Good honest bar and hotel rooms perfect for a boys trip
This is not a review of the bar just the ‘hotel’ Firstly the positives - the sheets and towels were clean and in good condition and the bed was comfortable. If you removed these to somewhere else …. The hotel is tatty - some of which can be accepted as it is a one star hotel but not all. The main issues are 1. Common Room that looks like a store room (if it is this then shut the door) - the fridge in the room has NEVER been cleaned! 2. There is no hot water in the Ladies bathroom which has one shower, a bath with a curtain chucked up against it and a toilet. It was not that the hot water had been used - none came out of the tap and trust me the cold is cold
Good food, kid friendly space, good service. Give them a try. I recommend them
Delicious food and great atmosphere
Loved the Restaurant Great Menu Friendly Staff I'll be back
Poor food steak was microwave then cooked chicken parmigiana was veal all un eat able.
Great tucker, brilliant service, fabulous setting.
Great food and service. Well worth checking out
The fact the front bar remains as it has been for many years is comforting. Dropped in for a few pots and a game of pool with a mate. Didn't trouble the staff nor the locals too much - wins all round :)
The staff were lovely, the food was delicious, the bed was comfy and the room was big. If you're looking for somewhere to store your stuff and sleep at night, this place is perfect, the pub is quiet, however, there is some traffic noise. My room had a nice view of Mount Wellington. There is no microwave, bar fridge or sink in this room, however, there is a convenience store right next door. Hungry Jacks was across the road as was a Foodary. Woolies and Coles are not too far away but bear in mind there is a big hill if you're walking. It's a bit of a walk down to the pier and all the fun stuff but if you're doing a tour they pick you up from out the front. I enjoyed my stay and will more than likely stay here again in the future.
Great place for a meal and and beverage of your choice.
It was shut for dinner unfortunately.
My friend had his 30th birthday here Saturday night the food came out cold he payed 60 dollars a platter and there where 2 platters and they where home band one of the bar staff wanted to leave early case she had other plans got there at 7 she wanted us out of there by 9 9.30 and was not meant to be finished till 12 I would never come back here again.
My partner had his 30rh birthday party on Saturday night i would not come back to this place if I was payed to there was different prices on drinks for different people he had to get two Platters of food so he got partypies and Sausageroll and they where meant to be from a Bakery and they where only the box party pies and sausagerolls you can get from woollies or Coles they also came out cold and he payed a 120 dollars for the two platters and one of the bar staff wanted the party closed down early cause she had other plans at 9.30 and we only got there a 7 and it was not meant to finish 12 i would not recommend anyone to have a party at this place
My best friend brother had his 30th birthday function there Saturday just gone the food they charged $60 each for was cold home brand party pies and sausage rolls from either Coles or woolies was kicked out before we was meant to with having to tell people who was travelling down from new Norfolk in ifc a taxi they wasted there money as they had to turn around… one of the bar staff put a lot of people on edge with her attitude as she wanted it shut by 9:30 keep in my mind it didn’t start till 7!! Definitely turned a lot of people of having another function there
I had a function there and the food I had to get was cold wen it came out and it was the stuff you can buy from coles and Woolworths and they charged $60 each plater the bar prices was different for everyone that was drinking the same drink and cost more then any other place would got kicked out way before I was ment to leave with people still turning up I wouldn’t recommend the place to hold a function
The room had a tv with no power cable. The paint was peeling off the roof and the main reason I booked a pub room was for meals and the kitchen was closed.
FALSE ADVERTISING! Please do no book into this hotel as it has the most unhygienic and disgusting rooms ever. The floors were PUTRID. The rooms and corridor very dusty and foul smelling and there was no cooling available for a hot night. We left the windows open and our sleep was disturbed by really loud vehicles passing by as the hotel is situated by the main road. I do not understand how someone can advertise their rooms as a hotel. The hotel staff present were untrained and new (not their fault) and we were first sent into a room that was already occupied! We walked into a guy lol. Do not recommend this stay unless you enjoy your stay at dingy places.
Food and service is always top notch.
Good food
Good pub food. Bar service a but slow.
