Great pub in the heart of Hobart waterfront. Awesome meals and great atmosphere. It was around the corner from our hotel, over a few days we had lunch, dinner and afternoon drinks. There is a casual bar menu, or the more extensive restaurant menu. Found a new local in Hobart!
Excellent food
Nice place for a drink and some food, nice atmosphere and good location.
Great time here. Chowder is next level!
Busy Friday arvo with some oysters and beers. Tasmanian beer and oysters on show.
Loose !
Sports bar serving food with outdoor area. We ordered a pizza from the Derwent bar, it was one of those pizzas that when you picked up a slice it drooped like a elephants trunk and the topping falls off; you could easily roll it into a grease ball and I paid money for this. Had 2 slices and gave the rest away to other patrons. On the weekends the music revs up and it's boom boom boom till midnight, best avoided if you want a quite drink.
Lovely spot for dinner, good food and service.
Strolled around Battery Point enjoying the houses on a hot afternoon. Then a perfect end to sit outside drinking a pint of cold cider.
Popped in for a few drinks staff were very friendly
The food was not good and there were only potatoes!
Loved the cold beer and the view. Fish and chips were below average.
The tartan chicken was absolutely amazing
Good service
Great local pub like atmosphere.
Fabulous lobster mornay (half the price, bigger & tastier than the same at Mures!) & great wine from Longford
Within the Hotel....all excellent
When in Hobart, this is a must go to! Situated in the perfect location, right between Salamanca and Constitution Dock it is an easy place to eat and drink the afternoon away with old town pub vibes! The staff are so friendly and have lots of suggestions of where to go and what to see whilst you're in Hobart! Highly recommend!
Fantastic atmosphere, great service and top food.
Such a great bar 👌
If you are ever in hobart down the docks, this is always a great place to meet and have a great meal. The service was excellent and the food was sooo filling that I couldn't finish it all. I couldn't recommend this highly enough. Go and visit even if it was just for a beer.
Went to the venue looking for a meal after flying in. Needed a stroller friendly venue and this was the first one we found. Walked in without a booking and we were quickly shown to a table, and a high chair was brought quickly for our 11 month old. The service was friendly and efficient. The menu has great variety and I enjoyed a departure from typical ‘pub grub’. Being from Sydney it feels like pub menus are copy-pasted venue to venue. I ordered brisket - simply fantastic. Tender and flavourful. My partner ordered the burger which tasted great but was a bit messy (then again, it is a burger). The food is reasonably priced for its quality. The specials looked fantastic. Will recommend.
Great beer
Starving after our bus tour, we headed for somewhere to eat. I needed a steak and vegetables and this place served just that, and it was so good. Cooked to perfection as I like a medium rare steak, my husband enjoyed his well-done , it was served with broccoli cooked so still crunchy and perfect roast potatoes. The plain sauce came on the side and was as yummy as you'd expect. The staff were great ,and we were served promptly. I forgot to take a picture of this meal as I was so hungry, Well done, guys.
Staff were brilliant, always happy, friendly and full of siggestions for places tourists should visit.
Great little pub to visit. Sat outside with the heaters on, which was cosy. Had the Wallaby schnitzel there a couple of times and it was yummy.
Great service. Friendly staff. Wonderful veges. Steak ok. Very good selection of drinks.
Nice setting, reviews over rated. Average pub food passed off as restaurant quality.
Excellent meal at the Customs House Hotel. Service was spot on. Will definitely be back!
Great location and a really perfect place to have a drink and watch the world go by
Nice old pub on a corner. Heated outdoor seating area. Relaxed environment. Pricey
Good menu and beverage list, but it's not cheap. The few staff that were on duty did their best. Seating inside or out on the pavement
Good nibblies nice atmosphere
2 stars given on the basis of customer service. Drinks were as expected but staff seemed like they shouldn't really be in hospitality industry. Like a chore just serving at the bar. Zero effort to clear glasses or plates from tables as people left and new customers arrived in the bar out the front. Loads of better bars with better service in this area.
Tasty filling food. Good atmosphere either inside or out.
Amazing Waterfront Bar in the Heart of Hobart. Great atmosphere, and DELICIOUS nibblies/ meals. Will 100% be returning to The Derwent Bar on our next trip.
Nice little front bar of the hotel we were staying at, lots of Hobart sailing race memorabilia, good bar selection and friendly service , good place for a few drinks.
Does what it says - sells booze.
I can only speak as l find...last year a small group of us thoroughly enjoyed a Scallop fest meal which includes soup and a drink. However, last week we had exactly the same meal... what a difference, scallops were so small and covered in overcooked breadcrumbs, the chips were overcooked and tough and oily. I won't speak for everyone but all the plates looked the same. Disappointing to say the least, at 42 dollars per head l am sorry but l won't be doing it again.
Great
Tried wallaby schnitzel for the first time here - was totally delicious. My partner enjoyed the parmi. Beers on tap, Would love to see more Tassie wines on the list. Great service, will definitely go back.
Delicious food, and great service. Good range of local brews and spirits
Great pub and the staff are really friendly. Great location for a drink, food and watch the world walk pass. Best pub in Hobart
Very nice outdoor area with fantastic views of the harbour
Good food, great views. Can walk around the wharf after meal
Good place. Good location to have a beer.
A beautiful part of Tasmania, historic buildings and history of the former convict settlement.
Great place food and wine awsome
nice spot. great cheap oysters on tuesdays
Good pub food in a great location to watch the world go by.
Food was quite good - same quality as the restaurant but smaller menu. The Scallop Feast was still available here. Service was OK but got the feeling he didn't care if he was there or not.
Great bar and staff, superb chowder and seafood risotto!
Warm and busy on a Wednesday night. The crumbed scallops were a bit disappointing but the Last Rites XPA on tap was delicious and service was prompt/friendly
