Nightcap at Shoppingtown Hotel

The rooms are incredibly noisy, and I found numerous insects in my room and bed. The cleanliness is also lacking. While it may be slightly cheaper compared to the other hotel in the neighborhood, the quality is far inferior. I strongly advise against staying here.

Convenient location with pub onsite with a kids playground in there. We were initially a bit cautious of rowdy pub goers but it was relatively quiet after all. Very affordable rates as well.

Good hotel , great location, ok pokies good play area for the kids with play ground and gaming machines , staff where allways friendly and helpful, Westfield shopping centre directly across the road , we had a good stay at this hotel . Thanks.

Honestly one of the most easy-going places that I have stayed at. The team are the ones that makes it great. The room was large and clean. The room service was extremely fast as the food was delicious. Stayed 4 days and was not disappointed. Will definitely stay here again.

Got to the room at 5AM after driving overnight from Sydney. The 4 of us had a good sleep on the very comfy beds and cosy room. The room had all what we needed to get up and get going again without delays or worrying about breakfast! Thanks Mary for helping out in our situation and making our stay perfect! Really appreciate it!

Been to the bistro and the service, food and views are just great and awesome.

I've stayed here for a few times already, and have absolutely wonderful experience! The location is incredibly convenient, just a short drive from Melbourne City and right across from Westfield Doncaster. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure my stay are perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for either short stay or long stay in Doncaster.

An excellent place to stay. Friendly staff, easy check in, and clean rooms with super comfortable beds. Simple but adequate breakfast box provided, containing cereal, milk, juice and muesli bar. Great food at the bistro making it an ideal stay for a solo female guest as you can easily and safely eat out within metres of your room. Fantastic location opposite Doncaster Shopping Town. Highly recommend staying here.

I've stayed here twice now, once for work and another for a holiday. Cozy and comfortable rooms, room service is a huge plus with tasty meals, pretty decent parking and I loved the convenience of walking across the road to Westfield. The only downside was people in the carpark and coming out of the venue past 2am being loud and someone was banging on a door at like 3-4am. The view is nice but I wish there were light switches for the outside/balcony area as the light at night is a bit annoying. Recommended for up to a week stay.

Stayed here for the long weekend. Firstly, there was no one to greet us for check in at reception. There was a sign saying to see bar staff for check in, they knew nothing of it. We asked around the entire venue. 20 mins later, we were finally checked in. Staff were friendly. We had a neighbour making noise in room 4 until 5am. we tried calling reception many times, yet there was no answer. So my partner went walked to reception at 4am and rang the bell. no one is there. Having stayed here many times & many other Nightcap venues, i found this to be extremely concerning and poor service upon the hotels safety and comfort of the guests. We had the worst sleep we have ever had. Very uncomfortable with the entire process. This deters us from staying here again.

Plus points: 1. Clean tidy rooms, good lighting, clean sparkling bathroom. 2. TV in the both the areas of the room for privacy, Split AC/Heater in both the areas of the room. 3. Ample amount of shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, coffee, tea. 4. Bistro is 5 steps away, or can order food from the room easily online. 5. Great views from the balcony. 6. Ample amount of parking available. Minus points: 1. No microwave in the room.

Comfortable and cheap. For the price, this is good deal and not too far from the airport. But let down by the “smokey” room (previous guest smoked in the room, but it should not be make available to the next guest in such a state)

Such a lovely stay! Staff were so welcoming & friendly. The room was spotless & the beds so comfortable. Awesome rain shower in bathroom. We got up on the public holiday morning to have coffee on the balcony overlooking the Melbourne sky line - they even had hot air balloons sailing just for us, tee hee 😉 They give you a free drink and 10% off at the bistro, doesn't get any better than that!

Lovely room. The staff are really friendly and very accommodating. They are kid friendly and across for the Westfield shopping centre. Great value. Definitely recommend.

Quiet room. Easy access to facilities. Convenient location. All in all a good experience at a reasonable price.

The room and bathroom were clean and quiet, the curtains were thick and the mattress was very comfortable. We slept really well. The check-in/check-out process was straight forward and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The amenities were excellent — in addition to the usual coffee, sugar, tea, mugs, and milk, there were also chilled bottles of water in the fridge, biscuits, and “breakfast packs” with everything you’d need for a filling breakfast. Housekeeping were generous with restocking items each day and made sure we had everything we needed.||||The staff were also amazing. The staff member who assisted us upon arrival was friendly, cheerful, and helpful. The housekeeping staff were thorough and flawless. After a busy day sightseeing, I’d always come back to a very clean, tidy room with everything replenished. I’d definitely visit again if the chance arose. However, avoid the connected bistro if you can — lacklustre service and unhelpful staff. But the hotel’s proximity to plenty of restaurants and cafes makes it easy to find dinner elsewhere.

Good considering it’s 3-Star and happy with the location. Will definitely stay there when I am in Melbourne.

Rating as motel accommodation. The place is a developer's opportunity. Ekeing out an existence pending that. Grounds/roadway maintenance is non-existent. Potholes are in evidence. Residents are not given parking priority by their rooms. Cleaning is perfunctory. Room maintenance is not pro-active. Room facilities basic by 2022 standards. No doubt the lockdowns, restrictions and other nonsense suffered in Victoria has contributed to the current situation.

This has been my place to stay for a while when in melb. Accommodation comfortable ammenities good and surprisingly quiet. Recent stay was a busy night. Came back 7pm partner unwell wanted to park and rest. All parking supposedly reserved for hotel guests full by others. Drove around parking for 20 minutes. Nothing except very back row that was steep and dark. Spoke to manager on call who had no suggestions and could not have cared less. Said some having dinner would leave soon so wait. We sat in car outside accommodation and eventually got parking. Very traumatic time considering our circumstances. Rang to speak to manager on the Monday told I could not for a week. Rang in a week and a make pretended to be manager for a while then he became quite argumentative. Then said manager back following week. Took my number. No call at all. I actually just wanted to report our experience and suggest that when they have a big event they police the parking for hotel guests. And give some constructive feedback. No use having a do not park sign here if it is not taken seriously. Sadly we will not be staying here again extremely disappointed

The place was clean and the manager is so friendly and so helpful but the receptionist was so rude and kinda racist and was not friendly at all.

Place for variety of cuisine in lap of nature

We are very happy how our issues were delt with. Hotel manager (Simon) a hard working guy went beyond to solve our problem. Simon even cleaned our outdoor chairs. I wish every hotel has a manager like Simon. Also thanks to the house keeper lady for cleaning our room. Appreciate it. Wished i requested the upstairs room , but thats okay. Next time i know i have to ask prior. Thanks again Simon and Nightcap hotel.

Lovely Motor Inn style motel with modern bright rooms, was a very cold weekend but was nice and toasty in room with beautiful shower. Location was perfect as i was attending a function in the Galaxy Room.||||I was on the ground floor there was quite abit of noise heard by nearby patrons, but noise has never really bothered me and to me this would be expected being connected to large venue on a Weekend.||||Food was standard bistro fair but all very seemed fresh and everything we had was very tasty, during lunch there was a storm and the power was lost for a couple hours but food continued to come out and staff remained attentive and saw the humor in the situation, hats off to them ! ||||Would stay again if in the area or attending a function or concert at the venue.||||Thanks
