Classic fish and chips shop. Chips were okay. The flake fish’s batter was great. Calamari was good too - same batter as the flake fish. Freshly fried.

Head a quick snack here today and I must say the oil was clean and the dimmies were cooked to perfection too!!! Chips crunchy and didn't leave that oily residue in your mouth... will be back next time we are in town!!

Once again I ordered through menulog and once again it was NOT delivered WHY??? Menulog driver didn’t turn up WHY keep using such a poor service Get your own driver or change service

Great fish and chips (and I am very fussy about my f&c’s). The flake was delicious, the chips were old-school in the best possible way, potato cakes good too. This was on an extremely busy Saturday night in January, and the food standard was still very high.

Customer service very terrible. Asian male serving me did not give me any time of the day, didn’t explain properly the fish I was trying to order and his tone of voice was very rude. Service made me feel terrible and upset.

Extremely Rude. 2 people in store the lady in front of us kindly requested gluten free and it was followed by I assume the manager hovering over the checkout practically yelling at this girl about not doing it. As I walked up to order I was greeted with a head down hi and before I could say anything the employee walked off and then returned to say well “what is it you want huh” unfortunately I can’t give a review on the food because I walked out of the restaurant and found Mavi Seafood just around the corner (highly recommend) who apparently have numerous customers who have walked out of lucky catch because of poor service. Disappointing.

We ordered on menu log : order did not arrive as advised. Had to go along and pick up. Food had been sitting in shop for 40 minutes. We asked if they could cook a new batch. Answer : No not our problem take it up with menu log. Abusive attitude. A decent business would have apologised to its customer and done as asked. This is not a decent business and even though we have used them many times won’t go back. In the scheme of things probably won’t affect their business at all : however if they treat all customers this way then they won’t last long so good riddance.

Terrible customer service. We placed an order via Menulog, and the delivery time kept extending from 40 minutes to over an hour. Eventually, we learned there was no courier available to deliver our order. The manager’s solution? Contact Menulog to cancel and request a refund, except you can’t cancel an order once payment is made. Completely unprofessional. If Menulog’s contractors are unreliable or unavailable, don’t list your business on the platform if you can’t ensure delivery. Seriously, do better.

Calamari was 2% calamari and 98% batter. Potato cake was the only thing that was decent.

We felt very lucky to have bought fish and chips here. Fish was cooked perfectly in clean oil. A short stroll to beach to complete the ultimate seaside dinner.

The piece of Couta my husband ordered was the best fish he's had for ages. Tasty, and not as many bones as he expected. He would definitely order again. My chicken schnitzel roll was huge and delicious also. Maybe just a little more tomato and Mayo would have been better but not a deal breaker. Prompt service. Great work team.

I have to eat gluten free and they refused to cook my fish without flour batter. I don't recommend this place to eat. Not helpful and rude.

Ordered a few fish to be grilled and they turned out horrible. Food was average, would not eat here again.

Great food, lovely people. One of the only places in town you can get a grilled salmon fillet. Love their chicken souvlaki- best in the area- and no dripping! The food is always clean and thoughtfully packaged. Thanks guys.

The problem is the wait time during busy periods (45 minutes last time). Need a system where it can be sped up if you pay more money.

When they’re not busy, the potato cakes are nice but expect a slight wait. When they’re busy, expect to wait 45 minutes for overcooked rotten potato cakes that are non edible. Don’t waste your time or money when it’s busy👎🏻

The best fish and chip shop in the world! The burgers were very tasty and the fish and chips and nuggets were ultimately the best food ever. Any of the bad reviews should die and never to be seen again. Sorry but this is the best fish and chip shop in the world. Don’t take this offence personally. Highly recommend! 😋

Customer service is non existent and shop looks dirty but food is generally good except over Xmas holidays and Friday’s because they can’t handle busy periods.

I placed a phone order, as I realized Lucky Catch would be busy, I arrived on time to collect order, and went to collection counter, advising pick up order for Peter, I was rudely told to stand in the queue, where people were placing orders. I had to wait 15 minutes to collect in this queue, and by the time I arrived home in Safety Beach, everything was cold. What was the point of placing a phone order ? never again, will I deal with such a rude person. Peter J..

One of the best pieces of grilled barramundi I've ever had, and great homemade calamari rings.

