Jason and the wonderful staff at Missing Gorilla went above and beyond for my mums surprise 70th birthday. Everything from the food , service and atmosphere was amazing. 5 stars

Visit here weekly, the staff are friendly and even willing to join into the fun of trivia night. Usually only get drinks, but have tried the food and it is tasty

Super Bowl package started at 9am according to the $55 purchased ticket. Told at the door package started at the start of the game (10:30). ‘Roaming nibbles’ was just multiple bowls of hot chips after being told there was chips, chicken bites, calamari, pizza. Free to air game was streamed on an online streaming service which kept glitching. Last year was exceptional, this year was overall disappointing. Will not return next year.

Courteous, excellent, exemplary friendly , professional customer service, &$ food prices courteous exemplary excellent professional service highly recommended especially Thursday night trivia night , I’m always treated with kindness respect & it’s a lot of fun , a joy& pleasure to frequent this establishment family friendly as well, staff are lovely as always warm friendly greetings upon arrival.

Fantastic venue with a great area for kids. Great food and beer selection with rotating taps and constant live bands and events happening.

Had my sons 2nd bday here, absolutely loved it, staff were super friendly, food was great, children play area was amazing! Kids had a ball. Only criticism is that the door is automatic so kids can just run out being so close to the children play area. But that’s not an easy fix, would recommend this place to everyone!

Terrific venue with friendly and helpful staff. Had a group of 12 for lunch here. We couldn't have been better looked after. We will be back.

Nothing short of a fantastic experience. Stumbled upon here purely by accident - was pleasantly surprised! Owner was wonderful and went out of his way to indulge us and give us a great experience. Food was definitely of a high standard as well. They even has a pool table to top it off!

Dismal and unpleasant experience. Firstly, the drinks (on tap) were somehow warm and inconsistent, one beer had a decent head and the other had nothing despite being poured by the same person consecutively. It was a hot and busy night and all staff seemed overwhelmed, the line for the bar and the line to order food were both making it hard to move around the venue to head to the toilets and the tables situated near the kitchen and bar were being surrounded by people, making for a loud and unpleasant seating. The service was 0/10, unfriendly and hostile. Food was placed down and just walked away without any cutlery offered. Both ourselves and the 3 surrounding tables all had to go and help ourselves to the cutlery and salt/pepper. The food was not pleasant and very inconsistently cooked, one Parma was cooked nicely however the other was darkened brown and extremely dry. The chips were like eating cardboard (not salt or seasoning) and the crumb to chicken portion a let down, a lot of crumbing and minimal chicken. The salad was drowned in salad dressing which was bitter. When we mentioned our meals weren’t nice the waiter scoffed and said is that so? and just walked off with no further communication. Extremely expensive for what it is and don’t recommend.. A lot of drunk and rowdy patrons in attendance and was more of a club than a restaurant.

We came here a few weeks ago and twas just another local pleasant surprise! We had live entertainment and yes, the food just as good as the picture looks! And, outstanding value for money. The service was friendly. We're definitely returning.

Horrible place!! I did an interview and trail and they said they would get back to me within a week but I never got any reply back after several weeks.

Members of a nearby cycling club visited Missing Gorilla today for coffee and cake. Jason could not have been more helpful and we all agreed that the experience at the cafe is well worth another visit. Highly recommend. Bruce

Went for breakfast. Very disappointed with the whole experience. Won’t be returning.

We has the trio of dips. The chick pea type dip was extremely tasteless with a lot of olive oil on the top. The chips were lovely, however the tomato sauce was very strange and more like a salsa with a cinnamon flavour more suited to nachos. All in all disappointing.

I had my 30th and my Uncles 45th here and Management go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and happy with how you want things decorated etc. The staff were absolutely amazing and friendly. It was an amazing day all round. The food on the other hand was absolutely amazing and big dishes for the price! will deffinately be coming back!

Have visited on several occasions - brunch, a social drink, dinner - and each time I’ve been pleased with the experience. Service with a smile and genuine conversation and a great area for kids are the big highlights for me. Food is tasty, enough variety. Highly recommend booking a table in the ‘kids area’ if you plan on dining with the kids so you’re able to see from your table.

Despite being a busy Father’s Day the service was great and staff were friendy. Food came out quicker than expected and the kids love the kids zone. Family friendly, good food, plenty of parking near by.

Went there with my toddler and partner! The service was absolutely amazing, everyone was so friendly and welcoming and they were happy to make a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu. Honestly the customer service was second to none and I will definitely be back! Food and drinks were equally as amazing and well priced.

