Great spot fantastic views

Only there for a drink with a friend, but impressed with the cleanliness of the place.

Ordered a roast beef, not an option to have chips only veg. Was asked if I wanted large or small serve so of course I went large. At $28 a serve i got 2 boiled potatoes, 2 pieces of roast carrot, 2 pieces of overcooked beetroot and a piece of pumpkin with my whopping 3 pieces of deli shaved roast beef with gravy. The most disappointing roast i have ever had. You'd get more meat in a cheeseburger 🤮 won't be in a hurry to return. Over priced, under fed and the staff were run off their feet.

Walked in and stood alongside the barmaid, she turned around and looked at me and never spoke then proceeded to go upstairs to the gaming room so after a couple of minutes I walked back out. Can't complain about the service as there was none.

Had lovely lunch today with my sister at the C-Bar. Both our Haloumi and Octopus Salads were yummy. The barman, Ben was five star. Attentive, recommended the bubbles, got our dog water, brought us olive oil, so professional, I would hire him in a second. If the boss is reading this give Ben a payrise.

Great vegan schnitz! Setting is lovely and the staff were great, especially Jessica that served our table, she was lovely!

Nice view and vibe, I was unlucky enough to order the seafood marinara as a main. it contained a mussel, small scallop and way too much tomato sauce and no parmesan cheese, it was awful, highlight was eating my friends left over chips. The abundance of seafood that can be sourced locally and should be used either make the chef incompetent or lazy.

Location is perfect, right on the wharf. Staff were very friendly & helpful & the food was excellent.

OK local pub with gambling facilities. Owned by Federal Group like many Tasmanian hotels.

Place is average, food is terrible. Margherita pizza was fully loaded with garlic sauce and Southern fried chicken burger was super average. The beer and the view is ok though. I only recommend having some beers, but nothing else.

What a gem. And right on the water. Food was amazing. Chicken parmigiana melted in your mouth.

45 mins wait for 2x $35 plates of cold fish. Maybe not again.understaffed . Fish, chips, veggies all at best slightly above room temp. Taste not terrible. Not great either. Paying for waterfront but t patio stayed empty. Disappointing experience. Not going back.

Great food for Red Cross Volunteers group every year. I enjoy coming here. Your meal is bit rich.

Great food

My fisherman's basket was very disappointing. The battered items were very greasy and the crumbed ones were very hard.

Great room for the price. Perfect for an overnight stay. However, the pillows were a bit thick and bumpy. I ended up sleeping on my towel. Would be nice if there was a selection of different sized pillows. Overall, the experience was pleasant.

What a great turn out tonight for the Cambridge shiploads Xmas party. The waterfront hotel was so easy to communicate with meals over the last few weeks. No issues and dealing with staff was a blessing. Sharon made our night smooth even after two meals were cancelled last minute. The last X3 Christmas parties at the waterfront. Thank you to everyone involved making our night a smooth process.

Great simple pub food and atmosphere. Can't beat the waterside vibe. Very Tassie... rain hail or sunshine . Cold local beer.

Mediocre

Only had a coffee but very nice, good price and lovely staff.

Over booked, under staffed, inexperienced staff training with result poor quality food and long waits. Staff tried hard but clearly a management issue My 4 quests were upset I chose this venue as location is great.

A large family gathering of 24, including 6 children from 3 to 11 gathered for dinner at 5.30. The greeting on arrival was underwhelming. We were seated as requested out on the deck, lovely. The area was comfortable, warm enough with the outdoor heaters. Once all the party had arrived orders were taken, food arrived relatively quickly. The bar was very crowded - maybe a couple more bar staff were needed as it was a FULL night in the restaurant and there seemed to be only 2 or 3 waiters who also doubled behind the bar. Probably because of it being so busy staff weren't especially smiley which can be off putting. After tables were cleared we waited an hour before finding menus ourselves to order dessert - the children's dinners included ice cream and they had finished a long time before with no sign of their treat. Food overall was excellent, good serves, well presented. Absolutely great that children's soft drinks are free. We have been here before for a family event, but service needs to pick up before we consider a return.

Beautiful meals, fantastic table service and so nice to dine out on the deck area. Throughly recommend.

Cracking spot for a summer beer and live music.

6 of us had lunch today was surprised to find we could have half serve scallops, they were lovely and the parmigiana and chicken burger were just as delicious, the young man that looked after us was very efficient and friendly, we ate downstairs 😀

Delicious food a On such a beautiful day! What better thing to do than share a pizza and coffee with friends at the CBar! Great staff great views!

Loved this place, really nice outlook, great service and delicious food. We highly recommend.

Impolite staff that try to show anyone with black hair their first language is not English. More training is needed for the staff in this regard. Very unsatisfactory and unpleasant. It was the first and the last time I visited this place.

Meal and service were amazing. We were seated outside, where the tables were quite close together. No-one from our table and the opposite table to get up at the same time as there simply wasn't room to move both chairs away from both tables.

Great place to eat food was fantastic staff where very attentive and helpful

Delicious food, fantastic service, and a relaxed dining experience. I'm not usually a beer drinker but felt like one with my meal. Our waitress was very helpful informing me of my choices and finding out from other staff what would suit my request as I wasn't familiar with what they offered.