The owners seem to hate anyone who’s not Chinese. They are unfriendly rude and arrogant. The food is okay the home made potato cakes are awesome. Now you also have to pay a surcharge. Find another restaurant

As a local supporting local, its seems much harder trying to find a good, quick fast food take away. On busy warm nights your order pick up order is 40 minutes wait. When you give them 45-50 minutes and pick up your order, you find they haven't even started cooking your order and pending what you order they will quote you another 10-15 minutes before its ready. This is unacceptable. As a local this is the normal time you would wait if you go into the shop and order directly over the counter. Why bother having a phone in service. The food is generally better than the other fish and chips in the local area, but the service is appalling and disgraceful. I would rather drive to McDonalds in Rosebud for burgers next time.

I tried this by accident, because salt, fish and chips was closed. This would have to be virtually the best fish and chips I have ever had. Love it love it love it love it.

Used to be great but has steadily gone downhill. Unbelievably appalling service. Quite expensive for the tiny servings. My partner waited 50 minutes, then once the order finally arrived they completely forgot to include the fish - then screamed at him arguing the toss about the refund. I am flabbergasted. Needless to say - we won’t be back.

Service was rude , menue is false as they advertise butter fish wich is sea perch and they give you hake lol, ive been working in fish in chips for over 30 years and haven't heard anything like it , the fried dummies were soft , the burger had no flavour like it was plain mince, and the fish is frozen not fresh,definitely don't recommend .

Chips were dry as a bone oil was burnt and old fish was bad quality

Food as hard as seashells, burnt like the sun, shop dirtier than a fisherman’s hat, kids screaming in a back room, great way to run a food business….

Just went to get our fish and chip from Lucky Catch Dromana Watching our food being prepared and the lady drops the fish on the floor she seems upset and places to the side tells the gentleman working beside her then grabs it and wraps it up and calls my number When I questioned her about it says no it will be alright as if that’s a normal thing and people should except it unfortunately that being thrown in with everything else has destroyed everything in the pack Very dangerous practices at this establishment be very aware.

Service wasn’t great. Food was genuinely terrible Fish was cold and very small and filled with bones that it couldn’t be eaten Potato cakes were stale and over cooked Souvlaki was definitely old ingredients. Will not be retuning. Waste of $40

Pierce Barber is THE MOST AMAZING employee I've ever witnessed at a fish and chips shop. His speed and customer service are superb. I suggest to the owners to give this man a raise to at least 30 dollars an hour! I gave him a hefty tip for his excellent services and he was so thankful. The food was even better! The chips were crispy and the flake was delicious!

Have been going to this fish and chip shop for years when in Dromana and was disappointed on our last trip when we were having to wait over an hour for our fish and chips with no communication that there would be a long wait time. When we finally got our food, it was super oily and potato cakes were practically all batter and no actual potato.

Never judge a book by its cover! Terrible shopfront, but amazing food. Best fish and chips ever a must if in Dromana.

Very disappointing. Waited nearly 40mins for the order (which is fine because it’s a Friday night) but most of the order sat on a rack for about 10mins while we waited for 2 steam dim sims to be ready (only know because I had to ask what was taking so long). When we finally got our order the fish and dim sims were both cold, my daughter found a hair in her dim sum, the potato cakes smelt and tasted like dirty feet. My wife was actually dry retching after a bite of one of the potato cakes. The chips were good but not good enough for me to ever go back.

Given how busy it was the staff did a very good job at taking orders and cooking the fish and chips in a reasonable time. The fish itself is quite nice with plenty of chips served.

I was expecting to actually ‘catch’ the fish when entering the premises, for instance a man holding a trout and throwing it at you when you entered - being ‘lucky’ if you caught it! Thankfully, it was them that caught the delicious seafood! Really tasty food it was too, my word!

I must say , the fish is fresh and tasty, they using fresh oils as I was there myself, quite impressive as I wasn’t quite sure till I ate it, recommended!

Absolutely appalling customer service. Went in store and the person who took our order wasn't paying attention and barely even looked at us. He rudely started talking to other people multiple times while we were in the middle of telling him our order. It's no wonder he got our order wrong. Not to mention the restaurant was in desperate need of a clean and the food quality itself was sub par to say the least. The only thing lucky about this place, is if you actually managed to have a pleasant experience.

A small family owned and run business. The food is fresh, tasty, and crispy. They have plenty of variety of fish, burgers, souvlaki’s and side dishes. The service is always quick and easy. I’m a repeat customer and attend almost every weekend to get my fish and chips.

For over 10 yes I have been buying fish and chips here. Now it is under new management I will NEVER go back! Soggy chips, I ordered Scnapper - it wasn't Schnapper! Plus these Asians are very fond of Cash - I wonder why? They charge a whopping surcharge for Visa and eftpos Cards they add 36c

Oily, flake and calamari not fresh, and expensive. I wont go back.
