a good location to escape the hussle that usually accompanies the area. Food was what I needed and the staff met my three criteria for a great night out: polite, professional and productive.

Awesome place to hangout and enjoy a meal and drink before a footy game at the MCG. Lively atmosphere, good food and a great variety of drink options at the various bars inside the venue. Will be back!

Tuesday night Trivia is very fun, the host is great! The staff here are very friendly, and the atmosphere for trivia is very friendly. A few good vegetarian options on the menu. Rooftop has a beautiful view of the city!

Sadly a favourite pre-footy venue has really dropped the ball. The kitchen clearly have little to no idea on how to balance a full venue. Smash patty burger had no caramelisation and were at best steamed, to the point of tasting rancid. Two bites and returned, with zero care from the staff who simply shrugged, took the plate from me and walked off with no discussion. Same applied for the rest of the table order. Very disappointed.

A beautiful pub in Richmond, many split levels providing some intimacy to your visit. Very well decorated with the charm of an old pub that has been brought into modern times, industrial design adds a charm to the beautiful upper floors wooden stairs and balustrades. The food was great and brought out in good time considering the number of people we ordered for. “A good pub feed”, on the pricey side for food but portions are decent and it’s actually yummy. Bar staff were friendly and quick with service. Many great selections of beer, wine and spirits available. A mixed crowd of older and younger patrons coming for a pre game meal/drink on Saturday

Great food service and location. Highly recommended and a stones throw from the MCG. Prices are very reasonable especially given the quality of the food. Cosy atmosphere with open fire on the bottom level and spectacular views to the MCG Rod Laver arena and the Melbourne Storm home ground from the rooftop. Access by tran or bus as well. Highly recommended for your next visit to Melbourne.

Has circular tables for having a good convivial natter amongst friends.

$27 steak night every Thursday is a nice bonus to an after work hangout sesh with some colleagues. As Thursdays are now the new Fridays, it’s always nice to have a place that offers great food and drinks, all under one roof. Definitely coming back here next week.

The food here is to die for. Bar service excellent. Comfortable seating. Beers are getting dear but that is everywhere.

Pretty disappointed to have had a whole hens party kicked out 5 minutes after arriving to our booking which was booked 6 weeks ago due to one of the girls supposedly being too intoxicated ..when we hadn't had a drink in over an hour due to being at a dance class next door who don't sell alcohol. The venue was empty and filled with about 20 MEN.. Unisex toilets that were absolutely putrid. The venue definitely lost at least a thousand dollars that we would have spent and clearly have an issue with women as every single one of us was kicked out for what felt like just existing. Security claim it wasn't their call but the managers call. Won’t be returning and won't ever recommend this place to anyone.

Been coming to this pub for sometime. Just now had the worst Parma x 2. Spent $150 all up.Guys I know it’s footy season and your pub has a lot of patrons. It was dry and the ham and cheese appeared to be an afterthought. Put some effort please

It was the first time I had been to this pub and boy I loved it the drinks were so cold the food was top notch and the staff were very friendly I highly recommend you treat yourself and visit this place I will definitely eat and drink here again.

Really cool place, went on Boxing Day and at 4pm they were doing meals which was awesome! Better than getting a feed at the G.

Staff were friendly. I had the scotch steak for tea it was so tender and flavours were beautiful the creamy garlic sauce with the potato gratin with broccolini was a perfect match.

A beautiful refuge from the storms battering down upon the city. I journeyed here before attending the cricket one fine evening, and found myself hungering for a schnitzel and chips. Lo and behold, this place delivered, with beautiful, crisp breadcrumbs and juicy chicken. Next - my thirst. I found myself longing for a Hard Solo, which was unfortunately unavailable. The man behind the bar recommended instead a vodka Solo, which filled the Hard Solo shaped hole in my Soulo. Fantastic work. Next stop? The toilet. I washed my hands and went to dry them, but found the paper dispenser empty. I strapped in and began the effort of drying my hands with the pitiful breeze ejected from the dryer, and as I stood there, I heard the unmistakable symphony of a man flatulating in the toilet. All in all, a great way to spend a night.