Dining room was cold but food was excellent! Well presented and served promptly. Would certainly go again in warmer weather.
Great Pub meals
Very affordable. Clean bed. All good
Great service at bottle shop
Great food , good beer , amazing service
The first time we dined there it was acceptable and we thought we would return and give it a second try. Unfortunately when we returned it was a sad and sorry sight. We waited at the bar for for 5 to 10 mins to get seated. Once someone finally arrived we were taken to the restaurant whereby we were the only people there. We asked if we order at the bar or we would be served we literally got no answer. We had a menu placed in front of us and 15 minutes later we walked out as nobody returned to take any orders whatsoever. The area was in eeriy silence and with literally no service we had no option but to leave. Unfortunately the place cannot survive in its current form which is such a shame given its history. Get your act together team before it's too late
Good meals and friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
Great Roast of the Day meal! Service was great - shoutout to Kathy. Ample parking, clean bistro and good wine selection, will be back.
Great food. Reasonable prices. Kid friendly dining. Gluten free options. Will keep us coming back. 👏🏻👏🏻
Same as it was 50 yes ago cold beer very nice meals and great peole
Another excellent dinner, excellent service. Great food and better staff.
Ok if you can get a room for the night
Food was good when it arrived but took almost an hour to arrive
If you are into grubby ambiance and don't mind waiting an age for food then I highly recommend it. Will not return here.
Great spot just out of the city, good pub menu and range of drinks, always friendly staff
This place is known as an older building in Hobart but it is very updated, keeping up with all trends in other Hotels, all services are fine.I do have a big issue regarding the pictures of the Room especially, there is 1 picture, the photos are so poorly taken,I was shocked to see a picture of a wall with a door down a hall by the looks of it.If anyone wanted to stay from looking at images they would not pick this place, the Globe has always been popular & could be a Higher end place attracting many people if someone put there time into it it could make alot if $$$ for the position vof where it's located & all the other services close by,the Casino being only 15mins away.Update pictures thankyou 🙂
Heard a lot of bad reviews about the globe hotel but I do have to say was the best chicken schnitzel I've had in a long time and the bro reckons it's the best chicken parmigiana 💯👍👌
Great value meals
Great meal, reasonably priced, clean and tidy. Nice place to go for a Friday lunch. Will definitely be going back.
Great lunch spot
Good service, good food.
Food's always been very good quality, been there many times and always loved it. Staff are friendly and treat you well.
Great pub great dog
Chef Scott's food is the best in Hobart!
Great food and lovely staff.
Warm snd friendly service.
Music is good, service is ok, if u are not a local be ready to be treated like u have the virus
Because I do
It was ok
It doesn't look grand from the outside but the interior has been tarted up nicely and has very good meals.
Bar service was awesome, thanks Dion 🙂
Good food
Very very very basic no tea or coffee
Top feed! good service in a nice warm comfy setting and great prices! Def be going back
A group of my friends and I came for lunch today, it took the staff a very long time to serve us. They served the people who came from upstairs that I believe were playing bingo before us. The people who came down from upstairs received their drinks/food before us even though we ordered first, even just other people got their food before we received ours. It took an hour for the food to arrive after a very long wait to be served! The customer service was very poor, thankfully the food was good but we only got to have a few bites of our food because we had somewhere to go :( We didn’t think it was going to take over an hour and a half for a meal. I am very unimpressed with this experience and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child with ease over the phone, very friendly staff.||We are glad we did!! ||Of all the accommodation on offer over the easter period, this was the best in Hobart. ||||Here's why:||||Easy to find away from the crowds yet close enough to everything you need.||Ease of key collection.||Charming rooms and hallways, (nicer and more welcoming that clinical accommodation.)||Facilities are clean, fabulous hot water showers, clean linen and ultra comfortable beds.||Free ample parking just outside room.||Very quiet at night and great views of Mt Wellington and township.||No pub noise at all during our 2 nights.||Perfect budget accommodation, we will be back!
Great night

We chose off the bar meal menu, excellent value for a smaller meal. Great service too
Nice bistro area and good food
Friendly staff, reasonable prices, smoking area and pool tables. Occasional live music. Keno and ubet. Local and quite.
