Had luncheon with a group of ladies. I am a Coeliac to which the cashier stated they would cater as much as possible for me.

My daughter had her 21st birthday in the Atrium room. It was a perfect venue, lovely food, amazing staff who were incredibly helpful. From first enquires to the conclusion of the party it was well organised and took the a lot of the stress out.

I was buying Mash Potatoes and Gravy here l started getting strange reactions here including sweats and the runs so l had to stop eating here as these reactions continued to happen after eating here every time

I’ve recently moved to Melbourne from Sydney and have been frequenting this great local hotel. The meals are great, particularly Steak Night, all served with a warm, friendly smile. There is one stand out attendant, Zoey, whose exceptional service, on every occasion, is second to none. One of the reasons we come back. Zoey is management material and her service is worthy of emulation.

Good parking, great service and a decent selection of beers. Parma had an amazing Napoli sauce and came with a salad that had a good portion of tomato with crispy chips but sadly also had burnt edges and was dry. Decent lunch overall.

We had a great family outing with nice food and drinks; that were made perfectly by Hannah (#2 she said) and Zoe. They were friendly and chatty about the bar and cocktails. It's our new local and we've already dined here multplie times.

Advertised $6.50 schooners so we pulled up with the boys, then the bar said they didn’t have that beer and it would be $9. On principle we left

This is our local and we love it. The food is pretty good for a pub, great range of drinks to suit all including cocktails. If I had to provide a criticism it would only be that the menu could change a bit more often but that would be it. The staff are what makes the place feel homely. A shout out to our favourite staff member Analeise. She is so lovely, she takes the time to get to know the patrons, is always so kind and friendly and goes above and beyond. The Blacky is lucky to have her.

Great place for an afternoon bevy! Awesome beer garden and sports bar with daily deals on drinks, nightly activities such as trivia night and joker poker, free pool etc. The bistro holds its own with classic pub food to rival any in melb. Shout out to all the staff that make you feel at home and appreciate their locals as the backbone of the business

Walked in at 9.15 waiting and waiting ..at rhe counter for service...Waited 13 min then had enough walked out and phone the place up .. told them. I went back in and the young girl was upset for me calling and argued that the person was here all the time ..what rubbish..she doesn't want to be there and should not be dealing with cust and it was made clear. I LEFT AND WILL NEVER RETURN I will also advise you all DONT GO HERE FIND ALTERNATIVE..worst service ever

I’ve been hitting up the blacky for a couple decades.. I’ve seen it go up and down and up and down… met up with a mate for dinner and the steaks were perfect… James at the bar was attentive and spot on… anyone looking for a quality feed and good service should hit this place up!

Food tasted like it was Frozen fish and chips were probably sitting there for a while. Maybe it was what I ordered, as friends burger was good.

Christmas Day lunch was truly spectacular. Staff were friendly, accommodating and the food was top notch. Got a little hot in the atrium but could see the staff working their best to look after customers. Shout out to Kenzie for their amazing service with a smile. Will definitely be back soon!

Christmas lunch- at $140 a head - is pitiful, miserable and unbecoming of the day itself (and, YES,I acknowledge higher rates of pay etc etc). No seasonal joy here. Staff were magnificent, venue fabulous....even if the AC wasn't too great. Entree of 4 prawns, main of undercooked steak (no vegetables in sight), no bread rolls, no soup and a measly desert ; miniscule servings, left hungry and yearning to go home to raid the fridge. Coffee extra too ! At $140 a head one might imagine - maybe - free house wine and, maybe, a voucher for a beer or three, free soft drinks for kids etc. Not a chance (and none of us drink, no self interest here). Highway robbery on Whitehorse rd. Our waiter Aiden, an amiable and friendly soul, was fantastic; the 'generosity' of the Blackburn hotel anything but. Join me in never, ever returning to be fleeced by these thieves. Oh...I'd love a refund !

Christmas Day lunch was not a happy experience. Air conditioning not working in the dining area and ceiling fan above table also not working. Should have been warned but 13 of us had paid our money on booking so they already had our money. Had to pull window blinds down ourselves to get relief from sun pouring in windows. Staff took too long to clear empties from table and waited too long between courses. Would not recommend for a special occasion.

Great place for a casual drink, or meals with family and friends. Welcoming, professional staff, easy parking.

Sadly one of the hotels that was part of the anti Australia Day celebrations. Boycott in place. Food good, but they have changed how they run it and I wouldn’t even give 1 star for that. They are doing table service which is a bit of a disaster. But the worst was when they INSISTED I give them my credit card and driver’s licence before I could order. People had been leaving without paying, so rather than go back to the tried and proven positive way of ordering at the register, they opted to take your cards, leave them unsecured behind the bar, and expected people to be okay with that!

We called in for a quick and early meal as we needed a convenient location during a busy day. The staff member who seated us was so incredibly unwelcoming into an almost empty venue - it was as though he was doing us a favour to seat us in his empty restaurant. Following this we were spoken to extremely rudely by bar staff when ordering drinks. The food was actually really quick (which we needed) and quite good so this experience with awful staff and customer service is so disappointing. I genuinely don’t like giving bad reviews online as I’m a business owner myself but there was no helpful staff around to speak with at the time and I don’t feel I should have to take time out of my day to phone and give feedback. Train your staff to be hospitable!!!! Maybe one day they will realise how fortunate they are to have a job in Australia. When paying top dollar for food and drinks in Australia could we not at very least have some decent service?

The staff very friendly and showing foresight when catering to our needs. A really enjoyable chicken in pyjamas Fish n chips and apple and blueberry pie! A year later 2/12/24 Scotch fillet. Cooked as I asked m2r the veggies were unusual in presentation but most enjoyable, well done Chef!! Daniel. Waiting the tables, most welcoming and provided great service. A call out to the lady at the bar for her recommendations.

Came in yesterday and was struggling a little to figure out the machines but Sophie and Keirra were lovely and helpful and really made me feel welcome and comfortable in the space, the complementary coffee I got was such a sweet touch too, will definitely be bringing some friends here sometime soon

I recently had my daughter’s first birthday at the Blackburn hotel Atrium room and it was a huge success. It was a pleasure working with the event coordinator Victoria on all the planning, nothing was too much of an ask. The event went so smoothly thanks to her planning, the amazing bar staff, chefs and waiters.They were proactive in keeping us on schedule and wanted to ensure the event went well. Thank you so much for being so friendly and flexible with us. The guests commented that the food was great too thanks to the chefs! Would definitely recommend having a function at Blackburn Hotel.

We had the worst food experience here, we ordered Korean chicken and it tasted disgusting , we orderd medium rare steak it came rare and the medium well came well done , dry and very chewy. Horrible food . However the waiters are very nice and the atmosphere is great. Will never come here again and I don't recommend the food here

The food has been better and more delicious than ever..great work chefs..Chryssa, Hannah, Millie and James have always been wonderful to me and my grandson always helping me with whatever I need and bubs needs..The coffee Hannah made was magnificent..thank you staff!!

Milly was wonderful, very friendly, happy and helpful. Unfortunately there was a perfume that smelt a bit like toilet freshener that spoilt the atmosphere but the food was delicious all round and the hotel was clean and nice