We had a most outstanding and delightful waitress-Shelley, at the Waterfront Hotel Bistro, tonight. Also, the Barramundi was cooked to perfection by the chef -altogether a wonderful dinner. It was Shelley who made all the difference with her happy personality, Chris and Mary

Great food

All the meals I have had there over the last couple of years have been great, but tonight I can’t rate them as it was just average, especially for a pub meal at $36 pretty poor. Chips was cold and counted 9 scallops in my plate .

Great place. Worth a visit

Overall was a good food experience with a wonderful atmosphere except for Sharon who happened to be the duty manager, who argued pretty hard with me that it was my fault I didn’t specify whether we wanted a main or entree, and gave a main instead for our squid. Interesting that she said “I won’t apologize for it coz you didn’t specify”s I replied, “darling, you didn’t event ask ! “ haha Interesting choice of a duty manager ;)

Nice lunch 😋

The food and service were faultless. I was part of a group of 12 folks and all were inmpressed with the menu choices and food. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to visit.Staff are awesome, however I was disappointed that they have taken little creatures off tap.

Lovely place for a meal.

Great view! Burger was awful, as was the tap selection.

The ribs were average would I go back for them - no. I think Hogs Breath and Shoreline have better ribs. The place stinks like a stinky old casino and is generally not clean. It’s cold upstairs. Only thing that was good was the service the team were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely not be going back.

Had a meal there on Wednesday with a couple of old Nasho mates. The service by all staff was fantastic, excellent food and a couple of Boag's St.George on tap to top off a very enjoyable couple of hours. 5 stars from me.

Great atmosphere , friendly staff, and cold drinks all while overlooking the marina

Enjoyed our lunch, staff members were very friendly and there were no worries when I asked for a table change due to the sun glare

I took my mum to restaurant and really enjoyed our meal. We had crumbed scallops and golden syrup dumplings on Mother's Day. Shelley our waitress was terrific and so helpful. Made our special lunch very enjoyable. Keep up the great work!

I've agonised about posting this review, but Google keeps reminding me (yes I could dismiss the request) but I was really disappointed in the downstairs bar meal I ordered - fish and chips for $22. I'll post the photo but it was literally just that. 2 pieces of frozen crumbed something and chips with tartare that had no taste. I'd like to think the kitchen just messed up and this was a kids meal. My friends liked their meals, which were only $18, but again, just the steak in a roll with chips and pulled pork in a roll with chips. The outside furniture has been updated (yay) and the plain wall has been decorated with sleepers and two vertical gardens - which are half dead. They're not the only venue that spends money on outdoor plants only to let them die from lack of water. We went to the downstairs area to eat as the upstairs is not wheelchair accessible. So needless to say, I won't be going back in a hurry.

Great upstairs terrace

Best food and service that we have had in a long time

If stairs aren't a problem for you, this is a place you should check out. The service is good staff are friendly and helpful. I had the steak, which they got right, RARE not overcooked at all. The seafood basket was also good, very tasty and fresh. If you are in the area, give it a go you won't be disappointed.

Great food Great staff food was spot on good scenery 👌

I hate posting negative reviews but when you leave a place feeling like you've been totally done over you feel like you need to. First time in years!! Ordered Fisherman's basket $40 The squid was grey the fish overcooked and oily as. Prawns oily. The scallops shrivelled up and the chips very average. This was surely not fresh. Presentation on delivery HIGHLY disappointing. I had to spit out the squid after trying a bit of it. Tasted off 🤢 We didn't send it back as we were with a bunch of people after a funeral and I didn't want to be that person. So I picked at it half-heartedly. When I asked for a discount on leaving at desk she said she would have to first speak to the chef and then call the duty manager... and adding that I should have sent it back straight away, that I had ate most of it and finally gave me a measly $5 off. Well sorry I was starving and ready for a delicious meal. POOOOR customer service!!.. and that comes from someone who has done a lot of time in hospo. If you can't do a dish properly then don't have it on the menu. And when you have a disgruntled customer and a queue of people behind them look after them instead of wanting to contact the duty manager plus the chef so I have to waste more time explaining and defending this ridiculous scenario and feeling like I'm the person at fault. When push come to shove they failed on a major level with major incompetence. Management train your people better.

Pretty raucus in the Sunday arvo. Food was well cooked , no salad or sides in the bar😒

Taking of our order way too long a wait The waitresses themselves were lovely

Staff were all lovely but if you're a vegetarian go somewhere else. Their version of a vegan schnitzel" is two takeaway shop style bubble and squeak veggie patties."

Always a pleasure dining at the Waterfront Hotel. Great menu with friendly and helpful staff...

Nice meals, great view. Super friendly staff!

Food is amazing. Cocktails are fabulous. Wish the music was back on Fridays and Saturdays though

The service was top notch & the actual pub is really well maintained & overlooking the marina & water. We ordered garlic prawn parmigiana & scotch fillet & couldn’t fault them. We also just walked in after work without a booking & they accommodated us. Highly recommend