Had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Was hoping to have the breakfast menu as seen on Instagram but they no longer had the breakfast menu anymore. Plenty of parking outside and across the road from the grocery store. service was great and staff were friendy Food didn't take too long to come out, and we sat next to a fireplace. lots of seating inside, and very family friendly.

Birthday Party at Missing Gorilla last night with 80ish people, WOW, this place is fantastic! Management go above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of. Staff are friendly and food was delicious. The band/duo scheduled to play last night, unfortunately needed to cancel last minute, but Anthony managed to get another duo in for the night and they were fantastic. Highly Recommend, would happily do more functions here or even just visit for a meal.

Nice food, quick and lovely service. If you have children, a surprisingly good play area is there for them, with toys, couches, soft toys, a slide and a mini climbing wall.

I recently hosted a family function at Missing Gorilla and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. The staff were exceptional, attentive, friendly and efficient, from the first moment we met with Anthony to plan the event, to the bar staff on the night. The food was excellent, we had heaps of compliments about it. We were situated at the back of the venue, with the stage and balcony (with heaters), the venue boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere. I can't thank Missing Gorilla enough for the incredible night.

great night out. Love that its local and we get to support good people giving it a go in a competitive market. Keep the band and music nights coming and we will be there!

This place is awesome

The venue was great but the food was very disappointing. We had the salmon but it was nothing like the photo which had a variety of vegetables. Only two pieces of asparagus which were very stringy and inedible and way too much crushed potato. 😏

Not many venues are willing to host an 18th Birthday Party, but Missing Gorilla is an exception. The room at the front was perfect for our daughters celebration. Pizza and dips were included and the atmosphere was awesome. Anthony and Jason were fantastic in ensuring the night would be remembered. Nothing left to chance.. music, lights, decos and a private bar were the icing on the cake making it a special night for all

Great atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff, good food

Food was terrible. If there was an option of less than 1 star, I would have chosen that. Beers were flat. Music was too loud, making it hard to have conversations. It was also too dark. Really disappointing. It could be a great space but it fell really short.

Staff were attentive, friendly and provided overall great customer service. Food was delicious and we loved the options of drinks available. We will be back.

We went for brunch on Mother’s Day. I have never written a negative review before but felt my comments may help this restaurant to lift its game. Meals were served fairly promptly and staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly that’s where the positives ended. We were seated at tables on the balcony. The stools were very hard to sit on (I have 5 spinal fusions). There was very little room to move the stools to get in and out. The table was narrow and with 6 of us seated, there was not enough room for our plates, tea cups and pots. My plate was hanging over the edge of the table, making it awkward for me to eat. I also found it difficult to eat as I was too short to reach comfortably. Of the six of us that ordered only one person was happy with their meal. The eggs on sourdough that I ordered consisted of two eggs on a thin, hard, dry and in edible piece of sourdough. The only garnish was a couple of small micro herbs. Eggs were cooked to my liking but overall the dish was disappointing. Other members of our party complained that the pancakes were rubbery and dry and the berries looked soggy and unappetising. My daughter in law had to tell the waiter that she did not receive the berries with her order and he was apologetic and brought them out quickly. My daughter ordered a trio of dips with pita bread that she described as “disappointing”. I tried one of the dips and, whilst I found it tasted OK, it was lacking the flavour I have experienced at other restaurants and was again disappointing. Schnitzel arrived late and unexpectedly as we were told they did not serve it before 11.30 so my granddaughter just settled for chips. By the time the schnitzel arrived she was not hungry. The chips were delicious according to those who had them. I tried a piece of the schnitzel and felt it was very oily and uninspiring. I cannot recall what my 18 year old grandson ordered but do know that he ate less than half of it. I am sorry to sound so negative but we all came away saying how disappointed we all were. I hope the owners consider my comments and improve the quality of meals and presentation for their own survival.

We had our sons 21st at Missing Gorilla on the weekend and were blown away by the venue. They were incredibly helpful and made the organization effortless. All we provide was some balloons and big 21 and the space looked beautiful. The food was exceptional and we loved how the spread it around the room do everyone could access it. The pizzas were delicious and varied. No one left hungry. During the speeches, they helped run the PowerPoint. They kept us informed about the bar tab the whole night. We were incredibly impressed with the venue and staff. Thank you 🙏

Such a wonderful place to dine. Cocktails were perfect, food was delicious, atmosphere was lovely and staff are so attentive and friendly. Love the different areas available to sit as well, balcony is just beautiful and kids area is a real hit! Friday night solo singer was incredible recently too. I really recommend this restaurant as a local and can’t speak more highly about it. Amazing

Lovely friendly service from the manager. Food came out quick and was tasty. Pizza base had high moisture content which was nice. Appreciated the complementary bowl of sorbet.

The venue has a great vibe added to by a singer who played during our meal. We had a huge group booking and our meals came out quickly despite being short staffed. . Staff were efficient and friendly.

Good food, great atmosphere. Dined for dinner early on Saturday night. It is Bistro style, so no frills: get your own menu, cutlery, order at bar. On tap a lot not available. Service friendly, but they have no idea what they are doing 😊

Had my wifes 40th with around 30 people - the service was absolutely exemplary - platters dips and pizzas next level and bar service perfect. Could not recommend more highly - thankyou so much for making the big day so special.

Excellent venue for light entertainment and good. Cosy and pleasant atmosphere. Food is very nice. Wide variety of beer, including Ginger beer on tap.

Venue was good, staff friendly as well could see the effort of trying to make you feel better about the absolute 0 quality in the food. Kids enjoyed the play area too. Paid 6 dollars extra for pulled lamb to be added on the breakfast board. Well it was apparently still getting done yet comes out absolutely rocking hot from the microwave. Pure disgusting food experience eggs over done 90% of food on the plate was cold and a seasoned cold tomato paste in a bowl really topped it off for me. My 16 month old eats basically anything but spat the lamb out which really made me laugh. Partner got the smashed avocado which well, had a butter knife worth scraped over toast!! What a bloody joke considering its supposed to have smashed avacado not a avacado butter!!! 😂😂😂wish i took photos as it seriously was that bad words cannot explain. Thanks will 100% never be returning considering paying table service prices on food that is far below poor cafeteria standards.

Took the family to Missing Gorilla for dinner. Service was great. Staff were very friendly. Had nice chats with the attentive staff. We had an early dinner so there weren’t many people in the restaurant, however it was starting to fill up. Always recommended you book before you go. Gluten free pizza was one of the best we’ve had. Chicken Parma always a hit. Grilled Saganaki was delicious. A bit of live ambient music topped off our experience nicely.

Booked 15 pax for husband's party...it was a busy night as it coincided with Jazz weekend. Excellent atmosphere, excellent customer service - from the booking time until we end the night, excellent food and company! When they said that they would look after you, they surely did! Will come again on other weekends to enjoy the atmosphere and music!

Can't fault this place, been a few times now. Came during the Eltham Jazz festival and the place was great as usual.

Never fails to provide the freshest of food and great selection of on tap bevvies. The staff are 5 star and very friendly. My daughter accidentally broke a glass and the staff were right onto it, instant clean up and let her know not to stress over it, accidents happen, they were only concerned if she was injured, couldn't ask for a better bunch of humans!! We'll be back.

The atmosphere was great but the food was average.

Waited an hour for our entrees, only got them as spoke to the manager who said he'd be back to make it up to us. Didn't see him again, would have appreciated a free drink as compo but no such luck. Maybe middle-aged mums are not the target group. Gave this feedback in an email asking for a rating, sadly no acknowledgement.

Come for the entertainment and the drinks. The atmosphere and food are pub-like. Good for large groups and kids. Super fast service, but food is over priced and bland.

Visited for a girls dinner and the food and service were both disappointing. Waited ages to be served, staff couldn't care less. Lots of messy drunk people and not the vibe we were looking for.

Honestly worst experience! To start this venue is confused. They don’t know if they’re a cafe, pub, bar, family restaurant, club, live music venue. They’re trying to do everything but doing nothing well. The decor is simply not nice and their kids corner is just rubbish. We went on a Saturday night, ordered chicken parmas, and chicken and veg for our child. The parmas looked HORRIFIC. I took one bite and it tasted microwaved, unappealing and simply gross. I didn’t eat further. My partner acknowledged it was gross but as a hungry male he persevered a little more (he ended up with food poisoning). My child’s meal came out wrong and looked so gross I refused to give to child so we left early, with three meals largely uneaten. I contacted missing gorilla directly and provided polite and kind feedback. They acknowledged they remembered us, knew we hadn’t eaten the food, and acknowledged they were understaffed and had issues in the kitchen that night. They were appropriate, apologetic and offered to refund us or give us a restaurant credit. I graciously accepted the refund and then GHOSTED. No response from MG. I tried to follow up but nothing, no response since. I wanted to avoid a public review, but honestly I do want other families wasting money at this venue.

Wonderful location for a family brunch. The menu catered for everybody from toddlers to grandparents. A big thank you to the staff for providing a tasty gluten free french toast option on the menu. The entire breakfast menu, except for the pancakes, can be adapted to be gluten free. We booked a table near the indoor children's play area so the littlies could play before and after their meals. They loved the variety of toys and activities on offer. Parents were relaxed with them playing happily so close to our table.
